21. Chapter 20: War Reaches the Homefront 2

Hey there everyone! I hope you are all enjoying yourselves with this new year! I am posting this as soon as I was done with it after all the holiday craziness and stress. I hope you all enjoy this and don't worry the finale of this arc will be coming soon.

But I hit my groove for this section after finding out my friend SilverfangDancer98 on youtube has recently been posting walkthrough/reactions to the Digimon games called Digimon Cybersleuth and Digimon Survive. Both are fun, both has his amazing and hilarious reactions, and both are Digimon related. The 7th war

Chapter 20: The War Reaches the Home front II

Holy Angel Palace: Radar Room (minutes right after the invasion force is detected)

Sorcerymon comes running into the room after hearing the news from Kudamon that there was an invasion force coming. He wracked his brain trying to think of how they could have gotten that information of the hole in their radar system before remembering they had captured his brother. They must have brainwashed him or corrupted him with a virus and had him help them in some way! Damn it! I should have seen that coming!

Switching gears he immediately rushes to the comms and calls Commander Leomon, Seraphimon, the Angemon Commander, and the defense force leader Greymon to attention. "Red alert to all stations! We need every champion we have along with every Ultimate we have left in the palace to battle stations! This is not a drill! We have a force of 300 Virus Digimon all Champions from what we can see coming in!"

Angemon and Greymon immediately nod and end their calls to get their troops ready. Leomon nods and ends his call to get the Tamers to the safety bunker since less than half of them have their Champion forms unlocked. Seraphimon looks to Sorcerymon on his personal video call and resolutely says, "Sorcerymon, my friend, I am sending a squad of my personally trained guards to you. And I don't want any arguments over this! You are important to me and the army along with your staff you are a priority alongside the Tamers and the Commanders to see this invasion through!"

Sorcerymon gulps then asks, "What about you lord? You are the leader of the 7 Virtues army! Without you at the helm our cohesion will..."

Seraphimon smiles under his helmet at his friends concern, "Worry not friend, I will be fine, I still have my secondary squad of personal guards ready to help me take the fight to the courtyard so we can leave the throne room safe and whole. Now prepare yourself for the fight of your life!"

The call ends and Sorcerymon looks up with a determined look in his eyes, he turns to his staff and orders all Rookies to the safe rooms while all Champions gather and prepare to defend their computers and systems as best they can with the reinforcements they will be getting soon. After Sorcerymon has gathered himself, Gatomon, Wizardmon, and his 3 assistant Angemons into the lab for the defense line. The reinforcements from Seraphimon come and help swell the numbers to 21 defenders, adding 5 Angemons, 5 Greymons, 3 Tyrannomons, and 2 Knightmons.

The Knightmon are Ultimate level Digimon that look like your classic knights only they are 7ft tall, and wield a large shield on their backs the size of their bodies, a large claymore sword that has steel edges and a golden center to it with one more blade on his hip for a backup weapon. Both boast a powerful Defense and a huge Attack. They are true defenders of the battlefield and will uphold their duties to their last breath. They are perfect for defending the lab to their last swing of their powerful blades.

As the reinforcements get into position Sorcerymon activates the defense doors and blast windows to reinforce the palace as a whole from the incoming threats. Even some turrets appear out of the walls and towers to aid the defenders from aerial threats and some ground threats, the turrets can help them up until Champion level enemies but thankfully no Ultimate or Mega level foes have appeared on their scanners. All they can do is rally their troops remaining in the palace and prepare for the coming battle.

Courtyard of the Holy Angel Palace

The courtyard where all the Tamers were training was in complete chaos, Leomon was growling to himself for his oversight in not letting the Tamers know the proper emergency procedures to avoid this kind of event in the first place. The Tamers themselves were running all over the place with their Digimon partners trying to calm them down to prevent any injuries. Only a few were completely calm and collected as they were the ones who had strong partners who had already Digivolved and were trying to participate in the defense of the Palace. Leomon was sorely tempted to have them participate in the defense force as they would bolster their numbers by 350, more than enough to push the remaining defenders of the palace from their small 150 members to a solid 500, but the Tamers had not seen proper combat yet or had time to train teams or squad formations. They were unfit for battles of this magnitude.

Looking to the darkening sky as all 300 enemies flying in were seen as a large dark cloud in the horizon. He gulped as he knew he would be fighting his hardest but with most of their defenders being champions with maybe 30 Ultimates left in the palace and one mega level, (Lord Seraphimon) they were sorely understaffed for this kind of event. But he shook his head anyway and yelled out, "All Tamers who have reached Champion level! Make your way to the main building to defend the doors to the interior from the antechamber and foyer! We can't lose the palace no matter what! My men and I will defend the courtyard, if the enemy breaks past us and into the palace you are to take them down with everything you have and have trained for! Am I understood?!"

Hearing the voice of their commander shout out the Tamers all come to attention and yell back, "Understood Commander!" And they all rush to the interior of the building to prepare their daring defense.

Leomon turns to one of the Greymon near him and tells him, "You and your squad are to take the remaining Tamers who only have Rookies to the bunker room until this is over, you and your squad are to protect it until the last mon! Am I understood solider?"

