Chapter 32: The Clown and the Scorpion
Blake sighed a bit as she was leaning towards the rail on the boat she was on looking out at the sea. After an eventful day where she found out that Sun was following her and he along with with the captain and the crew took down that sea Grimm. The young cat faunus was really using this time to think about some things, like what is she going to say to her parents when she sees them again. Blake really wasn't on the best terms with her parents especially since she called them out with not doing enough while they were in charge of the White Fang and how she ran away to join the White Fang and their cause.
But Blake she was so blind and stubborn she had failed to see what the White Fang had truly become and her father tried to warn her. But she didn't listen and refused to believe that the White Fang was basically a terrorist organization and were willing to harm and kill people to achieve their goals. Blake has made a lot of mistakes in her life in order to at least move on from her past and start over, the first thing she needs to do is to apologize to her parents and make amends with them.
Blake felt her scroll ringing and she took out of her pocket and she had a bit of a confuse look on her face. She didn't know who this was since it said unknown call it could be a scam or something so the logical choice would be to ignore the call. But the call could be important somehow so she can't really completely ignore it so with that quick decision Blake pressed the button and answered her scroll.
"It's been awhile, Blake" Blake widen her eyes in surprised she knew who the person on the other line was.
"Batman, how did you get my number?" Blake asked the dark crusader of Atlas.
"I have my ways" Batman simply said.
Blake didn't know weather she should she impressed with Batman or e a bit creeped out that he managed to find her number and contact her. Blake really hope nothing else was going to happen, she had enough surprises for one night.
"What do you want, Batman?" Blake asked.
"I'm calling you to warn you so to speak, your heading to Menagerie I take it" Batman said.
Blake had to stop herself from asking Batman on how did he knew she was going to Menagerie but she realized that he must have dug up a lot of information about her and most likely her parents as well.
"I am but I won't arrive until tomorrow a little bit before noon, why?" Blake asked.
"I'm sure your aware that the White Fang was involved in the attack at Beacon, so far they have been quite but its only a matter time before they move" Batman said.
"Your thinking that the White Fang are going to strike soon?" Blake asked.
"Yes and since their main headquarters are in Menagerie they might prepare and gather their forces in order to help with the next attack. Not only that Blake but you and your parents could be in danger you need to be on guard and if possible try to delay the White Fang in planning their next move" Batman said.
"You don't really think they would try to kill my parents?" Blake asked she knew that her father and Sienna Khan were old friends, even though they had different view points and their relationship was strained Blake just can't see her ordering kill order on her parents.
"Your father is one of the founders of the White Fang and is the chief of Menagerie, he could use his influence to gather some people to stop the White Fang and maybe influence them onto his side. He mainly is a threat to their operations if they kill him the White Fang can act freely and they can take over Menagerie and nobody will be able to stop him" Batman said.
You...you have to good points" Blake said the last thing she wanted to do was deal with the White Fang but it looks like she won't have a choice in the matter.
"I'll be on my guard and I'll warn my parents that they could be targets" Blake said.
"Good, I'll text you my number in case if you want to contact me and give me any info you have on the White Fangs movements, be careful Blake" Batman said.
"I will and Batman...thanks for the heads up" Blake had always respected Batman but her respect for him had went up above and beyond.
"Don't mention it, we'll keep in touch" Batman said as he hung up the phone leaving Blake to her thoughts.
At the same time Bruce was in his office has he hung up his secret scroll he uses while he was Batman pleased that he had accomplished one objective and that was to warn Blake about the White Fang. The next thing he needed to do was he needed to contact James and speak to him well both as Bruce Wayne and Batman. He also needs to contact Ozpin as well to see if their meeting with Raven went well.
"But...I guess that can wait until tomorrow perhaps I can get a bit of a good night sleep after a long day...also don't want Willow or Alfred to nag me about staying up all night again" Bruce said as he chuckled and he stood up and left his office heading straight towards his room.
We go to Qrow and Ozpin as of right now the duo was at a small town, the same town that Ruby and her group was at since they were at the town the group had decided to stay at a hotel for the night before they continued on their way to Mistral. However Qrow and Ozpin were currently at a bar right now and the two of them were on the second floor sitting at a table waiting for their guest to arrive.
Qrow was drinking another glass of cold hard Vodka.
"You know Qrow I really wish you wouldn't drink so much" Ozpin said to his former student and agent.
"Oh come on Oz, I only had a couple of glasses" Qrow said.
