Loki laid on his bed with his hands folded over his stomach, staring at the textured ceiling of his new room. The setting sun was shining through his window, casting warm golden beams of light across his bed and walls. Even though he absolutely abhorred Midgard, he had to admit the colors of the sunset were beautiful. In fact, there were quite a few beautiful things here in Midgard, but he would never admit to liking any of them.

Loki swung his legs over the side of his bed and stood up, walking towards the window to watch the sunset. It was only his first night sleeping here, but he was already dreading it. Although he liked having his own room and not being locked up in a cell, he knew he wouldn't really have privacy here with the Avengers and their distrust. It wasn't like he could go anywhere, especially without his magic. Thor had succeeded in finding a way to temporarily stop his magic. Although Loki could still feel it inside of him, it was blocked from his usage by the small, circular device that Thor and Dr. Strange had created and placed on his neck just behind his ear. It was the size of a small button, but it still felt weird the way it sat on his skin. And if he tried to remove it without the code only Thor knew, it would temporarily paralyze him with an electrical current and alert the tower's security system. Not that he would try to remove it though.

A knock on the door shook him from his thoughts. Pulling his eyes away from the darkening sky, he walked to the door and opened it to find Thor.

"Hello," Thor said with a smile. "Are you hungry? Dinner is ready."

"Why so late?"

"Busy schedules," Thor shrugged. "Sometimes dinner is even later than this."

"Ahh, I see," Loki said.

"Come now, brother. Let us go eat!" Thor stepped into Loki's room and grabbed his brother by the shoulders, steering him towards the elevators.

"I didn't say I was hungry, Thor," Loki said, trying to pull away from his brother's strong grip.

"I know you are though. You are even grumpier when you are hungry, and that is saying a lot."

Loki sighed and stepped in the elevator, giving up on struggling to get away. There wasn't a point in arguing about it either. And it was true that he was hungry; he hadn't eaten since breakfast this morning before they came to the tower.

The elevator opened up to a small hallway that led to a kitchen area. In one corner of the room was a table, set with dinner plates and dishes filled with steaming hot food. The Avengers sat around it, each of them piling their plates up with what they wanted to eat. Thor placed his hand on Loki's shoulder and guided him to the two empty chairs reserved for them.

Loki sat down slowly, not bothering to look at anyone as he put food on his plate.

"How was everyone's day?" Steve asked, obviously trying to ease the tension.

"I have had a great day!" Thor exclaimed through a mouthful of food. Loki cringe at Thor's lack of manners.

"Good," Steve said, laughing awkwardly. "I'm glad."

The room fell silent again, the quiet only interrupted by the scraping of silverware on the plates.

Thor finished his food and leaned back in his chair, placing his hands on his stomach. "In about three weeks we will be relocating my people."

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that," Agent Romanoff said. Only then did Loki realize he was sitting right next to her, her shoulder mere inches away from his left side. He glanced sideways at her, trying not to draw her attention to himself. Her face was mostly unreadable, her brows creased together slightly. She was wearing an oversized sweatshirt paired with shorts that would be forbidden in Asgard. No proper lady in Asgard would wear such a thing, but then again, this wasn't Asgard.

"Fury has the place almost all ready, from what I heard," she continued. "They doubled down on it to get it done faster. I think they'll really like their new home."

"I agree," Steve said. "I've seen the pictures and it's beautiful. They've built houses and stores and places for the people to meet. It's going to be great for them."

"Maybe we can send Loki there too," Clint muttered. He was sitting right across from Loki, glaring at him the whole time.

"Nope," Tony said. "I don't trust him anywhere I can't see him."

"He has changed, I swear." Thor said, sitting up straight. "He will have to prove it to you all, but he really is good now."

"Hmm," Romanoff hummed sarcastically next to him.

"What is wrong with you people?" Loki said, putting his fork down on the table. "You can trust an assassin who has killed almost as many people as I have all because she said she is changed and good now. You never question her loyalty to you all or worry about her turning against you. And yet, after all she's done in her past, all you are concerned about is me?"

Agent Romanoff turned to face Loki and glare at him. "If you have a problem with me, why did you come back to earth with Thor?"

"Because I had no choice," he spat. "I am quite full now, Thor. Shall we head off to bed?"

