Loud Hearts Chapter 18
Spector Town Part 3: Reunions
Hello everyone and welcome to part 3 of the Danny Phantom World. I hope you all are ready!
Lincoln: Yeah! Time to go save Star and kick some ghost butt!
Yeah Lincoln! You seem very happy today.
Lincoln: Well yeah! We're going to go save Star now! And I feel pretty confident that we will get her back easily!
Well keep up that attitude dude. Also, no comments about me taking so long to update?
Lincoln: Hey college has been busy for you. I'm surprised you even find the time in the first place.
….You just want the story to continue don't you?
Lincoln: Yes! I'm just so glad we found Leni! And I want to make sure she is taken to Traverse Town as soon as possible.
Ohhhh….Right. Hey, I'm going to get this story started but….you and I need to have a talk….
Oh. Also I have a big announcement. I have apparently inspired a fellow Fanfiction writer to make his own version of a Kingdom Hearts Crossover Story. I have helped him come up with some of it and since my story was the inspiration it may seem….familiar at first. But being an official co-writer for the story, I know more about where the story is going and the main cast. So without giving any spoilers let's just say it will be very different from mine just with the characters alone. The author is known as Jay-money-2022 and the story is called "Kingdom Hearts: A Loud Adventure." And if it's not already by the time I upload this chapter, he is rewriting chapter 2. I've also talked to Jay-money about some of his other stories that all sound amazing so hopefully you will check those out when they are posted.
So without anymore interruptions let's continue the show!
(The Ghost Zone: Just as Lincoln and the Gang met Danny)
Vlad Masters, or more commonly known in his current form, Vlad Plasmius, flew across the Ghost Zone looking for someone. Someone that would provide the perfect distraction for his enemies and possibly stop that Phantom boy once and for all!
It is rumored that there is a powerful ghost in the zone, one that can create and control all plants. He speaks to them like his own children. Undergrowth is his name.
Plasmius has known about this ghost for a while. The rumors at least. Undergrowth has been said to not be seen for many years now, but the activity back on Earth is said to be bringing him out of hiding. He seems to be angry at how humans are treating the nature of Earth. Course he is a part of that 'problem' but Undergrowth doesn't need to know that.
Suddenly, Plasmius felt another presence. A strong one. If he followed the directions right, then he found Undergrowth. Looking around he saw many of the normally plain purple rocks were covered in vines and moss, but he did not see anyone else. Then again, this was a zone filled with ghosts.
"I know you are here. If you wouldn't mind showing yourself, I was hoping to have a chat." Plasmius proposed. Suddenly a giant ghost, as tall as at least a six-story building, appeared! His body was completely made out of vines with thorns big enough to be considered spikes covering his shoulders and head. He has red eyes, wears a cape that looks like it is made of moss and…a beak for a mouth? Okay everything else checks out but why does a ghost themed around plants have a beak?
'Questions for later.' Plasmius thought to himself. Despite the beak, there was no doubt about it, this was Undergrowth.
"And to what do I owe this visit?" Undergrowth asked.
"I have come searching for you, Undergrowth. I have heard you are making your way to Earth because of what those humans are doing to the wildlife. I have come to make a proposition that could benefit both of us." Plasmius said hoping he sounded convincing enough.
"Well you seem to know about me. But tell, me before I agree to anything, what is your name?" Undergrowth asked. His interest peaked, but he was not a fool.
"Of course. I am known as Plasmius, I have come to ask-ack!" But before he could finish several vines sprang at him at once trapping him!
"Oh, I know who you are! You are that fool that brought back the Ghost King! And if that wasn't enough you are the main reason the humans in that wretched town are destroying the 'nature' as you call it! My children tell me everything, Masters, so give me one good reason why I should let you leave alive?" As he spoke, he dragged Plasmius so that were face to face. "Even now I hear my children screaming in pain!"
'Well, there goes getting him to join willingly…honestly I think I like plan B better.' Plasmius thought. He looked Undergrowth in the eyes. Without a word he broke through Undergrowth's vines, the light almost blinding Undergrowth!
"Ahh! How dare you?!" Undergrowth said his eyes becoming redder in anger! He once again sent multiple vines to capture Plasmius but Plasmius either dodged them or burned them enough to keep them from growing right away. If any got too close, he would form a barrier between him and the vine pushing it back! At any chance he got Plasmius would fire energy blasts at Undergrowth to try and slow him down, but any spot he hit just regrew before the next blast even hit him!
'Regeneration. Fastest I've ever seen.' He thought. He would find that useful if this dang plant just joined him! Hoping to gain the upper hand he quickly used one of his favorite techniques and made three copies of himself! The four Plasmius spread out to attack from different angles to overwhelm Undergrowth. But he kept a close eye on them and focused on the one that was the original! Undergrowth sent blast after blast focusing mainly on the original Plasmius but also taking out the clones. He sent two vines fast enough that two of the copies on his right were immediately taken out! The energy blast they kept sending were just more annoying than anything else.
Suddenly the third clone and the original Plasmius met to face Undergrowth head on both charging his strongest attack! Before Undergrowth could react, they let loose their ectoplasm beams getting a direct hit!
Undergrowth tried to raise his arms to defend himself but even if he could the beams were strong enough, they would have gone straight through him! Unable to stop it Undergrowth screamed in pain as he was almost vaporized from the chest up!
Where there were two of Plasmius a second ago there now only stood one. Plasmius was no fool. He saw those regeneration powers. Add the fact Undergrowth is a plant ghost and he should be back in…. "Three..Two..One." And as predicted Undergrowth started to regrow! Even for a ghost his regeneration is incredible.
"You will pay for that!" Undergrowth yelled.
