Please also note - as I forgot to tell ya'll earlier - this story ill stray from the main show slightly, and characters will have some extra traits not normally seen.

Chapter 2

Jessica slowly groaned as she woke up in a soft bed. She furrowed her brow and swallowed thickly as her eyes focused on the bag of human blood on the nightstand with a small ring that had a beautiful blue stone on the band. The brown haired young girl slowly sat up and shakily put her feet on the wooden floor still staring at the bag of red liquid. She didn't know how long she had left until she died if she chose not to become a full vampire. How did that man from before gain access to a daylight ring? What kind of witches were wanting to help him? The hazel eyed 15 year old looked at the bedroom door and saw an African American man standing there with the brown haired man from before. She noticed the brown haired man wore an impeccable suit and had this air around him that demanded respect. Jess swallowed thickly, resisting the urge to drain the blood bag as well as the African American man. "Who-who are you? Where-where am I?" she asked lightly.

The man wearing the suit spoke first. "My name is Elijah. This is Jonas, and both he and his son are warlocks. Jonas created the ring next to the blood bag." Elijah studied the young girl for a moment. He could tell she was still barely holding herself together. He could also tell she was showing excellent restraint with ignoring the blood bag as well as not attacking Jonas. He stepped forward slightly. "You were unconscious for a while, but you only have a few hours left to choose if you wish to truly die or live as a vampire for the rest of your days." Elijah had asked Jonas to figure out who the transitioning vampire before them was and discovered she was the doppelganger's sister. He was shocked to learn that Jessica had been left for dead by her sister and the Salvatores. Elijah also knew just from how she reacted when he found her after Damon staked him that she had gone through quite a few dramatic events as a human and was compelled to forget them. He could see that she was contemplating not turning, and he knew it was her choice…however Elijah wanted to persuade her to reconsider. He was shocked as Jonas spoke up just before he did.

"Jessica. I do not normally advocate this as vampires are considered abominations of nature, and I am a warlock. You should complete the transition, and before you protest…this is my reasoning. You are young - 15 years old. You have the ability to still live your life and do many things. I am not sure if it is my paternal instincts talking or my emotions, but I believe you should turn. Allow Elijah to help you understand everything that you can do. Let him help you get through the adjustment," Jonas spoke. It was normally out of character for him to act this way, but he saw how young she was. He saw a vision of what she could become if she turned, and unlike other vampires he had encountered…she was considered a friend among many witches and helped keep peace between the Original Family. He had not told Elijah what he had seen.

Jessica furrowed her brow looking between Elijah and Jonas before looking back at the blood bag again. Part of her didn't want to go through with the transition, but the rest of her wanted to. She wanted to be able to travel the world and see places. If she was a vampire, she would have an eternity to do it. She closed her hazel eyes for a moment before she reached out to grab the bag and the daylight ring Jonas had made for her. The brunette slipped on the ring before slowly sipping at the blood bag chanting to herself to keep her cool and not drain the bag completely. After a few large sips, she pulled the bag away and murmured, "Why do you want to help me?"

Elijah stepped over to her and placed his hand on her lower back as he led her and Jonas out of the room. "As Jonas said before, you are young Miss Gilbert. I will be able to teach you how to survive in this world as a vampire. Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion you wish to give some kind of retribution of your own to those who have wronged you." He gave the young immortal a faint smile when she looked up at him.

"How were you able to compel me? What kind of vampire are you?" she asked lightly. Jessica was curious as to how he had been able to do it. She knew that the older the vampire was the stronger they were. What she didn't know was how the vampire species came about. Her hazel eyes became distracted as she saw a young man around her sister's age and gave a shy smile at him as he came over and introduced himself as Luka, Jonas' son. She felt slightly flustered from the attention the Luka gave her for a moment, but Jessica quickly focused on Elijah's words as he spoke up answering her question.

"I come from a family of Originals," he said slowly, watching Jessica's reaction. "We were turned over a thousand years ago when our youngest brother was killed by a slave to the moon."

Jessica gasped softly. "A werewolf killed your youngest brother?" she asked lightly, feeling her eyes well with tears. She knew how he felt. She knew how horrible it felt to lose people you loved and cared for…people who were family. Jess looked down and closed her eyes trying to keep her emotions in check because she could tell they were running high from being changed. "I'm sorry," she murmured to him. She blinked rapidly as he motioned to a small pile of clothes that Luka had gotten for her. Jessica happily took the clothes and vanished to change out of the dress. She had a smile on her face glad to be out of the monstrosity called a dress. "You have no idea how much I hate dresses," she complained and pouted at the laugh she got from Luka. "Oh shush you," she murmured and looked at Elijah as he cleared his throat.

