My new story…its Sessh/Kag if you don't like the paring, don't read the story.
**This is a rewrite in order to fit the story as its been progressing! I started this story so long ago it was time to update the writing, and a recent review I got reminded me of this goal! Thanks OnceUponABlueMoonDream !

A New Day: Chapter 2
Sesshomaru squirmed slightly under the heat of his dream, cursing himself as he awoke. A sex dream about Kagome hardly seemed like a coincidence, since they'd finally kissed the night before. It was graphic and delicious, and Sesshomaru longed for it to be real, now that the notion that it could seemed more plausible. Looking down at his lap, Kagome was still asleep, and hadn't yet noticed that her sleeping arrangements had gotten a bit firmer. He almost didn't want her to wake up, hoping to will himself into calm before she stirred, but he knew the longer she stayed there the worse it'll be when she wakes.
He didn't have long to ponder it, because soon Kagome was stirring as she rolled herself off of Sesshomaru's lap. She smiled softly in his direction, and without opening her eyes, yawned and stretched. Her hands brushed his as she gathered her journal, before dropping a kiss onto the still sleeping Shippo's head. She stood, and stealing another soft look at Sesshomaru, walked out of camp toward a nearby wildflower field to watch the sun rise.
Understanding the silent invitation, Sesshomaru gathered his own journal and stood to join her, motioning for Jaken to take care of Shippo and Rin. Soon, the couple was out of sight, sitting together in the field. The sunrise was slowly illuminating their faces, and Kagome closed her eyes to take in the sunlight.
"It's beautiful, one of my favorite moments in the day." Kagome said softly.
"Kagome," Sesshomaru started, "about last night…"
"yes?" she looked at him, "we kissed."
Sesshomaru moved closer to her, "this one would be honored to do it again, if it pleases you."
"it would," she whispered, "but what does it mean?"
"it seems," Sesshomaru was once again just barely heard against her lips, "that I am yours, and if you'd like…. you're mine...at last."
Kagome closed the gap between their lips and allowed herself to melt into him, the kiss growing in passion as Sesshomaru returned the kiss, wrapping his arms around her to pull her into his lap.
Back at camp, Inuyasha was jolted awake with the smell of incoming wolves. Kouga was coming, and he was close. Jumping from the tree, he looked for Kagome. Seeing her missing, he panicked. He ran to each of his sleeping friends and shook them awake, shouting.
"Kagome is GONE and Kouga is nearby! He probably snatched that wench up again! Get UP! We gotta go find her."
Sango sleepily took an inventory of camp as Miroku yawned.
"Sesshomaru's gone too, Inuyasha, I'm sure Kagome is fine."
"With the BOTH of them on the loose? Really Sango?"
"Don't tell me you still don't trust him around Kagome after all this time, Inuyasha." Miroku stood up, moving to the pond to wash his face.
"Why not just leave her be?" Kikyo asked, "she's more than capable of fending off the wolf."
Inuyasha spun to face her, leaning down to kiss her, "good morning Kikyo. You may be right, but I don't want to take any chances with that disgusting wolf. He plays dirty."
"At least wait until after breakfast gets started?" Kikyo asked softly, as everyone rolled their eyes. Inuyasha nodded and sat next to her as she prepared tea for them all.
Thankful as they were to have Kikyo leading Inuyasha to see sense, her tone made them cringe. Sango moved to start making oatmeal with fresh wild berries for their breakfast as Miroku woke the children and took them to wash their faces and begin the day. It was once Kikyo put the teapot to boil, did Inuyasha gather the adults of the group up, leaving Jaken to watch the children, and marched out of camp to find Kagome.
While they were gone, Kouga and his wolves arrived, confused at the emptiness of the camp. Ginta and Hakkaku rolled their eyes as Kouga questioned Jaken about the whereabouts of Kagome, laughing when Jaken's snarky comments got him bopped on the head enough for a visible lump to form.
Kagome and Sesshomaru kept kissing as they watched the sun rise, neither wanting to ruin the moment with the logistics of their decision. It was during a kiss that they heard Inuyasha's voice at the edge of the field, the sound quickly separating the two as Kagome slid off Sesshomaru's lap to land in front of him. She flipped her journal open and started writing, Sesshomaru doing the same as Inuyasha came running up to them.
"Kagome you can't just disappear like that! Kouga is in the area! You want to get kidnapped again?!"
Kagome rolled her eyes, "Inuyasha, I'm more than capable of being alone with Kouga. Plus, I'm not even alone."
"you think Sesshomaru would keep you from getting snatched by that mangy wolf?!"
"She's safer in my presence than yours, halfbreed." Sesshomaru scolded, standing up.
"Does she feel safe? Ask her yourself!" Inuyasha yelled.
Kagome stood up, linking arms with Sango and walking toward camp, saying, "of course I'm safe with him, Inuyasha." Miroku walked after them, laughing slightly at what the group thought they saw when they were still at the wildflower's edge. A kissing couple illuminated. By the rising sun. Inuyasha couldn't explain his anger at what he saw, so he raged forward instead.
Sango made a mental note to ask about it later and proceeded to walk into camp with the rest of the group trailing behind her and Kagome at varying intervals. Inuyasha picked up the rear of the pack, sulking behind a stewing Kikyo. A fight was coming between them, and it only inched closer as they recognized the new faces waiting in camp as they entered.
"I knew I smelled a dirty wolf!" Inuyasha spat as he sunk down under a tree. Kikyo poured two cups of tea and rudely shoved one in Inuyasha's direction before settling down a ways away from him.
Kagome smiled at Sango, thanking her for starting breakfast as she gathered the kids up to eat.
"You three are welcome here, as always," Kagome said, handing bowls of Oatmeal to Ginta and Hakkaku before going for two more.
When she handed one to Kouga, he held her hand in his and glowed with appreciation, "My dear Kagome, thank you."
She gently tugged her hand away before getting one final bowl of oatmeal. Hands once again full, she offered a bowl to Sesshomaru, who accepted it with a smile only she could see. He waited until she was settled next to him before he started eating, keeping an eye on Rin and Shippo who were joking and eating nearby. They chatted quietly about the respective books they were reading until Rin and Shippo came running up to them.
"Mama! Can Rin and I play tag?" Shippo asked, "We cleaned up our bowls!"
Kagome smiled, "if you both pinky promise you will not run around pond, you can play tag."
Shippo nodded and thrust his pinky finger out to her, locking it with hers and kissing his thumb- just like she taught him. Rin did the same, and the two ran off to play, leaving the new undercover couple to their quiet conversations.