The Greymon nods his head with a "Yessir!" and grabs his squad of another Greymon, 2 Angemon, a Tyrannomon, and a Kabuterimon. They corral the remaining 650 Tamers into a group and lead them to a side entrance that will allow the humans to hide with the servant staff Digimon in the panic room for all non combatants. As they leave Leomon snorts in growing anger at this situation right as a squad of Knightmon come out and join him and his troops to defend the courtyard, 10 Ultimates were a welcome sight as he draws his blade with his left hand and readies his energy over his right for the closing in invasion force.

Leomon sees the turrets and cannons appear and know that they will have all the support they can get in the coming battle. Going into a combat stance his troops all mirror him with their own battle ready stances and roar as one as he raises his sword in preparation and in motivation for this troops to follow.

Then the first blasts from the enemy hit the ground and the defense barrier with a loud, KATHOOM!

Holy Angel Palace: Radar Room

The opening salvo of blasts rock the palace as Kudamon, Gatomon, Wizardmon, and Sorcerymon all look to the ceiling and walls of the laboratory with the dust particles floating down. The other defenders in the lab all prepare for the worst as the sounds get stronger and right when the sounds reach a pitch the alarm sounds from their radar station. Kudamon flies over to the radar and then drops to the chair and looks deathly white. "Kudamon! What is it?" Sorcerymon comes over to his lab assistant to see what he saw, and what he saw made him also gulp and pale in fear. The cloud had seemed to multiply as 600 extra signals suddenly appeared on the radar, making the invasion force triple to 900 enemies.

Sorcerymon gasps and runs over to the commlink to let his allies know, "Lord Seraphimon! Commander Leomon! Warning! The invading enemy had hidden allies on them! They are dropping off ground enemies and have swelled from the initial 300 all the way to 900 enemies! Prepare accordingly!"

Leomon gives a choked gulp and then ends the call to rearrange his defenders, while Seraphimon stays on the line and then breathes out a sigh of resignation. Sorcerymon notices this and asks, "Lord? Are you okay? If you are worried, then don't worry we will fight to the last mon, and with the help of the tamers we have a solid chance of fighting off these invaders! We can protect this location!"

Holy Angel Palace: Throne Room

Seraphimon smiles beneath his helm at his friends words, but then looks to the courtyard from his throne room and then breathes out once again, he goes to his communicator as the enemies are now at their gates slowly breaking them down. The barrier protects the sky over the palace but doesn't protect the walls and gate of the palace to allow them to conserve energy and strengthen the anti air barrier.

The communicator beeps on as he opens the line to his fellow 7 virtues as their faces appear on the video chat while keeping Sorcerymon on the line. The 6 faces who appear on the screen are revealed to be Ophanimon, VictoryGreymon, Cherubimon (Good), Gallantmon, Imperialdramon (Fighter mode), and the final member is revealed to be Anubismon. With Seraphimon the 7 Virtues of the holy alliance are revealed. Each member of this council is named a general after each of the crests they are deemed to protect and harness the power of when the time arises.

Seraphimon is known as the General of Hope.

Ophanimon is an angel type Digimon of the Mega level who is a 10 winged angel with golden feathers who wears green armor with a battle skirt below it. Her helmet has a golden hair tail coming from it while it reveals her mouth and covers her face, she also wields a twin sided golden lance, a small kite shield with a Pegasus design. And her green armor is trimmed in gold as well, she is called the General of light.

Cherubimon (Good) is a beast Mega level Digimon who looks like a giant pink colored rabbit humanoid who has a white belly and golden rings at the base of each of his ears, he has golden lines going from his head down his belly to his legs. He is known as the general of Sincerity.

Anubismon is another beast type Mega level Digimon who looks like a jackal had been made a pharaoh and was given golden angel wings. He has long strong looking arms with markings going down them. He is also wearing an Egyptian pair of trousers with a flap in front going down to his feet that are covered in sandals. He also wears regal looking arm bands, collar, bracelets, and dreads that all help empower his abilities and attacks. He is called the general of Knowledge.

Gallantmon is a Holy knight/Dragon Digimon of the Mega level who is a tall and regal looking knight. Much like his cousin Digimon ChaosGallantmon he has a joust lance for one arm, a large circular shield, and a cape. But his color scheme is red based for his helmet, cape, and his shields details. But he also has gold accents on his armor as well and a golden hazard symbol with Digimon letters all around his shield. He is known as the General of Loyalty.

Imperialdramon (Fighter mode) is an Ancient Dragon Man Digimon of the Mega level who is a giant nearly 30ft tall. He is covered in black metal armor with white accents and golden trims. He has a cannon on his right arm and a dragon head shaped breastplate on his chest. He has a pair of bright red wings on his back along with a bright blue tail. His head is adorned with a golden spiked crown. He is known as the General of Friendship. His Vice General is the amazing Hi-Andromon who is a constant technology rival to the 7 Vices general Chaosdromon.

VictoryGreymon is a unique individual, a Dragon/Cyborg Digimon of the Mega level who is similar to WarGreymon in many ways, yet different as well. For one thing his great brave shield on the back of the WarGreymon has turned into 4 small armored wings on his back that flourish with the power of the sun to form energy wings when needed. And his weapons are no longer claws but a pair of blades on his wrists that is a long sword blade on his right and a short sword weapon on his left, when needed they pop off to form the dragon soul blade. His body is more streamlined and covered in more futuristic armor allowing him more abilities than normal and more speed while keeping his defense higher. He is known as the General of Courage.

