Chapter 10 The Truth

(Eliza's POV)

They dance the night away ignoring the ACEY's jealously over their outfits and just had an all-out fun time. For once Eliza was enjoying herself alongside her friends without feeling the pressure of what was to come. Like facing her mom, but we can save that for tomorrow.

Time skip brought to you by the ACEY's

The next morning...

"Eliza Marie Zmith, go shower and meet me downstairs in 20 minutes." Margret says then closes the door.

Yup, I'm in trouble. Better get moving before she comes back up. Eliza grabs a pair of clothes and quickly heads to her shower. She's done in ten minutes and swiftly brushes her hair and ties it up. She brushes her teeth and hastily make her way downstairs. She finds her mom sitting on the couch in the living room sipping a cup of tea.

"Have a seat." Her mother says and Eliza does so. "I hope you had fun last night." She speaks.

"I did for once I finally did." Eliza says sincerely. "I'm glad, what I'm not happy about is this boy that you've been having over at this house." Margret says. "Mom, I wanted to tell you, but I honestly didn't know how. Given everything that happened with dad." Eliza says looking down at her hands. "That was 14 years ago I've let him go." Margret says with some bitterness. "You haven't not completely but moving on. I'm sorry I didn't want to break your trust." Eliza says. "We never kept anything from each other so what made you start now?" Margret asks. "I'm new to this and feelings aside from you and my friends I didn't know how to process it, not that this is an excuse I just didn't know how you would react." Eliza says.

"Eliza I'm disappointed in you for not trusting me and for letting him in thinking that I wouldn't find out." Margret says. "I know, he's just not what I was expecting." Eliza says. "Did he hurt you?" Margret asks. "No, he didn't it's hard to explain and it's kind of a promise that I need to keep." Eliza says. "Even from your own mother?" Margret questions. "Yes, even from you and if I could explain why I would you know I would." Eliza says. "I know you would, but if you want to keep 'hanging out' with him I need to meet him." Margret says and gets up taking her cup to the kitchen. "And don't tell me you can't you're my daughter after all." Margret says turning back to cleaning her cup.

Eliza doesn't say a word and makes her way up to her room to change. Wordlessly she heads back downstairs and to grabbing her car keys and making her way to the door.

"And Eliza I want to meet him tonight, I will be working late starting tomorrow." Margret says then heads upstairs. Taking the breath that she didn't realize she was holding she opens the door locking it behind her and dashes to her car.

Getting in she pulls out heading to the forest.

She parks in the lot and quickly makes her way to their spot. She sits on a stump trying to gather her thoughts. What if she finds out and makes Officer Dale to round them all up? What if they discover the moonstone? No, no I can't let that happen!

"Hey, ow!" Wyatt says when Eliza kicks him in the knee. "Wyatt, I'm sorry." Eliza says "Whoa, you're apologizing, what's going on?" Wyatt asks concernedly. "My mom knows, not about what you are just you." Eliza says. "What how?" Wyatt asks. "Well, clearly you weren't so quiet when you would jump through my window." Eliza says sarcastically. "Damn it, Willa is gonna kill me!" Wyatt says and he starts pacing.

"What are we gonna to do?!" Wyatt exclaimed. "Wyatt! First, you're going to calm down, second, I need to speak with your mom." Eliza says. "Willa won't let you near her not after this!" Wyatt says. "Well, then we should say our goodbyes." Eliza whispers. "What? No, why?" Wyatt asks hurt evident on his face. "Because my mom will ground me until I graduate and probably take away my car to stop me from helping you." Eliza says. "That wouldn't stop me." Wyatt says with a smirk. "Wyatt, you don't understand I chose not to tell my mother and my friends to keep from exposing your family. But this promise I can't keep it from my mom she's all I have." Eliza says her hands shaking.

"Okay, we'll go talk to my mom together." Wyatt says taking her hands in his instantly calming her. "Come on, let's go." Wyatt says hugging her to his side as they walk towards the den.

"What's she doing back here?" Willa growls Wynter appears and stands beside her.