"Oh? Do you mean to tell me that wasn't enough?" Plasmius mocked. He clearly had the upper hand. However, he was so in his boasting that Plasmius didn't see a smaller, spiked, vine reaching for his foot! (Undergrowth had it sneaking up on him before he fully regenerated)
Suddenly Plasmius felt it wrapped around his ankle, and before he could react was once again trapped, now hanging upside down! 'I really just let that happen, didn't I?' He thought to himself.
"You really thought you could take me halfling!? By yourself nonetheless! You humans are all the same! So arrogant!"
Plasmius just chuckled, finding it funny that Undergrowth really thought he had the upper hand. "Considering how easy I escaped earlier, yes I do." He smirked, his eyes going redder. "And who said I was alone?" Suddenly, with a snap of his fingers several Regrets, the same Heartless that Skulker used against those kids, appeared surrounding the two! Undergrowth looked around and saw that he was indeed surrounded! He looked back at Plasmius preparing for what could happen next.
"These creatures do not look that strong. Even if I am outnumbered their strength doesn't even compare to you." Undergrowth boasted showing he was not afraid at all. "And I could just kill you before they even have a chance to do anything! You are only a half ghost after all!" Undergrowth threatened.
"Maybe if I was a child that would scare me." Plasmius mocked not threatened at all. "And I know that their strength is weak. That is not why I summoned them." Vlad vaguely explained.
"Either way I have you trapped! What are you going to do?!" Undergrowth laughed tightening the vines around him.
"Oh good question. But I'm afraid I don't have the answer. Why don't you ask him?" Plasmius suggested with a grin. Confused Undergrowth looked up and couldn't believe his eyes! Just behind the swarm of Regrets was…another Plasmius! He had the biggest smile on his face, like he knew he has won.
"What?! But then who is-" Before Undergrowth could even finish his sentence the Plasmius he was holding captor just disappeared! *Poof*
"Clones really are useful aren't they?!" Plasmius laughed again. He always like pulling that trick. But now he must get back to business. "If you had let me finish explaining my offer, you would have been told you are going to help me one way or another, willingly or not." *Snap!*
And with that simple command all the Regrets mouths slowly opened, their seams coming undone, and screamed at Undergrowth! Unprepared for this the plant ghost tried to cover his ears but it was too much and severally weakened him! After a minute Plasmius ordered them to stop and whisked them away. They served their purpose.
"Like I said. Willing or not." He said as he floated over to face Undergrowth who was almost unconscious. The last thing he saw was a strange dark aura covering Plasmius as the half ghost reached a hand out to him.
"Looks like phase one is complete. Now for phase two." Plasmius smirked. He watched as the same dark aura that covered him started to clock the ghost. Those keyblade wielders won't know what hit them.
(Back in the Fenton household)
Lincoln and Lana and Leni were all still standing in the same spots they were in when Leni walked into the room. No one wanting to move wondering if this was a dream. But after a minute, Lincoln and Lana broke the silence in the room and jumped over the back of the couch to their sister causing her to fall on her back from the force of her two siblings. All three are a sobbing mess as they hugged each other. "I can't believe we found you!" Lincoln celebrated wiping away his tears.
"We've missed you so much!" Lana added, giving her a stronger hug.
"OMG so have I!" Leni said, crying too much to say anything else. The three finally calmed down after a couple minutes and then remembered that there were other people in the room. The three looked at their friends blushing at the scene they were making. All three got up with Lincoln and Lana giving Leni another hug each around her legs/waist.
"Wait Leni you know these two?" Jazz asked.
"Like totally. They are two of my siblings that I told you about. Remember Danny, I mentioned my brother has white hair like you in your ghost form." Leni said without thinking. Danny couldn't say anything before she finished and just slapped himself in the face and sighed. There was no getting out of this was there?
"Uhhh, ghost form?" Steven asked now knowing a little more about what they saw before.
"Oh no! Uhhh, you guys didn't hear that. Danny is definitely not a ghost." She said before realizing what she implied. The four kids looked at Danny for an explanation.
"Danny, I think you may want to tell them. We don't really have a way out of this one. And they may need our help" Jazz said.
"Sorry Danny. But if it helps my siblings, are great secret keepers. I can't speak for the other two though." Leni said pointing to Marco and Steven.
"Oh right. Leni these two are Steven and Marco. We met them not long after getting separated from you and the others." Lincoln explained pointing to each boy respectively. Leni shook their hands glad her siblings found other friends throughout this whole ordeal. She then looked at Danny with a sheepish smile sad that she just gave away his secret.
"It's fine Leni. You just got reunited with some of your siblings. I'm sure there's a lot going through your head." Danny sighed. He couldn't get mad at the girl considering what happened. "So, what Leni said is half true. I'm a-a-a-a half ghost. Right now, I'm in my human form, but' as Danny spoke he turned back into his 'Phantom' form causing everyone to shield their eyes. "I am Phantom. The one you j-j-j-ust fought with." He explained. There was an awkward silence between everyone with Danny nervous how the four would react and Lincoln's gang trying to act surprised since they had technically seen this before.
"That's so cool!" Lana said, breaking the silence.
"You think s-s-s-so?" Danny asked. Whether the stutter was from him being cold or embarrassed no one would ever know.
"Totally! What kind of powers do you have? How did you get them? And why are you so cold?" Lincoln commented.
"Flight, energy beams, ghost sense, intangibility, able to turn invisible, I can technically duplicate but that one is still a work in progress, I would rather not say, and I don't know why I'm s-s-s-s-so cold."
"Awesome!" Steven said.
"Yeah, not goanna lie though dude. You look very similar between the two halves." Marco said bluntly.
"I know." Danny said.
"After I found out I kept wondering how no one else knew." Jazz laughed.
"Because I'm a very convincing liar?" Danny joked. He got a small jab from Jazz.
"Wait…how long have you been here Leni?" Lincoln asked getting back to the topic at hand.