They used to have the general of Love, but they died in the opening battles of this war turning the 8 Crest Guardians into the 7 generals of Virtue.

Thus they worked hard to turn their squads of guardians into the army they have now to fight off the corruption of the 7 Vices army. But while they have a solid army their forces are spread thin to defend every inch of their territory, this is to avoid the various sectors from falling into the enemies hands during this war. Soon they all notice the shaking and rumbling coming from Seraphimons side of the call and they immediately begin to clamor and ask him if he requires reinforcements to defend the palace.

Seraphimon holds his hand up to stop the flow of questions he knows will have no end, gently but quickly he speaks, "My friends, the palace of our alliance is under attack. The enemy has invaded with over 900 champion level threats. They mean to either capture or wipe out our Tamer allies we have called, one of these goals I am sure of. However what we must not do, is panic and play into their hands. Our warp technology is still unstable and in the prototype phase every since Gennai was captured. So all we can do is stay where each of us are needed at this point in time and hold our positions. Leave the palace to me. My men and I will defend this place with our last breath to defend the light of our world. We won't let you all down, not when we are so close to the next stage of this war. Can I trust you all to leave this to me and focus on your sectors?"

One by one each General nod their heads, slowly and solemnly, worried that they will not see their friend again.

Ophanimon speaks up, "My hope, are you sure of this? We are powerful but in the wake of 900 champions attacking us, we would eventually tire and fall under the onslaught. Can I not send you some of my troops to help aid the Defense?"

The other generals all look to her sadly knowing that this was not only their friend who is willing to stand this tide alone, but also her husband.

Seraphimon looks to his wife sadly but with a determined edge to his voice he answers, "I appreciate it my light. But we both know you must lead your troops in your sector right now or you will leave them without a leader. And if you send some troops to me, we have no guarantee that they will get here in time, or that they will be in the right shape to provide aid once they have completed their flight. No you keep them there, and leave this to me and my troops. Besides you must defend Primary Village. If the 7 Vices get a hold of it we are all lost."

Ophanimon sniffles and lets out a few tears knowing her husband is right but with a quick tearful kiss she ends the call before she loses her determination and goes to reinforce her love.

The other Generals all salute Seraphimon and end their calls, all but one.

VictoryGreymon remains on the call making Seraphimon turn towards his courageous friend in curiosity. While this happens another large rumble and explosion rocks the palace as the enemy has redoubled their efforts to break through the barrier as the energy sustaining it grows weaker under the rain of attacks.

Seraphimon stares at VictoryGreymon in silent contemplation until he asks, "Yes, my friend?"

VictoryGreymon asks him point blank, "Who among your Tamers has awakened the Courage crest?"

Seraphimon startles and after checking his friends face for any signs of a joke, sits down to think, Commander Leomon hasn't made any reports of the Tamers tapping into the power of the Crests and he CERTAINLY would have made a report to me personally once he did, either this is simply the crest of courage rebuilding itself sooner than the others, or…

Seraphimons eyes widen beneath his helm in realization and then stands to summon a holo map of the island zooming in on where Seth and Klein are locked in their battle between the zones. Scanning deeply with his best radar technology he sees a reading, a small one, but a reading of the Courage crest being nestled within a Tamers Digivice.

He gasps catching the attention of VictoryGreymon and of Sorcerymon who has remained silent but attentive to this important meeting as he double checks all his systems for any hacks or bugs.

As he does so he finds a random out of place file that should be elsewhere and deep scans it while he refocuses on his lord who startles once again as he realizes that Seth carries the new growing spark of the reforming Crest of Courage.

Seraphimon chuckles in relief and shows VictoryGreymon, "I have found him my friend, he is locked in combat with another Tamer who is a potential holder of another of our missing crests. His name is Seth Silverfang. A good Tamer and promising holder of your source."

VictoryGreymon hums and looks at the data being sent before nodding, "Then once you make it through this invasion and once I am able to leave my troops to my vice general for a bit I shall come and mentor this carrier to wield the power properly. I look forward to when his partner can join me on the front lines of this war to help me push out the 7 vices troops holding up in my lands."

Seraphimon nods in understanding right as a loud beeping breaks the two from their discussion and a furious typing noise can be heard from Sorcerymons end of the call. He gasps in horror as he runs more programs and even calls Wizardmon and a Guardromon over to help him with this situation.

"Forgive me my lords for this loud interruption but we have been hacked! I am rooting out the source but it looks like the 7 Vices managed to get into my radar system and messed with the readings for a few days now, that's why we didn't see the invasion until it was too late! And… NO! They have the data you two were discussing about Seth! We must send aid to him at once otherwise they may aim to either corrupt him to their side or end him to avoid a future obstacle to their plans!" Sorcerymon panics and shoots out as he focuses on his attempts to unhack his own systems from the worm inside them.

The two generals send panicked looks to each other right as the palace rumbles with a loud earth shaking explosion sending Seraphimon kneeling and seeing alarms appear all over his throne room letting him know the barrier was broken and the enemy are flooding in through the gate and the air.

