"Come on, guys. It's our turn to do cleaning today, especially since we cut class." Houki said.
"But Ichika would have been swallowed by that fire if hadn't done that." Rin said.
"It can't be helped. Rules are rules, bending them leads to repercussions." Laura said.
"Perhaps, but they didn't have to make it sound like we're being punished." Cecilia said. All of them were set to work on cleaning the school. That's their punishment for cutting class, even if it did save Ichika's life. The others were complaining about it, Charlotte just went along with it. She just sat by and watched them all argue.
"I do wonder if we'll get all of this done while they're all complaining." Charlotte said. "Ichika, could you pass me the bucket of water?" She asked, but she saw Ichika was just standing there and his mind wondered off. "Ichika, are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh... Sorry, Charl." Ichika said when he snapped out of it.
"Is there something troubling you?" Charlotte asked.
"Well, yeah." Ichika said. "I can't stop thinking about what happened with Bane. Someone was going through a lot of trouble to get their hands on my charm. It has me wondering what exactly kind of power does this charm hold."
"True. Someone wants it badly." Charlotte said.
"I'm also wondering how I can help the spirit inside it." Ichika said. "He has no memory of his past, or even who he is. I would like to help him, but I'm not exactly sure how I can do that. So, I was thinking of something this weekend, and I thought maybe you could help me."
"Me?! Why me?" Charlotte questioned.
"Well, you're incredibly smart, kind, and you know how to connect with people." Ichika said. "I figured you would be able to do something that could help. Maybe you could figure out something."
"I would like to, but where do we even begin?" Charlotte questioned.
"Well, I was thinking that you and I should get together this weekend." Ichika said. Once he said that, Charlotte's face turned all red. It sounded like Ichika was practically asking her out. "What do you say, Charlotte? You think you can help out?"
"Oui! I be more than glad to help!" Charlotte said with much enthusiasm.
"Great! Let's meet up this weekend!" Ichika said as he was glad Charlotte was going to help him out.
'Me and Ichika alone on a weekend?! It will be like a date! I can't believe it!' Charlotte thought as she was so excited for such a thing. That's assuming the others don't find out about this.
...
The Weekend
The weekend soon came around and Ichika was getting himself ready to meet up with Charlotte. There was just one problem Ichika was having. The same kind of problem people have when they meet up in a situation like this: what do you wear?
"Oh... Come on! Why am I having such a hard time deciding what to wear? I'm just meeting up with Charlotte" Ichika said as he was debating on what shirt to wear.
"Do you really think Charlotte will be able to help uncover the secrets of my past, Ichika? She doesn't know much more than we do about the charm or myself." The spirit said.
"True, but Charlotte is pretty smart. I figured she of all people would be able to help figure something out." Ichika said. "Every time I struggled with something, she was the one that really helped me out. She helped me understand things better, explains them simply, and is always willing to lend a hand if I need it."
"That is true. She is a good friend." The spirit said.
"All of them are." Ichika said as he listed some great qualities of his friends. "Houki's a great duelist who showed me a few tricks. Rin's a great cook who also seems ready to jump into action, just like Laura. Cecilia is always willing and ready to lend a hand anyway she can. They're all great, but I think Charlotte is the one that can help the most here."
"I hope you're right." The spirit said. "There's so much I don't know about myself, so much I want to know, yet I have no clues" It's not easy not knowing who you are or where you came from. All the more reason Ichika wants to help.
"Once I decide what to wear, we can get out of here. We'll find those answers." Ichika said as he will make sure of it.
...
Charlotte
Charlotte waited outside a plaza for Ichika. She was so excited about her possible date with Ichika that she didn't really think about what she was getting into. Ichika really needs her help to solve the mysteries of the Mystic Charm, but she doesn't even know what to do.
"Why did I agree to do this?" Charlotte wondered. "I would like to help Ichika, but I only know a little about the Mystic Charm, not enough that could actually help. I sure do hope I could think of something or Ichika can say la vie." Charlotte was hoping she could find something. At that time, Ichika was rushing as fast as he could to meet with Charlotte. Once he spotted her, he knew this was where it starts.
"Okay, Spirit. This is where you take over." Ichika said as he actually caused them to switch places. The spirit surely wasn't expecting that.
"Hey! Ichika! You can't just... This isn't a duel!" Ichika complained with Charlotte noticing him. Once he saw Charlotte spotted him, he just tried to act normal. "Hello."
...
A Diner
With not much to go on or not knowing what to do, the two of them tried to make the most of their situation. Deciding to get something to eat as an ice breaker, the two of them hit a diner. Not being too familiar on what to do when he's not in a duel, the spirit just sat there and made things a little awkward.
'I wonder what he's thinking about.' Charlotte thought. 'I've got to say something or he's going to be very disappointed. Remember to stay focus, Charlotte. He asked for help, this is more than just a date.' She tried to keep her thoughts in order and focus on the task at hand. "Ichika, or whatever your real name is, I think I have an idea."
"What is it?" Ichika questioned.
"Look here." Charlotte said as she pulled out a magazine. "It's about the museum and holds some interesting exhibits, both on history and mythology. Do you think it's possible we could find something about your charm there? It is both historical and mystical."
"Could be..." Ichika said as he took the magazine and read a little about it.
"I think it be a great idea!" Charlotte said as she was getting excited that this might work, but he didn't seem that certain about it. That killed her enthusiasm. "Unless, you don't want to. You don't seem that happy about it. We could try something else if you like."