"Ever since we got separated." Leni replied. Lincoln and Lana waiting for her to continue before Jazz spoke up.
"We found her in the basement. The ghost portal was open, and she was just lying on the floor unconscious. Our parents, specifically our dad, thought she was a ghost at first. I had to bribe him with fudge so I could bring her upstairs to make sure was okay."
"Why do you guys have a ghost portal?" Steven asked.
"And why would your parents think their sister is a ghost?" Marco added.
"O-our p-p-parents are ghost hunters. They are obsessed with becoming the best hunters in the world, but for a while ghosts were s-s-still thought to not to be real. So they built a portal to the Ghost Zone, b-b-basically the home all ghosts." Danny quickly explained.
"Our parents saw a random stranger laying in front of the portal, and while they can make a bunch of amazing, but usually stupid, inventions, they are not exactly the brightest of the bunch." Jazz finished hoping that answered Marco's question. "After proving your sister wasn't a ghost we offered to let her stay here while we tried to help her find her home."
"How did Leni find out about Danny?" Lana asked.
"…I plead the fifth." Danny replied.
"It was a couple days after Leni ended up here. He was tired and just finished a fight with Skulker, ironically. Transformed back to normal without even realizing Leni was in the room." Jazz sighed. She loved her brother but…well she was glad to be helping him now.
Before anyone else could talk there was a knock at the front door! Danny, in panic, turned back to his human form as Jazz went to answer it. When she opened the door Jazz visible relaxed.
"Danny it's for you!" She said opening the door the rest of the way. On the other side of the door was two teens Danny's age. One male one female. The boy is African American, wearing a red cap, yellow shirt green pants and brown shoes. He also has glasses, black hair, and turquoise eyes. And is carrying some kind of hand held device. The girl also has black hair, but has violet eyes, a black tank top with a purple oval (Showing some of her midriff), a black skirt with a green crosshatch design, purple tights and black combat boots and a black bracelet on each wrist.
"Wow. Danny when did you get so many new friends?" The boy asked not expecting so many people to be in his friends house.
"Yeah. Are they from out of town?" The girl asked almost suspiciously.
Danny just sighed knowing they would have to explain everything once again. Everyone, this is Sam and T-tucker. Guys meet everyone." He joked.
(One quick explanation later)
While catching Danny's friends, Sam and Tucker, up to speed, everyone went to sit in the living room. Lincoln, Lana, and Leni are sitting on the main couch, Leni in between both of them holding them close. Steven sat next to them at the end, and Marco sitting on the arm. He seems to be getting restless his foot tapping the floor. Danny sat on the single chair near a window while Jazz sat on the arm closet to the window. Sam and Tucker brought two chairs from the kitchen sitting near the front door.
"Okay. So long story short, Leni is these two older sister' Sam, the goth girl, said pointing to Lincoln and Lana, 'like her ended up in the ghost zone, were attacked by Skulker, one of them got kidnapped by him had to fight those weird creatures in your house, and to top it all off they found out you are Phantom?!"
"Y-yeah. That sums it up." Danny replied.
"You are taking this many people knowing your secret surprisingly well." Tucker commented.
"T-t-there's a lot going on today." Danny simply said. These kids already proved to be trustworthy by helping them take out those creatures, which Lincoln explained to them are called Heartless, and having the trust of Leni.
"And Danny has also come down with…something. He's been cold all day and turned a thermometer into an ice block earlier." Jazz added.
"Yeah we noticed. How long has this been going on Danny?" Tucker asked.
"S-s-since this m-morning. It's…part of the reason I couldn't meet you guys at the greenhouse." He said looking at his current guests. Who are obviously the other reason he couldn't meet up with them.
"No offense but it's probably a good thing you didn't come. May have frozen some of my plants." Sam said slightly joking.
"Jeez thanks." Danny sarcastically replied. At this point Marco finally saw an opportunity to speak having been quiet for Lincoln and Lana.
"Okay. So now that everyone is caught up…you mentioned you possibly knew who hired that Skulker guy?" Marco asked trying to get back to their mission. They were getting really sidetracked. The only reason he didn't say anything sooner is because of Lincoln and Lana reuniting with one of their sisters. But they needed to hurry for Star. He held onto Star's wand inside his pocket for comfort. 'Please be okay.' He thought.
"Oh right! A g-g-ghost known as Plasmius. If anyone would h-h-hire Skulker its him."
"Do you know how to get there?" Steven asked.
"His place is in the next state over." Jazz answered as Danny was still shivering.
"How are we supposed to get there?!" Lana asked. She was still standing next to Leni holding her older sister's hand. Leni glanced at Leni and Lana with a worried look. She almost looked like she was ashamed of what she was thinking.
"Well, Danny's parents have a speeder that can get us there. But even then, it can be a long drive." Tucker explained.
"W-w-we can get there faster if we g-g-o through the ghost zone." Danny said. "He a-also has a p-portal."
" 'We?' Danny you are in no condition to go fight Plasmius!" Tucker argued. As a close friend he had to object.
"S-someone has to show t-them the w-way." He said shivering. "And I-I-I'm the only one that can." He countered.
"Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone?" Sam suggested.
"What do you mean?" Marco asked.
"There is an area in the ghost zone known as the Far Frozen. It's home to a race of yeti like ghost. We are actually friends with them. If anyone could help with whatever is going on with Danny, they can. Cause its obviously ghost related." She stated as a matter of fact. Danny nodded in agreement. He didn't always like to take advantage of his friends in the ghost zone, with how few and far in between they are, but it looks like he has no choice.
"Okay so that helps Danny. But what about getting to Plasmius as fast as possible?" Lincoln asked.
"I'm getting there." Sam chided. "The leader of the ghosts, Frostbite. He has an item called an 'Infi-map.' It can take people anywhere in the ghost zone in an instant."
