Chapter 14: Lord of the Volcano Part 2

Holy Angel Palace Sorcerymon's room

After analyzing the video sent to him by Angemon, Sorcerymon leans back in his chair while sighing in exhaustion, "*ugh* This is a big mess, now we have a new threat to the army. An insect that carries a virus to turn Data type and Vaccine type Digimon into new soldiers for the 7 vices army. So far from the battle feed and data that Seth can scan from these infected individuals it seems like they lose many higher thought processes and the ability to strategize as seen by the Airdramon just now."

Getting up from his mainframe computer Sorcerymon heads over to his data processing computer while picking up his coffee cup, "I just had to get this information while lord Seraphimon was busy discussing the next move for the war with our generals didn't I?"

As Sorcerymon prepares to take another drink from his coffee cup his scanner just finishes taking in the data from the recent battle and beeps loudly while scanning all over the volcano where Angemon 0098 is and where Seth was last headed too, "BEEP BEEP BEEP WARNING! RED ALERT! HUGE SPIKE IN VIRUS ACTIVITY IN THE LAVA RIDGE ZONE! SEND REINFORCEMENTS!"

Sorcerymon spits out his coffee he had just taken in shock and rushes to his computer to see the readings, his hands blurring over his keyboard trying to keep up with the influx of data coming in, "This can't be! It was clear up until a- *BEEP* moment… ago..."

He pauses in shock and horror as the volcano scans are now lighting up with the signatures form the virus insects codes now being recognized as a threat in the area, first there was 3 then it swelled to 7 now there are 11 signals with a twelfth that has a larger and stronger data source in the center of the volcano, that is stronger than any Champion level Digimon he has seen so far, these numbers were approaching Ultimate level stats.

"CRAP!" Grabbing two comm-link devices he tries to reach Seth, "Tamer Seth! Come in Tamer Seth! Are you reading me! Over!?"

*zzzzzzzzzst!*

"Damn it! Comms are being jammed! Angemon! Can YOU hear me? Hello!?"

*zzzzzzzzzst!*

Growling in frustration he slams the first comm-link back onto its charger and uses the other one, "Leomon! We have a situation in Lava Ridge Zone! Huge spike in Virus Digimon activity! Do you have any forces combat ready to fight them?"

Leomon's voice crackles over the comm-link, "Negative all Digimon forces left in the Palace are those undergoing training or are the guards who are assigned here in case of enemy attack. The only one I could possibly spare is… him."

Sorcerymon nods hesitantly and looks back to the map with all the blinking red dots painting it' surface, "Then send him in! Seth, Agumon, Biyomon, and Angemon are heading right for a Virus controlled base that has at least 11 signatures and a Champion level signature bordering on Ultimate level stats!"

"WHAT!? You're kidding me! Then he might not be enough for back up! He has only reached Champion level a few days ago with his Kotemon! They have a good grasp of the basics but I doubt they can make a difference against those kinds of numbers!"

Sorcerymon grits his teeth in anger at his own limited options, "Well he is the only one we have right now that is combat ready, it's either we send him in, or Seth and the others fight this battle with the numbers they have."

Leomon's heavy sigh is heard through the comm-link as you can just hear the hesitation in his breathing, before he finally lets out a long tormented sigh of resignation, "Fine I'll prep Klein, BUT! Make note that once I am finished with making sure my Lieutenants have got a good grasp of how to continue training the other recruits I am heading out there myself!"

Sorcerymon nods quickly as he rushes back to his chair and rolls up to his main computer once more before inputting commands that tell it to prep the teleporter for use, "If only we could use this for two way travel but we can only send troops with this thing so far, not bring them back with it. Ugh I hate how I lack good staff to help me finish that problem!"

Turning back to the comm-link as the machine is powering up, "Leomon! The porter is warming up! Get your tamer ready and see how fast you can get ready as well got it? It will be risky to send out our captain of the palace guards, but I would rather have you as back up in case Klein gets over whelmed than have no other options left."

Leomon's determined voice comes over the comms once again, "Roger that Sorcerymon, Leomon out."

Sorcerymon sighs as his teleporter is warming up and goes to refill his dropped coffee cup, "I feel like this is going to be one of those days… May Yggdrasil help them all."

Lava Ridge Volcano Base

The trio find themselves looking up at the mile high volcano that supposedly houses the lord of this area. With some nervous anticipation the group rests at the base of the volcano to prepare themselves mentally for this coming fight, after cooking a fulfilling meal using the volcano's own heat,

Seth pulls out his 3D map of the volcano, "Okay guys we have two main ways we can go about this, one is we sneak in and try to take them out one by one while they patrol the volcano, two is we confront the big boss of the area himself by playing to his no doubt inflated ego as the new lord."

Biyomon nods while thinking about the two plans and weighing the pros and cons of each. Then Agumon thinks for a minute before coming up with something even simpler.

"What if we go with a bit of both? Saberdramon to go around doing sneak attacks while I hold the bosses attention with my Greymon form saying I want revenge for the previous boss of this area?"