"I'm sorry, Charlotte." Ichika said. "You must understand that this is all very strange to me. I know nothing about who I am or where I came from. I feel like a stranger in this world. Before I met Ichika, I knew nothing about myself. It was like when Ichika and I melded for the first time, something in me just awoke, but I do not know what I am here for. There are so many questions I have and I'm not sure where I can even find the answers. You and Ichika are doing your best to help, and I greatly appreciate that, but I don't see how."
"I actually understand. I kind of get how you're thinking." Charlotte claimed as she really did had some idea with what the spirit was thinking. "It might not be exactly how you feel, but I do understand it. I haven't exactly found my path yet. A lot of people are like that. They don't know who they are or what their purpose in life is. It's not something that can just be answered for them, it's something they have to discover for themselves. The problem is that people aren't brave enough to search through things they've never been before. However, not seizing the chance could be the same as you giving up on a chance to learn something about themselves. The fear can be overwhelming, but maybe they have it all wrong. Don't see the unknown as something to fear, see it as an opportunity."
"That's an insightful thing to look at things." Ichika said as he was impressed.
"So, is there anything about yourself you have learned so far?" Charlotte asked.
"I do know that my origins have something to do with my charm, and that there are seven other items out in the world." Ichika explained. "Other than that, I'm not sure."
"Maybe finding the other seven would help." Charlotte suggested. "Either way, we're not going to get anywhere like this, and you can't always dwell on the answers you don't have." She said as she got up. "In fact, I say we try to go and enjoy life."
"Enjoy life? What do you have in mind?" Ichika questioned.
"I'll show you." Charlotte said as she grabbed him by the hand, paid for their food, and the two of them took off. "Let's go enjoy what we do have!" Charlotte wanted to cheer him up about not having answers while also helping him get the courage to face things he's never faced before. They tried the music store, the zoo, and the park. She got the spirit to try things he's never tried before in hopes of learning some things about himself, even if it's just something little.
"Charlotte, look at this." Ichika said as he stopped at another store. "They sell some cards here to help improve your decks."
"You want to check it out?" Charlotte asked as it seemed he did like the idea. The two of them went into the store and tried to get some cards that he can add to his deck. Once they got some cards, the two of them were on the move again. Ichika did seem rather satisfied with the cards he got. "Did you get some good ones?"
"Yes. These spells and traps will be most helpful." Ichika said.
"And there is something else about yourself. You certainly love to duel." Charlotte said.
"I suppose you're right. I don't know what it is, but I feel so compelled to it. It's like a feeling I can't really described." Ichika claimed. All and all, it looks like it's becoming a really good day.
"Come on. Let's try another fun spot." Charlotte said as she grabbed him by the hand and the two of them took off.
...
The Arcade
Charlotte ended up taking them to the arcade for some more fun. There were so many fun games to have and enjoy.
"Look at all the fun games to play." Charlotte said. "You certainly seem to enjoy dueling. Maybe you enjoy playing some games."
"I wouldn't know about about." Ichika said.
"You just need to relax and have some fun." Charlotte said. To prove her point, she needs to find a game she can play and enjoy. She looked around and soon spotted one. "This dancing game sure looks fun!" Charlotte spotted a dancing game and went straight to it to check it out.
"How do you play it?" Ichika questioned.
"You just follow the beat, step on the squares when they light up by dancing around." Charlotte said. "Watch and see." She climbed up to the game and decided to show how it's done. She hit the start and the music started playing. Once it did, Charlotte started dancing while trying to hit the right squares. It started out simply and it looked like it was going well. Her timing was perfect and was scoring big points. Then, the beat started going faster. The music, rhythm, and speed started to increase. However, Charlotte kept her cool and her timing was still perfect. She looked amazing up there like an actual dancer. In fact, it was started to gather a crowd. Everyone was impressed with what they saw with her up on the stage.
"Wow! Look at her go!"
"That girl's got some moves, and she's pretty too!"
"I haven't seen anyone this good at the game!" Charlotte was doing excellent. Soon, the song was coming to an end and Charlotte was putting the finishing moves out there. When it happened, she still looked amazing and probably got one of the best scores. Charlotte got a loud cheer from everyone there and Ichika was rather impressed himself.
...
Ichika and Charlotte
"That was rather impressive, Charlotte. You looked like you were having the time of your life up there." Ichika said as the two of them walked through the streets while the sun was going down.
"It's just as I said. If you see the unknown as an opportunity, you can find lots of things. Even if it just a joyful time." Charlotte said.
"It would seem so." Ichika claimed as it had him do some thinking.
"Anyway, I'm really sorry." Charlotte said.
"Sorry? For what?" Ichika questioned.
"It seems I might have wasted out time." Charlotte said. "I was have so much fun that the day is almost over. We were suppose to try and learn more about your charm and your past, Ichika; or I should say Spirit, or whatever it is you call yourself now."
"I wouldn't say that exactly." Ichika said. "You were right, Charlotte. I have to take the chance and explore what we can, and I know where to go next." Feeling brave enough and wanting to take the chance, the two of them soon found themselves standing at the museum.
"Are you sure about this?" Charlotte asked.
"I am, even if I won't find anything in there." Ichika said. "I have to explore the unknown if I want to find answers. Let's see what might await us." He said with Charlotte willing to follow after him. They're taking their first steps into unknown and into possible adventures.
