Chapter 4
-Richmond, Virginia-
Jessica felt overwhelmed and confused as she mulled over the thought of contacting Aunt Jenna and her sister. She bit her lip trying to decide for herself if she wanted anything to do with her family. Tears welled up in her eyes as she leaned against the wall of a building in an alley as she covered her mouth trying not to have a nervous breakdown. She was barely a week old, and her emotions were still running high. The 15 year old immortal closed her eyes trying to focus only on her heartbeat because the smell of blood was now becoming overwhelming, and she was trying her best to hold back from draining the closest person to her as people walked by the alley without any cares in the world. She flinched and used her speed to pin the person who suddenly grabbed her hands to the opposite wall glaring as dark veins appeared under eyes. The man she pinned had darker blonde hair and blue eyes, but Jessica went wide eyed as the man simply raised an eyebrow before his own face changed. She swallowed thickly and closed her eyes and pulled away from the man panting softly chewing on her lower lip to try to keep herself from attacking anyone.
The man watched her for a moment. He could tell that this young girl was a newborn vampire. He wasn't sure how she got a daylight ring, but he could tell something was making her upset which didn't help her cravings for blood. He frowned for a moment as he caught a faint scent…the faint scent of his older brother Elijah. He gave a smirk as he lightly took one of her arms into his hand and pulled her deeper into the alley. "Come love. Why don't you have some blood from me?" he asked, his accent obviously not American. He tilted his head slightly to the side, smirking still.
Jessica went wide eyed at the question. She gasped softly and pulled away from the unknown vampire looking away from him. Elijah had briefly told her that blood sharing was something that was very intimate especially between two vampires. She bit down on the inside of her cheek and tasted blood from how hard she bit down. She didn't know how she felt about drinking from someone she didn't know. The 15 year old immortal swallowed thickly before she bit down on her lip instead of her cheek as her fangs grew slightly at the slight thought of blood breaking the skin on her lips. Jessica inhaled sharply as the unknown yet handsome vampire closed any distance between them without warning her.
He sped closer to her as veins appeared under his eyes while inhaling her scent. Her natural scent drove something inside of him crazy, and he didn't understand it. However, he wanted to help this young vampire for some strange reason. The blonde vampire slowly lifted her chin leaning back as he lightly took her lower lip between his teeth and sucked slightly. His eyes darkened even more as he realized she seemed to be enjoying what he was doing to her. He smirked and gazed at the young immortal with a mischievous look in his blue eyes. He could smell she wasn't a virgin, but he had a feeling she had never truly felt pleasure before. A small amount of her blood stained his lips as his nose nuzzled her cheek for a moment before slowly running down her skin and onto her pale neck. Every little touch he did to her as he moved his hands slowly down her arms and up her thighs slightly. He nearly groaned hearing a soft mewl come from her throat as he felt her heart speed up from the feather light touches. The blonde knew he was driving her insane by barely touching her. He remembered when he was a newborn vampire. His sex drive and blood lust were something that he had not expected as he himself took and drained multiple people at the time of his turning. "You quite like this don't you?" he purred lowly in her ear, lightly biting down on the skin just below her ear. He froze when he heard a soft whimper of fear and saw her squeezing her eyes shut as if she was trying not to relive a horrible experience. This small action of hers made him frown ever so slightly as his thoughts began firing off questions faster than he could keep up. Had she been taken advantage of? Was it someone close to her? Had it been someone who she thought she could trust? Was that why he could smell she wasn't a virgin? Was that why it seemed she had never truly been touched before? The older vampire pulled away from her and heard her whisper one word over and over…no. A tugging feeling deep inside of him told him to rip apart anyone who had caused this young vampire harm. He didn't know why he was reacting this way. He would have to have Greta look into why this was happening to him.
Her reaction, however, was all he needed to let her go and pull her into a soft yet comforting embrace. He lightly stroked her hair and murmured in her ear, "Drink love. You're obviously hungry." He heard her sniffle for a few more moments as her breath hitched while she tried to calm down before he winced as he felt her bite down on his neck drinking a rather large amount of his blood, but it wasn't enough to really affect him. He held back a soft groan as she eventually pulled away from him calmer than she had been before. He lifted her chin as he compelled her. "Forget what happened here, Love. You will remember when the time is right." He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before vanishing from sight.
