"Hmm I'm so proud of him,my boy has grown so much" A woman said looking at Bell.
"Yeah he's growing up to be a fine young man it's a shame we're not there for him" a man replied.
"Yes it is but he has his friends to keep him company and he doesn't even know who we are it's probably better this way" the woman said.
"Well he is the last hero so I am afraid this is only the beginning of his hardships" the man said.
"Well it is nice that Loki is giving him some weapons to better help defend himself with" the woman said.
"Even though she kicked us out I think she knows we're Bells parents and she trying to atone for what she did" the man said.
"Well let's go find Zeus he'll be fine without us watching him for a little bit" the woman said.
"What about Hera have you forgiven her yet" the man asked.
"No she tried to abandon our son when I asked her to take care of him and besides why do you even care so much anyway" the woman asked.
"Cause the two of you used to be so close I just didn't know if you patched things up" the man replied.
With that the conversation between Bells parents ended and Bell woke up.
"Hmm what an odd dream" Bell thought as he looked out the window.
"Eh daylights burning time for my first trip to the dungeon" he said to himself.
Bell then got dressed in a black shirt and pants. Then fitted his armor over the clothes. He then stepped in front of a mirror to look at himself.
"Looking good if I do say so" Bell thought.
Bell then opened his door and walked out in to the hallway and headed downstairs. When he got there he saw his familia eating breakfast.
"Morning everyone" Bell said.
"Looking snazzy today Bell trying to impress that Amazon friend you have" Genya joked.
"Rengoku how mad would you be if we left Genya in the dungeon" Bell asked.
"Very now sit down and have breakfast while we go over our formation" Rengoku said.
Bell then sat down and ordered some breakfast while Rengoku talked about the party's formation. Rengoku would be in the front acting as the vanguard with Zenitsu and Inosuke. Bell would be in the middle providing support for the front and back line since he had better range with his blades of chaos. Then in the rearguard would be Genya with his sawed off shotgun making sure nothing sneaks up behind them. The group then finished their breakfast and headed to the dungeon.
"So Rengoku what's the goal for today" Bell asked.
"Well since you and Inosuke are here we're gonna try and aim for floor 11 this time don't wanna push us to hard to where we'll get killed" Rengoku answered.
"Don't most new adventures stay a little higher up though" Bell asked.
"Bell we're not exactly the definition of normal adventurers and besides me and you have trained our reflexes to be on par with upper moons I think we'll be fine" Genya said.
"Stop saying stuff that's smart Genya people will think you have a higher intelligence then you actually do" Zenitsu quipped.
Genya said nothing and flicked Zenitsu off while the rest of the group laughed. The rest of the group then finished their breakfast and started making there way to the dungeon. As they were heading there however Bell heard someone call out to him. Bell turned around and saw that it was Tiona with her familia.
"Oh morning Tiona getting ready to head into the dungeon" Bell asked trying his best to make small talk.
"Mm hmm me and my familia got a quest from the guild to head to floor 18 so we're heading there now. What floor are you heading to" Tiona asked.
"Probably the third floor" Lefyia muttered.
"Well Rengoku wants us to push ourselves to the 11th floor today" Bell said.
Tiona's eyes widened at what Bell had just said along with the rest of her familia.
"What is that not normal" Bell asked.
"Bell buddy you just got your falna you shouldn't go down that far you barely survived that silverback the other day" Tiona said.
"Hmm oh well that won't happen again I got Rengoku with me this time so I'll be fine" Bell said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Bell I'm being serious if you go down that far you'll die" Tiona said.
"Really cause the silverback isn't really that fast it's just strong and well you saw how it just pulled me towards it so I'll be fine I also have armor this time see" Bell said as he pointed to his chest plate.
"Bell please don't go that deep I'm begging you" Tiona said as she put her hands on his shoulders.
"Look lady Bell can take care of himself and even if he gets into trouble we'll be there to help. Look how about this is Bell survives he'll swing by the manor once you get back sound good" Genya said.
Tiona remained still keeping her hands on Bells shoulders before she let out a sigh and nodding her head.
"Fine but if you die I'll resurrect you and kill you again deal" Tiona said.
"Deal" Bell replied.
With that confirmation Tiona reluctantly let go of Bell.
"Be careful" Tiona said.
"Don't worry if shit goes wrong I just gotta be faster then Genya" Bell joked.
"Hey" Genya said.
Tiona then watched as the group went down still with a worried look on her face. The group cleared the first five floors easily Rengoku's formation working like a charm. When they got to the sixth floor they had to try a little harder but still came out unscathed. It was the same for the other floors leading up to ten because there was more and more monster spawns they had to deal with. When the finally got to the entrance of the 11th floor they decided to take a break.
