Chapter 27: Battle for Beacon Part 2
Back with Penny and Ruby they were on top of the airship and the two girls then saw the Grimm Dragon flying pass them along with other Griffon Grimm that was passing by them as well. The two of them managed to dodge two Griffions that landed on the airship. Ruby with her Crescent Rose and Penny with her swords of floating array swung multiple slashes at the Griffions knocking them back.
Penny wasted little time and turned her swords into a giant shiruken and she threw it the Griffon slicing it in half and killing it and Ruby jumped at her Griffon and she slashed it multiple times as she appeared behind it and the Grimm fell down. The two of them then looked and saw Neo behind them and changing back into her regular outfit, as she took a picture of Ruby and Penny and winked at them.
Roman then got the pic it Ruby and Penny from Neo "oh you cannot be serious" Roman growled as he grabbed his cane and scroll and headed straight to the top of the airship.
Back with Blake she backed away a bit as she saw Adam "running away again is that what you become my love a coward?" Adam said.
"Why are you doing this?" Blake asked.
"You and I were going to change the world remember we were destined to light the fires of revolution" Adam said as he step on a man and drew his sword.
"Consider this a spark" Adam said as he was about to stab the man but Blake jumped and pushed him back as the two of them clash blades with each other creating sparks.
"I'm not running" Blake said.
"You will" Adam said as he kicked Blake back as a Grimm cane into the room and tried to attack Blake but Adam shot it with his sheath.
"But not before you suffer for your betrayal my love" Adam said as he was walking up towards Blake.
Back near Beacon the students who competed at the Vytal Festival was fighting off the Grimm and the Atlas drones but they weren't doing so good against the mechs as they were punching and pushing them around they tried shooting it down but to no avail.
"Uh this is bad" Neptune said as he realized none of their attacks were damaging the mech.
"Well now is as better time as any Velvet" Coco said as she turned to look at her friend and teammate.
"Really?" Velvet said as she looked at her team leader.
"Just make them count" Coco said as Velvet nodded.
Velvet was then walking up to the leche as she was preparing to face them.
"What are you doing she going to get hurt!" Weiss said to Coco.
"Just watch" Coco simply said as Velvet materialized Crescent Rose she then jumped into the air above the mech and she swung and spun down at it as he landed the materialized version of crescent rose disappeared and she created a version of Weiss weapon Myrtenaster
The mech swung at her but she created a aura barrier to block it pushing it back she then flip back and took multiple stabs at the mech before finally stabbing at the head knocking it back. She then created a version of Yang gauntlets and fired a few rounds shots at it but it wasn't effective she then ducked under the mech assault as she made a materialized version of gambol shroud and jumped and wrapped the mech around its rope causing it to fall down.
She then sense that another mech was about to attack her but she quickly slash and destroyed it arm with gambol shroud and threw it at its head causing it to malfunction. She then was shooting at at the mechs with a version of Coco weapon but as the mech was about to attack her she materialized Nora weapon and swung to block the attack knocking her in the air.
She then went and smashed it head with the hammer knocking its head from its body she then created a version of Penny weapon floating array as the swords floated behind backed flip off the destroyed much and used the swords to slash at legs of the mega causing them to fall then jumped down and brought the swords together in a circle and fired a laser at the mech.
But it wasn't effective as the mech went and punched Velvet knocking her back.
"Velvet!" Coco yelled.
Coco then rapidly fired at the mech with others joining her but their attacks didn't even have the growled in anger as she used her glyphs to quickly run after the Weiss surprise a giant glyph appeared behind her, Weiss then appeared in front of Velvet and held Myrtenaster up to block a incoming attack. The Schnee heiress closed her eyes to brace for the impact but once she opened her eyes she saw that a giant arm with a giant sword was blocking the mech's attack.
The arm that Weiss summoned wasted little time and separated itself from the mech and it used the sword to slash at the mech a couple of times and sliced it in half. Weiss looked at the arm she summoned as she saw and heard a flash as she looked and saw that Velvet took another picture of her.