Jessica frowned as she lifted her fingers and felt something sticky. She licked her lips and tasted blood on them. She found it odd because there was no bodies around her signifying she had drank from someone. She doesn't even remember the last ten minutes. All she remembered was hearing from Rose her sister and aunt wanted to talk and then leaving Slater's apartment. How had she gotten to this alley? What happened during the last ten minutes? Could Elijah have come out here and compelled her? The young immortal shook her head rapidly to herself. Elijah had promised he wouldn't compel her. That could mean she had run into his brother, Niklaus. Her brow furrowed in confusion. Why would his brother compel her? What could he have possibly want? Jessica sighed heavily closing her eyes for a moment to try to get her thoughts in order and turned as she heard Elijah clear his throat while he stood at the entrance of the alley. She walked over to him and murmured, "Are there any Originals awake besides you and your brother?"
Elijah frowned at her question. Why would she be asking something such as that? He stiffened slightly, smelling a faint yet familiar scent. It could very well be possible that somehow Niklaus had found them and compelled Jessica. She was a newborn vampire after all. He narrowed his eyes, smelling blood and seeing a small amount of blood on her face right by her lip. Where had she gotten blood? He didn't smell any passing humans with blood coming from them. He also didn't see any bodies nearby her or smell any for that matter. He slowly stepped closer to her, giving a soft smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "No there isn't. Do not worry Jessica. Everything will be okay. Niklaus has no knowledge of my location or that of your sister."
Jessica bit her lip lightly as she gave a slight nod. She trusted Elijah and knew he would keep his promise to her.
-Three Days Later-
Jessica was dressed in very similar clothing as a few days prior. She would be leaving with Elijah to drive to Mystic Falls soon and was incredibly nervous to be seeing her sister and aunt and her brother. She knew that they wanted to reconcile, but Jessica had so many pent up emotions towards her sister that the young immortal wasn't sure if she could reconcile with Elena. The brunette chewed her lower lip as she played with her daylight ring. She wanted to have some kind of relationship with her family since they would eventually die of old age while Jessica would not. She looked up as Elijah got into the car that Jessica was waiting in and looked out the window slowly getting lost in thought. After Elijah had found her in the alley, Jessica proceeded to drain three blood bags and sleep for a day and a half all while having even more memories from when she was a human return to her.
*Memory 4*
Jessica was dressed as a female version of Nightwing fully equipped with a long haired black wig, a mask, a cat suit, and similar batons that he uses. Her hazel eyes were covered by blue contacts, and the cat suit showed off her body in a different light. It showed that even though she was 15, she was becoming a very attractive young woman. Jenna fully supported the outfit as it wasn't anything like a slutty bunny costume. Jeremy was shown and swore to beat off any guys especially Tyler. Elena never even saw her costume. Elena was so wrapped up in Stefan and Damon that she didn't even know what her own sister was dressing up as for Halloween. The young teen smiled as she said goodbye to Jenna as her aunt dropped her off at the school for the party. She smirked. No one recognized her – which is what she wanted. Jessica frowned slightly as she noticed that Damon was at the party. What the heck was he doing here? Wasn't he a little old to be at this party for high schoolers? Jessica quickly and silently followed him, keeping to watching him from large crowds of students and making sure she was near some kind of wall or corner so she wouldn't draw attention to herself.
She swallowed thickly as she realized she was going outside of the main area of the school and went wide eyed seeing Damon holding Elena while Stefan stabbed Vicki with a wooden stake. She felt her breath hitch as her throat tightened in fear seeing the twisted face of Vicki as her skin turned an ashy gray and went limp. Vicki was dead. Why would Stefan kill her? She froze as shock coursed through her veins. She knew of only one species that was killed the way that Stefan killed Vicki. The brunette hid behind a wall as she pulled out her phone and typed up a text message to herself that stated *Vicki was killed at the Halloween School Party. Vicki was a vampire. Look into the journals of the Gilberts*
Jessica shoved her phone into the small thigh pocket she had made for her costume and started towards the doors to go back into the school and tensed as Damon appeared in front of her. Her face twisted into a glare as she stared at the black haired man. "What do you want, Damon?" Jessica snapped lightly. She gave a soft growl as he grabbed her shoulders slightly staring into her eyes.