Both Seth and Biyomon look to him, then to each other, before finally both facepalming for not thinking of such an idea earlier.

Seth chuckles to himself at Agumon's simple yet effective thinking, "That might actually work better pal, after all we do need to be able to whittle their numbers down, and if the main boss is distracted then we can make a good go of that plan. Alright so Biyomon you'll go in as Saberdramon while Greymon and I take the front and challenge both the boss and his ego so we can make sure he is nice and distracted while you whittle away at his forces. Got it?"

Biyomon nods while looking determined, "It will take me a while But you can count on me for this one guys! Just buy me as much time as you can so I can join you after taking out any more dangerous foes I can find okay?"

Agumon and Seth nod as they pull out a comm-link that will be able to go around Saberdramon's neck so they can keep in contact with her as Seth switches his Digivice's modes to the Digivolution mode for their plan to begin.

Lava Ridge Volcano: Lords Camp

At the Lords camp which looks like a semicircle of caves in the side of the volcano with drapes surrounding a clearing in the center with an arena carved right into the volcano's plateau. The arena looks to be 25ft deep and almost the size of a football field, there are Digimon going around the small community looking exhausted and also fearful as the lords cave right in the middle of their community suddenly bursts with flames as a blood curdling scream is heard from within and a shattering sound is heard.

All the Digimon that were walking around doing patrols or chores suddenly tense up and quake with fear at hearing, "AAAAAAAAUUUUUUGGGGHHHH!"

Only to see a charred egg with red and green scale patterns roll out of their new lords cave with a plume of smoke of heat. They all look with shaking legs and bodies at their lords cave entrance as he laughs from within at another 'weak' challenger being defeated without much of a fight.

This was the 5th challenger since the defeat of their beloved lord Greymon who was defeated just a day ago, and now the Digimon are starting to lose hope that they will be able to get out from under this Virus Digimon's claws.

There are a few still hoping that the Holy Angel Palace will send someone to investigate the sudden silence from this area since they are allied with Lord Seraphimon, but they can only hold onto that hope for so long since the palace is busy with the war.

That's when they hear stomping coming from outside the village as two figures come into view. One is a tall 20ft orange dinosaur with a familiar tri horned helmet with blue stripes and the other is a 6ft tall humanoid figure draped in a heat resistant travelers cloak.

They come fully into view to reveal a human and a Greymon standing at the gates both with determined glares looking at the twin guards, both of them being corrupted Tyrannomon's.

The corrupted Tyrannomon's look the same as their counter parts except that their green spines and stripes are now a dull gray with their red body scales turning dark purple and their once blue eyes are now glowing red.

(Cue Nightcore Heart of Courage)

The two corrupted Tyrannomon guards growl at the Tamer and his Greymon and charge together to subdue them both.

The human brings out his sword and shield and charges one of the guards while the Greymon engages the other Tyrannomon guard in a grapple as they clasp their clawed hands onto each other wrestling to push the other one over.

The human manages to slide between the legs of the large Tyrannomon and slice his ankles and Achilles heels on both legs as he slides beneath him. Turning around right as the Tyrannomon falls he rushes up the downed Dino's leg and up his back slashing and shield bashing as much as he can causing many cuts and gashes to leak data from the Tyrannomon's body. He rears up in pain and anger trying to roll onto his back to flake off his current attacker.

Seth jump rolls out of the way using his shield as a make shift sled to shield him from the hot ground below him and avoids the roll. As Tyrannomon stops on his back to get back up he unknowingly angles his head at just the right height to get a sharp shield edge right to his eye causing him to crash back down in pain at the sudden surprise attack. He tries to swivel his head around to find his foe but as he turns his head towards where the shield came from he is ambushed by a high leaping human with his sword in a two handed reverse grip ready to spear him through his eye. Tyrannomon tries to turn his head once more but the human descends faster than he could react properly at the surprise attack and thus the sword that is 3.5 ft in length goes to the hilt in the Tyrannomon's eye causing a huge gush of red data bits to explode from the point of the stabbing.

There is one short roar of extreme pain before the Tyrannomon goes limp and dissipates into data and turns back into an egg that is bright red with green stripes. Seth recovers his shield and checks his sword before turning to check on how Greymon's fight is going.

After their initial grapple Greymon shocks his foe by rolling back and kicking up at the same time causing the Tyrannomon to be airborne for a few precious seconds that allows Greymon to find his feet and unleash his "Nova Blaze!" attack right at the Tyrannomon's chest. The large stream of concentrated fire flies at Tyrannomon and hits him square in his chest. This results in Tyrannomon crashing onto the ground again with a huge scorch mark on his torso and a small concussion that has him seeing stars.

Doing his best to get back up Tyrannomon stumbles to his feet to see Greymon with his head tilted down to where his horns are aimed right for him calling out, "Great Horns Attack!" as he is already mid charge ready to impale him. Tyrannomon with his corrupted mind does the first thing that comes to mind, "Blaze Blast!" scorch the thing attacking him. The huge blaze of flames comes out and slams into Greymon's tri-horned helmet. The small torrent of flames is solid for 2 seconds before they break apart at the charging form of Greymon having not been slowed by them by much and thus hits Tyrannomon right in his chest causing a horn tip to stab all the way through him and out the back.

