Buck woke up in his hospital bed and saw Eddie sat in the chair sleeping. Then the door slid open and the doctor walked in. Eddie opened his eyes and saw the doctor,
"Hey" he said to buck sitting up
"Hey doc" buck said
"So Evan, your stitches are healing well and they can be taken about in about 7-10 days. Your head wound is healing well too and your scans are positive"
"So can I go home?"
"I want to let you go home Evan I do but after yesterday, I'm worried about your mental health."
"Please doctor, if I'm healing well physically, sitting in this hospital isn't going to help me mentally. I hate being here, I'm sick of being in hospitals"
"Evan I just can sign it off that I would fully believe you would be safe at home alone"
"He's not going to be on his own" Eddie said
"Eddie?" Buck said
"He's coming home with me. I'm going to look after him"
"Are you sure?" The doctor asked
"Yes I'm sure"
Buck grabbed Eddie's hand and held onto it,
"Okay, I'll file your paperwork to have you discharged today"
"Thanks doc" the doctor left and buck looked at Eddie,
"Are you sure about this?"
"100% buck"
"What about Chris?"
"Chris will love having you there. The decision is made"
"Thankyou for not giving up me"
"I'll never give up on your buck, you and Chris and the most important people in my life. We're a family"
A couple hours later, Eddie had just finished packing bucks stuff up at his to take to his house. Buck was sat outside the hospital waiting for Eddie to turn up. Buck was looking around waiting for him when he saw a car slowly turn into the parking lot. It drove slowly past buck and he watched as the window rolled down. He looked up and saw a man wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. Buck stood up and had a look of panic on his face. The car followed him as he started to walk. Buck walked out the parking lot into the street and carried on walking as the car followed. Eddie was driving down the street when he saw buck walking. Eddie sped up and pulled up next to buck. Buck looked at the car as it sped off down the road,
"Buck" Eddie said to him as he was breathing heavy
"Buck what happened?"
"The car.. it was following me"
"What are you doing out here?"
"I was waiting for you outside the hospital and it pulled in.. the car. He wound the window down and followed me. I carried on walking but he was still there-"
"Buck who was it"
"I think it was Doug"
"Did you see his face?"
"He had sunglasses and baseball cap"
"I'm going to call Athena just calm down ok, let's get in the car"
Eddie pullled his phone out and dialled Athena but it went to voicemail,
"Athena, can you come over to my place as soon as you get this thanks"
Eddie hung up and put the phone away, "if I was him.. he's back.. Maddie, do you think she will be safe?"
"Buck if he does come back. He'll be stupid too and don't worry, Maddie is in the big hospital with nurses and chimney is there too. She's safe and she's going home in a couple of days anyway"
"Yeah.. ok"
Eddie drove home and carried bucks bags inside. He opened the door and put the bags down. Buck walked in behind him,
"I'm gonna take some time off of work"
"You don't have to do that" buck said
"No buck, I want too. We can relax and you won't have anything to worry about"
"Thanks Eddie. I really appreciate all of this but I'll be out of your hair soon enough. I'll be back to work pretty soon"
"Buck, I wouldn't push yourself just yet, you can stay here as long as you need"
Buck sat down on the couch, "I know.. I just want my life to be normal again"
"And it will be very soon. Just don't push it"
Eddie and buck were just getting settled on the couch and there was a knock at the door, Eddie opened the door and it was Athena,
"Hey come on in"
She walked in and buck sat up, "Athena, I saw him.. Doug"
"Where?"
"Outside the hospital, he was following me"
"In a car?"
"Yeah, he pulled into the car park and was driving real slow and then he wound his window down and he carried on driving slow so I started to walk away and he followed me out of the car park"
"Did you see his face?"
"He had sunglasses on and a baseball cap"
Athena turned around and looked at Eddie, "I'm not crazy ok, I wasn't seeing this. I know it was him"
"Okay buck, no one is saying you're crazy. I'm going to check the hospital cameras and see what we can find ok"
"Can you just make sure Maddie is safe... please"
"We will send a couple of officers to the hospital to keep an eye out"
"Thankyou"
Athena left and Eddie closed the door behind her. Eddie looked at buck who was staring out the window sat on the couch,
"You know you're safe right Buck?"
"Yeah I know. I know"
"If you have anything you need at all buck, a rant, someone to cry with I will be that person ok"
"Thankyou Eddie"
They sat watching a movie for a couple of hours and it was getting pretty late and buck drifted off the sleep, Eddie stood up and pulled a blanket over him. Eddie walked to his room and went into bed but he kept his bedroom door open just in case Buck needed him.
Buck was tossing and turning on the couch when he saw some headlights shine through the window He looked at the clock and saw it was almost 3am. He got up of the couch and looked out the side of the window. He saw the black Car the same as before parked up with the lights on. Buck stepped back and knocked a vase on the floor making some noise. Eddie woke up and heard the noise and walking around, "buck, buck?" He said running out of his room and buck was looking out the window and buck turned around and Eddie saw the scared look on his face,
"He's back"
Eddie looked out the window and looked at buck, "there is no one there buck, no car, no headlights"
"It was there Eddie. I saw it. I saw it right"
"Buck.. I think it was a nightmare, a night terror"
"I'm sure I saw him. I'm sure"
"Come on, I'm getting you off this couch. You're coming in my room"
"Eddie, I don't want to be a problem"
"Come on buck, let's get some sleep"
Buck followed Eddie into his room and closed the door behind him. Buck got into the bed and closed his eyes and within minutes, he was asleep. Eddie looked at buck as he was asleep and he turned off the light as he laid down next to him.