"No, Loki. I have a better idea."

~~~
"So you're telling me that your 'better idea' was to take me around New York?" Loki hissed beside Thor.
"You will be fine, brother. Trust me. The night life here is very fun to experience," Thor replied with a mischievous grin.
"Did all of your friends have to come with us?" Loki cast a glance behind him to where the rest of the group were walking.
"Yes. They do not want you escaping."
Loki huffed in frustration, trying to think of a way to go back to the tower. "Well, what if someone recognizes me?"
Thor laughed. "You are disguised, Loki. No one will know who you are. Plus, people have most likely forgotten what you like like. The incident that took place here was quite some time ago. But trust me when I say, they did not and will not forget what you did."
Loki frowned and looked down at his disguise that Thor had given him. He was wearing Midgardian clothing consisting of jeans, a tshirt and a jacket, and to top it all, a baseball cap.
"I don't understand how this is a disguise, Thor."
"Just trust me. Captains Rogers goes around like that all the time and nobody knows it's him."
"Okay, then that just proves that Midgardians are more incompetent than I thought."
"Will you two quiet down?" Tony said. He was walking behind Thor with a bored look on his face.
Behind Stark, Clint and Romanoff were walking together, talking in hushed whispers and laughing, which irritated Loki for some reason. Steve wasn't too far behind them with Bruce, both of them silent and staring at the floor, their hands in their pockets.
"Why are we doing this again?" Loki
Thor sighed. "I've told you already, Loki. I think it will be good for you to get out and around the place. This is our new home; this is where you will make a new life."
"New life," Loki scoffed. "I don't want to start my 'new life' here."
"Oh come off your high and mighty horse, Loki. You're not better than any of us," Agent Romanoff said from behind him, earning a snicker from Clint.
"Please, do not fight," Thor said. "We're almost there."
"Almost where, may I ask?" Tony said sarcastically.
"To a bar! My favorite in all of New York. They have the best beer."
"You are taking us to a bar?" Loki asked, a disgusted look on his face.
"It will be fun, brother! We can drink and dance all the way into the morning!"
"I don't dance," Loki stated.
"He probably doesn't know how," Clint snorted.
"I know how," Loki protested. "I just do not like dancing."
"He definitely doesn't know how," Romanoff said with a laugh.
Thor stopped and turned towards the others. "Please, stop. We are almost there."
Clint laughed again and Thor turned back around. They continued down the sidewalks and around a corner down a dark alleyway. A bright neon light hung from the side of the building indicating that this bar was called 'The Drunken Lady'.
"This is really the entrance to your favorite bar?" Loki asked, raising an eyebrow. "This does not seem safe Thor."
"I have been here plenty of times before, do not worry. It is a secret bar guarded by magic, Loki."
"You're joking, right?" Loki asked skeptically.
"Of course I am! This is just a bar that I found a long time ago. It is not visited by strangers because of this entrance. It scares away tourists who like to go to the bigger places with more welcoming sights."
"So, you found the perfect place to drink and you didn't think to tell us?" Tony asked, an offended look on his face.
"Exactly. Let us go in!"
~~~

Natasha wasn't sure how many shots of vodka she had taken, but it wasn't getting to her much. Clint who sat next to her was passed out in his chair, his face smashed on the counter. Thor was flirting loudly with a group of girls who were giggling and swaying to the music. Tony had invited Pepper over and they were sitting at a booth in the corner of the room talking. Steve was staring off while sipping his mug of beer, Bruce sitting next to him, his own drink left untouched. Loki on the other hand was drinking like a madman. Many empty bottles, shot glasses and cups sat next to him and he kept requesting more.

Honestly, she was surprised he was letting himself drink this much. Thor had always been big on the alcohol consumption, but it had never occurred to her that his brother would be too. She watched as he downed another bottle and stood up, walking to where Thor was.

Together, they got the DJ to stop playing music and began to sing songs in Asgardian, some of them with loud and odd tunes, some with sad ones. People gathered around to watch them, clapping along as they sang, dancing and laughing to their songs. And if she was being honest with herself, she was surprised at how well Loki could sing. Thor wasn't too bad either.

"Brother!" Loki said, slapping Thor on the back after they had finished another song, one that was particularly loud with bits of crude lines in English. "I like this place very much. We should come here more often."

Thor turned away from the crowd towards Loki and laughed. "Have you had a bit too much to drink Loki? You have not sung like that in many hundreds of years."

Loki shook his head. "No, I have not. I am not drunk."

"I didn't say you were." Thor smiled at his brother, obviously pleased he was enjoying himself.

Loki laughed, a smile plastered across his face as the DJ began playing music again. He looked around the area and made eye contact with Natasha. She turned away, back to the bar as she rotated the half full glass in her hand watching the liquid slosh around, mentally slapping herself in the face to be more alert when watching people.

"Hello," a voice said softly behind her.

Natasha let out as a sigh as she turned to face Loki. "What do you want?" she snapped.

"Well that's not very nice. I came to ask for a dance."

Natasha raised an eyebrow. This didn't seem like the Loki from earlier. Was he playing a joke on her?

"No."

"No? Why?"

"Because."

"That is not a proper answer, Natasha."

She cringed. That was the first time he had ever said her name to her. Usually it was Romanoff, or Agent Romanoff, never Natasha. "It's enough of an answer though and I don't like dancing."

That wasn't completely true, but she wasn't going to tell him that. She had always loved dancing and had taken classes for several different types of dance, but mostly ballet. Steve at one point had even given her lessons for dances from the 40s and 50s. She had rather enjoyed it and every once in awhile they would still do a lesson together. But Steve was the only one that really new she liked to dance.

"No, it's not that. You are just grumpy like usual," he laughed.

Natasha rolled her eyes and started to turn back towards the counter, only to be stopped by Loki grabbing her hand and pulling her to the dance floor before she could react. Fast music was playing and Loki instantly began to pull her around to the beat of it. Despite herself, she smiled as they twirled and spun around, moving fast and carelessly across the floor. Her heart was beating strangely fast as she kept up with the music. Loki was grinning and laughing like a child and when the song ended, he let her go.

"That was fun, was it not?" He asked, his eyes bright.

Natasha took a deep breath and reminded herself of who he was. He was not her friend and not someone to dance with. This was all because he had a bit too much to drink, as did she. Although she knew deep down here actions were not influenced by the alcohol. "No, it wasn't."

Loki's smile dropped and the light in his eyes dimmed. "Oh, my apologies." He turned away from her and back over to Thor.

Natasha went back to her spot at the bar, her skin warm from where he had touched her moments before.

AN: Hello guys! It's been a long time since I've updated on here because I forgot about this site for a bit. Heh. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has read this story while I was absent. It really motivated me and still motivates me. I hope to work on this story more.

This chapter, if you can tell, was inspired by that one episode in the Loki TV series (if you've watched the show, you probably know exactly which episode haha) I thought it would be a fun thing to write and get this story going again.

If you enjoyed, please leave a review :)
