Sorry for my bad English.
Well, I have nothing to say so just go to the fic at once.
While he enjoyed the cool weather of Atlas, Fernando was glad to be back at Vale.
After the whole week doing a job for one of his old acquaintances, for a very low prize poor him, he was glad to be Beacon. Despite always hearing a student or two chuckling at the idea of oral lessons, noticing the teenagers waving at his face or making funny faces while thinking he is not noticing, and time from time trying to startling him with shrill sounds, he enjoyed being a professor more than be a soldier.
While being a teacher while being blind proved to be difficult, he managed to do his job properly.
The blind man was like usual hitting his cane on the ground while making his way to the staff room. He hasn't heard from his co-workers since he left and remembers that they were in a little hard situation with one of the students, and wanted to hear about how things wrapped up with Unicorn.
-Hello. -Fernando greeted them once he opens the door of the staff room. -Did I miss something while I was out? -He asks as he enters and closes the door behind him.
Glynda was the first to react. She stood up and walked directly to the blind man, surprising him by putting both her hands on his shoulders and putting herself in the tip of her boots to give him a five seconds long kiss on the man's cheek.
-Someone is in a good mood. -Fernando said, surprised.
-I don't know how you knew it would work, but it worked. -He heard Glynda spoke.
-Can someone fill me? -Fernando asked.
-Since Glynda's talk with Unicorn a couple of days ago, her behavior has changed drastically. -Port spoke followed by Oobleck.
-No longer she is being rude towards her classmates, no longer she is ignoring or raising her voice to the staff, and she actually seems to pay attention to the classes. I can't believe that all we had to do is have a talk with her.
-This is not right, Oobleck. -Glynda spoke, confusing the history teacher. -We were always talking to her, the problem is that we refused to listen, right Fernando? -As she asked, everyone focused on the blind man who just shrugged.
-It seems so. And what else happened?
-What do you mean? -Glynda asked.
-C'mon, I know with the change of her behavior, some events would take change around here.
-For a blind man, you sure know how to see all it is happening to you. -Oobleck said pushing his glasses. -Turns out, she went to Ozpin's office another day, by herself and with a company.
-Company?
Viridian loved Beacon.
Not because of being the best academy in the four kingdoms or the competence of the professors in teaching, but simply because of the fact there were so many beauties walking around.
No matter where a male student would be looking at, a pretty gal would be spotted, a full plate for someone who just loves the ladies as he does, but not in a good way.
Putting it short, Viridian is a pervert, and almost every girl in Beacon knew about this. Yet, he was still around, kicking it and bothering the girls with his constant harassment.
Viridian knew how lazy the professors were in relation to punishment since the time he saw the food fight between the teams RWBY and JNPR. They caused so much chaos and yet they were not punished, got detention, or were scolded for all the trouble caused.
But when a student messes with another student, things were different.
It seems that the headmaster and the professors allow the students to deal with the problems they have regarding other students, which means if the staff seems one of their students as a bad influence such as Viridian, they would allow his classmates to beat him down as much they wanted, and the staff would pretend to not see anything.
But they did not know about Viridian's semblance.
It seems the professors do not know how his semblance works and with that, they would believe that Viridian is just getting what he asking for and not care a bit if he got hurt, not knowing that his semblance practically makes it impossible for him to feel anything that happens to him.
-Morons. -Viridian muttered as he passed by Port and Oobleck.
Scanning the crowd around, his eyes looked for any babe around for him to 'love'. His smirk was so big to the point of being spotted from his back once seeing Unicorn sitting alone in the courtyard.
The black-haired girl seemed in deep thoughts while with her headphones on, which means she did not notice the pervert approaching. With a creeping smile, he wrapped a hand around Unicorn's shoulder and his fingers closed around in an inappropriate place to a man touch a woman.
The frown comes to Unicorn's face in less than a second and she quickly got up, closed her fist, and send directly to Viridian's face, except for the fact that stopped inches from his face.
-Uuuhh... -Was all the boy thought in say while seeing the closed fist in front of his eyes.
He was soon caught by surprise when Unicorn suddenly grabbed him by the throat, shocking the air out of him as she pulled his arm and forced him against his back.
-Owowowowow... Ow! What are you doing?! -He asked and was forced to walk.
The small crowd around was confused by the scene. They knew about Viridian's actions but it was the first time a girl did not send him flying after one of his usual doings.
Ozpin's Office
Ozpin was cut out off from his work when the door of the elevator opened and was surprised to see Unicorn holding Viridian by an armlock and forcing him into his office.
-Ms. Unicorn...
-He ran his hand over me. -Unicorn interrupted her.
After seconds of silence, Ozpin spoke again.
-What?
-He ran his hand over me. -Unicorn said again and threw Viridian down to his knees.
-Mr. Viridian, this is true?
-W-well... -The boy did not know what to say.
It was the first time a girl brought him to an authoritative figure after his doing.
-Mr. Viridian, I made you a question so give me an answer.
-I can explain. -Viridian began.
-So you are not denying the fact that you harrassed one of your female classmates?
Not knowing what was happening, Viridian could not think of anything to say. Normally he was beaten down and then the professors would think he was punished but now, he was brought to the headmaster who was demanding him to explain his actions.
Having no excuse, there was only an exit for him...
-Viridian was expelled? -Fernando asked and Glynda nodded.