"And they will let us use it?" Lana asked.
"They refer to Danny as the 'Great One.' Long story but basically anything Danny asks for, within reason, and they will help.
"Then what are we waiting for?!" Marco asked getting impatient. He needed to save Star.
"I-I guess nothing at this point. The 'Spector Speeder' is down in the basement." Danny said understanding the hurry.
'I don't remember seeing any kind of speeder in there.' Lincoln thought.
"It's probably hidden under a trap door or something." Liberty deduced.
'You've been quiet. I almost forgot you were here.'
"Haha. I was making sure you were concentrating…and letting you have your moment with Leni." Speaking of said sister, Leni grabbed both of her siblings before they could go down to the basement/lab. The same look from before still on her face. She had been surprisingly quiet for several minutes now, seeming to just enjoy that two of her siblings were back.
"Everyone else can go down. I need a moment with my siblings." Leni said very seriously. Surprising both Lincoln and Lana. Even Jazz who has gotten to know the girl since she has been staying with them.
Everyone else nodded going down to the lab. While the three Loud siblings stayed in the living room. Leni took a moment to take a deep breath before looking at her two siblings.
"Everything okay Leni?" Lincoln asked.
"What's wrong?" Lana asked.
"I….have a lot of questions. I barely understand anything that's been going on, ever since we got separated and now. What I do understand is that whatever you are about to go do is possible…very dangerous. And I can't explain it, but I can tell you have both changed in so many ways. So, I'll ask this question once." She said getting down to her knees to be eye level with Lincoln and closer to Lana. Before pulling them into another hug, holding back tears. Lincoln and Lana didn't know how to respond other than hugging her back never seeing her like this before.
"Do you t-t-two have to go? I don't want to sound s-selfish, but can the others handle this?" Leni asked chocking up from her tears again. She knows the two can fight, that last night they had together showed they can take care of themselves. And she can tell they have grown stronger, but as one of the oldest siblings she still felt responsible for them.
"L-Leni…. we have to." Lana said. "She's, our friend. She's been with us ever since we got separated." She told her. Her and Lincoln's eyes getting watery as well. Everything was happening so fast they didn't even think of how Leni would feel about going off to rescue their friend just after finding her!
"But I just got you back!" Leni cried. "I don't want to possible lose you again!" She broke away from the hug sitting in the same spot. Her tears running down her face.
"Leni, we aren't defenseless." Lincoln said summoning his "Brother's Key" Keyblade. "We can fight. We've been traveling different worlds looking for you and the others."
*Sniff.* Wiping away her tears Leni looked at Lincoln's keyblade surprised by the confidence her brother was showing. "Have you found any of the others?" She asked. She didn't even bother to question what her brother meant by 'worlds.'
At that question Lana and Lincoln both frowned. "You're the first. Except for Lily. She thankfully ended up on the same world as us. It's a sort of safe haven for people like us. That lost their home. We met some friends there that were willing to take care of her while we searched for you and the others." Lincoln explained.
"Oh. A-at least Lily is safe. I was honestly worried about her the most being a baby and all." Leni sighed feeling some relief.
"Yeah. And of course, once we save Star we want to take you back as well." Lana said.
"Lincoln I need to interject here." Liberty said.
'What is it?" Lincoln asked while still comforting Leni.
"I can't explain everything right now. But you need to convince Lana to stay with Leni while you save Star. For both of their protections." Lincoln became confused. He thought about asking Lana to stay, but for both her own and Leni's protection?
'Why?' Lincoln asked.
"It's a lot to explain. But for now I'll leave it at that I'm worried about the Heartless coming back. You remember what I said about what attracts them?"
Lincoln thought back to what Liberty explained earlier. The Heartless are drawn to a few things, the Keyblade, the light of the worlds, and those strong in the lig-
'You don't mean…Leni-'
"She is very strong in the light. It is said that everyone has some darkness in them. But with Leni, she radiates light. I don't want to assume anything, but if I'm right Lana needs to stay here. Plus, she was Skulkers original target so she probably shouldn't be coming in the first place." Liberty explained vaguely. Lincoln wanted to ask more questions but knew they were on the clock. He looked over to his younger sister who noticed how quiet he got.
"Lana, maybe you should sit this mission out." Lincoln started.
"What?!" Lana asked shocked. 'I thought we had a deal?!' she thought. "How come?!" She asked. Lincoln took a deep breath thinking of how to phrase his response.
"For Leni. The Heartless could show up again any moment. And someone needs to be here to protect her." He smirked ruffling her head. "And you and Leni will get a chance to catch up." He added.
"I have so much I could tell you about." Leni added in hoping Lana would stay with her. She knew she couldn't stop both of them, so Lana possibly staying made her extremely happy.
Lana thought about what her brother said. She wanted to argue saying that she was the reason that Star was kidnapped in the first place, but then again that could be used as a reason for her not to go. She sighed realizing she backed HERSELF into a corner! And she didn't want to hurt Leni's feelings.
"Alright. But if you guys don't get back soon enough, I will be coming after you." She countered.
"Hopefully it won't come to that. And I trust you to take care of Leni." He spoke. Hugging both of his sisters.
"Be careful." Leni said. Trying to hold back tears again.
"I will. I promise next time I see you I will explain everything." Lincoln smiled so glad to have one of his sisters back.
"Oh Lincoln! You still need to show Lana how to upgrade her keyblade!" Liberty suddenly remembered.
"Oh right!" He said out loud by accident. Leni and Lana looked at him confused. "I-I just remembered something!" He said scratching the back of his head. "Lana can you bring out your keyblade?" He asked.
Lana nodded summing her blade. "You still have that keychain you asked me about?" He asked. Lana once again nodded grabbing the chain with the water symbols she got back at Aang's world.
