Gordon TAG POV
Gordon was freaking out, to say the least. He was in a strange place, that reminded him so much of home on Tracy Island, but the differences were staggering. The hope that his brothers were there, was extinguished quickly upon arrival. The hangar he entered was completely different, but at the same time eerily similar. Shit! There were really not in Kansas anymore. Life was simpler on their old farm. Before the nasty avalanche, that took their mothers life, and thus starting the chain reaction in the Tracy family that led them to this moment.
The imposter had introduced himself as Virgil Tracy. But he was not Gordons Virgil. Gordon would give almost anything to have his Virgil with him right now. Virgil would be able to help Allie get better. Virgil would be able to help Gordon too. Their second oldest brother gave great bearhugs and was a calm, reassuring presence. Gordon desperately needed a hug right about now.
John, on the other hand, would have been able to figure out what happened, and almost certainly already have a working idea of how to get them home. John was the eye in the sky. The coordinator. Sitting in his space station and looking down like an evil mastermind. I take that back; John is a mastermind, but he isn't evil. Well, he did create an evil AI. But he befriended her quickly enough, before the AI could really kill anyone. EOS was just scared. People do strange things when they are scared. So maybe just a little evil. A smidgen. John could be scary when he wanted to. But he usually reserved the evil part of himself to the people who threatened his family.
Scott would stand strong and come up with a plan to get them back home. Scott always made Gordon feel like everything would be alright. Gordon felt himself buckle under the burden of being responsible for getting the terrible two home. When they were young, they were teased by their older brothers for being the tinys. Perhaps they were right. Gordon felt utterly tiny right now.
How did Scott manage to take care of all his younger brothers without completely breaking under the pressure? Just the responsibility of getting Alan and himself home, was almost too heavy for his shoulders to bare. Gordon felt his respect for his oldest brother grow even bigger than it already was. Did Scott feel like this all the time?
Alan was down for the count. Only God knows for how long. During Alans brief stint of consciousness, his usual partner in crime had entrusted him to hold down the fort for the time being. Finding himself as the oldest brother available, was scarier than Gordon wanted to admit. He felt out of his depth. And mind you, he could handle deep dives.
Gordon needed his brothers. All of them. Together they almost felt invincible, being able to tackle most problems using their combined expertise. They were an excellent team, that complemented each other well. They were now separated. It was excruciatingly painful, it felt like three body parts of him were missing. Gordon was a little mortified to realise how much he relied on his brothers.
After their father's disappearance, they had become even closer. They had always been close to each other. Even before all the family tragedies, that seemed to follow them. But now, orphans, with a heavy burden of continuing their fathers dream of international rescue, they were forced to lean on each other even more than before. Otherwise, they would crack under the pressure.
Gordon still did not have a real grasp of what was really going on or how to fix it. He could not really think straight right now. Fatigue from the multiple rescues before whatever this crazy situation was, together with high levels of anxiety over Alans bad health condition took the front centre stage in Gordons weary brain.
The walk to the impostor's infirmary was awkward to say the least. Gordons anxiety was reaching record hights, as the not his Virgil pushed his brother's gurney. Gordon walked beside Alan, still gripping his hand. It was the only thing currently grounding Gordon to reality. He could not afford to spiral. Not now, in an unfamiliar place, badly wounded brother, no true allies and no support. He had to keep it together.
When they finally reached the infirmary, they were greeted by a doctor who went straight for Alan to examinate him. The not his Virgil instructed Gordon that he could stay, if he kept quiet and out of the way, when they continued the treatment of his little brother. He was forced to let go of his brother's hand. And was reluctantly guided to a chair in the corner of the room.
Gordon did not have a choice but to try to trust them with the care of his brother. He wasn't a doctor and could not fix his little brother. No matter how much he wanted to. The not his Virgil had after all helped save Alan. To do something else now, would be counterproductive. That did not mean that he would not watch them like a hawk. So, he did, for a long time. Only stopped by his own body failing him, as exhaustion claimed him.
