Land of Snow Mission-Part 1
The village may have appointed itself a new leader, but like always, missions still needed to be handed out. Such as Team 7 acting as bodyguards to what used to be one of Naruko's favorite female actresses. Who was famous for her role as Princess Fūn, a tough, brave, and beautiful princess who never gave up and fought for allies.
Naruko wanted nothing more than to get her autograph, only to feel as if a bucket of cold water was poured on her as she watched the woman rip up the paper that she handed to the actress right in front of her face.
"Forget it! I refuse to go to the Land of Snow. Get someone else to play Princess Fūn!" a drunk Yukie snapped angrily at her manager. Seeing this caused Naruko's blood to boil, seeing how this was a woman who she once admired. Having watched every episode of Princess Fūn with Iruka, such treasured memories, Naruko was not going to allow them to be destroyed!
"If you won't play Princess Fūn then fine! I'll play her!" exclaimed Naruko, shocking her own team, Yukie, and even Yukie's manager, turning their wide-eyes toward the blonde who was glaring at the actress.
"You? A pipsqueak loudmouth like you is nowhere near fit to play the role of Princess Fūn," scoffed Yukie which Naruko replied with,
"Since you refuse to play Princess Fūn then I will do it, and not only will I do it-"
"Naruko, calm down and think about what you are saying," Sakura interrupted, laying a comforting hand on the blonde's arm but Naruko was too riled up to pay her any attention as she locked eyes with Yukie and jabbed her thumb towards herself.
"I will do it better than you!" Naruko bravely declared, earning a tired sigh from her team, having known to expect the unexpected when it came to their hot-headed team member.
"Somehow I knew this mission wasn't going to be easy," sighed Sakura, smacking her forehead in the palm of her hand. With Yukie traveling along saying how she wished to witness Naruko's failure in person, a response which only earned Naruko snapping back at the actress, the group finally reunited with the rest of the staff and the director.
After relaying to him about the events that took place at the bar, the director took one look at Naruko and scooted his face closer, invading her personal space. Staring deeply into Naruko's azure eyes who was beginning to feel uncomfortable with the situation. Sasuke standing by her side was glaring at the old man, about to pull him away when the director pulled back on his own; a glint of interest shone in his eyes.
"Young lady, you have the eyes of an actress." Nobody was expecting the man to say that, earning skeptical looks from other actors and staff members, but it was Yukie who stepped in first.
"Director, you can't be serious about allowing an amateur pipsqueak brat to play the role of Princess Fūn!"
"I haven't guaranteed her the role but what's the harm of allowing her to try it out. Besides, didn't you want to abandon the role?" The director, Makino, purposely provoked the actress by stating the truth, which was proved by that scowl she wore on her face.
"Since there are no complaints, young miss, let's get you into wardrobe and make-up!" announced Makino as in seconds a bunch of women holding make-up brushes and clothes appeared behind Naruko who yelped when they placed their hands on her.
"W-W-Wait just a sec! I c-can just henge myself i-into Princess Fūn!" protested Naruko, feeling a little unsettled about having herself and not a henge play the role.
"Nonsense! Be yourself! Blue eyes, blonde hair, and all! Alright take her away and get her ready!" Nodding towards the director, the women amazed Naruko by their impressive strength, hauling her away as Sakura worriedly called out to struggling blonde.
"Do you think Naruko will be okay?" asked Sakura, looking towards the direction Naruko was just dragged off in and soon disappeared.
"Maa, she will be just fine... I think." There was a bit of hesitation in Kakashi's voice that caused both Sakura and Sasuke to glare at their jonin sensei. Meanwhile, one of the actors, Michy, walked up to the director and whispered to him.
"But, director, Yukie's face is already plastered on every movie promotional poster that we sent out. Shouldn't we-"
"Shhh! I have a plan and that young lady is going to help me achieve it. So for now, just play along and do as I say. If this succeeds, something tells me this is going to be a movie that will be remembered throughout history!" grinned Makino, placing all his hopes on the young blonde as when he peered into those azure eyes, a radiance of purity and warmth could be sensed from within the girl. He hoped that would help Yukie overcome whatever was troubling her.