He looks to his friend who nods and ends his communicator line to gather some troops to send to Seth while his friend is busy.

Seraphimon stands resolute in the face of the coming enemies, "Come then enemies of the light of this world! I will send you back to the Digital barrier of this world to be reborn purified of your sins and corruption!" With a flourish of his wings he heads to the center of his throne room to wait for his foes to come knocking.

Courtyard of the Holy Angel Palace: Moments before the barrier fell

Leomon stands ready with his brave troops as the enemy are just about through the anti aerial barrier and the gate, he pulled back all wall defenders to concentrate their strength in the courtyard and to limit those who would be picked off just being individuals guarding set sections of the palace.

With one more, BRAKADOOOOOM!

There is a shattering sound that challenges the loudest concerts ever heard and the barrier breaks at the same time as the gate breaks open. The enemies war cry is heard as hundreds of Ogremon, Golemon, Weedmon, Veggiemon, RedVeggiemon, Woodmon, Fugamon, Hyogamon, and Minotarumon rush through the gates.

From the air comes hundreds of Flymon, Kuwagamon, Devimon, Corrupt Airdramon, Vilemon, and Bakemon.

The defenders all look a bit worried at first as the enemy come rushing in until a lion head made of energy flies into the charging enemy ranks and explodes taking out 4 of them immediately. Leomon lets out another, "Fist of the Best King!" taking out 3 fliers before his roars out "Follow me! For the Light of the Digital World!"

(Cue battle music – Log Horizon Utsukushiki Assassin Extended)

The others echo this chant and counter charge, 70 fliers head up to attack the aerial enemies while Leomon bravely leads a battalion of 90 against the incoming ground based enemies. The Knightmon flanking him in an arrowhead formation charge to pierce the enemy line. And once the lines clashed, the entire courtyard erupted into chaos.

The front lines of the enemy formation cracked and broke beneath the combined might of Leomon and the 10 Knightmon who digitized at least 25 enemies in the opening clashes of the battle.

But as they lost momentum and were slowly surrounded by the superior enemy forces they instead formed a ring of defenders to avoid being flanked. The enemy numbers had dropped by a solid 75 already from the ground fighting alone. The turrets were working over time as well shooting and weakening the enemy forces who remained. And some enemies broke off to invade the palace after the ring was thoroughly surrounded by their members.

The turrets and guns did their best to slow or even stop their approach but the best they could do was digitize about 25 of the approaching enemies before they got to the doors and blasted them off their hinges.

With a cry of excitement the enemies launched inside the doors only to stop and stare in confusion at the foyer where about 350 Tamers waited next to their partners who were all in Rookie form. Seeing all the low level defenders the enemies began to laugh and ready a charge before a single call echoed throughout the chamber, "DIGIVOLVE!"

The enemies all gulped at the Rookies all at once Digivolving to their Champion forms. Now the invading force of 500 who made it past the initial defenders were left gobsmacked as their enemies stopped them at the door and now started to fight them throughout the foyer and inner chambers of the entrance hall.

While the inside was being destroyed from the fighting going on with the defenders fighting tooth and nail to deny their enemies further entrance into the palace. Some enemies were making their way inside by scaling the walls of the palace themselves, such as some Kogamon and Vilemon. They managed to find some windows and get inside through them after they were shattered by some passing Flymon using their stingers to shoot the windows in. Their job done the Flymon return to the aerial battle and barely dodging the anti aerial guns to continue whittling away at the air defenders. The invaders make it through the now shattered windows startling some patrolling Angemons in the process. They began to fight but with them all being around the same level of strength and skill, the 3 Angemon were held up by only 3 invaders while the rest charged towards the throne room to get at Seraphimon with some sort of device tucked away in their hands. And the rest of them went to the lab to keep the barrier from being redeployed and to shut down the defense turrets that were keeping the fighting outside to an even playing field.

10 make their way to the throne room, while 35 make their way to the lab.

The lab doors, reinforced with blast doors, and defended by a pair of Knightmon were standing by and ready for the encroaching enemy forces. When the Kogamon and Vilemon came rushing down the hall, Both Knightmon prepare their main clay more swords and draw their arming swords as backups to dual wield both their swords. They counter rush into the mass of enemies to hold off as many of them as they can.

Both Ultimates manage to hold off 5 each. Soon as they begin to deal dmg and cuts to their enemies the remaining 25 enemies reach the doors, but instead of blasting them open the Kogamon there begin to hack into the door controls. They attach a tablet that is directly tied to their hackers back at HQ to begin their work while worriedly looking back at the fighting just a few yards from the door. The Knightmon were beginning to cleave through their enemies as another Vilemon turns into a Digi-egg. There were 5 others on the ground leaving just 4 enemies to hold the Ultimates back. Kogamon tsks to himself before hearing the beep of the door unlocking he grins as the doors slide open allowing the Vilemon ready to flood the lab.

