"I remember you! You're pukey-face aren'tcha?"

"I don't consent with that nickname."

Sitting cross-legged on the ground, Yang offered a bottle of water to Jaune.

Jaune, who was resting against a tree, graciously accepted.

"Thank you," Jaune said. "For the water and for stopping me mid-flight."

Yang suddenly burst with laughter, completely catching Jaune off-guard. She held her stomach with her hands and tried her best to not topple over from laughing too hard. "I can't believe you. Who'd actually use Ruby's power like that except you? Not even I was dumb enough to try it."

"Gee, thanks for the encouragement."

Yang lowered her head, trying to meet Jaune's downward gaze. "I'm sorry if we got off on the wrong foot there."

Jaune, though a little bit skeptic, nodded.

"It's fine. I'm used to the older-sister-types already," Jaune drank a big gulp of his water bottle, placed the closed bottle to his side, and extended a hand. "My name's Jaune, Jaune D'arc."

"Nice to meet you Jaune. Name's Yang Xiao Long," she said as her hand met with Jaune's. "Just call me Yang."

"Nice to meet you too, Yang."

Jaune slowly stood up with the water bottle in tow. "You don't mind if I keep this around, right?"

Yang, with no hesitation, nodded. "Sure, go ahead my guy."

Soon, both of them walked through the path he was sent flying from. There was an obvious sign of carnage where he went, and it just made Yang laugh in an increasingly unhealthy amount.

"Enough, geez," Jaune said, his face a bit reddened. "Your sister's just that strong, you know."

Rubbing the tear coming out of her right eye, Yang grinned at Jaune. "That, and it's partially your fault in the first place."

Technically, it could be said that it was accidental murder by technicality, but Jaune wasn't about to press the issue further.

He had better change the subject.

"So–"

Before Jaune could continue, Yang closed-in on him playfully.

"Nah, I don't do or want that," she roped her left arm around Jaune's neck and pressed her bountiful bosom against Jaune's shoulder. "If you don't wanna talk, we don't hafta talk. Just act natural with me, comprende?"

Though he got something squishy touching against his body, Jaune paid it no mind. In-fact he tried not to pay it any mind at all. There was no way in this world that he would stop being teased if she had her way with him. Being reminded of his older sisters was not a good sign.

"Form is a void and void is the form."

"Whazzat?" Yang cattishly asked. "Some sort of Mistral saying?"

Jaune, focusing at the top of Yang's head, managed himself to change the topic.

"Well, let's trace ourselves back a bit," Jaune said. "If we follow our trail back to the ruined temple, we'll bound to see Ruby again."

She let go of Jaune and began thinking.

After a second of deliberation, crossing her arm and all that, Yang wanted to differ. "Nah, let's go the other way."

Jaune raised his brow.

"Why?"

"Cause we still need to get the pieces, buddy, that's why."

It was said so matter-of-factly that Jaune was unsure whether she had calculated it in her head or not.

Mulling it over, Jaune came up with an answer why.

"If we go the opposite direction, Ruby could find us by following the trail too!"

"Now that's a smart-cookie-fer-brains," Yang patted Jaune's head, ruffling his hair all the while. "Good job, Jaune."

Jaune, in return, chuckled as he brushed off Yang's hand. "Thanks, but you don't have to baby me."

"Awww why not? I want to baby you," Yang snuck in one last ruffling before it was time to go. "Aight, follow me. I'll lead the way."

"No, no, I'll lead," Jaune interrupted, walking where Yang was about to go. "Guy with the shield, right?"

For a second, Yang's expression softened. Her smile grew just a bit, before her guard was up again in no time.

"Lead the way, shield boy!"

As they walked the opposite way, far into the opposite of where they were going, was Ruby patting Weiss' back behind the pillar.

They were going to be there for a while.