"Why do you need this?" She asked referring to the chain.
"During that giant Heartless fight…I got this intuition to switch out my keychains with one that just appeared in my pocket. Much like yours." He explained knowing now is not the time to mention Liberty.
"Smooth." Said girl joked.
Lincoln took the keychain from Lana clipping it to her keyblade, choosing to ignore Liberty's comment. "This is how I got my new keyblade forms." He explained. In a flash of light Lana's keyblade completely transformed much like Lincoln's! The color scheme completely changed from green to blue, the blade looking like small waves were moving across it. The guard was a darker blue the frog legs turned into what looked like water spouting out from the sides. The top of the blade had just three teeth each one looking like a wave about to wash over a surfboarder ending in an ocean white. One thing Lana noticed is that this Keyblade felt lighter and…. stronger. But not in strength. She felt her magic become stronger.
"Awesome!" Lana exclaimed. "I can't wait to try this out!"
"Hopefully not too much while I'm gone." Lincoln chuckled.
"Lincoln! Lana! Are you guys almost done!?" They heard Steven yelled.
Lincoln looked at his sisters and without a word gave them both a hug at the same time. Both returning it.
"I love you, Lincoln. Please come back safe and with your friends." Leni said.
"I love you both too. And I will. I'll be back before you know it." He smiled. "I'm heading down!" Lincoln yelled back, running to the lab.
(On the roofs across the house)
Atop the roofs, a small figure sat across from Fenton Works. Wearing a brown robe to hide their identity while watching those inside Fenton Works. Specifically watching Leni. Their target was right there. But there were too many other people. They had to wait until they separated, to lessen the chance of anyone finding out who they are. The hood had been down so has to not block her sight, they pulled it back up as Lincoln walk out of the room.
"Plasmius said he had his 'Friend' on the way. It seems I'll have to wait for him to show up after all." They thought out loud. For now, they must remain hidden and not show themselves until the right moment.
(Back in the lab)
"Where's Lana?" Steven asked as Lincoln walked into the lab.
"She's staying here. To stay with Leni, and because we are going to the person who hired for her to be captured in the first place." Lincoln explained. He looked over and saw a new vehicle that was definitely not in the lab before. Looks like Liberty was right about some kind of trap door. It was almost about a quarter of the length of the room but when looking at the front, saw it can only hold three people.
"So who all is going?" Lincoln asked.
"I s-still have enough strength to fly. I prefer it anyways. T-Tucker is going to drive the speeder, and the t-t-three of you can still ride if s-s-someone doesn't mind sitting on the f-f-floor." Danny explained. "I don't know how long it will take to f-f-fix whatever is going on with m-m-me. So, you'll need all the power you have to take on S-Skulker. And possibly Plasmius."
Lincoln nodded in understanding. "Jazz and I will stay here to help your sisters if those creatures show back up." Sam explained. Holding up a ghost blaster.
"Thank you. I know we threw a lot at you guys." Lincoln thanked the two.
"Oh please, if you knew half the things that have happened to us, you would know this is just a normal Monday for us." Jazz joked.
"Let's get going!" Marco said from inside the cockpit.
Without a word Lincoln jumped into the cockpit taking a seat next to Marco. Steven already sitting on the floor between them. Lincoln made eye contact with Marco. "I'm sorry we got sidetracked." Lincoln said.
"No-no you are not apologizing for finding your sister. I'm just worried about her." Marco stopped Lincoln. He wanted to hurry, but they couldn't go head first into danger. And the whole point of exploring other worlds is to find their friends and family. As they talked, Tucker got the speeder started up getting ready to go.
"I'm sure Star is okay. She's really tough." Steven added.
"Oh you don't know the half of it." Marco chuckled. Soon the two of them and Ja-….oh no.
"Guys." Marco whispered. "How do you think they will react to seeing another ship out there?"
Steven and Lincoln's eyes went wide realizing they never told Danny about their own ship. How were they going to get out of this one?!
Tucker gave Jazz a thumbs up signaling for her to open the door. She did so and Tucker flew through the portal Danny, in his ghost form of course, following behind.
Suddenly as the speeder was going through the portal a familiar ghost flew directly into the speeder hitting the windshield! Completely blocking their view.
"I am the Box Ghost! You cannot get rid of me th-" Unfazed Tucker hit a button activating the wipers making them go so fast it looked like the ghost was getting punched! "Ow! Oh! Stop- ow- this!" Eventually the wipers finally knocked the ghost off who then got hit by a beam from Danny. Causing him to hit one of the giant floating purple rocks.
"Can and will." Tucker said.
"Wow. Jazz wasn't kidding about you guys being used to this." Lincoln laughed at how easy Tucker got rid of that ghost. Steven looked out the window trying to spot the Gummi ship. He the saw a part of it hiding behind some of the rocks. Not noticeable unless you were looking for it specifically.
'Garnet must have used her future vision.' Steven thought in relive. He turned around and gave a thumbs up to Lincoln and Marco who also sighed in relief.
"Yep. That's team Phantom for you." Tucker said before pausing to think. "Although to be fair, he's not a very strong ghost. He's more of an annoyance than a threat. Even most of Amity Park isn't afraid of him anymore. If he would stop trying to cause trouble, we wouldn't have to worry about him at all." Marco and Steven laughed both having similar situations from back from their home worlds. Lincoln meanwhile just looked at them confused as if he was missing an inside joke.
"Tucker stay f-f-focused on driving. We don't know w-who we may run into here." Danny said through a communication device. Apparently called the Fenton Phones, they were basically walkie-talkies but acted as an headphone.
"Hopefully it will be smooth sailing to the Far Frozen." Tucker said.
Suddenly just ahead of them, a group of Heartless, the small ghost like ones and the Red Rhapsody (Shoots fireballs) appeared out of nowhere as if they were waiting for someone to say what Tucker said.