"Qrow you taken eight shots of Vodka honestly how have you not had kidney failure already" Ozpin said as he rubbed his forehead.
"I guess I'm just lucky somehow but hey I rather the booze kill me then Salem" Qrow said as he was finishing his drink.
"There are other hobbies besides drinking Qrow" Ozpin said.
"I know but this more fun, but seriously Oz you need to relax you don't need to worry about me alright" Qrow said causing Ozpin to sight a bit. He knows that getting Qrow to stop drinking was not going to be easy task since it was his way of handling all of the misfortune that has happened to him in his life but Ozpin was not one to give up that easily. But in order to avoid an argument Ozpin decided to drop the subject especially since Raven was suppose to be here at any moment.
Ozpin then looked and saw a red portal appeared behind Qrow and he saw a woman who was wearing a Grimm mask.
"speak of the devil" Ozpin thought.
The woman then took off her mask, and what the woman had long black hair and eyes but if you look at the woman facial features she looks similar to Yang. This was Raven Brawnen the twin sister of Qrow, a former member of team STRQ, ex-wife of Taiyang and mother of Yang. Raven carefully placed her mask on the table and she sat beside Ozpin and Qrow.
"Raven it seems like your doing well" Ozpin said to his former student.
Raven merely rolled her eyes "spare me the pleasantries old man, you called me here so lets just get to the point" Raven said.
"Geez sis your so serious don't you want to know how I been or you know your daughter" Qrow said.
"That's" Raven started to say but Qrow interrupted her.
"Rhetorical question I know, you know how she doing I would like to least thought you would care about her a little bit, but I guess I was expecting too much out of you" Qrow said while Raven just glared at her brother.
"Let's get back to the matter in hand here" Ozpin said not wanting the twins to argue with each other, he then looked at Raven.
"I know your here to question me old but I want to know did Salem managed to get the relic of choice?" Raven asked Ozpin.
"No luckily I have made the relic of choice harder to find then the others, but don't ask where it is now then Raven where is the spring maiden?" Ozpin said.
"Now why should I have to explain myself to you?" Raven asked.
"Because we need the spring maiden to open the relic of knowledge and if you do have her Salem will target you, don't you see we need to work together in order to defeat her" Ozpin said.
"To be apart of this pointless war Qrow and I have seen first hand how powerful Salem is, there no one that can stop her" Raven said.
"So you would rather run away then like a coward" Ozpin said causing Raven to stand up.
"No I would rather live and survive, we're done here" Raven said as she put on her mask and took out her sword and swung it creating a portal causing Ozpin to sigh a bit.
"Look like we wasted our time but I guess we'll see you around Raven most likely as enemies" Qrow said.
Raven didn't say anything as she merely went inside the portal and once she did the portal disappeared leaving Qrow and Ozpin alone to their thoughts.
"Well that was a waste of time so Oz you think she has the spring maiden?" Qrow asked the ancient warrior.
"I know she does but we can't afford to go after Raven just yet, we need to keep an eye and follow Miss. Rose and her group to Mistral, and we can meet up with Leo once we get there" Ozpin said.
"Yeah I guess your right, now Oz after all of that tell me you don't want another drink to calm your nerves" Qrow said as Ozpin sighed he really didn't want to go back to drinking since he was pretty much a drunk in one of his pass lives since he was depressed because at times he sees the battle against Salem hopeless at times. But even so he wouldn't give up that easily plus with Batman on their side maybe the war will turn in their favor.
Ozpin sighed "fine I'll take a drink or two but after this were going to book a hotel and get some sleep we have another huge day ahead of us" the former headmaster of Beacon said.
"Yeah alright waiter a few more drinks here!" Qrow yelled causing Ozpin to rub his head in frustration
We go to the next day, it was morning in Atlas we see James Ironwood walking towards his office and once he got inside he sighed as he noticed he got a somewhat unexpected visitor.
"You know I would hope you had learned how to knock over the years we know each other, but I guess I was hoping a little bit too much" Ironwood said as he was looking at Batman.
Batman ignored Ironwood statement "I came by because I wanted to talk to about a few things" Batman said as Ironwood walked and he sat behind his desk.
"I know, you probably want to talk about how I had Atlas stopped exploiting dust to other kingdoms" Ironwood said.
"I believe that's not a good decision Ironwood your leaving the other kingdoms to fend for themselves" Batman said.
"I understand that but right now we need to be concern with the possibility that Salem could target Atlas, not to mention she could have her forces at the other kingdoms as well we can't let them get their hands on the dust we shipped out to the kingdoms don't worry it's only temporary" Ironwood said.