They all lose their smiles and gasp in horror at the sight of a bunch of Champions standing there ready with their signature attacks prepped to blast them. Kogamon manages to dive out of the way but the Vilemon troops aren't so lucky. They get blasted by a combination of rockets, holy rays, and fireballs from the defender inside the lab. Leaving slightly singed Digi-eggs behind Kogamon looks behind him to see the Knightmon approaching with the rest of his squad as eggs behind them and sees the lab defenders coming through the door to deal with him. He grunts a bit as he is about to be surrounded before noticing a large blast shaking the palace to its core.

BOOOOOOOOMMM!

All the defenders fall to their knees or lower themselves a bit to stave off the shaking as they look to the nearest window and see a large plume of smoke escaping from the palace throne room. Fearing for their lord the Knightmon turn and begin to head towards the smoke only to see something rushing them from down the hall.

Screeching in anger a SkullGreymon comes charging down the hall. It is close to 25ft tall, (Thankfully it fit the hall thanks to the giant Digimon types that come through here) and looks like a T-Rex skeleton gained some bone spines, a bone horn, and an orange colored missile on its back that looks it it is made of an actual living creature. This Ultimate level Virus type Digimons beady green eyes focus on both Knightmon an dbegins to swipe its claws on each one. Both warriors catch the claws with their swords and the battle begins again.

The defenders rise to their feet as Kogamon rushes towards the lab to try and take out the head researcher and their radar systems.

The Champion levels turn to chase but all balk in shock as from down the hall one of the fortified windows shatter allowing some Kuwagamons, Snimons, and the Woodmons they were carrying to rush through and charge the defenders.

The fighting in the hall gets more intense as more foes join the battle.

Inside the lab Sorcerymon, Wizardmon and their Guardromon friend all breathe a sigh of relief as they shut down and shut out the hacker program they found that was created by an Ultimate level machine type Digimon called Datamon who is notorious for his glass dome head, large metallic gloves, and his 4 small feet that carry him around as he goes about trying to hack into everything and anything. As they sigh though Gatomon leaps up in front of them and manages to punch Kogamons blade away from its path of cleaving off Kudamons head. Guardromon immediately goes to help defend them when a Woodmon from the hall manages to get into the lab and occupy his attention.

Sorcerymon is about to help in the fight when a call comes in from Seths Digivice, He answers it right as he dodges some shuriken thrown by the ninja Digimon. He shoots out a blast of his magic at Kogamon while Gatomon punches away a Vilemon that came towards Kudamon. Wizardmon is currently calling the throne room to check on Seraphimon but no answer is coming to him. The call with Seth goes unanswered as he calls out for anyone to answer him but all he hears is battle cries and explosions before the machine is blasted by a fireball and explodes, leaving him in the dark of the state and fate of the palace.

Holy Angel Palace: Radar Room

Seraphimon pants as he looks to the laughing figure across from him and looks to his now severely singed and burned side with his missing 3 golden wings on his left side.

The laughing figure emerges from the smoke of his attack, and is revealed to be Chaosdromon with his cannons cooling down. He doesn't even worry as he steps on and crushes the Digi-eggs of his comrades who managed to summon him here as he gets closer to his next victim, "HAHAHAHAH! Man you had a good thing going here Seraphimon! A solid Palace base, a solid line of defense, but oh dear poor you! You didn't know we had managed to create a one way teleportation device yet did you!? HAHAHAHA Man I have been waiting to kill you for so long! Ever since you managed to kill my brother Machinedramon in a previous battle! But now I am ready for proof! Proof that I am stronger than him! By killing you!"

He readies his cannons and is charging them up as he laughs at Seraphimons face once again. Seraphimon struggles to his feet and winces in pain, Damn it! I didn't think that package they were carrying was a teleporter, now he is here in my throne room, I should've been faster in taking those invaders down. Now Chaosdromon is here, I am wounded from his surprise attack and I have no backup. But I will be damned if I don't at least try to take him down here!

Chaosdromon then smirks at Seraphimon trying to rise back up to his feet before dropping one more bomb, "I hope you weren't thinking of saving all those Tamers you have hiding in your palace, I plan to brainwash them all and bring them back with me to turn this tide of war to our favor! And we even have a special team hunting down that one human and Digimon partner pair of Seth and Agumon to harness their combat prowess to our side! I hope you weren't banking on them to be a savior of anyone with us hunting them down now! HAHAHAHAHAHA-URK!"

He chokes out as he suddenly feels a tug on his cannons that makes him rear back and fall as Seraphimon had flown up and literally judo flipped him by his cannons to the ground. Getting back up from his fall Chaosdromon raises his head right into Seraphimons charged attack, "Seven Heavens!" The 7 energy stars in the palms of Seraphimon glow brightly and then shoot out a bit from Seraphimon to combine into one large energy beam that covers Chaosdromon completely in the energies light. Seraphimon hears a loud, "SHIIIII-AAAAAAAUGH!" Coming from the mechanized terror, as he is engulfed in the beam and eventually is drowned out by the noise of the energy colliding with him. A large explosion ignites and destroys the other half of the throne room roof bringing their battle to light, as it were, for the other Digimon invaders and defenders alike to see the battle happen.

A singed and very scuffed up Chaosdromon staggers to his feet with a few sparks coming off of his body as the damage may not look as bad at it should, but the Mega level General of Technology is definitely feeling the internal damage caused by such a close ranged powerful energy attack. He grunts as he finishes standing while Seraphimon is holding his hand on his burnt and injured left side as he channels his healing ability Gaia Healing to mitigate some of his damage he took earlier and to recover some of his battle effectiveness.