"You know this is going a lot better than I expected" Bell said as he took a bite out of his sandwich.
"Yeah I mean get rid of the mist and it be like just the other floors although I'm worried about the 11th apparently the mist is thicker there" Genya said.
"Eh will be fine as long as we stick together but I think after we clear this floor we should head back. That okay with you Rengoku" Bell asked.
"Yeah somethings telling me we should just stick to floors 1-11 from now on at least until one of us level" Rengoku replied not taking his eyes off the entrance.
"What's wrong Rengoku" Zenitsu asked.
"I don't know yet but it's like my instincts are screaming at me that we shouldn't go lower than I've already planned" Rengoku answered.
"You sure you want us to go down one more floor" Inosuke asked.
"Yeah we should be fine but no further until one of us levels better safe than sorry" Rengoku added.
"Well if you guys are ready let's get going" Genya said.
The group finished their lunch and headed down to the 11th. The second they stepped down there they knew that this floor was on a whole other level compared to the ones they did before and right when they exited they heard stomping. They turned to the direction of the stomping and from the mist came a pack of ogres.
"Oh look Zenitsu it's your girlfriend and her family" Inosuke joked.
"Fuck off" Zenitsu replied readying his sword.
Just then they heard more stomping footsteps behind them. Genya turned around and saw another pack of ogres behind them. Rengoku then heard chattering above and as he looked up he saw over 100 imps.
"Well then we're fucked" Zenitsu said.
"Remember your training. Inosuke go to the back and help Genya. Zenitsu me and you will take out the ones in the front,Bell focus on the imps since you're the only one of us that can reach that high" Rengoku ordered.
The boys agreed and a fight broke out. Inosuke was charging the orcs that were farther away from Genya giving the boy a chance to take out two of them with his sawed off shotgun. After Genya killed the two Inosuke saw his chance and pivoted off a rock and decapitated another orc that was moving toward Genya. Inosuke then landed on the ground but sensed something swinging at him from his left. He quickly brought up his blades in a defensive stance at just the right time before a landform club smashed into it. Inosuke went flying back because of the force and rolled into the hit as to not injure himself further.
Genya who had finally reloaded his sawed off immediately blew the orcs head while asking Inosuke if he was ok. Inosuke confirmed he was fine and killed the last orc that was behind the group.
With Rengoku and Zenitsu they were having an easier time with the orcs as they didn't have to cover each other like Genya and Inosuke so they made quick work of the orcs. With all the orcs dead the group decided to focus on the imps. That was the plan but the dungeon is a cruel mistress after all so with the orcs dead it just sent more of them.
"Rengoku how many orcs we got now" Zenitsu asked a little panicked.
"About 20 more you and I will take care of them while Bell and the rest take care of the imps" Rengoku said.
Just then one of the blades of chaos went flying past Zenitsus head scaring the shit out of him. But when he saw an imp impaled on it he was thankful for Bell saving his life.
Over with Bell this whole time he's been fighting for his life against the imps. He thanks god that he trained his reflexes like he did or else he would've gotten overrun by the imps by now. But that's not to say he wasn't still struggling he was on his toes the entire fight with the imps just barely dodging their sharp tails while killing another one. He was glad when Inosuke and Genya had killed their orcs and came to help him. So he kept swinging and swinging his blades of chaos cause all types of imp limbs to fly across the dungeon. Just when he thought it couldn't get any worse he heard Rengoku shout that more orcs were coming.
"Well fuck maybe we should've listened to Tiona and not gone down this far" Bell thought as he threw one of his blades into the skull of an imp killing it instantly.
As Bell was fighting however he heard a whistling sound come from his left. Think quickly he flicked his wrist allowing the shield to come out and quickly turned around. He did so right at the last second as a stone spear impacted right on the shield.
"Rengoku we gotta go we bit off more than we can chew" Bell yelled at him blocking another attack from an imp.
"Alright everyone pull back get to the 10th floor" Rengoku said as he slashed the head of an orc and began running towards the exit.
The group finished up their last monster and successfully retreated back to the 10th floor.
"Well that was fun" Bell said as he took a seat on a rock to rest.
"I am sorry my friends based on my judgement I almost got all of us killed" Rengoku apologized as he bowed.
"It's fine Rengoku it just means Bells girlfriends is right" Genya joked.
"Genya if I wasn't so tired I'd slap the shit out of you right now" Bell replied.
"Let's take a breather and then head back up ok I think we got enough stones" Zenitsu said panting trying to catch his breath.