"Just remember that Atlas can't only be our main concern, I take it you been in talks with Ozpin" Batman said to the general.
"I talked with them a few days ago they are following Ms. Rose's team to Mistral, it seems like Mistral could be Salem next target" Ironwood said.
"Are you thinking about sending reinforcements?" Batman said as Ironwood sighed and rubbed his head.
"I don't know yet, I want to help Mistral but I don't want to have a situation similar to Beacon and there is a chance that Salem could attack Atlas so I might need all of my forces here" Ironwood said.
"You're concern but remember you can't let your fear and doubts make you over think things" Batman said.
Ironwood sighed "I know so are you still going to patrol Atlas and Mantle like always?" he asked.
"Of course but luckily I have some help in any case Ironwood, I suggest you take my advice" Batman said.
Ironwood closed his eyes "I'll take it under consideration but-" but Ironwood opened his eyes he saw that Batman was already gone and his door to his office just closed.
Ironwood sighed "I swear he really needs to stop that disappearing act of his" Ironwood said.
Meanwhile we go to Ruby's group, the silver eyed girl along with Ren, Nora and Jaune was in Oniyuri and was walking through the abandoned village until Ren held his hand up telling them to stop. Ren could sense something was coming and he was right because as of right now Tyrian and Joker was running at a fast pace. Ren was nervous seeing they could be facing an enemy but it wasn't long until Joker and Tyrian jumped from a building and the Joker threw five cards on the ground. It was then the team heard beeping sounds and Ruby widen her eyes.
"Everyone get back!" Ruby yelled as everyone jumped back but they were still hit by a couple of small explosions, causing the group to go to the ground. Ruby got up and she widen her eyes as she saw the Joker attacking her with a cane that has a blade attached to the bottom. The Joker had made a couple of fast pace stabs at Ruby but the girl had managed to block and dodged them side to side. Ruby then twisted to the side and swung crescent rose but the Joker dodge the attack but Ruby countered the attack by swinging the scythe upward but the Joker jumped back.
"My, my your not to bad hahaha this might be more fun then I thought" Joker said as he laughed in delight he then heard a yell and he looked and saw Nora coming at him from above and he jumped to the side and Nora slammed her hammer into the ground at where the Joker was suppose to be at.
"My how rude it isn't nice to interrupt people on their fun you know" Joker said as he wagged his finger at Nora he then look and saw Tyrian kicked Ren backed while dodging a sword slash from Jaune while flipping through the air and he landed right next to his partner.
"We're not looking for a fight!" Jaune yelled at Tyrian and the Joker.
"Who are you two?" Ren asked.
"Who we are hahaha a funny question, I could be anybody in this world, I could have been a huntsman or I could be a average joe that's the beauty of chaos I can be whoever I want or do whatever I want" the Joker said as he smirked at Ruby's group.
"Who we are, matters not to you or you...well you do interest me" Tyrain said as he had no interest in Ren and Nora but he was interested in Nora.
"Hmm blondie seems interesting to play with but right now all we are interested is you little miss rose" Joker said as he pointed at Ruby.
"Me?" Ruby said as she was confused why Tyrian and Joker was after her.
"Hehahahahah!" both Joker and Tyrian laughed.
"Why Tyrian it seems like our budding rose has no idea what's going on, so cute no naïve, I can't wait to break you" Joker said in grimm and dark like tone.
"Now,now my friend we can't hurt her too much" Tyrian said.
"What do you two want?" Ruby asked.
Tyrain and the Joker gasp in mock surprised "the rose has thorns, my little flower we are here to whisk you away from here" Tyrian said.
"Well what if she doesn't want to go with you two, especially with a creepy clown?" Nora said.
"Oh you wound me thunder thighs but as I mother always said before she croaked sticks and stones hehahaha! and to answer your question we'll just take her" Joker said.
"We're not going to let you do that" Juane said.
"Did you hear that my scorpion friend, seems like they are willing to protect baby Rose" Joker said as he licked his lips.
Tyrain just smirked "good" he simply said as with intense speed Tyrian appeared behind Jaune and was about to attack him.
"Jaune!" Ren said but before he was about to attack Tyrian with his guns the Joker threw some cards at Ren knocking his weapons away.
"Ah, ah, ah no need to ruin the show" Joker said as his speed he appeared in front of Ren and did a couple slashes to him with his cane and then kicked him away. While Jaune managed to block Tyrian slash attack with his shield but that caused Jaune to be off balanced but Tyrian took advantaged and ran up to Jaune and kicked him knocking him back.
