The ambulance arrived sooner than he'd thought it would and it was a major relief. Unfortunately, because Raoul wasn't family, he wasn't allowed in the back with him. He suspected that the severity of the issue also played a part in this. They didn't want him potentially getting in the way and that was completely understandable.

So he did the next best thing. He cleaned himself up and headed over to Meg's home, intending to check on Christine. He needed to tell her what happened in a delicate manner as the stress wasn't good for their unborn baby and he needed to be able to comfort her. Who would comfort him? That didn't matter at the moment.

He could wait until they knew for sure if Erik would be alright this time around as well. He doubted he'd be very consolable if he wasn't. Christine wouldn't be, either. But unfortunately Erik had a nasty little habit of underestimating what his worth actually was to those around him and how much they truly loved him.

Of course, this couldn't be held against the man in question, not with his upbringing. Yet at the same time, one would think that he'd know better by now. Especially when it came to the two of them. They'd been together for years. This kind of love didn't just disperse and go away so easily.

Raoul was so lost in his musings that he reached the front door of Meg's home before he realized it. He shook his head as if to physically shake himself from his stupor, raising his hand to knock on the door firmly. He waited a few minutes, jumping slightly when Christine was the one to answer the door instead of the blonde woman.

"Sorry, love. Meg asked me to get the door. She's about to shower." Christine informed softly, stepping back so that he could come inside. Her cheeks were tear stained but she seemed calm enough at the moment.

Raoul entered the home and pulled the door shut behind him. He didn't speak right away, simply tugging his girlfriend into his arms. He nuzzled against her and sighed heavily, trying to get her as close as humanly possible. Christine wasted no time in returning the embrace, smoothing one of her tiny hands up and down his back.

He slowly pulled back and ran a hand through his hair with a heavy sigh, wracking his brain for a idea of how to tell her. He decided that there was no real way to sugar coat it or make it sound more better.

"He overdosed, Christine. I don't...I don't know if it was on purpose or not. I really don't. However...either way, it's not exactly good. There has been a major lack of ... communication between the three of us lately. It's something we're going to have to sit down and talk about once we can." Raoul informed softly.

Christine's eyes welled with tears once more and she threw herself against him for another hug. He embraced her without hesitation, stroking her hair. When she buried her face in his chest, he rested his cheek against the top of her head.

This situation was bullshit. It truly was. He'd thought things had gotten better since they first befriended him. They'd been happy. So goddamn happy. Especially Erik. Hopefully they'd be able to get to that spot again, even if they had to fight and claw for it. More was riding on that than their lover really understood and perhaps that was their fault.

It took weeks for them to be able to see Erik, though they were kept informed. It was mostly due to the fact that he was moved to the psych ward once they'd managed to stabilize him and ensure that there hadn't been too much permanent damage done to him. The man was more lucky than anyone could realize, but neither of them could really complain about that.

Ironically, the first time that they were seeing him was also going to be them bringing him home. They knew this was going to be uncomfortable, but they were also thrilled to be doing this.

When they arrived at the hospital, Erik was already sitting out front waiting on a ride. He gazed at them from the bench and for a few moments they'd feared that he'd refuse to accept the ride for whatever reason. But he stood up and hesitantly approached the backseat. He opened the door and climbed in, pulling the door shut behind him.

They waited for him to buckle his seat belt before they pulled off. The silence lingered for quite awhile and Erik stared out the window. He occasionally glanced over at them occasionally, his gaze pleading and unreadable all at once.

"How are you feeling, darling?" Christine questioned softly, opting to bite the bullet. The tense silence was beginning to drive her mad and one of them would have to break if they wished to repair the damage that was unknowingly done to their relationship.

"Oh? So you actually care? This is news to me." Erik drawled without missing a beat. Christine flinched as if she'd been slapped but she didn't argue against it.

"Watch it, Erik. You can fucking walk home if you're going to be an asshole." Raoul snapped, his emotions making him feel more on edge than usual.

Erik flinched before looking away. He wasn't surprised by that response. It wasn't as if the younger man gave a shit either. Christine might care a little more than him, but even then it most likely wasn't that much.

"Raoul, please.. don't be like that. It's understandable...all of this is a big misunderstanding and I don't want it to be made worse." Christine pleaded and to the masked man's surprise, she seemed moments away from bursting into tears.

"What are you on about, Mon ange?" Erik interrupted, keeping his tone as uninterested as he could manage. He wanted to believe what she was saying. That this mess was something that had just been blown out of proportion. But the trust issues wouldn't allow him to do that.

Raoul hadn't been able to answer Christine, but he relented nevertheless, gazing back at Erik. "I think it's best if we talk back home." He informed. The older male nodded ever so slightly and that was it for that moment.

The uncomfortable silence returned. Hopefully they could begin clearing things up without being at each other's throats.