"You are in need of other clothes, yes? I do have a few errands to run in Richmond, if you wish to come with me to get the things you need. I have a feeling you do not want to go back to your family," the Original said lightly looking at Jessica. At her nod, he straightened his jacket. "Then we should head out now. Come," he said and led her out of the town home to his rather expensive car.

A while later Jessica was starting to feel the ache in her gums again. She bit her lip lightly and murmured, "Is it normal to feel this hungry? My gums hurt so much." The hazel eyed vampire furrowed her brow as Elijah pulled over at a gas station. She looked at the Original confused as he got out and opened her door. "Elijah?" she asked lightly as she got out taking his hand as he led her inside the little convenience store. Her eyes immediately went to the neck of the clerk behind the counter, and she turned her head towards Elijah's chest a little to try to ignore the scent of the man's blood. She didn't know what was going on, but with her, Elijah seemed to slowly be merging with what was behind the red door of his mind.

Elijah leaned down to her ear. "Your first lesson is learning how to control how much you drink from a human," he whispered softly in her ear. He watched her swallow and look up at him. He nodded slightly before looking at the man behind the counter, easily compelling him. "You will come from behind the counter and stay quiet. You will comply with anything that she tells you," he said as his pupils dilated. He watched as the man came from behind the counter wide eyed in slight fear. The Original looked down at the newborn vampire and nodded, encouraging her to drink from the man.

Jessica slowly stepped forward as she watched the man. She didn't want to go for his neck, but instead she settled for his wrist. The 15 year old immortal grabbed the man's wrist and paused for a split second before she bit down moaning softly at the taste of the fresh, warm blood. She drank for almost thirty seconds before she pulled away before she killed the man. On pure instinct, she bit her own wrist and fed the man her blood so his wound would heal. Jessica stepped closer to the man. "Forget what I did to you. You had an unfortunate accident with a knife while prepping dinner the night before. When we leave, act like nothing happened and bandage your hand." Jessica's pupils dilated as she compelled the man still on a high from drinking fresh blood. She blushed as she felt Elijah wipe off the drop of blood on her chin with his handkerchief. "O-oh thanks," she murmured softly and looked up at him. Maybe just maybe she could get this vampire thing down.

The Original nodded with a faint smile on his face. She was unbelievably controlled for a newborn. She even was able to successfully compel someone on her first try. She may have not been turned directly by him, but he would make sure that she knew what she needed to to survive in this world. "That was very good Jessica," he murmured lightly as he led her out of the gas station. "Now, once we get to RIchmond, we will make the stop I need to, and then we will go to the closest mall to get anything that you need. Jonas said he would be using the spare room for you."

Jessica nodded and glanced outside the window closing her eyes as she happily relished in the sunlight coming into the car. Once Elijah parked the car nearby, they began walking down the street in downtown Richmond until they came to a guitar player across from a building with very large windows. The brunette frowned, narrowing her eyes seeing the familiar black hair and leather jacket of Damon Salvatore with two unknown vampires. Her hazel eyes turned to Elijah as he kneeled and dropped a $100 bill into the guitar player's case before grabbing a large handful of quarters. Her interest peaked as she realized what Elijah was going to do with the coins. She stayed rooted in her spot as Elijah threw the coins at the windows breaking them causing most of the vampires to scream in pain. As Elijah turned to leave and walk back towards the car, Jessica stayed put. She wanted Damon to see her. She wanted to have Damon and Elena and Stafan not trust each other. She tilted her head ever so slightly as Damon's blue eyes met her hazel ones. For a split second she let her face change before she vanished as a bus passed in front of her, and she sped to Elijah's car. "Sorry…I wanted him to see me…to see if he'd tell my sister when he gets back to Mystic Falls," she murmured softly.

The Original looked at her before nodding for a moment. "I am not mad at you. Eventually they will find out that you are a vampire. I have a feeling that your family will be surprised at the turn of events in your life. I also have no doubt he will tell Elena, but I suspect Elena won't believe him. Now, we need to get you some things. Do not give me that look. You need new clothes as you have nothing here. I have taken you under my wing. I will do all I can to make sure you have what you need," Elijah said.

Jessica gave a comical sigh and rolled her eyes playfully before slowly nodding. "Okay," she murmured lightly as Elijah pulled into the street to go to the store to get her clothes.