In pain and leaking out red data from the entrance and exit wound Tyrannomon tries to pry Greymon off with shaky hands and arms but instead finds himself being lifted off the ground and thrown into the air by Greymon once again. Were he is treated to a "Nova Blast!" attack that has the fireball be 15ft in diameter collide with his airborne body before incinerating him and reducing him to a Digi-egg.

(End music)

The human and Greymon both stand with determined faces as they walk further into the camp causing the Digimon who were living in fear to slowly come out of their hiding places with hope starting to fill their eyes and hearts once again. With whispers being muttered between them.

"Another Greymon has come?"

"Is that a Tamer with him?"

"Is he one of the ones here to save the world?"

"Are we going to be freed?"

"Hopefully he is strong enough."

And other such whispers go about but Seth and Greymon keep their eyes trained on the leaders cave as they approach the arena in the middle of the camp. Stopping at the edge of the pit Greymon yells out, "HEY! NEW LORD! I AM A FRIEND TO THE PREVIOUS LORD AND I AM HERE TO FIGHT YOU FOR HIS HONOR AND FRIENDSHIP! NOW COME OUT AN FACE ME! OR ARE YOU ONLY COMFORTABLE WITH FIGHTING THOSE WHO ARE WEAKER THAN YOU!"

That did it as an enraged roar echoes out from the cave and washes over the entire camp causing a small but powerful tremor to shake the camp. They hear a deep rage filled voice that sounds like a mix between a serpent and a dragon, "Very well hatchling I will show you how strong I REALLY am and when I have beaten you and crushed your egg your human pet will become my dinner to help me remember the day I crushed yet another Greymon between my jaws! MUWAHAHAHHHAHAH!"

Huge footsteps echo from the cave as the new "lord" of the volcano appears and make Seth sweat slightly and also realize why the stats he recorded were so powerful. A Deltamon had been corrupted by this strange virus and grew much more powerful.

Deltamon is a Dragon/Dinosaur type Digimon that has a dark purple body with a white underbelly, he usually stands between 20-30ft but this one is on the 30ft end which is 10ft larger than his Greymon. Deltamon also has twin dragon tails one coated in the same dark purple scales and the other which has a metal covering of artificial scales half way down it's length. On it's right arm is a large gator like mouth mixed with a dragons design creating an intimidating visage that has a metal face covering instead of regular scales and this head is attached to the arm of Deltamon using cybernetics and mechanisms that make it seem like a cyborg arm versus a natural arm. The left arm seems to have lost all skin and muscles as it seems to be a large dragons skull with intricate bone segments attaching itself to the rest of Deltamon. Each of the 3 heads all seem ready and willing to fight and the virus filled red glow of all of their eyes is not helping Greymon in keeping himself brave in the face of this new adversary.

Giving out one more roar all three heads sound off their battle cry causing a large sound wave to resonate with all present shaking them down to their bones. Greymon takes a determined step forward roaring back and causing a similar tremor in all present. Deltamon looks pleased and jumps down into the battle pit with Greymon landing in the other end.

Both Titans stare each other down ready to fight as Seth and the other residents gather in the pits edge to watch what will soon unfold for their futures.

Lava Ridge Volcano: A Patrol Route

A corrupted Airdramon flies through the sky watching the proceedings below seeing if Deltamon needed help before he is suddenly assaulted by a golden metal pole smashing him back 25ft through the air. As he stops and growls at his attacker he charges right for the Angemon who dared attack him in his patrol of his assigned area.

On the ground in one of the patrol trails a corrupted Tuskmon who has dark black tusks and his green scales have turned a sickly red. Is walking down the path to join his lord in the camp at the sound of battle when he is suddenly hit from below in his stomach. He looks around confused at the sudden attack as he is struck from his own shadow once again this time on his chin as he growls out and tries to stab into his own shadow and sees a smaller shadow dart out and appear in front of him down the path. He readies himself seeing a Saberdramon emerge and fly at him as he counter charges.

In a look out tower in another part of the Volcano a corrupted Tyrannomon watches carefully seeing an Airdramon scout under attack and a Tuskmon under attack while his lord is busy with his own foe. He goes to sound the alarm as he was simply commanded to do if he sees intruders, but is removed from the tower as it is cut down. He rolls and lands on his stomach trying to stand only to see a pair of blades pointed at him from a Dinohyumon and a red haired human with a large great sword in his hands. They charge him as he gets ready to blast them with his fire.

High above the Volcano emerges Devimon from his gate getting his bearings he Watches the carnage below him keeping an eye on everything and waiting for his chance to grab Seth if we can. But for now he will do as Wisemon suggests and watches their creations at work to see their effectiveness.

The one thought going through everyone's head is the same,