She and the others heard a rumble as they looked and they saw a another giant mech running and quickly turned to face them.
"You've have got to be kidding me" Sun said not happy that he and the others were about to face another mech again.
Meanwhile back on top of the airship Penny and Ruby were dealing with Neo. Ruby was currently swinging crescent rose rapidly at Neo while at the same time Penny was using her swords to strike at Neo as her and Ruby was attacking together in perfect sync. But Neo was skillfully weaving and dodging their attacks she was also using her umbrella to block Penny sword slashes.
Neo dodged the oncoming slashes from Ruby and Penny by backflipping away from in order to try to gain some distance. Ruby who grabbed Crescent Rose as it was flipping through the air and Penny who had her swords aimed at Neo fired a gunshot and lasers at right hand woman of Torchwitch. The attacks had hit Neo but much to the surprise of the two girls Neo shattered which revealed Torchwick who fired two round shots at Penny and Ruby.
Penny on instinct quickly went in front of Ruby and turned her swords into a shiruken and spun it around blocking the attack but her and Ruby blocked the attacks but she and Ruby was pushed back a bit.
"Little Red Little Red you and your friend are just determined to be the heros' of Vale aren't ya" Roman said to Ruby and Penny.
"Roman Torchwick on behalf of the Atlas military your under arrest I demand you to seize control of this ship immediately"
"Hahaha you actually think you can arrest me especially with what's going on your in over your head their girlie!" Roman said as he laughed at Penny statement.
"Why are you doing this without these ships the Grimm will destroy everything" Ruby said.
"That's the plan" Roman said as he aimed his cane at Ruby and Penny and fired two fire dust gun shots from his cane but the girls quickly dodged it and Penny jumped at Roman and attack multiple times with her swords but Roman was doing a good job blocking and parrying her attacks with his cane.
At the same time Neo appeared behind Ruby and Ruby quickly turned around and quickly swung crescent rose but Neo ducked below just in time and time and did a sweeping kick tripping Ruby a then proceeded to kick Ruby square in the gut knocking her back.
"Gah!" Ruby said.
"Ruby!" Penny said as she turned to look at her friend but that was all that Roman needed as he fired a round at Penny causing a explosion knocking the girl back a good distance as she was close to the ledge next to Ruby.
"But why what do you get out of it?" Ruby asked.
"I am wondering as well is there a benefit in causing so much destruction" Penny asked as she herself could not understand why Roman is helping causing the destruction of so many lives here in Beacon and Vale in general.
"You're asking the wrong questions ladies it's not what I have to gain its that I can't afford to loose" Roman said.
Penny and Ruby then went after Roman but Neo flip and did a hand stance and she then did a spinning kick knocking Penny back a bit separating herself from Ruby and Roman. Roman fired a few rounds at Ruby but the sliver eyed girl managed to block the attacks with crescent rose by spinning it in front of her.
She then went and did a couple of swings at Roman but the thief was blocking the attacks an Grimm had passed by them causing the two of them to separate themselves. Seeing this was her chance Ruby used her semblance to speed blitz and go around Roman until she was behind him and she dealt multiple slashes at Roman knocking him back
At the same time Neo and Penny was fighting and Penny was having a bit of trouble with Neo the small girl is able to weave block and dodge her attacks. Penny managed to get a few hits on her but that was it. Penny realized that Neo was the type of fighter that lets her opponent comes to them and launch a counter attack.
So Penny would have to do something unpredictable if she wanted to win and she had a risky idea. As they were clashing Penny retracted her weapons back allowing Neo to get a opening as she went and took a thrust with her umbrella that has a blade in it but Penny went and grab Neo arm with the umbrella. Penny then pressed the button on Neo umbrella shocking the girl as the umbrella opened and the girl was blown straight out of the air.
"Neo!" Roman yelled as he was about to get up but Ruby stopped him as she pointed crescent rose at him.
"Its over Torchwick" Ruby said.
"Ah you really think this is over Red like it or not but the people I'm working for will change the world you can't stop them I can't stop them so what better way then join the winning team" Roman said.