Ruby with her speed went up to the Joker and she tried to attack him with multiple swipes and slashes but the Joker merely blocked the attacks with his cane. Joker with his fast reflexes managed to stabbed Ruby in causing her great pain and breaking her aura. The Joker then grabbed Ruby's hand and forcing her to press a button and shocking her.
"AHHHHH!" Ruby yelled.
"I hope you like my surprise it's quite shocking isn't it hahaha!" Joker said as he laughed and kicked Ruby away.
Nora then ran up to the Joker to try to attack him with her hammer with a swing but the Joker flipped backwards in the air and he grabbed Nora shoulder and tried to shock her but he was surprised to see she wasn't effected in fact the Joker was actually giving Nora a boost of strength. The Joker then jumped back and looked at Nora while the others smiled and Nora looked up and gave Joker a smirk.
"Well shit, this isn't good" Joker said as Nora jumped in the air and was ready to swing her hammer and crush the Joker but Tyrian at the last minute went in front of the Joker blocking the attack causing a huge shockwave to go through the area
"Hehehe surprise" Tyrian said as he and the Joker jump and flipped in the air until they landed on a roof top in the house and Tyrian lost his jacket in the process.
"He's a faunus?" Ren said as he managed to get his guns back.
"What is this about the white fang, Roman Torchwhick?" Ruby asked wondering why the Joker and Tyrian were attacking her and her friends and why they were after her.
The Joker laughed "Now I should I be concerned with groups that were part of the first act hehaha! no little rose we are now the stars of the main act" the joker said.
"My heart only belongs to my goddess" Tyrian said.
"Cinder" Ruby said as she narrowed her eyes, she found out about how Cinder was behind everything that happened at Beacon and has a grudge against her if it wasn't for Batman, Beacon could have falled completely.
"Ha now that's a good one although we did promise Cindy that we had her back hehaha" Joker said.
"Only in her dreams I would think of her as a goddess" Tyrian said as he and the Joker quickly jumped down until they were between Ruby and the others.
Tyrian wasted little time and attacked Ruby with his tail knocking bringing it down, Ruby then dodged another kick and she then swung at Tyrian who ducked from the slash and punched Ruby knocking her back. The Joker quickly got in front of Ren and quickly tried to stabbed multiple times but Ren managed to dodged them. At the same time Qrow who was in his bird form and Ozpin were quickly running to their Ruby and her group. But at the same time Joker and Tyrian were in perfect synch as they were kicking and knocking the group one by one.
They both went to attack Ruby and Ruby couldn't defended herself as they both continued to slash her with their weapons. The Joker cut Ruby in the stomach drawing blood he then kicked Ruby far away in the air and Tyrian wasted little time and ran to the other side and kicked Ruby back to the Joker and he slashed her again drawing more blood and causing Ruby to fall to the ground.
Ruby was holding her stomach trying her best to stop the bleeding a bit and she looked up and turned her head to look at the Joker and Tyrian.
The psychotic clown licked Ruby blood from his knife cane and Tyrian merely laughed. Ruby was terrified as she realized that these guys were going to capture her and she and her friends couldn't do anything about it. Tyrian then launch an attack at Ruby and that's when Qrow came to protect Ruby blocking the attack at the same time Joker barely dodged an incoming attack from Ozpin and the ancient warrior knocked Joker back and he poked him multiple times with his cane and kicked him back.
Ruby was shocked as she looked around and saw Qrow and Ozpin and she smiled as she was happy to see them.
"Hey" Qrow said to his niece.
Meanwhile at the same time in a farm a young tan skinned boy was reading a book and he thought he was going crazy their was a voice in his head telling him that he needs to leave and that they need to head to Mistral. So far the boy had ignored the voice but as of right now he hasn't heard much from the voice recently.
"Did something happen" the boy said as he sighed a bit wondering what happened to the voice.
"What should I do" he said thinking about his next course of action.
A/N: You guys thought Tyrian was an handful, but with him and the Joker teaming up these guys are a deadly duo good thing Qrow and Ozpin are here to help out Ruby's group am I. Poor Ruby the girl is going to have nightmares because trust me this isn't the last time she seeing the Joker that's for sure. Anyway if your wondering about Oscar and how Ozpin is able to contact him even if their souls aren't merged well that will be explained soon but lets just say the farm boy and the ancient warrior will be fighting separately in the story and Ozpin is preparing for the worst case scenario.
