Next three chapters take place at the same time. Meaning that all the events that happen in one chapter are taking place in another.
Bell POV
"Don't worry Genya. I'll kill this traveler and get you somewhere safe" I told him but I knew he couldn't hear me.
I then turned to face the traveler looking at the man right in the eyes. Now that I was able to get a better look at him I saw how tall he was. Hell if I had to guess he's probably taller than Ottar and Ottar's 7 feet tall. A good ol David and Goliath situation right here. I cursed my short height. I readied my axe charging up the frost in it before I swung. An arc of ice shot forth from it hitting the traveler square in the stomach. However, he didn't even flinch from the attack and then he charged at me. I charged at him as well and we both swung our weapons at the same time. Our weapons met in the middle my axe and his long sword. Once our weapons connected however I realized I made a mistake.
The traveler lifted his sword and threw me into the air. He sent me about a good 50 feet in the air and as I started falling he prepared another swing. Thinking quickly I flicked my wrist bringing out my shield. The impact was fast and hard but the shield held. However, since I was still in the air I was like a baseball and made a joke through the tower. My back hurt but I knew I had to get back up.
"Should I use it?" I thought thinking of my skill. "No too risky I could lose control" I was broken out of my thoughts by the traveler landing right in front of me.
The traveler charged at me again and swung his sword. I dodged under his sword this time knowing what would happen if I tried to block. When I emerged I was right in front of him and he had no other weapon. So I swung my axe with all my might at his chest.
Clang
It bounced off and left me wide open for the traveler to punch me in the side. I could feel my ribs crack under the pressure and I skidded back. I fell to my knee as the pain overwhelmed me for a moment before getting back up.
"Alright he's big and slow but he packs a punch so I just have to be faster than him. Quick controlled attacks when he leaves himself open" I thought gripping my axe tighter. Once again the traveler prepared his assault giving a wide swing that if I didn't dodge over I would've lost my head. I swung again at his chest plate bouncing off again but this time I saw a little dent.
"Gotcha," I thought finally knowing how to win. We fell into the rhythm of me using my superior speed against his brute force however I noticed he became a little faster each time. But his armor was getting weaker and weaker with each attack I landed.
The traveler seeing this backed up little by little using his range advantage to keep me from getting closer. Couple that onto him using punches and kicks to keep me on the defensive. The battle slowly turned back into his favor. The travelers' sword then did something weird. It turned an ethereal blue the metal that made the sword looked like it disappeared entirely. Under the traveler's helmet, I could tell a smile was on his face even if I couldn't see it.
Suddenly my instincts screamed at me to move. Every fiber of me was screaming out at me that if I didn't move I'd be dead. Listening to them I did and was barely able to dodge a blue shockwave of energy sent toward me. Thinking quickly I slammed my axe to the ground and pushed forward sending a wave of ice toward him. The shards hit him but bounced off like they were nothing. Charging frost in my axe again I swung sending arcs of ice at him. Again they bounced off like they were nothing. Seeing that the axe wouldn't work I did a last-ditch throw at his head. The result was what I expected it bounced off.
All this time the traveler had been charging toward me not bothered by my attacks at all. He finally got within range and swung. I felt my should scream out in pain before I went flying towards the ground leaving a crater where I landed. I had no time to catch my breath however as I rolled out of the way avoiding getting my head squashed like a watermelon. Seeing a gap in his armor I dug one of my blades of chaos into his heel. I heard a howl knowing I had done some damage and then I was kicked away into a wooden scaffold. Because of the impact, the scaffold fell on me hurrying me under rubble.
Loki POV
I knew the kid would have a hard time but now I know he barely stood a chance. That whole time the traveler was playing with him like a child plays with its food. It allowed himself to get hit to make Bell think he had a chance. But when Bell stabbed him in the heel he got pissed off and ended the fight. We watched as the traveler got closer and closer.
"Come on Bell get up. You've done it before so you can do it again" Lefyia pleaded. While the twos relationship was rocky with Bell messing with her a bunch I could tell they were still friends.
But all the begging and pleading was for nothing as the traveler picked Bell up by his throat. He was already in a sorry state before the fight began. Most likely a concussion caused by getting shoulder tackled by the troll. But when the traveler picked him up we could see the full extent of his injuries. His head was split open a steady stream of blood oozing down his face. Thanks to him having no armor he was covered in cuts on his back and arms. A wooden stake was impaled in his right shoulder and two of his fingers we bent upwards. All in all, it didn't look like Bell would survive. The traveler wanting his prey to be alive took the wooden stake out of Bell's shoulder walking him up. However, this seemed to be the traveler's mistake as I watched him bring down the blades of chaos into the traveler's collarbone.
Bell POV
"You are outmatched, boy. The traveler was an enemy that even my son had trouble with. But I applaud you for fighting and not running. However, you need training, as I have seen you have no idea how to use my weapons and as such if you survive I will teach you how. Now a word of advice. When the traveler grabs you dig the blades of chaos into his collar bone that's one of his weak spots. After that, you'll know what to do" I heard Kratos's gruff voice tell me.
I was in a state of consciousness and unconsciousness. I could still feel and hear everything around me. Yet I found it hard to open my eyes. I then felt something cold and hard around my neck as I was lifted out of the rubble. I still struggled to open my eyes but that changed when I felt an immense pain coming from my shoulder. That woke me up and following the grumpy gods' advice I dug my blades of chaos into his collarbone. He dropped me and I brought him to his knees. But I knew he was still alive. So rather than letting him get back up I activated the fire in the blades and started boiling the man alive from the inside.
The man screamed and screamed thrashing around trying to get me off him. Which in turn made the cuts worse and helped the blades sink deeper in. Eventually, he stopped thrashing around as he was dead. His body was a weird shade of blue almost black-like color. His arms and face were red and his blood vessels exploded causing the to cause a pool in his body. I dug my blades out of him and kicked his body down. I then put my blades away and stumbled over to Genya. I threw him over my shoulder and made my way to the keep. Luckily the way the castle was laid out no enemies had reached here yet. I kicked open the door to the main hall dimly lit by candles.
I had to move my head as a crossbow bolt flew past it. "Lily it's me. Genya needs help" I said in a monotone tone. The battle had raged on for hours and I was tired yet I was still needed. The blue-haired woman named Cassandra moved over to us and said a quick chant. I felt and watched as a green light enveloped Genya and me. I felt a little better but my head and shoulder still hurt but Genya was still looking worse for wear.
"I'm sorry healing magic isn't my specialty I apologize" I heard her say timidly.
"It's alright as long as you can keep him alive he'll make it," I said heading back towards the door.
"Master Bell what's the situation out there" I heard Lily ask.
"Holding" I replied before exiting.
When I shut the door I heard a crash land right in front of me and when the dust cleared I saw Rengoku fighting an upper moon.
