CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-NINE

Website where all photos of all outfits mentioned is on my profile.

I'm still laughing when I jump out of the truck, letting Doj out he runs straight to the front door and stands there waiting while the three bikes that followed me stop and the riders dismount. Miles winces in embarrassment when I catch a glimpse of his face and erupt into fresh giggles.

"Sorry Miles. I forgot to tell you." I spit out through the laughter that is still shaking my shoulders.

Happy and Jax chuckle at the embarrassed prospect as we all walk towards the front door. Jax pushes the door open and lets Doj through first, his claws clacking against the tile as he trots to the kitchen. Gemma's head appears through the doorway "Oh good, you're here. Guys are all outside, take the dog with you. Sarah I need your help."

Jax leans down and kisses me firmly "Love you babe."

I look up at him "I know."

Watching as he and Happy go through the back door with Miles trailing them the dog dancing around their feet I smile and step into the chaos of Gemma's kitchen. "What'd ya need help with Grandma?"

Gemma glances over at me from where she's stirring a pot of potatoes "Nice shirt." She snickers "I didn't really need help. Did you bring dessert?"

Holding up the tin in my hands I nod once "Of course."

Gemma leans over and opens the pantry door, "Find a space."

Donna's head shoots up from where she was cutting the ends of an enormous bag of beans "What'd ya make?"

Sliding the tin onto a shelf I close the door before winking over at her "Something you will adore, I promise."

Donna rubs her hands together before picking up the knife again and slicing through the next handful of beans. "Seeing you're here, you can start on the corn." She aims the tip of the knife at the bag full of corn sticking out of a bowl.

Dropping into the seat across from I sigh gratefully when Gemma sets a glass of wine in front of me "Thanks Gem. What are we eating tonight?"

Gemma returns to the stove as Neeta appears through the back door "Steak, mashed potatoes, beans and corn if you girls can get your asses moving. And salads."

Gemma laughs and waves the spoon she's holding in the air "Keep ya panties on, Sarah just got here. Let her have a drink before you start issuing orders."

Snorting as I pick up the glass I wink at Neeta "It's too late for that, someone already stole the bosses hat."

Gemma glares at me and points the wooden spoon at me "You be careful there baby, I know where you sleep. And I have a key to your house."

"Ahh fuck." I mutter "I was meaning D Gem. She's the one that put me to work like a slave driver."

Donna leans over and plucks the glass out of my hand setting it just out of reach "You can have it back when that corn's done."

"Shucks." I mutter, pulling the bowl closer "How's it being cooked?"

Gemma stirs the pot once more before sitting at the other end of the table with a pile of salad stuff in front of her "Why?"

"Cause if the guys are barbecuing the steaks they can do the same with this, if you have some foil?"

Gemma shrugs picking up a lettuce and pulling the leaves off "Check the cupboard."

Hauling myself back to my feet I find a huge roll of foil in the bottom of the pantry and grab the butter from the fridge and the salt and sugar from the bench, returning to the table and the curious looks of my table mates. "Just watch."

Pulling the husk of the first ear of corn I strip all the silky strands off and snap it in two, tearing off a sheet of foil and dropping it to the table the corn gets put in the middle with a bit of butter, a big pinch of salt with a tiny pinch of sugar added. Wrapping the whole thing into a neat bundle I set it to the side and grin. "Stick it on the BBQ for 10 minutes, turning once and trust me, you will love it."

Gemma shrugs "It's your head if they don't."

Donna laughs handing me my glass back "And Gemma's idea if they do."

"Damn straight!" The SAMCRO Queen states with a smirk at me. "How was Happy?"

Donna bounces in her seat "Lets see, lets see."

I reach up to pull the cover off the freshly done ink but before my hand reaches shoulder height a hand grabs hold of it and pushes it back to the table.

Looking up into Happy's dark eyes I swallow hard as he shakes his head "Nope."

The single word stops the conversation and Donna shoots an apologetic look at me as Happy crouches down beside my chair "2 hours, you gotta wait. It's not that long cupcake."

I frown but nod once "Sorry Hap."

Getting back to his feet he pulls a 6-pack of beer from Gemma's huge fridge "S'okay."

Rolling my eyes after he walks back through the door Neeta shakes her head in wonder "You have those boys eating out of your hand already. I don't know anyone, other than Clay, who could get away with that from him."

Gemma chuckles and slices through a cucumber "That's cause Hap was her knight in leather armour when she was younger and my son kept dropping her in the shit."

I tilt my head to the side and blink slowly "What?"

Gemma sets the knife down on the board and looks at me for a few long seconds "I knew every time Hap had to come rescue you cause my bone-headed boy abandoned you somewhere with no ride. Clay may think he hides shit well but he doesn't, each time it happened he'd find some reason for Jax to be shovelling shit for the next 2 weeks."

My eyes widen in shock as I try and think of the number of midnight rescues Happy had come on when the four of us would go somewhere and Jax'd end up buried in pussy leaving me to either wait while he got his rocks off or to ring for a ride. After the first time waiting for 5 hours I never waited again.

"My garden was well fertilised for a long time baby. My son may have worked it out now but back then Jax didn't have a clue why he kept getting stuck with garden duties."

Almost like he knew we were talking about him Jax saunters through the door and past the table, dropping a kiss on my head "When you wanna wash your neck I'll come help."

Reaching up and grabbing his hand before he gets out of reach I tug on his fingers till he turns around with a smirk "I know you're not ready to wash it yet. What's up?"

I grin at him in a slightly evil way and a minute shudder runs up his back as his eyes widen fractionally "We need to make sure the garden at your place is done before we move. Your mother was just telling me about how good you are at shovelling fertiliser."

Jax glares at his mother "That's what we have prospects for, and as far as I know there aren't any sons around who are ditching their step-fathers niece."

Gemma quirks her head to the side in an 'oh well' gesture "Before you feel the need to run off somewhere with Sarah. She's helping with dinner so go do whatever it was you were going to do and forget those thoughts of christening any part of my house."

Jax leans down and presses a firm kiss to my lips before turning his smirk to his mother "There ain't a second that goes by that I'm not thinking of christening something with Sarah."

Blushing red in a fraction of a second I turn back to the mountain of corn and start ripping the layers off it as the women around me cackle with laughter.