"You jinxed it." All the others said, Danny included.
"Get ready for a bumpy ride! We might be able to outrun them!" Tucker said. Danny fired some of his energy beam while Tucker used the Spector Speeders weapons the others not able to do much from the inside. However, there were too many Heartless and fireballs kept continuously hitting the speeder!
"Steven, can you make a bubble big enough to cover the ship and Danny?" Lincoln asked.
"I can try, but I don't think I've ever made one that big before!" Steven said. Suddenly the speeder shook violently causing Steven to fall back on his butt! "If we keep shaking like this, I may not be able to make any bubbles!"
"What the heck are bubbles!?" Tucker asked.
"They're shields I can make. But I need to be able to concentrate on it to make one to cover the ship." Steven explained. "And probably should be outside the ship. Is there a hatch to the top?"
Tucker nodded figuring it would be better to go along with these new friends. "No. But you should be able to jump up there. Gravity is almost nonexistent here. Danny! Can you distract their fire?" Tucker asked through his comm.
I c-can try. But I don't k-know for how l-l-long!" He responded. They saw Danny fly in front of them, firing at the Heartless, drawing their attention. Hitting the Red Rhapsody's stopping their attacks. Some of them actually got close to Danny trying to use their close-range attacks…only to be frozen the moment they touched him! How cold was he!?
The speeder stopped shaking enough for Steven to get back up and run to the front of the speeder. Tucker opened the top quick enough for Steven to jump out the side and grab the speeder! Climbing up the top. Once he was on the center, he took a deep breath imagining the bubble he needed. "Get ready!" Steven said. Tucker quickly closed the top activating his comm.
"Danny either get in or close to the ship!" Tucker alerted him.
"Roger!" Danny said turning intangible and flying into the cockpit.
Just has he made it in Steven made a bubble covering the complete Spector Speeder! Just in time too has almost a dozen fireballs started heading towards them!
"If we can go faster that would be nice!" Steven yelled.
"On it!" Tucker replied. "Hold on!" The speeder then zoomed off quickly losing the Heartless trying to chase them.
"And we are in the clear!" Tucker cheered.
"G-g-g-g-good. L-l-l-let's get to the F-far….*shiver* Danny paused what he was saying feeling much colder.
"Danny!" Tucker exclaimed in shock as he turned to his friend. Looking at his face he looked like he was turning blue!
"We need to hurry!" Lincoln said pulling out a potion hoping it would help Danny enough to slow the cold. Hopefully nothing too eventful was happening back at Fenton Works.
(Inside Fenton Works)
"So, you've just been staying here?" Lana asked Leni.
"Yep. I tried telling Danny and his friends where we lived, but when they tried to look up the address it nothing came up. I think they said there isn't even a Royal Woods in Michigan. Which I thought was weird of course." Leni explained.
"It's funny how similar this world is to ours." Lana commented. Sam and Jazz were upstairs giving the two some personal time so Lana figured it would be okay to talk freely. "Yet so different."
"That's the second time I've heard you guys mention worlds." Leni remarked. "I know Lincoln said he would explain everything, but I have so many questions."
"Right. Well to put it simply, we aren't in our world. Which it sounds like you are already putting that together. Apparently, there are a ton of different worlds out there.' Lana said thinking of Traverse Town and Aang's world, 'One's that are completely different from ours. And some like this that are similar but also have huge differences." She explained.
"And you and Lincoln have been going to them to look for us?" Leni asked glad she had such determined siblings. But also worrying for their safety.
"Yes! We got this awesome ship that lets us travel to other worlds! Counting this one, this is only the third world we've been to. In the last one we even found some friends of Steven, Star and Marco." Lana quickly explained, getting excited to share her adventure with one of her siblings. "Oh and wait until you get to Traverse Town! It's constantly night there with an amazing view of stars! Lily will be so excited to see you!"
Leni smiled finally feeling truly happy for the first time in a long time. "I can't wait to see her again. I do hope the others are okay."
Lana looked at her older sister. She didn't have the heart to tell her that the chance all of their siblings made it to other worlds was very low. According to the gang back at Traverse Town. The fact they found her was nothing short of a miracle! "I'm sure they are fine. If we found you, then surely the others are okay. Especially Lynn. She's the toughest of us all!" Lana said. She wasn't sure if that counted as a lie, or hopefulness…really it was both. She mentioned Lynn because she has always looked up to her as an older sister and would definitely be doing everything she could to find the others like her and Lincoln are doing.
"So what are those things anyway? Those swords that you and Lincoln use?"
"Oh! Right, never properly explained." Lana slightly chuckled as she got off the couch and summoned her keyblade. "These are called keyblades. Basically magical weapons that can defeat those dark creatures. Oh, look at this!" Lana proceeded to summon her barrier to show off to Leni.
"Ohhh. Sparkly!" Leni commented noticing how the barrier shine and sparkled. "What does it do?"
"It's…uh a shield basically. But it protects me from all sides! Doesn't do much more than that though." As she explained Lana let the barrier down thinking of what else she can show Leni. "This keyblade also gave me a lot of other cool things! I can run faster, jump superhigh, I can even use magic!" To prove her point Lana ran over to the doorway that entered into the kitchen, jumping up high enough to touch the top board of the doorway!
"Wow! That is cool! But what about magic?" Leni asked enjoying seeing Lana show her these new abilities.
"Well I've only learned two spells so far. Fire and ice. I only use that when fighting Heartless though. I don't want to break anything."
"I guess that makes since." Leni agreed.
"So, what kind of ghostly adventures have you had?" Lana asked wanting to learn what Leni has been up to. In the back of her mind, she was hoping that Lincoln and the others were doing okay.