The group sat there for about 10 minutes before making the journey back up. After about 2 hours they finally made it to the surface and saw that it was the evening.
"We we're in there longer than I thought" Bell said.
"Yeah it's easy to lose time in there since there's no sun" Inosuke said.
"Well let's cash our stones and head back to the inn" Rengoku said.
The rest agreed with him and when they showed up to the guild Bell got berated by Eina while the others just laughed and watched.
"Bell what we're you thinking going to floor 11 you just registered yesterday for gods sake" Eina yelled.
"Well I wanted a challenge the first floors were to easy for my group" Bell replied as he shrugged his shoulders not seeing what the big deal is.
"Bell adventures don't go looking for adventure you got lucky today" Eina said.
"Eina that makes no sense whatsoever, but I will admit I pushed it today I already had someone else tell me that going that far down for my first time was dangerous" Bell said.
"Bell what am I gonna do with you" Eina asked as he pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Probably get mad at me more for being stupid" Bell replied with a smile.
Eina just shook her head and waved Bell away.
"How does he do it it's not fair" Zenitsu cried.
The group after getting a nice sum of money from the dungeon today headed to the ruined church where their goddess lived. They entered the church and went downstairs and saw Hestia sitting on a couch eating potato puffs.
"Oh I wasn't expecting you five today or else I would've gotten more potato puff" Hestia said wiping her chin.
"It's alright goddess we're just here to get our status updated and get you out of this shithole" Genya said.
"Huh what do you mean get me out of this" Hestia asked with an eyebrow raised.
"We earned quite a lot in the dungeon today so you can either stay in a apartment or we could buy a house" Rengoku stated dropping the bag of valis on the table.
"H-how much is this" Hestia asked.
"About 4 million valis, we would've gotten more but we had to run like hell to escape the 11th floor" Rengoku said.
"THE 11th FLOOR WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING YOU KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT IS" Hestia screamed.
"Yes goddess we've had this talk with other people like two times already and we also made a promise to ourselves to get you out of this dump as the first order of business in this familia" Bell said.
"Yup that's enough saved up for a medium sized house that can fit all of us comfortably" Rengoku added.
"I have the best kids ever" Hestia said as she started to cry tears of happiness.
The boys didn't know what to do but Rengoku went to go and comfort her. After she finished crying she started updating thier status when she got to Bell however she froze.
"Uh Bell what did you do in the dungeon" Hestia asked.
"I was mainly support helping where I was needed and I pushed myself so that no matter what I could help people" Bell answered.
"So your goal is to help people huh" Hestia asked with a smug smile.
"You're about to make fun of me aren't you" Bell asked.
"Not right now but the reason I asked is because your agility and endurance is already A while the rest of your stats or B" Hestia said.
"What how"Bell said as he got up and quickly put his shirt back on.
"It's your skill spartan rage it's a thing I hoped to never see again" Hestia said sadly.
"So what does my skill do goddess" Bell asked nervously shifting in his seat.
"What I'm about to say doesn't leave this room understand me" Hestia told her children.
The group nodded and sat down getting ready for what Hestia was about to say.
"A long time ago before any of you were even born a man named Kratos waged war against Olympus. His father Zeus had done cruelty to him. But no matter how many times he died he always came back stronger than ever. Now you maybe asking what how does this have to do with Bells skill. Kratos was trained at a young age to be a spartan one of the top armies in the Ancient world. When he was on the verge of defeat he asked Ares for help and became his agent.Pretty much after that Ares betrayed him and he killed him. He then after many betrayals killed every god on Olympus" Hestia said as he finished her story.
"So you're telling me I have a skill that makes me stronger each time I'm closer to death" Bell asked his eyes wide with shock.
"Yes that's correct Bell and if my theory is right you are related to Kratos in some way" Hestia said.
"We'll that's a lot to take in"Bell said.
"I'm sorry but that's not all Bell those blades attached to your wrists those were Kratos" Hestia said.
"Huh well that's a lot to take in I'm gonna go get some air" Bell said as he stood up he had a thousand yard stare in his eyes as he walked out.
"Should we go after him" Genya asked.
"No give him sometime he'll come back when he's ready" Rengoku responded.
"I'm sorry about that I didn't mean to make him sad" Hestia said.
"Don't worry about it goddess for as long as I've known Bell he's always wanted just a little bit of info on his past,he may seem sad now but he's just grateful to learn something" Genya responded.
"Well let's go look for a house tomorrow getting tired of having to sleep in the inn that dwarfess is charging way to much" Zenitsu said.