Chaosdromon chuckles at seeing how the healing is going slowly while his systems are working to relegate some internal systems to keep him in the fight at peak performance to avoid getting surprised by the angelic General of Hope as he tries to recover.

Not giving him much of a chance he readies his main cannons attack, "Hyper Cannon" and prepares to fire at Seraphimon once again.

Seeing this and knowing that without the roof to contain the blast it will hit the courtyard below, Seraphimon grits his teeth and prepares his own signature attack "Seven Heavens" to counter the incoming attack.

Both charge up and wait to see who fires first while the battle rages on around them.

The lab is in a stalemate with the Knightmons being preoccupied by a SkullGreymon, The courtyard and Inner palace are in a stalemate as the weaker invaders have been routed but the remaining Virus Digimon are proving to be the biggest challenges so far for the remaining soldiers. The aerial battle keeps tipping the scales on who has the upper hand as the palace Digimon are fighting in pairs and doing their best to keep each other safe while they are fighting off entire squadrons of enemies.

So far it is bad all around as the courtyard is down to only 50 defenders against 160 attackers, the inner palace grounds are fighting tooth and nail not to give any more ground as the Tamers are down to 150 conscious defenders against a force of 280 remaining foes. The aerial battle was pitched to the point of only 35 friendlies left against 140 enemies.

Leomon still commands his forces as best he can as he fights off 5 Champion levels at once with two Knightmon flanking him each also taking on 5 each. Sorcerymon has managed to help his lab defenders to secure a foothold in fighting off any enemies in the hall and is doing his best magic attacks to take some pressure off of the Knightmons in their battle against the SkullGreymon still in the halls. The Tamers are using all their training and lessons they can to defend their fallen unconscious allies while fighting off the stubborn enemies that just won't let up. The Virtues army will not give up so easily and are still fighting their hardest against the remaining enemies to protect the light of the Digital World.

The two Megas stare each other down as their attacks reach peak charge and prepare to unleash the two ultimate moves to see who comes out on top. With a yell each, the release their moves at the same time. The two moves collide with a great explosion of energy that envelops the remains of the throne room and hides the two megas from any prying eyes for a few blinding moments as the two attacks battle for dominance.

Between the Dragon Valley and Lava Ridge Zones

Seth and BlackGatomon are locked sword to paw before Seth manages to dislodge her from the lock and kick her away. She flips back safely barely feeling the blow and charges him once again.

Klein and Dinohyumon work hard to fight off Kogamon and pin him down as Kogamon is being backed up by FallenAngemon who shoots out a Hand of Discord attack that Dinohyumon manages to slash through while Klein slashes at Kogamon who barely deflects the blade away.

Saberdramon is locked in heated combat against Flymon as they shoot around each other at super fast speeds shooting off shadow fireballs and Flymon shoots off his stingers whenever they get the chance to.

Geogreymon grunts under the punch he just blocked as he blasts Wendigomon with a Mega Flame point blank making the beast type Digimon howl in pain and then headbutt him away just in time to leap back and avoid a "Touch of Evil!" From Devimon who he shoots at with a Mega Burst attack as the Devil Digimon barrel rolls out of the path making the stalemates even closer and more dangerous than before.

With the battle going to a total stalemate Seth begins to plan it out better… with mixed results, Damn it! We are totally on par with their team. That makes me a little happy given our training up to this moment, but that means it comes down to attrition! And Klein and I already used up our fatigue recovery cards for the day! We will get exhausted at this rate!

Seth takes a moment to dodge out of the way of a "Shadow Claw!" That he rolls to the side of and avoids the shadow blades that leave 1ft deep trenches in the ground. Getting up and parrying more claw slashes Seth begins to think to himself again… only this time with with urgency, Holy Shit! Almost got a bad wound that time! This guys are well trained, well coordinated, and are keeping up held together with proper placement! We can't hold on for much longer! Either we need to use a new strategy or we need to use unconventional means to fight them… That's it!

Grinning at the cat Digimon, he reaches out with his shield arm and activates the storage function of his Digivice, BlackGatomon rears back and takes a defensive stance to prepare for anything he might throw her way. Only for her vision to go dark as she is suddenly covered in a thick comforter blanket and a thick curtain used for showers. She yowls in surprise and tries to claw her way out only to hear the tale tell sound of an equipment change.

Seth glances to the now bundled up cat seeing she is stunned and surprised, which gives him just enough time to swap his equipment out from his shield and sword combo to having a longbow with a dangerous metal glint to its foundation. He draws his arrow from the quiver that has appeared across his back and readies the first shot at Flymon who is currently buzzing and dodging a volley of shadow bolts from Saberdramon. Seeing the bee Digimon dodge one way he fires, tracking the movement and prepares another arrow immediately.

