Yes I know that I have not been updating much on here while I have been doing more on Tumblr. I am sorry. There has been a lot going on in my life right now especially with my mental health being more down than up. THis chapter did take me a while as I didn't want to rush the chapter as it won't be going 100% according to the show.

I have started on chapter 8. I am going to be up well into tonight typing it out and might post it once it's done. That or wait until I am done with chapter 9 to post chapter 8.

Jessica Gilbert frowned slightly as she stared at the blonde haired woman in front of her. She had no idea who this woman was, but Jessica could tell that she most definitely was not human. Jessica subtly sniffed the woman's scent again as she drank her soda. There was a wet forest type smell that was very similar to Tyler Lockwood. The young vampire went wide eyed for a millisecond before she regained her composure, her face going blank. For some reason, the woman was asking about Mason Lockwood, Tyler's uncle. She had overheard the woman tell Damon that Mason had not made it back to Florida. Something in Jessica's gut told her that this woman was out for blood and very dangerous in what was going to be happening within the next few days. The 15 year old immortal blinked as she was pulled from her thoughts when the woman cleared her throat. "I'm sorry, what was that? I was getting lost in thought about a history project my teacher gave out today," she said lightly, giving a soft smile glad she had not worn her daylight ring that day.

The woman in front of Jessica - who had introduced herself as Jules - gave a fake smile that was hidden very well. She knew the black haired man was a vampire, and that the girl who looked like Katie was human. However, Jules could not determine what the young teenager was. She didn't smell human, but she didn't smell like a wolf or a vampire. Plus, the 15 year old did not wear a daylight ring to signify she could walk in the sun. Mason had mentioned that the Gilbert family had a youngest child whom he used to babysit and was someone who needed to be protected from the supernatural at all costs. "I was just wondering when the last time you saw Mason was. He never made it back to our apartment in Florida, and Mason mentioned he had babysat you when you were younger."

Jessica blinked and gained a thoughtful look on her face. She had heard Mason had gone back to Florida from Tyler, but thinking about it now, she hadn't seen Mason since the barbeque where the Sheriff found out Stefan and Damon and Caroline were vampires. A frown crossed her lips as she realized that Mason as a topic seemed to be sensitive for Elena who had still been wrapped up in the Salvatores at the time that Mason vanished. "I unfortunately have not seen Mason since the Barbeque we had a bit before the masquerade we had a few months ago," she told the wolf. A buzz sounded on her phone making her hum as she put her soda glass down and pulled out her phone. She bit her lip lightly to hide her frown as she saw a text message from her Aunt Jenna.

*Jess I am going to need you to come back. Elijah let me know he is on his way back and will be at our house in about an hour.*

Jessica sighed heavily and downed her soda placing a $20 on the table smiling at Jules. "I would love to continue and chat, but my aunt needs me back home for a meeting we are having," she said lightly. The brown haired vampire hummed softly as she slung her backpack over her shoulder as she headed out and waved goodbye to Matt who was behind the bar. The moment she was three blocks away from the Grille she used her vampire speed to get back to the Gilbert house. Jessica let out a sigh of relief as she locked the front door of the house and turned to face Jenna as she came out of the kitchen. "Warning, we might get a visit from a werewolf or maybe two. We need to have Jonas and Luka put a boundary spell on the house so they can't get in," she said, her anxiety rising. Jessica gave a smile as Elijah walked out of the kitchen to stand next to Jenna. "Elijah," Jessica greeted lightly.

Elijah nodded. "I will speak with Jonas and have him work on it once I leave here. However, There is something I wish to discuss with you first. It has to do with Katerina, and the fact that she is still trapped in the tomb with the moonstone."