"I don't care what you say we will stop them, just like we stopped you so you can bet on that!" Ruby said in anger as she kicked Roman hard knocking him out. After that a giant griffon appeared on the ship but Ruby quickly flew at the Griffon and with a couple of slashes the Griffon was cut into pieces.
Penny turned to look at Ruby and smiled at her "Thanks Penny" Ruby said to her friend.
"It is my pleasure Ruby now then we should get inside the ship I should be able to gain control of it after that we should tell Batman or hopefully the general that we gained possession of the ship" Penny said.
"Ok that sounds good" Ruby said as she and Penny grabbed Roman and went inside the ship once they did the girls saw a scroll with a red chest piece on it that was covering the scrolls.
"Oh no" Penny said.
"What's wrong" Ruby said as she went up to Penny after tieing Roman up.
"This phone its containing a virus I believe its controlling the drones and the rest of Atlas military equipment" Penny said.
"Can you disable it?" Ruby asked.
"I should be I just need to take the scroll out" Penny said as she took the scroll out and type some few things and pressed a button.
"With that the drones are under our control along with the ship" Penny said.
"Great I'll call Batman and Uncle Qrow its possible we can't contact general ironwood" Ruby said as she pulled out her two scrolls.
Back with Qrow and the others Glynda was firing purple dust related blast at the Grimm killing them and right when Qrow was about to attack the drones they stopped attacking him.
"Huh" Qrow said as he and Glynda looked and saw Ironwood who was shirtless showing his metal like body.
"This area is secured we need to" Ironwood said as he saw Qrow turn his weapon into his scythe form and was preparing to fight.
"Qrow this isn't my doing!" Ironwood said as Qrow ran and dragged his weapon Ironwood prepared to defend Ironwood saw that Qrow jumped up in the air and slashed a Griffon in half he then landed and turned to look at Ironwood.
"You idiot I know you didn't do this" Qrow said causing Ironwood to sign in relief and Glynda to place a hand on his shoulder.
"So what now general?" Qrow asked.
"Someone has done the impossible and gained control of my machines but it look like somebody released the control on them which is a good thing but that enormous grimm seems to be fixated on the school" Ironwood said.
"Glynda inform the other local huntsman and establish a safe zone here in Vale all we need to do is evaluate Beacon, Qrow I'm leaving that to you and my men I still need to get to my ship" Ironwood said.
Qrow Glynda and Ironwood looked up and saw the giant ship flying and Qrow scroll rung and he picked it up and saw that it was Ruby and he answered it.
"Kiddo?" Qrow said as he put the scroll on speaker.
"Uncle Qrow Penny and I managed to beat Torchwhick and take back the ship we're currently right above the city right now" Ruby said.
"Wait are you serious" Qrow said.
"Excellent it seems that things are turning around in our favor Penny if you can hear me I want you to land the ship towards our location once you do that me you and Ruby are going to take the ship and head towards Beacon we need to stop that giant Grimm" Ironwood said.
"Yes sir!" Penny said as the scroll hung up and the ship was heading straight towards them and Ironwood sighed a bit he hopes that Batman was doing better on his end back at Beacon.
Meanwhile back with Weiss and the others they were surprised that the giant mech just stopped all of a sudden.
"Huh that went better then expected" Sun said.
"Weiss!" Yang yelled as she ran up to Weiss who was still exhausted from using so much energy against the mech.
"You're ok have you heard from Ruby?" Yang asked Weiss who merely shook her head.
"What about Blake?" Yang asked
"She went after an Alpha and some members of the White Fang" Weiss replied.
"You look for Ruby I'll meet up with Blake and along the way try to find your mom and Whitlety" Yang said as she left as Weiss gave her a thumbs up.
Meanwhile at the underground vault the elevator door opened revealing Cinder as she walked out of the elevator and closed she opened her eyes in surprised as a Batrang was flying right at her and she quickly moved her head to the side dodging the attack and the batrang stuck on the elevator door.
Cinder narrowed her eyes and she looked and saw Batman appeared.
