Hello

Time for a new story. This is a Four Knights of the Apocalypse story, the manga is a sequel to Seven Deadly Sins, so this story is obviously a sequel to my SDS story The Hunting Dog and it's slice of life spinoff Fluffy Tales. You'd need to read to understand 100% of what's going on and why certain characters are alive or allied with certain others, but I'm sure you'd be able to enjoy it without it. IF you wish to read the prior parts of this trilogy you can find them on my profile.

Anyway, enjoy.

NO POV

A crescent moon rose above the clouds in a peaceful forest where the sounds of night creatures milling about was soon interrupted by frantic shouting and hurried footsteps.

"Ha…ha…ha…" a cloaked figured rushed through the forest, shoes snapping twigs underneath.

"Don't let her get away!"

"Catch her before she escapes!"

"She's too fast."

The girl stomped her foot and flashed forward like a dark into the darkness leaving a cloud of dust behind.

"She vanished? How she was just hear a second ago?"

"That little brat will pay, spread out and find her."

The men in armor fanned out into the forest searching for tracks of the cloaked girl. Deeper in the darkest parts of the forest a pair of yellow feline eyes stared through the shadows.

"I think I lost them, stupid old men." She climbed up a tree.

Lowering her hood for a moment the girls brushed her bangs out of her eyes. She was tall, with a very slender build and long leg. Her hair was short and black, cut into a silky bob, the most curious thing about her was aside from her feline eyes she had two black cat ears on the top of her head and a long feline tail coming out of her spine. Currently she had a cloak on but under it was a tight black leather catsuit.

The girl jumped to the next tree and kept on moving to ensure her pursuers would not catch up. Eventually she came to a cave that seemed like it would be quiet enough to lay low in till sunrise, traveling with the cover of night would be easier, but the forest was packed with knights and soldiers right now and hopefully they'd give up by the morning.

Loud boisterous music filled the ballroom alongside laughter and bright lights, it was a wonderous place filled with joy.

"I hate wearing dresses." The girl pouted fidgeting with her top.

"Yes, yes, don't fight with it so much and it might be more comfortable." Guila sighed.

"Just relax and have a little fun." Cavall, her father, sighed.

"I mean I'm gonna have fun." She laughed.

Around the party the girl saw all sorts of knights and nobles mingling, dancing and having a good time.

"I'm trying to think of a good song to play next." Solaseed hummed fiddling with her lyre.

"I don't care what you play if the drinks keep coming." Melascula laughed laying on a barrel and refilling her wineglass.

"Don't drink too much aunty you'll make yourself sick again." The girl joked.

"Oh, shut it you little brat, shouldn't you be training or something?" The demon hissed.

"Everyone is allowed some fun once in a while." Derieri said rubbing the girl's hair.

"Hi Grandma." She hugged her.

"Now it's a mess." Monspeet quickly fixed the girl's bun.

"Grandpa stop." She pouted.

"I see we're all lively as ever." Merlin teleported in.

"Hmm." Nanashi simply observed the room quietly.

"Such an elegant dress." Vivian appeared behind the girl "My you're growing faster than I realized girl."

"You could say that…is the rest of me gonna get the message?" the girl looked down.

"I told you that growth charm would help in your training I never said anything about your physical developments." The mage shrugged.

"Granny teach your disciple a lesson for bullying me." The girl pouted.

"For once I don't think Vivian has done anything wrong." Merlin said.

"What's that supposed to mean Master!"

"Mistress don't be like that." Cavall said.

"I see everyone is having a good time."

The girl turned and smiled, a handsome older boy with messy orange hair approached her.

"King Arthur." She bowed politely as did the others with her.

"I've got it!" Solaseed snapped her fingers "A new song!"

She took out her lyre and began plucking at the strings, slowly picking up her pace until she had a waltz worthy tune.

"Would you care to dance." Arthur asked the girl.

"N-No I can't." she sputtered as her ears twitched "Your Majesty should be dancing with noble ladies not me."

"What's not noble about you." Arthur led her out to the dancefloor and held her hand and waist.

The girl was red in the face as the older boy led her in a dance, he was easily twice her age but for a girl like her it was hard not to be awkward around her king.

"Something bothering you?" Arthur asked the girl.

"Your Majes-Arthur." She sighed and looked back at the other "Are you happy?"

"Why would I not be?" The King asked spinning her around.

"It just seems that lately the other knights have mentioned you seem depressed, is this about the fact you can't find a bride?"

"Why do you ask about that, are you offering to take the position Rear?" he smiled.

"No gross." She laughed "You're like my older brother."

Rear smiled at Arthur.

"I don't care what happens." The catgirl said "I'll always fight for you and the others, I love you."

"Hmm." Rear opened her eyes as light began streaming into the cave she was hiding in "I must have fallen asleep."

She rubbed her eyes a bit "I want more times like that, where we all had fun and smiled, before…"

Rear walked to the front of the cave and let her eyes adjust to the sunlight.

She nodded towards the horizon "Solaseed once said the Knights of the Apocalypse would be the only ones that could stop King Arthur, so I'll have to find them then. Liones seems to be the place to start."

"Don't worry everyone, I'll save you, I'll save Camelot…Our dream will come true."

Rear, Daughter of Guila and Cavall, Granddaughter of Derieri and Monspeet, adopted granddaughter of the mage Merlin and the 10th Knight of the Inner Round Table set off on her journey to save her king and country.

Elsewhere…

"Apologies your highness, somehow Rear has escaped." The Knight bowed "We'll double the patrols immediately and find her right away."

"Don't waste your time." Arthur sighed leaning on his hand as he sat in his throne "None of you have any hope of catching that girl."

"She's one teenager surely she can't avoid a platoon of knights."

Arthur laughed "Your pride is getting the better of you. Rear is no mere girl; she could wipe the floor with you all without breaking a sweat. Treating her like some simple teenager is how she was able to escape capture in the first place, besides we don't need to chase her down."

Arthur smirked slightly "She'll be back in no time, after all this is her home."

Merlin looked over but said nothing.

Arthur smiled and looked out the window "Rear hasn't gotten away; she's exactly where I want her to be."

Thank you for reading. Feedback is appreciated. Feel free to message me any questions or concerns.

Suggest what you'd like to see in the future.

So, this was mostly a prologue style chapter set shortly before the 4KotA manga starts. Since the manga is still relatively newish don't expect super frequent updates since I'll need to keep a buffer in order to allow for plot developments in the manga. Also, since 4KotA doesn't have its own filter yet I'll just be posting this under SDS for now.

Also for a reference on Rear's appearance, sans closed eyes, just google "Halloween Guila" and you'll see it.

Till Next Time!