(Deep in the ghost zone)
Okay. We should almost be at the Far Frozen. As soon as we get there, we need to make sure Danny gets them the medical attention he needs. As soon as everything calms down, we can ask for the map." Tucker explained as he started to see snow covered rocks. Danny was becoming so cold he was almost covered in ice, almost like he needed to let it out.
"Ummm…. Probably a little late to ask this but how friendly are these ghosts?" Marco asked. Steven, who was let back in after they got far enough away from the Heartless, nodded wondering the same thing.
"Oh don't worry. They are actually very civilized and have some really cool tech. As long as we don't give them a reason to fight we should be fine." And once they find out we have Danny with us will be treated as esteemed guests!" Tucker explained. "Frostbite is a very 'chill' dude." Tucker joked causing everyone else to groan.
Unfortunately for Tucker, the universe just seemed to hate him! For after he made this statement, *Bang* they all felt the speeder begin to violently shake once again!
"More Heartless?" Lincoln asked trying not to trip. He was staying close to Danny keeping an eye one the ghost boy.
"I don't know. I can't see anything. Whatever is attacking us is either on top or behind us!" Tucker answered.
"How far are we from the Far Frozen?" Marco asked.
"We're in the area. But still a little way to the city." Tucker explained as he tried to keep the speeder steady. *Bang* *Bang*
Lincoln listened to the banging around the ship and how the speeder kept loosing balance. It was almost like someone, or something, was…. jumping across it?
"Tucker land the speeder!" Lincoln told the older boy.
"What?! Why?"
"Whatever is on top of us is trying to knock us out of the sky, and we can't fight with the speeder moving. So let's give them what they want.
"Understood. I'll stay with Danny. Hopefully you guys can handle whatever's out there. In fact…" Without another word, Tucker pressed a button to his left opening a small drawer that had three devices inside. They seemed to be made by Danny's parents much like the speeder. They have a wrist strap and what looks like tiny blasters attached to them.
"What are these?" Marco asked picking one up.
"Ghost wrist rays. In case whatever out there' *Bang!* 'isn't those weird Heartless creatures. Put them on quick!"
Not wanting to waste time, the three of them all put on the wrist rays admiring how they looked.
"Okay I'm about to land the speeder! *Bang!* "Get ready!" Tucker warned.
"Steven, as soon as we go outside make a shield over us." Lincoln told him. "You guys ready?"
"About as ready as we can be!" Marco replied. Tucker finally found a wide enough place to land heading towards it immediately.
"What Marco said." Steven agreed putting a shield above them. Tucker stopped the speeder completely getting ready to open the hatch and make a run for it to Danny.
"Tucker open the hatch!" Lincoln said letting him know they were ready. Tucker gave a thumbs up opening the speeder for them to exit and then running to where Danny was lying trying to keep warm. Lincoln summoned his keyblades and the three ran out charging to fight whatever dared to face them!
…. Only to be shocked to find that not only was there multiple what looked like Heartless ghost attacking them! But someone was jumping around the speeder ripping them off one by one. The top of the speeder was covered in, yet another knew ghost Heartless! This one looking like a green octopus but with a heartless sigil on its center head. However, these Heartless were not that big only slightly bigger than the shadow Heartless.
What surprised them the most was not the Heartless however, but the creature fighting them from atop the speeder! A white-haired beast wearing a blue cape and gold kilt, and a gold colored armband stood before them. He was at least three times the size of any of the boys in height alone! Other notable features are the horns made of ice and his left arm was also completely made of ice! With the bones still visible as well!
No one moved at first not sure if this beast was a friend or foe. He was fighting the Heartless so that was a plus. Lincoln noticed he looked kind of like a yeti and wondered if this was one of those ghost Tucker and Sam mentioned.
"Giant yeti ghost. You know you think you've seen everything until you find something like this." Liberty commented.
'Coming from you that says a lot.' Lincoln replied. 'Do you think he's that ghost that Sam and Tucker mentioned?'
"Possible. Try talking to him before fighting. Course I shouldn't need to tell you that."
'Yeah. Who do you think I am? Lynn?" Lincoln joked. His sporty sister is definitely the fight first talk later type of person.
Suddenly as the yeti took out the last octopus Heartless, he turned to the three all have weapons at the ready. Marco currently the only one using his wristband ray. But before they could say anything he spoke first.
"You are not the 'Great One' or one of his friends! What are you doing flying one of his ships?" The yeti asked.
"Uhh…we are friends of Danny actually, or the 'Great One' as you call him." Lincoln said.
"And how do I know I can trust you?"
"He's inside the speeder. Along with his friend Tucker. We are looking for someone known as Frostbite. He needs help." Marco said.
The yeti jumped down to the three, causing each to take a step back. He looked very serious, as if they just said something wrong…only for him to suddenly smile and laugh! "Ahahah. Well, you are in luck! For I am Frostbite!" The now named Frostbite said. "Show me where 'The Great One' is!" He asked.
"Over here!" Tucker said coming out of the speeder once he heard frostbite's voice. He was carrying a still frozen Danny who wasn't even able to talk anymore from all the shivering.
"Great One what has happened?!" Frostbite asked running over to Danny.
"D-d-d-d-…" Danny couldn't even finish his sentence.
"We thought you could help him. He's been cold all day and started to just get covered in ice!" Tucker explained.
"Hmmm. I think I know what is going on. But we must get him medical attention fast! My city is not far from here." Frostbite said picking up Danny. Without another word he flew away to get Danny there as quickly as possible.
"So that was Frostbite?" Steven asked.
"Yep. Now get back in the speeder! We can't waste time!" Tucker told them.
Lincoln was about to step inside when he felt something under his foot. Looking down he saw two weird charms. They were round shaped like a ball, the top half was red and the bottom half was white, and there was what looked like a button on the center. There was something about these charms, Lincoln couldn't explain it. Before he could think more about he was pulled out of his distraction.