Flymon was having a rough time, he couldn't land a single stinger shot on his foe as he constantly had to dodge and see his foe was just as nimble as he was. He prepared to fire again right after dodging another volley of this annoying avian's shadow bolt combo when he suddenly lurches from something hitting his side, and a flash of pain accompanies this blow. Looking to his side in shock he sees a longbow arrow embedded in his side all the way to the middle of its shaft letting him know it was deep in there. He gasps remembering he was in the middle of combat right before he takes a devastating Shadow Talon strike to his mid section. He screeches in pain and prepares to claw at the bird with his forearm blades right as he gets an arrow to his neck this time. He chokes on the arrow right before being blasted point blank range by Saberdramon using her, "Shadow Flame Barrage!" And he is completely engulfed in the shadows, when they leave he is digitizing and falling leaving behind 1s and 0s that fade away as he reverts to a Digi-egg form as he hits the ground.

Saberdramon grunts with a nod at her good work and looks to Seth to thank him with a nod only to see he managed to lodge an arrow into BlackGatomons arm after she had managed to escape the cloths and was attacking him with only one good arm left. But Seth was using the bow as a means to fight back, especially when it is revealed that he is using a blade bow, showing those metallic pieces on his bows body were blades meant to assist him in this battle if the enemy took over his shooting range limit.

Saberdramon notices the fight is slowly going to Seths advantage as he is pushing BlackGatomon back bit by bit with him still having two arms to use and the cat only having one, so she banks hard and goes towards Geogreymon who is still in a stalemate against his two opponents.

Klein and Dinohyumon are back to back covered in scuffs, cuts, and bruises as they stare down their foes, seeing Kogamon with a deep cut on his chest, and a lighter cut on his arm, while FallenAngemon only has a few small cuts along his arms and one bruise on his chest from a kick they managed to land to wind him and break off a blade lock.

The two viruses look to them and FallenAngemon begins to speak, "Give it up, you can't beat us so easily! We will let you live if you surrender now! And we won't think badly of you for it!"

Klein grits his teeth as Dinohyumon readies his blade again, before he lets out a quiet, "Shut up." With a teasing and cruel grin FallenAngemon asks him, "What was that weak human? Did you give me a command?"

Dinohyumon senses Kleins mood and realizes he will need to be ready to support his Tamer. Klein defiantly yells out again, "SHUT UP!" all the Digimon near him flinch back, but while FallenAngemon and Kogamon sneer in anger at his continued resistance to them Dinohyumon smirks at his Tamers heart and determination.

Klein rears his head towards the corrupted angel and begins to seethe at him while he yells out, "You think I am weak, you think we are all weak, but we are here still fighting even though you outnumber us! We won't quit, we won't surrender, and we won't just lay down and let you take over this world! We are here to fight! And we are here to defeat you all!"

As he talks Klein misses his Digivice beginning to glow a pale silver light as that strange cross symbol returns with the same triangles around it on his devices screen. Dinohyumon notices and curiously looks at it before he begins to well with power. FallenAngemon takes a step back at the humans intensity before he also begins to shake at feeling this power welling up within Dinohyumon. He glances at the Digivice on Kleins hip and notices the glow as well before he begins to sweat while wondering why that symbol looks familiar.

Klein continues his tirade at the virus types, "We are here to defend this world from scum like you! And We won't cower to your demands, even if I was the last one standing I would fight till my last breath! I would stand tall for my friends! For those I hold dear! I will be a tower they can rely on to weather the toughest storms, and I will be there for them no matter what!" Klein brandishes his sword without realizing his eyes are now glowing a pale silver light as well while Dinohyumon begins to glow with the same power as well as pale silver wings and armor pieces made of data form around him looking more like a draconic humanoid than his current form. He roars out in agreement with Klein making Kogamon take a step back in fear while FallenAngemon takes a step back in reverence. "So with this blade and body and spirit! I will stand to fight forever more! Have at thee!"

With a rush He charges towards Kogamon who is still shocked at the powerful display of spirit and brings his blade up in a panic to block the broadsword. However Klein unintentionally brings his energy into his blade from his body and shears right through the weak guard breaking both blade and Digimon in two. Kogamon screams in pain as he turns into a Digi-egg.

Dinohyumon rushes towards FallenAngemon only instead of his blade his arm is out stretched like a claw as he rears it back and gathers all the energy into it making it appear like it is coated in silver armor with red plated and digi chrome tipped claws on it. He slashes towards the fallen angel and FallenAngemon brings up his hand of discord to blast him away. But as he unleashes his energy blast, Dinohyumon swings his claws forward into a rending group of cuts pulsing with the energy of the crest him and Klein are channeling. They rend right through his blast as if he didn't even launch an attack making him gasp in fear at what is about to happen. He screams as the attack lands on him and expects to be torn apart, only, he isn't. Instead his heart seems to grow hot as his body pulses with the energy and he yells to the heavens as his eyes glow and the darkness in his body is expelled as his memories are unclouded and brought to the fore ground of his mind. The day he met Sorcerymon when he was just a Patamon and his brother was just a Kudamon. Together they trained, practiced and together they worked together to enter into the service of Seraphimon. The next memory showed them in their champion forms giving each other a forearm shake to show their promise to work together and reach higher limits. Then the next memory is where he held his own against all kinds of foes protecting Seth and Klein on their journey. Then when he held firm in his beliefs until his corruption.