"You again!" Cinder growled.
"Its finally nice to meet the person responsible for all of this, I hope your prepared that this time you won't be able to get away" Batman said.
"Well what nice little speech there now step aside or else you would like to have a quick death you already almost ruined everything!" Cinder said as she growled.
"So you can take the other half of the fall maiden power sorry if you want the power you need to get pass me and I'm not letting that happen its because of your actions that a lot of people got hurt and put in danger and you don't care at all, all you want is power and you know I'm really angry at you and your master right now so once I deal with you she next" Batman said.
Cinder has had enough of Batman as he growled and created two swords while grabbed something from his tool belt and pressed a a button and a large black pole appered and he swung it around a bit as he got into a fighting stance.
"Ahhh!" Cinder yelled as s flame appeared around her right eyes as she charged at Batman and Batman dud the same as the two charged at each other as their weapons clashed as their battle began.
Meanwhile at the same time Ozpin and Phyrra has made towards the pods and Ozpin went to the controls.
"Phyrra get to the pods we need to value the time Batman has given us" Ozpin said.
Phyrra nodded as she went towards the pods as Ozpin was starting up the machine as he did the pod had opened and Phyrra had a determined look on her face.
"Jaune Batman everyone just hold on a bit longer" Phyrra said as she went and sat in the pod once it did the pod closed.
Meanwhile with Blake she was have a tough time with Adam.
"This could have been our day can't you see that!" Adam yelled.
"I never wanted this I wanted equality I wanted peace!" Blake said as she slowly started to stand up and shoot Adam with her Grambol Shroud but the red haired faunus blocked it with his sword.
."What you want is impossible!" Adam said as he put his sword up and smacked Blake on the ground
"But I understand because all I want is you Blake" Adam said as he kicked Blake down on the ground as she tried to shoot him again.
"And as I set upon this world to deliver justice mankind so greatly deserve I will make it my mission to destroy everything you love" Adam said as he knelt down next to Blake. He then looked and saw that Yang shot down a white fang member with her galuntes.
"Blake where are you?" Yang said as she was looking for Blake and Blake looked on in horror as she knew what Adam was going to do.
"Starting with her" Adam said.
Meanwhile at the same time Whitley and Willow were currently in hiding "it looks like things are clearing up this is our chance mother" Whitley said.
"A chance, a chance to do what?" Willow asked.
"To meet up with Weiss Yang and the others I'm worried about them not to mention we haven't heard anything from father" Whitley said.
"Whitley don't be absurd there might still be Grimm out there we need to stay here" Willow said.
"I know that but I just don't want to sit here and do nothing! its so frustrating Weiss Yang Ruby all of them are risking their lives and protecting everybody while I'm just sitting on the sidelines doing nothing I should be trying to help them!" Whitley yelled.
"Whitley" Willow said she had no idea her son felt so strongly about wanting to help and fight alongside the other huntsmen before it seems like coming here has really changed him.
"Mother you can stay here I'll try to see if Weiss and the others are alright" Whitley said as he tried to stand up but Willow stopped him.
"Whitley if you really feel that strongly about this then I won't stop you but your not doing this alone I'm going with you and your stopping me after all I am your mother" Willow said with a smile on her face.
"Thank you mother come on lets go" Whitley said as he and Willow got up from their hiding spot and were carefully making their way back to Beacon.
Back with Ozpin he heard two booming sounds and both of them was coming from behind them and above them.
"Are you ready?" Ozpin asked his hopefully soon next to be fall maiden.
Phyrra simply nodded.
"Yes I'm ready" Phyrra said to Ozpin with a determined look on her face.
"Thank you Miss Nikios" Ozpin said as Amber pod was risen up and soon her aura was glowling and it was slowly being transferred to Phyrra as the girl started to scream.
"I'm so sorry" Ozpin said as he saw that Phyrra was screaming he then looked at the screen and noticed that the vitals for Phyrra were increasing and the ones for Amber were decreasing as she slowly closed her eyes signaling that the previous fall maiden has left this world..
