Rengoku POV one hour from the castle
"Hey, Rengoku you think I can pop a wheelie on this horse," Bell asked.
"Bell you can't pop a wheelie on something that doesn't have wheels," I told him chuckling slightly at his childish behavior.
It's nice seeing that side of Bell considering all that's happened to him. While he may see himself as nothing special I believe he will be something great. Greater than even the Hashira. While yes he is right about Zenitsu being faster and Inosuke having a stronger will with Genya being the smartest with his knowledge of gunsmithing. But what I and the others see in Bell is the most potential. Sure he may not be the smartest or the strongest fighter in the world but he has the potential to be. At least that's what his grandfather said.
"Alright we'll do you think I can pop a wheelie with the cart then," Bell said interrupting my thoughts.
"You mean the cart with all our supplies and teammates," I asked him amused.
"Lili is not up for being flipped over in a cart," the prum said.
"Oh, ye of little fa- ah" Bell groaned grabbing his head.
"Bell what's wrong," I asked worried for him.
"I'm fine. I saw something though" he said shaking his head.
"Do you think the eye showed you something?" I asked.
"It did it showed me someone reading a book and then passing out. Any idea what it means" he asked.
I didn't have a clue and neither did anyone else. So with no answers, we continued on our journey.
Loki POV
"That kid is sure one for entertainment," I said bringing up my divine mirror.
"Oh I can't wait to see how he'll kick ass," Tiona said bouncing up and down on the couch.
"Will you stop bouncing on the couch it's annoying" Tione added holding her sister down.
"Eh, the kid seems to cause nothing but trouble," Eina's father said.
"Now now Warren you've only met him once don't be so quick to judge" his wife Aina scolded.
"Yes Warren believe it or not the kids got spirit," Finn said sitting at his desk.
"Oh you speak in praise of the brat Braver he do something to impress you," Warren said.
"Yes he did, believe it or not, he was the one that saved Tiona after her battle with Bache. Didn't come out unscathed either" Finn said.
"That's true he saved the lass and made quite a show of it too" Gareth added.
"And Riveria what are your thoughts" her friend Aina asked.
"The kids got raw talent refined from years of training. Yet he uses his weapons like he isn't comfortable with them yet. But other than that one minor drawback he and his familia has what it takes to rise up as one of the greatest" Riveria said.
"Wow such high praise have you fallen for the boy" I joked.
"No Loki he punched me in the face when we first met remember" Riveria answered.
"Ha, this kid has balls now I'm excited to see what he does in the war game," Bete said.
"Oh, and why did he do that," Aina asked a hint of anger in her voice.
"I wanted to ask him questions he didn't want to answer so Riveria grabbed him he swung so in his eyes it was self-defense" I answered not wanting to get the boy in trouble with the elves.
"Hey, it's starting," Tiona said excitedly.
"Bell get off the horse," Genya told him angrily.
"No fuck you I look awesome" he replied refusing to move.
"Boys settle down the event is starting," Rengoku told them and he was right. All across Oraio gods and goddesses were opening their divine mirrors to watch the war game. The neat thing about the divine mirror however was that we were able to watch whoever we wanted and since most of my familia loved Bell we were gonna watch him the whole time.
"He does look awesome though, like a knight" Tiona said softly.
"Heh heh, the lass is in love" Gareth chuckled.
Freya POV
"Allen dear what do you think of him," I asked before taking a sip of wine from my glass.
"The kid has talent but isn't devoted to you lady Freya," Allen said.
"Oh Allen dear he is a free spirit there's no chaining him down. Also, he has something inside of him no one else does" I replied.
"And that's is my lady" Allen asked.
"Infinite potential" I replied giggling a little.
"Oh look at him Allen he looks like a knight," I said feeling my heart rate accelerate.
Hestia POV
"Yeah my children are gonna kick some ass," I said aloud.
"Calm down Hestia it hasn't even started yet" my friend Hephaestus said.
"Oh please don't act like you don't wanna see Welf kick some ass too" I teased her and was delighted to see her face go red.
"Now now Hestia let's just enjoy the game," Miach said with Take nodding in agreement.
Syr POV
"Oh look Ryu it's starting," I told her.
"Hmm so it is," she said in her usual monotone voice as the divine mirror popped up.
Bell POV
"So Rengoku what's the plan," I asked standing next to him on a cliff overlooking the castle.
"Well right now I want you to go down there and cause some trouble," he said giving me a knowing grin.
I could feel a stupid grin come to my face as I started laughing like a maniac. I then agreed to his idea and walked over to Genya. "Oh Genya," I said in a singsong voice.
"Let me guess you want something" he deadpanned.
I nodded my head up and down and told him what Rengoku said.
"Alright but only use these to blow up their food and meds don't use these on actual people," he told me handing me a few grenades.
"Yeah yeah I got it. Now it's time to give everyone a show" I said running off towards the castle.
"100 valis he makes a fool of himself" I heard Zenitsu say.
"Deal" I heard Genya agree and then saw them shake hands.
"I heard that you dicks" I yelled back at them.
