Bright sunlight streamed through the windows. Sylvie felt its warmth on her skin. She smiled into the feeling and slowly opened her eyes.
Hm, these are not the curtains from my bedroom, she thought as she eyed her surroundings closer. Her gaze wandered further to the right.
And that is certainly not my sweater, she realized as she sat up and rubbed her hands over her face. She suddenly felt uncomfortable. Where was she? And how did she end up here?

"Morning Sylvie", a male voice said.

Sylvie turned her head around and saw Lieutenant Grainger lying next to her. The covers slipped down slightly as he turned his body towards her and revealed his naked chest. Slight panic rose in Sylvie's chest. What happened last night?

"Hey", she answered to avoid an awkward silence.

He smiled at her and let his hand slide over her arm. Suddenly the events from last night came back to her mind. After kissing him on the dancefloor at Molly's during Severide and Kidd's engagement party, they headed back to his place to take it further. Sylvie remembered their night of passion and lust and felt uncomfortableness rising in her chest again. How much did she drink last night to go this far?
Grainger sensed that she wasn't feeling good, and his smile faded.

"What's wrong?", he asked cautiously.

"Nothing", she lied and withdrew her arm slowly.

"I don't believe you. Come on, talk to me Sylvie. Do you regret it?"

She didn't know what to answer. On one hand, she was certain that he didn't take advantage of her and that she must have agreed to this but on the other hand, she never rushes anything when it comes to men. So how much did she drink last night to go this far with a man that she knows a few weeks by now?

"Sylvie? Answer me please."

He sounded desperate.

"No, of course I don't", she lied again and faked a smile.

She leaned back in and kissed him. It felt wrong but she couldn't stop herself. She wanted him to believe her, because it wasn't his fault that she was feeling the way she did.

"You staying for breakfast?"

He sat up too and stretched his arms.

"No, I'm going to head out. I need to get myself together and check on Herrmann if he needs help to clean Molly's", she said, got out of bed and slipped her shirt back on.

"Don't you think he did that last night already? I mean, we weren't the last ones who left, so, I'm sure he got some help to clean everything up."

He didn't want her to leave and that made her feel more uncomfortable.

"Yeah probably, but I helped organizing everything and I saw the mess that was made, so… I'd really feel bad if he had to clean it up by himself."

She smiled at him again as she put her pants on and gathered the rest of her clothes. He put his hands up in surrender.

"Alright, I don't want to stand in your way. But I'd be happier if you stayed", he said, trying one last time to change her mind.

Sylvie knew what he was trying to do, but all she wanted was to get out of here.

"I'll see you around, Lieutenant", she said and walked out of the bedroom.

Once she closed the apartment door, she felt a small weight fall off her chest.

She called an Uber and tried to call Stella, but she was sent straight to voicemail.

"Hey Stella, this is Sylvie. I know that you're probably enjoying your time off with Severide, but I need to talk to you. Like it's really urgent. Can you call me back if you hear this? Thanks!"

Once she was inside of her apartment she headed straight for the shower and enjoyed the hot water running down her body. Meanwhile she thought about her situation. She did like Greg, but she never intended to go that fast with him. After all, there were still some feelings for Casey ghosting around in her mind and this whole thing with Greg was more like a fun game. She enjoyed his company, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get Casey off her mind.

"Damn it!", she swore to herself and threw the shampoo bottle back onto the ground.

Then, she washed her hair clean and stepped out of the shower. With a towel wrapped around her body, she checked her phone to make sure she didn't miss a call from Stella. But there was none. Instead, there was a message from Greg.

Miss you already… You up for lunch sometime?

Sylvie threw her phone onto her bed and lay down too. Usually, she'd be hyped if a man ran after her like Greg did. But now, she just felt weird. He was cute and she knew that he was really interested in her, but her heart was playing against her this time. She tried to convince herself that Casey would always choose Gabby over her and that she couldn't love him because of that, but she was wrong. He was constantly on her mind and his smile warmed her heart.

No Sylvie, stop it, she told herself and got up again.

After having dressed for the day, she took some aspirin to ease the headache and decided to stop by her favorite bakery for breakfast. Then, she drove to Molly's because she really wanted to check on Herrmann and Cindy.

"Hello, someone here?", she called out as she entered.

No response. Everything was dark and the tables were put away.

"Herrmann? Cindy?"

"Who's it?", she heard Herrmann's voice coming from the back.

"It's Sylvie. Where are you?"

Sylvie walked further into the bar and almost clashed with Herrmann who rushed out of the kitchen.

"Oh, hey Brett, what are you doing here?"

"I wanted to check on you and Cindy and I thought you might need help with cleaning Molly's but… seems like you did that already."

Sylvie looked around and was impressed with how clean it was.

"When did you do all the cleaning?", she asked confused.

Herrmann laughed.

"Oh, you missed that. We did it last night until five in the morning or so. It was a lot of fun, you should've stayed. Kidd and Gallo were showing off their drinking skills. The last time I saw Stella drinking like that was when she was transferred to PR."

He shook his head and laughed again. Sylvie smiled to herself. It's been a long time since then and a lot has changed…

"However, can I help you with something?"

"Not really… you should enjoy your day off next shift is around the corner."

"Yeah, but I really want to do something. Please. I feel awful that I organized everything and then I left early. Please?"

Herrmann couldn't really resist her puppy dog eyes, so he gave her a towel and pointed to the kitchen.

"You'd do me a big favor if you cleaned the glasses. I'm going to get the tables ready for tonight. Okay?"

"Yes sir", she saluted and went directly to the kitchen.

For the rest of the day, she stayed at Molly's with Herrmann and helped him get it ready for the customers. Right before Herrmann wanted to open, she left and headed home. There, she checked her phone again and saw a missed call from Stella. She dialed her number and waited.

"Hello?"

"Hey Stella, I saw your call. Sorry that I missed it, I was helping Herrmann to get Molly's ready for tonight…"

"No problem. You said you want to talk?"

"Yeah, but only if you have time. I really don't want to keep you away from Severide."

"You don't…"

"That's not true!", shouted Kelly in the background.

"Don't listen to him Sylvie. He can spend some time by himself now, we had breakfast this morning and stayed in the whole time. So, what do you want to talk about?"

Sylvie sat down on her couch and took a deep breath.

"I slept with Greg."