"We've finished with her~!" announced the ladies, shielding Naruko like a wall before parting to reveal their masterpiece. Naruko didn't give people enough time to look at her as she rushed and hid behind Kakashi's leg, clutching it like a koala bear.
"Naruko, let us see you," Sakura kindly called out to Naruko; not even the blonde's face could be seen.
"Now, now, Naru-chan, there is no need to be shy." Kakashi smiled down at the blonde clutching his leg, finding Naruko's actions adorable.
"But... But what if you think I look weird, ... or ugly... or even strange?" Only now did the three realize that Naruko was visibly shaking as it took Sakura, the only girl on the team, to figure out what was bothering her blonde teammate.
'So even Naruko can feel self-conscious.' Bending down right in front of the leg Naruko was hiding behind, Sakura softly said,
"Naruko, it's okay. None of us will think you look weird, ugly, or even strange. We are your friends. So please come out and show us how you look. I will even keep Sasuke-kun in check." Sakura's actions had earned her strange looks from both Sasuke and Kakashi, wondering just when did Sakura start turning into such a big-sister figure towards Naruko.
Nodding her head timidly, Naruko slowly pulled herself away from Kakashi's leg and revealed her make-over to her team, just in time as some of the other actors, along with the director and Yukie, were walking over towards them. To say Team 7 was shocked at what they saw was an understatement.
"You guys are staring at me weird." The cheeks on the adorable being standing before them flushed a nice shade of red; large azure eyes waited to hear what they had to say. Only it was hard since never before had either member of Team 7 seen Naruko so... girly. It was almost like she had transformed into a completely different person.
Instead of a jumpsuit, Naruko wore an orange dress with a sleeveless white layer placed on top with blue trimming. Located right under was a blue obi tied around her petite waist; depicted on the white layer were beautiful designs of green vines and large vibrant sunflowers. Blonde locks were now pulled into a high ponytail, a portion of her bangs was left down to frame the left side of her face.
Pinned to the ponytail was a beautifully tasseled sunflower hair accessory. There wasn't much make-up on Naruko's face, except for her lips that were now painted a glossy shade of light pink. Breaking out of their trance first was none other than Sakura, catching Naruko off guard when the pinkette rushed over and grabbed the blonde into a tight huge, gushing over her appearance.
"Naru-chan, you look utterly adorable~!"
"N-Naru-chan?" Naruko confusedly repeated as Sakura continued fonding over the blushing blonde.
"Kyaa, I just want to hug and treasure you! When we get back home you'll have to let me dress you up more often!" requested Sakura, pointing those big shining emerald eyes at Naruko. Still, in a daze over Sakura's reaction, Naruko dumbly nodded her head. Something which made Sakura squeal once again, rubbing her cheeks against Naruko's.
Kakashi was the second to overcome his shock and afterward wanted nothing but a camera so he could take a picture of this precious moment and show it to Iruka. She of all people could not miss this rare moment that may never happen again. Turning his eye towards Sasuke, Kakashi smiled at seeing the poor boy still stiff as a statue that was only broken when Michy, the same actor Sakura was fussing over earlier, began complimenting Naruko.
"Maa, you certainly are a beauty, Miss Naruko," smiled the handsome actor, causing both Sakura's and Naruko's faces to blush. Seeing such a reaction from his boy immune, blonde teammate and rival caused sparks of lightning to issue from Sasuke's hand, glaring at the actor who was blatantly flirting with his dobe right in front of him.
"Sasuke... you can not Chidori the actor," Kakashi calmly advised, earning himself a heated glare from the Uchiha. When Yukie made her way over, the actress's breath hitched; in that exact second, she saw a vision of her younger self in Naruko. Back when she was still pure and ignorant of the world before tragedy struck and changed her into the person she was today. Shaking those thoughts away, she stood before Naruko as the two locked eyes.
"You don't look that bad, but hear me when I say, you are not suited for the role of Princess Fūn!" declared Yukie to which Naruko determinedly stood her ground and responded.
"We'll just see about that!"