Jessica frowned at the thought of the tomb and the spell that was on it. "You are able to compel other vampires right? What if you have Jonas and Luka remove the spell on the tomb, and then could you compel her to stay put?" she asked lightly. "At that point, we would be able to get the moonstone no problem, and Katherine would be forced to stay put. Since Katherine has been in the tomb for so long, she won't have any vervain in her system." She put her bag down near the table and went to the fridge to get a blood bag to heat it up inside of a mug in the microwave. She tried her best to not let her aunt see as she knew that Jenna still had a hard time watching Jessica drink blood…even if she drank it out of a mug or wine glass. That was something else Jessica and Jenna had to both get accustomed to…Jessica drinking. Elijah had told them that the alcohol helped curb the cravings which is why they saw Damon drinking so much alcohol. Jessica found she preferred red wine over white because the blood easily blended in with the liquid. The immortal 15 year old sipped the blood in her warm mug and froze mid sip smelling the forest smell again. She glanced outside the kitchen window slightly and frowned to herself making sure she wasn't seen and cursed seeing a man whom she didn't know outside their home. Jess went to Elijah and wrote out on her phone notepad *We have a canine issue outside. I encountered one at the Grille, and I think she had one follow me home.* She looked at Elijah with a grim expression and saw the Original straighten. Jess frowned and turned her head slightly as she, Elijah, and Rose both heard the wolf outside speak.

"Your little blonde friend won't last very long. Bring us Tyler Lockwood and there will be no issues. If you refuse to comply…well the pack just loves the taste of vampires," the mystery werewolf said, making Jessica pale as she realized that Caroline had been taken.

Jess looked at Elijah with a determined look on her face. "We have to get Caroline back. This is the only time I am going to say this, but we might need the Salvatores. I know you are an Original and Rose is at least 500, but I am a baby vamp…so is Caroline. The three of us will not be able to take them on alone… I don't want to involve them, but if they have their whole pack here…" Jess trailed off staring at Elijah who nodded and immediately sent a message to Jonas to have him and Luka track down Caroline and be on standby should the vampires need help via magic. "If worse comes to worse, we can use the Salvatores as live bait," she quipped, sipping the blood from her mug. She wouldn't mind either of the Salvatores getting bitten by a werewolf…even though it was fatal.

Rose frowned. Jess had come a long way with her training, but she didn't trust the wolves. She didn't know if they would play dirty. Yes, Jess and herself were building up tolerances to vervain, but they more than likely had wooden bullets. The English vampire opened her mouth to protest Jess coming along but saw a look from Jenna. Rose could tell from that look that there would be no stopping Jessica from going with them to get Caroline back. Rose swallowed thickly as another thought crossed her mind. There was a high chance all those werewolves were going to die tonight, and Jess will more than likely kill someone for the first time as she had never taken a life before. A deep sigh left her lips as she went to heat up her own blood bag. If they were going to be taking on werewolves…all three of them would need to be at full strength. Rose looked at the blood bag before calling out to Elijah, "Will you be having a blood bag? Since we have to go after that pack, I would recommend both you and Jessica have at least one full blood bag. Especially you, Jessica. You can never be too careful as 1) you are a very young vampire and 2) we are going up against werewolves." Rose proceeded to get more blood bags from the fridge for Elijah and Jessica who both took the bags from the third vampire and drank from them.

Jenna watched her niece feed from the blood bag. "Are you sure those will be enough?" she asked, concerned for her niece, Rose, and even Elijah. The red headed human gazed at her niece before looking at Elijah and then back at Rose. "Please be safe. I am not allowing any of you to die. Are we clear?" she said, trying to be stern with them causing Rose and Elijah to chuckle at Jenna.

Elijah gave a nod. "You have my word that they both will come back unharmed." Elijah paused as his phone vibrated with a notification from Jonas. "They have located Caroline and are on their way there. They have also sent a cryptic message to the Salvatores to have them bring Tyler to where the wolves are so they can make it seem like they are there on their own."

"Then let's go," Jessica said, standing up and putting her hair into a ponytail. "We have some wolves to take care of," she muttered darkly.