"Forgive me Amber" Ozpin thought "another mistake to add to many in my long life" Ozpin thought has the pod door exploded and Phyrra walked out of it and fell on her knees but Ozpin noticed that a fiery pattern was on her left eye signaling that Phyrra became the fall maiden.
"At least one good thing came from this terrible night" Ozpin said.
"NOOO damn you Ozpin how dare you take and give away a power that is rightfully mine!" Cinder said as she appeared.
She then looked and saw Phyrra and growled at her and right when she was about to create a bow and a arrow to shoot and kill Phyrra but she felt her hand being wrapped around something and she saw that it was a rope.
"AHHHH!" Cinder said as she yelled in pain as she was being electrocuted through the rope.
Phyrra and Ozpin looked and saw that Batman was the one who shock Cinder with a tazer grappler.
"Sorry about that she got away from me a bit...so did you do it?" Batman asked.
"Yes Phyrra is now our new fall maiden but Batman I'm worried about that rumble from above" Ozpin said.
"I agree I would check it out but there still her" Batman said as she pointed to Cinder who was slowly getting up.
"I'll handle her you take Miss Nikios and check out what is going on" Ozpin said.
Batman simply nodded and he went up to Phyrra and knelt down in front of her.
"Can you stand and move?" the dark knight of Atlas asked the now new fall maiden.
"Yes I think so" Phyrra said as she slowly got up with Batman helping her.
"Good now lets go" Batman said as he and Phyrra was leaving the underground vault leaving Ozpin and Cinder alone with each other. As they were leaving Batman had gotten a call from Alfred.
"Its me" Batman said.
"Master Bruce I would like to inform you that the Batplane and the jet should arrive to Vale in five minutes" Alfred said.
"Understood it looks like things are turning better on our end I'll call you when this mess is over" Batman said as he cut off his call with Alfred.
.It seemed that things were on their favor but Batman won't relax no not until everything was over and done with..
Meanwhile back with Blake and Adam, Adam went and stabbed Blake with his sword causing her to scream in pain and Yang to turn and look at her.
"Get away from her!" Yang yelled as Adam sheathed his sword.
"No...please" Blake said.
Yang yelled as she activated her semblance and jumped at Adam to try to pinch him but Adam simply unsheathed his sword and cleanly cut Yang arm off knocking out the blonde as she fell on the floor.
At the same time Whitley gasp "Yang" he thought.
"Whitley what's wrong?" Willow asked her son as they were making their way to Beacon.
"Its nothing mother lets keep moving" Whitley said but not before having a worried look on his face.
"Yang please be safe don't do anything stupid I'm on my way" Whitley said as he and Willow were heading to Beacon.
At the same time Adam swung his sword to wipe the blood off and he was about to finish Yang off but Blake stood on front of Yang trying to protect her.
"Why must you hurt me Blake" Adam said as he proceeded to chop Blake head off but Blake whole body disappeared as he realized it was a clone.
He looked and saw Blake was running away carrying Yang out of the area they were in and Adam started to walk away while slashing and killing a creeper in one blow.
"Damn you Ozpin and damn that Batman that power was supposed to be mine and you two arrogantly took that away from me she was right about you such arrogance" Cinder said as a fiery aura appeared around her.
"You and your master has a lot nerve for calling me arrogant though I will admit if it wasn't for Batman things may gone your way and you might have had the fall maiden power but I guess we may never know" Ozpin said with a smirk.
"Ozpin!" Cinder yelled as she shot forward right at Ozpin as the battle between Cinder and Ozpin has begun.
A/N: Its amazing how one simple thing can change the events of the story we are with the second part of the battle at beacon Penny and Ruby had managed to beat Roman and Neo and gain control of the ship and altered Ironwood and the others all that is left is taking down that Grimm Dragon. At the same time Phyrra has became the new fall maiden and her and Batman are heading out towards the front lines will they be able to make it in time and what will happen with Yang and her arm being cut you will have your answers in the volume three finale and the next chapter of my father.