"She needs to talk to mom." Wyatt says. Willa shakes her head. Bonzo stealthily goes back inside the den.

"Unless she's found us another Moonstone, I want nothing to do with her, it's only a matter of time before she goofs up and someone finds out about us." Willa says. "Don't talk about her like that, you know nothing about her." Wyatt growls. "Neither do you little brother, at least I'm honest about how I feel, and I will do whatever it takes to protect our pack." Willa says. "And you think that I won't?" Wyatt questions. "You haven't, she still knows about us and willingly comes here on her own accord. All it takes is for someone to follow her here and then they take our Moonstone." Willa says.

"I get that you don't like me, but don't you dare call your own brother a failure, because from where I'm standing, he's done more for this pack than you." Eliza says just as Willa runs forward yellow eyes a blazed.

Wyatt gently pushes Eliza aside and takes the blunt of Willa's attack. They both fall to the ground hard Wyatt flips his sister on her back and pins her down.

"BOTH OF YOU THAT IS ENOUGH!" Winona voice booms immediately stopping both her children. "Willa this Alpha female stops now, or you will never be again." She says coming out of the den.

"But mother-" Willa protests.

"Enough, she came here to talk to me and that is what we will do. Now both of you go get cleaned up." Winona says.

The siblings get up still glaring at one another and make their way into the den. Eliza stares shocked and a little shaken and Bonzo comes out and stands next to her.

"Now, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about, dear?" Winona asks. "Long story short my mother wants to meet your son." Eliza says. "Is that all?" Winona asks. "Yes, but I don't want her to freak out like I did when I first met him." Eliza says. "I see and you don't want her telling the world about us and our Moonstone." Winona states. "I know my mom she wouldn't do that." Eliza says firmly. "Hmm, that remains to be seen." Winona says. "Wait, are you suggesting?" Eliza asks. "That you bring your mother here, yes I am." Winona says.

"Mother you can't be serious, it's bad enough that she knows about us, but to bring another? What about the safety of the pack?" Willa asks.

"I am thinking of the pack and don't you dare question me young lady." Winona growls.

"When is this all happening? So, the others and I can keep an eye on the werepups" Bonzo signs.

"Tonight. My mom said it had to be tonight." Eliza cuts in. "If that's okay."

"Of course, it is dear, I did invite your mother here after all." Winona says with a smile.

"This is a disaster in the making." Willa mutters.

"That only happens if you make us all seem like a threat to Eliza and her mom." Wyatt says. Willa huffs.

"He's right, tonight can go two ways: we make a new friend or an enemy. I'm hoping for a friend." Winona says.

"Whatever." Willa says and goes back into the den Wynter not far behind.

"Don't worry I'll make sure she keeps her comments to herself tonight." Winona says.

"Thanks, well I should go and tell my mom the game plan." Eliza says. Winona nods.

"Alright let's go." Wyatt says and the pair head back to her car. "Hey, thanks for sticking up for me." Eliza says. "Right back at you." Wyatt says with a toothy smile. "Are you feeling a bit nervous?" Eliza asks. "Yup." Wyatt says. "Well, don't just be you. My mom can't stand people who put on a persona." Eliza says. "Right, just be me. I can do that." Wyatt says. "Good, so we'll see you at 8." Eliza says. "Yeah, at 8 right here." Wyatt says. Eliza nods unlocking her car and getting in. Wyatt closes the door and waves before he dashes off into the forest.

Eliza pulls out of the lot and heads home. Parking her car in the driveway she heads inside and finds her mom in the kitchen.

"So, you have new for me." Margret says. "Wyatt's mom wants to meet me too so were meeting at his place at 8." Eliza lies. "Hmm, alright so what is the dress code?" Margret asks. "Casual with tennis shoes, they live in the forest." Eliza says. "Okay well, I need to go shopping for some shoes." Margret says grabbing her purse and heading out the door. Eliza waits until her mom pulls out of the driveway before she pulls out her phone.

"This is all your fault!" Eliza screams.

As always I want to know what you think, I promise the slow burn for Wyzia will heat up soon. Until next time...