"Forget that you saw Vicki get killed. Vicki has gone missing on a drug related binge. You never came to the Halloween Party. You stayed at home with your aunt and watched a movie. You are going to go home right now, change out of your costume, and never think about this again," Damon said as his pupils dilated.
Jessica didn't remember how she got home that night, and Jenna found it odd that Jessica didn't remember going to the party even with the picture evidence her aunt had of Jessica in her Nightwing Costume.
*End of Memory 4*
*Memory 5*
Jessica was exploring the forest going on a hike as she wanted to find the one spot that she and her father used to go camp at. The brunette had her headphones in her ear with her music blaring on her iPod. She froze feeling like she was being watched and turned around furrowing her brow confused. She swallowed thickly and shook her head slightly. Who would come out this far? The 15 year old had her giant bag as well as some supplies to fight against both vampires and werewolves as it was the full moon, but the only werewolf in the area at the time was Mason Lockwood according to Damon. Jessica smiled as she came across part of the old Gilbert property and set her things down by one of the still standing walls slowly tracing her fingers over the old etchings she and her dad had made on that specific wall. The teen sighed heavily and groaned loudly as the voice of Damon Salvatore rang out behind her.
"Well isn't this cozy?" Damon quipped as he appeared nearby leaning against a tree trunk.
Jessica rolled her eyes. "What the hell are you doing here Damon? Shouldn't you be making sure that Mason Lockwood doesn't kill anyone?" she snapped glaring at him. The brunette crossed her arm over her chest as she tapped her foot impatient for his answer. When he didn't answer, she huffed and turned storming away towards the camping area she would always go to. A strangled gasp escaped her throat as Damon sped in front of her grabbing her throat tightly. The 15 year old's eyes widened as she tried to breathe but couldn't from the sheer strength behind how hard he was holding her throat. Black spots slowly danced around her vision as she felt him let go of her throat and lunge forward. A loud crunching sound could be heard as Damon bit down rather violently on her neck drinking from her.
Damon had had a rough day. Elena had yet again tried to make him be more like Stefan and not be what he was which…was a vampire. Damon was a predator, and he didn't understand why Elena couldn't understand that. He pulled Jessica's body closer to his as he continued drinking from her. Damon pulled away from Jessica's neck and set her bag against a tree laying her against it. His lips and chin were covered in her blood as he bit down on his wrist and forced his blood down her throat so she could heal. The blue eyed vampire gazed at Jessica – who was half conscious and barely able to see what was happening - as he stayed with her to make sure that she didn't die with his blood in her system. He gave a curse almost 30 minutes later as he heard a low growl from a wolf…whom he knew was Mason Lockwood. The vampire turned his head slowly and could see that the wolf version of Mason was locked onto him and angered by what he had done to Jessica for some reason. Damon held up his hands as he saw Jessica half-heartedly turn her head to see Mason slowly stalking towards Damon. Damon knew fell well he was in trouble; however if he ran and left Jessica, Mason might be inclined to help the weak girl. If he ran with Jessica, they would both be dead. As a last ditch effort, he smirked and sped away leaving Jessica still bleeding from her neck against her bag which was against a tree. He heard Mason snarl as if to follow him but knew the wolf wouldn't leave the young teen to bleed out.
*End Memory 5*
Jessica blinked rapidly blinking back tears as she went through the memories again. She couldn't believe her sister trusted Damon and Stefan. The only difference between the two brothers was that Damon at least never took advantage of her. The newborn immortal looked at Elijah as he came to a stop in front of a simple looking house. They had arrived, and Jessica hadn't even noticed. She looked down at her hands slowly wringing them together nervous as hell to talk with her family. "Rose made it seem like Elena wants nothing to do with the Salvatore brothers anymore," she whispered more to herself than anything.
"I am sure your sister will explain everything," Elijah reassured her softly as they both got out of the car and he walked with her up to the front door of the house with a gentle smile on his face reassuring her that everything would turn out alright.
Jessica looked at him for a moment before looking at the door as they came to it. Jessica was about to knock on the door when Rose opened the front door to show Jenna, Elena, and Jeremy.
