I'm back. I finished that 'What If' story I promised you all for April Fool's (Yes, I know. I'm VERY late. My perfectionism borders on self-abuse sometimes).

The other thing I wanted to mention is that I'm planning on taking a break for a while. After 19 months of writing nothing but Subaru and Emilia I just feel burned out on them. These are the longest term roommates I ever had. And while I like spending with them and seeing where they go, I worry that the burn out is negatively impacting my writing and creativity and I really don't want to let you guys down by publishing anything that isn't worth your time.
So to refresh myself, I'm going to be working on an original story for a bit before I come back to the world of Re:Zero.

I'm currently outlining a story that has some Stranger Things/Twin Peak elements where a girl breaks the frame of her only picture of her deceased mother and discovers that it's actually just a picture cut out from a magazine. With her only relative already dead, the girl goes on a quest to find out who she really is. This will lead her and her friends to a small town with a dark secret and a group of people who want the past to stay buried. It will also lead them to a secret, centuries in the making and a door that leads to a House without Walls.

I want to publish at least part one of a new story before I come back to Re:Zero. I'm hoping this will reinvigorate me and ensure that Arc 5 is really something special that you'll all enjoy reading.