"Lincoln come on!" Steven yelled. Lincoln quickly put the two charms in his pocket running to the others. Once inside Tucker started it up catching up to Frostbite. In no time they reached a small city filled with many yeti ghosts that looked very much like Frostbite but without the ice arm.
Frostbite quickly took Danny to what was their version of a hospital. The others could just barely keep up, almost losing sight of him more than once. As Frostbite took Danny in he told the other ghosts that the 'Great One' needed immediate medical attention. They all got to work getting any necessary equipment. And before they knew it Danny was in a healing tank of some kind the ice around his body slowly melting. After about ten or so minutes Tucker finally spoke.
"So, what is wrong with him?" Tucker asked.
"Well, it would seem the early readings so far are proving what I thought." Frostbite said. "'The Great One's' core is becoming overloaded. I actually sensed that he had one when we first met, but I didn't realize he had no clue about it.
"Core?" Lincoln asked.
"Yes. Your friend as an ice core." Frostbite explained pointing to some x-rays of Danny. If trained properly he can achieve cryokinetic powers. But right now, he has used it so little, that it is starting to become too much. Hence the ice that started to cover his body. We can get him back to normal temperatures. But to really help him we will have to train him how to use his ice powers. Ice powers can actually be very useful for fighting ghosts. Especially those that are plant or fire based."
"How long will it take for him to wake up?" Marco asked. He wanted Danny to be okay, but they needed to go get Star.
"With how frozen he's become…it could possibly take a few hours. He's lucky you all brought him when you did."
"Hours?!" All the kids exclaimed.
"Yes? Are you in a hurry?" Frostbite asked.
"Well, they are." Tucker said pointing to the other three. "You know who Skulker is right? The hunter."
"Yes, I am aware of him." Frostbite acknowledged.
"He kidnapped a friend of theirs. Using her as bait. Normally we would wait for Danny, but we don't know if we can wait that long. So, we were hoping that we could borrow the Infini-map to get to him faster?" Tucker asked.
Frostbite seemed to consider Tucker request. "You know very well that the Infini-map is very powerful. 'The Great One almost lost it once already. And now you expect me to let three complete strangers use it?"
"We had to bring Danny to someone who could help him. We will get to where we need to go either way. But we must go save our friend now. We promise to bring the map back if you let us borrow it. "
"And I can speak for Danny. He agreed the best thing to do would be to the map." Tucker said.
"Hmmmm. If the 'Great One' was not in such critical condition, I would ask to wait until he is better. But this clearly a matter of importance for all of you. I have a good feeling about you. So, I will give the map." Frostbite said. Pulling his cape up he pulled the map out of a hidden pocket.
"You just carry that on you?" Marco asked.
"It's the last thing anyone would suspect." Frostbite simply responded. He wasn't wrong. None of them expected that.
"This map has the location of every natural or man-made portal between Earth and The Ghost Zone. All you have to do is point to the portal you need and it will take you there.
"Thank you Frostbite." Tucker said. He took the map handing it to Lincoln. "Danny and I will get there as soon as possible. You three go ahead. As soon as you rescue your friend use the map to go back to Danny's house. And careful not to use any of the natural ones. They often lead to different periods in time."
"Good to know." Lincoln said grabbing the map. Looking at it, he realized one problem.
"Hey Tucker. Where's the portal we need?"
"Oh I knew I forgot something!" Several head slaps could be heard at that comment. Tucker showed them the location, of both Plasmius's portal and the Fenton portal. Thanking Frostbite one more time, and promising to bring the map back, they made sure they were ready to go walking out of the building. Tucker wishing them good luck.
"Let's go save Star." Lincoln said choosing their location vanishing in a blur of green as they were warped to their destination. Before they left, Lincoln couldn't help but think about Lana and Leni, hoping they weren't being attacked by the Heartless too much. Preferably at all.
(Back in Amity)
The figure was still sitting atop the roof watching their target. So far, the white haired boy and a few others have yet to show up again. Hopefully meaning they left. However, there are still two more people currently in the upstairs section. They should not be a problem though. The real problem is going to be the younger girl that also wields a keyblade.
'Where is Plasmius?' For this plan to work he better show up soon.
(End)
Alright! I have some stuff to explain! First of I am so sorry for not uploading anything since like October. Classes have been busy. And like the last chapter I had some trouble writing this at first. But Then I got a huge inspiration and started writing like crazy….to the point that this chapter became one of my longest ones yet! Which I was not suspecting obviously.
Now I know what you are thinking, "It doesn't seem that much longer than usual."
And you would be right. It's not. Not counting the authors notes this chapter is only over 8,000 words. My average word count for this story….That's because I had to split the original version into two parts! The original chapter was over 30 pages! And over 16,000 words! And it's still not done. I was going to release it as one chapter but I realized it would stick out as being way too long. Not to mention so much happens in the second half….Remember me mentioning those boss fights? Yeah the other half is focusing completely on those. I said it was only two boss fights….but what I didn't mention is that it's two boss fights with two opponents each! So technically it's four! While this chapter focuses on Lincoln and Lana reuniting with Leni and forming their plan to rescue Star. As well as making new friends.
But do not worry. I have most of it written so I hope to have what is officially the first Part 4 for a world, out within the week, if not the next few days! It's almost done I swear. I know this chapter is a little slow so hopefully the next one will make up for it.
And since I am almost done with it, I will save the responding to comments for the next chapter. As always please follow, fave, subscribe if you read this on AO3, and please don't be afraid to comment! I love getting feedback!
Lincoln: Bye! Oh and you and I need to talk.
What is it?
Lincoln: Oh you know very well what it is 7! Stop putting my siblings in mortal danger!
Hey, hey no spoilers! *Looks at readers* You guys' better leave.