Angemon is fully there again back to normal but where he had his normal metal studs in his chest there was a scar now in the form of the Crest of Reliability over his heart area. With a deep breath he opens his eyes and sees Dinohyumon on the ground in exhaustion before he reverts to Kotemon who groans in tiredness and soreness. He looks to Klein who is also on one knee leaning on his sword in exhaustion as he looks to Angemon with a tired smile. Angemon smiles back at him and with a nod of his head he looks to where Geogreymon and Saberdramon are holding their own against Devimon and Wendigomon before looking to Seth who just finishes off BlackGatomon with a point blank arrow shot through her body turning her into a Digi-egg.

Seth breathes out a sigh of fatigue before turning his attention to Kleins fight seeing Angemon there and back to normal. Seth chokes on his spit in shock before Angemon nods with determination before he flies off to help the remaining fighter with the last Virus foes.

Geogreymon and Saberdramon were having a tough time Devimon had trained himself to the limits of his current form and the difference was felt hard by the two champions. The only reason they were not doing better was because of the shield Devimon had in the form of a durable Wendigomon. They looked to each other before nodding and prepared to finish off the beast type before a blast of holy energy goes by them and slams right into a startled Devimons face blasting him off his feet.

Turning to the source they see a purified Angemon land next to them and go, "Greetings friends, Klein cured me of my corruption, I'm here to help."

With a nod they all startle and turn towards Devimon when they hear a strangled gurgle come from Wendigomon. They see Devimon seething in anger as he glares at them all with absolute loathing. In his right hand held off the ground thanks to his incredibly long arms is a struggling Wendigomon who is choking in the devil Digimons grasp. Devimon angrily looks to the trio of Champions who are prepped for a fight despite their injuries, and then looks to the exhausted humans and Kotemon. But his eye glares deep into Seth's soul as he yells out, "I won't lose to you again! I won't, I won't I won't I won't I won't, not again not again not again! I WILL WIN! AND THIS IS HOW I WILL DO SO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *gulp*"

(Cue-Dark Powerful Battle Music: "DARKNESS BELOW" by Red Moth & Beyond Awakening)

He bites down on Wendigomon who howls in pain as his data is absorbed by Devimon who simply licks his lips as a result of the absorption before his eyes widen and he pulses with energy. With a manic laugh and a burst of red and black energy a large pitch black Digi-egg is formed around him as he yells out, "YYEEEESSSSS! DEVIMON Jogress evolution to! NEODEVIMON!"

With a burst of the same energy made of 1s and 0s the shell breaks apart and flakes away in large chunks, going from crouching to standing the new Ultimate level Digimon stands menacingly in front of the group of brave fighters. He stands the same 9ft tall height of Devimon but now NeoDevimon wears a golden mask with 3 pairs of pale white eye holes in the mask with a pair of horns similar to Devimon but now also colored gold. He now wears a black paldron on his right shoulder, with leather pants that have golden shin guards and large spiked combat boots that each have a pair of deadly looking spikes on the toe area of each. His skin is now gray and his arms now have faded crimson bandages wrapped around both forearms with golden claw tips on each hand. His arms now sport a trio of spikes going up each one as well, and his wings have become a dark red with a wing claw/spike on the joint of each one. With a roar he unleashes his newfound power to be felt by each of the fighters who stand before him.

As they recover from the roar he is suddenly in front of Angemon punching him away against Angemons hasty guard with his staff that creaks from the force of the blow.

His next attack is a powerful kick that lands on Saberdramons rib cage and winds the bird Digimon who leaves a trench from her crash landing.

The final display of power is when he is suddenly in front of Geogreymon and gathers an orb of red energy in front of his palms before unleashing it point blank going, "Negative burst!" the beam of red coats all of Geogreymon painfully as he is blasted back nearly 50ft before he lands in a heap on the ground.

All three champions stagger to their feet despite the pain from the blows and manage to stand. Meanwhile NeoDevimon is back in his original spot flexing his hands into fists and then punching the air with a small burst of force leaving his hand.

The force makes Seth gulp in fear as he realizes that NeoDevimon has endured harder training than they have. More fights than they have, and now has gotten a boost to his abilities that has left their group behind. He was wracking his brain for ideas, combos, and what forms they can use to stand a chance. Klein manages to struggle to his feet despite his injuries, Kotemon comes forward with him barely having enough energy to turn into GLadimon this time with a Recovery card he had left. Gladimon joins their group as Seth nods to Klein and helps Saberdramon turn into her higher attack form of Birdramon with a slide evolution. Birdramon screeches in preparation as Geogreymon stays in his higher mobility form. They all clench their hands, claws, and talons in preparation for the coming fight. Right as Klein and Seth stumble to join the line of brave and weary fighters they all hear a charging sound of energy.

Looking towards NeoDevimon again they see him charging a large red orb again over his mask and launching the Negative Burst attack into the sky to explode in a great show of strength as it paints the sky red for the better part of a mile before the sky returns to a light blue. But as he admires his work the fighters are all shaking and sweating in nervousness at his strength and how easily and quickly he charged up and fired his attack.

He grins behind his mask at the show he put on before looking at the now very frightened fighters, seeing their fear and knowing he has them beat in stats and in freshness for a fight, he simply asks.

"Ready for round two?"