-After he was forbidden to leave his room until an investigation was taking place, we discover that allowing the female students to deal with his behavior was doing nothing to him.
-What do you mean? -Fernando asked.
-He was able to erase parts of his own memory from some events and his body would believe that whatever just happened, never happened. -Glynda explained. -Every punch and kick, every broken bone, every blood lost, he just needed to erase from his memory and his body would act like it never happened, allowing him to do whatever he wished with any girl and he would literally just forget a second later. Believing that nothing happened after he committed the harassment, any blood loss would automatically stop, every broken bone would return to the place, every bump he would receive in the face from a punch would disappear. We should have deal with his behavior from the beginning.
-One of those semblances which transform the body in some way, got it. -Fernando said, then notices something. -Wait, no one knew about his semblance? -Fernando asked.
-I guess there is more we need to fix besides our teaching methods. -Glynda whispered.
-Something else?
-Actually yes. -Port spoke next. -Do you remember what we said about her meeting with Eclair?
Fernando nodded.
Eclair was well known around the academy for not knowing when to shut up.
Each time she opened her mouth to speak, it would take almost an hour for her to stop, or someone makes her stop. So once again, there she was, in the cafeteria, speaking with Velvet Scarlatina.
-Then she just told me, you only have those two daggers, you can't keep throwing against your opponents like that. But she wanted me to go in close-quarter combat, is a close-quarter? I think is close-quarter. She wanted me to have closer-quarter combat with a guy who uses two enormous axes? What is she thinking? I know she is the combat teacher, but I think it would be better to keep my distance. After all, one swing of those axes would mean a trip to the infirmary, and I don't want to bother Ms. Yukino with another bruise caused by reckless. My last bruise like that was because I put one wrong ingredient on professor Peach's class resulting in an explosion that made my arm bleed a lot, it was like one of those horror movies where the main villain stuck his arm on the tractor. Y'know, I never got those movies. Any huntsmen would be able to handle any of those called serial killers, yet they are represented as an unstoppable force by those he is chasing. I remember one girl who had a bazooka slash bat and she decide to run away from him. Just blow up that bastard for god sake. It is not so hard. They were in a straight corridor. You notice that Beacon's corridors seem more straight than any other school. You just keep going and going and going in a straight line. I know every corridor is straight but in Beacon, the corridors just seem to be more straight. I said this to some guy and he accused me of being disrespectful to him. I didn't know at first what he means by that until...
The conversation was almost making a whole hour, and the bunny girl was on the edge of ripping off her rabbit ears to free herself from this conversation, which seemed to go for minutes more.
-ECLAIR! -A voice suddenly rang, and everyone in the cafeteria was surprised to see that Unicorn was the one who called the blonde-haired girl.
They were more surprised with the fact that she raised her voice so loud, being uncharacteristic for her to speak so loud. The black-haired girl approached the talkative girl, who was ready to defend herself from having something stuffed in her mouth.
-U-Unicorn... -Velvet tried to speak, but Unicorn spoke first.
-You're talking too much.
-I am? -Eclair asked and Unicorn nodded. -I didn't notice. I always have so much to say like the time...
-You can stop riiiiight there. -Unicorn interrupted her. -You don't need to talk about every aspect of what happened to you in the week. You're bothering the others like that.
Eclair then turns to Velvet and notices the uncomfortable expressions on the faunus' face.
-I didn't know I was being such a bother. -Eclair says and then turns to Unicorn. -Hey, can you help me with that? I know that you don't talk too much, so makes you a good choice for me to...
-First of all, only explain if whoever you are talking about.
-Oh right. What else?
Then the black and the blonde-haired girl left the cafeteria, leaving the faunus alone to finally shove her head on the table and let out a relieved sigh.
-Thank Lord. -She muttered.
-After that, we heard that her communication with her teammates has improved well over the past few days. -Port concluded.
-And all Unicorn needed to do was pass her wisdom to Eclair. -Fernando said with a chuckle. -There is something ironic about that.
-Unicorn's behavior was not the only thing that changed in the academy. -Glynda began. -While small, it is correct to say that those changes were for the best for those who were affected by them.
-And what you learned with this? -Fernando asked.
-That we should learn to listen to what our students have to say. -Oobleck answered.
-And?
-We should not let our students take whatever matter is bothering them by their own hands. -Glynda answered.
-And what did Ozpin learned?
-While our students may still be children, they must be punished as such after any wrongdoing. -Glynda said, remembering the day she returned to her work when she forced the teams RWBY and JNPR to clean the whole cafeteria for the food fight they had.
The pervert is gone, the talkative girl too learned to listen, and Unicorn stopped with her rude attitude. He lost quite a lot.
End of the chapter.
When it comes to punishment, something I see to be usual is the professors let the students deal with those who are causing problems, mostly CRDL of course. When they cause trouble, teams RWBY and JNPR and someone else beat them down while the professors do nothing about it or just let to after the beat down.
I stand with the part of few readers who think that the professors should be the ones to deal with their misbehavior instead of allowing their students to take care of the situation since there are times they are actually being unfair to CRDL.
The fact they did not know about Viridian's semblance is also related to the fact that they probably did not know that Jaune still did not have his semblance when he went to the academy. The students also seem to forget to explain how their semblances work, something I theorized from team RWBY's fight against the Paladin.
So, the problems are solved, the professors can breathe in relief knowing that Unicorn is behaving, and all ends well when ends well.
