Christine came to rather slowly, not quite recognizing her surroundings. Everything came back to her slowly and her eyes misted over with tears. Raoul had really done that to her, hadn't he? Sure, she'd slept with Erik but that was mostly for conception purposes. Hell, it had been his idea for her to do so. So it made his betrayal that much worse. She felt stupid when she finally noticed the music that surrounded her.

She stood and slowly approached him, resting her slender hands on his shoulders. He tensed for a moment so she simply massaged them until he relaxed under her touch. "I see you found me.." She mused softly once his playing came to an end.

"Mhm. It wasn't hard seeing as you were unconscious on the steps. Speaking of which, why are you even here?" Erik demanded as gently as he could manage. He was already allowing himself to be somewhat vulnerable with her by allowing her touch.

It became rather obvious that this wasn't something she was entirely ready to answer. Perhaps it was a touchy subject? But at the same time, he couldn't exactly bring himself to care all that much. She hadn't cared too much about the way she'd just left him after the first round, after all.

"... I'm with child ..." Christine finally breathed, chosing to admit the easiest thing first. After all, this was Erik's baby, he did have a right to know. She could only hope to see some kind of reaction to the news but she knew that she wouldn't receive one thanks to the complications that surrounded the conception.

The silence lingered and he stiffened under her hands once more. She would take comfort in the fact that he had not shaken her off as he could've. That had to be a good sign, right? Perhaps a promising one, if nothing else.

"That makes your presence here even more confusing." Erik prompted none too gently. Why was she here if she'd achieved the goal she set out to. Now she and the vicomte could play happy family. Perhaps if they were lucky, his child would be more like them and less like him. The man wouldn't have to be reminded of the beast that he let his wife sleep with.

She frowned and let her hands slip away from his shoulders. His attitude was something that she hadn't expected on some level but she wouldn't deny that it had stung. Especially considering how intimate their second time had been.

"He.. he has a mistress, Erik. I don't know if he's trying to get back at me for something or what..but I couldn't stay there." Christine forced the admittedly painful words past her lips. Even if she hadn't loved him exactly as she should, knowing that he could do something like this to her was something that still stung. Especially when he'd seemed just as torn up about not being able to have a proper family together.

The man before her spun around on his piano bench, looking at her through eyes that were hard to decipher for once. She wasn't entirely sure what to expect. A scolding? Being shouted at? Being forced back into that home where she wasn't wanted or needed? None of them were options she found particularly preferable.

"You can stay with me...if you like." Erik offered before he could really think about what he was saying. It was impulsive and it was much too late to take such an offer back. A part of him didn't want to. Not with the way that it had made her shoulders drop almost immediately, softening her posture.

Christine couldn't stop herself, she threw herself at him, embracing him tightly. It would've been almost impossible to convince the managers to allow her back with her current state. Even if she did gain the help of Madame Giry, there wasn't much a pregnant woman could do upon the stage after all. The crowds wouldn't be interested in a dancing or singing hippo.

"Thank you." Christine breathed, nuzzling her face against his shoulder. She was worried about being pushed away until his arms wrapped around her in return. She felt one of his hands slide up and down her back and she melted into him further. Living underground definitely wasn't ideal, but it was better than having nowhere else to go. She would just have to adjust to it. If Erik could do it, she wasn't sure why she couldn't manage.