When I was about 50 feet from the castle I slowed to a walk and came right up to the front gate. I could see the men at the ramparts looking down at me. But none of them chose to speak so I started the conversation.
"Can I come in?" I asked like an innocent child.
"No now fuck off," one man said having finally gotten his courage.
"But I wanna come in" I replied.
"You're not coming in unless that gate opens," he said.
"Are you sure?" I said appearing right next to him. He didn't even have time to react before I slammed my fist into his gut and started a mad dash toward the storehouse.
"Catch me if you can" I yelled back.
It took only a few minutes but I had reached my destination. Opening the door to the storehouse I saw all of their supplies and two women taking inventory of them inside. One of the women's hair was red the other was blue. Now I recognized these women as I saw them at Apollos ball and was able to put together that they were executives. Now of course since I wasn't quiet in opening the door they heard me and were ready for combat with the red-headed woman pulling out a rapier and the blue-haired one taking a place behind her and started chanting.
Wasting no time I maneuvered past the redheaded woman and got right up in the mage's face. Giving a quick flurry of punches to the woman's stomach and then one to her face I knocked her out. I got lucky as an ignis fantus didn't happen and blow us all up. That only left the redhead who looked pissed. She started thrusting her rapier at me at surprising speeds for someone of her level. Had I been a level lower I might've had trouble. But I wasn't a level lower and in the span of a few seconds, I did to her what I did to her friends knocking her out as well. I then grabbed the two but the collar of their shirts and dragged them outside before pulling the pin off one of the grenades and tossing them into the storehouse. Then I quickly picked up the two women and hopped over the wall taking the two prisoners back with me.
Apollos POV
"That damn brat how dare he win in his plan like that. He shouldn't even be on the same level as my children" I thought anger taking over me.
Ibri Achaa POV
"And there you have it folks in less than 10 minutes since the start of the war game the young upstart has already destroyed the Apollo familia's stores but has also taken two executives hostage" I announced.
I heard the crowd cheer enjoying their excitement as the announcer of the war game.
"God I love my job," I thought before paying attention again.
Hestia POV
"YEAH, YOU GO BELL" I cheered somewhat drunk and proud of my child.
"Alright, Hestia I think you've had enough to drink. You don't wanna pass out while your kids are competing" Take said taking my glass away.
"You're right thanks Take" I replied before focusing back on the screen.
Loki POV
"What did I tell ya Warren kids better than you think," I told Aina's husband smugly.
He said nothing but grumbled in his seat while his wife giggled at his behavior. The rest of my familia was already cheering Bell on. Tiona cheering the most of course.
Syr POV
"Did you see that Ryu look at how cool he was?" I said to my friend who had the ghost of a smile on her face.
"Yes he did quite well for the opening act," she said her smile growing just a tiny bit bigger.
Freya POV
"EEEH Allen, did you see what he did? Did you did you" I squealed bouncing up and down in my seat.
"Yes lady Freya I did" he grumbled after hearing this for the 10th time already.
Eina POV
"Well the work was a pain in the ass but it is nice to see Bell control the battlefield," I thought looking at the boy who I saw as a younger brother kick ass.
Rengoku POV
"Leave it to Bell to turn this battlefield on its head not even 15 minutes in" I chuckled seeing the smoke rising from the castle.
"Imagine if we gave him 20" Genya joked.
"I'd only need 10," Bell said carrying two hostages with him.
"Oh, and who are they," I asked.
"Pretty sure one's the vice-captain and the other's an executive" he replied setting them on the ground gently. What we're not savages.
"So I guess they're our prisoners then," Welf asked with Bell nodding his head.
"Tie them up and place them in one of the tents. When they wake up feed them. They may be prisoners but they're still people" I ordered Welf and Genya as they hauled them away.
"So did I cause enough chaos for you" Bell joked standing beside me.
"You did well my boy. Cut out most of their leadership and destroyed their supplies good job. Now let's continue planning and get ready for tomorrow it'll be a long day" I told him as we headed back to my tent.
Daphne POV
I struggled to open my eyes as my head hurt and they felt heavy. When I was able to open them I knew we weren't in the castle. I tried to move my hand to shake Cassandra awake but couldn't as I noticed my hands were bound behind a pole. Cassandra's as well.
"Cassandra wake up" I hissed. Nothing happened so I tried a few more times before I saw her stir.
"Daphne where are we," she asked confused and a little scared.
"Probably in the enemy's camp. Whatever they do don't tell them anything" I told her.
"Daphne I'm scared what if they violate us," she said.
"Don't worry they won't do that. The whole of Orario would be a witness" I reassured her.
Our conversation was stopped as a boy with white hair and one blue and red eye entered the tent with bowls of soup.
"Yo you hungry"
Well, this is the beginning of the war game. Get comfy because we're gonna be here a while as there's a lot to cover. I thought about making the chapter longer but chose not to as I didn't want it to drag out with just talking and reactions padding out most of the chapter like they already are. So depending on how I feel the chapters will vary with how long they are. Anyway hoped you enjoyed and I hoped you like the reveal of Rengoku knowing Bell's grandpa and what was that book he saw.
