Haruto dropped to his knees and looked up towards Ruri who remained in control of Yuzu's body.
"Who… who are you?" Haruto stuttered.
"Duel me now!" Anna yelled. "I will take you on and make you a card!"
"Anna just listen! Remember the moments we had as friends?! When our duel school took on other duel schools? We used to be a tag-team!"
"Anyone could read Ruri's mind to know that!"
"But not the experience we felt! The fun, the laughter!" Ruri pleaded. "And Haruto, remember when you were nine? I was able to help you when you were ill! I helped with Kaito to make sure you got well again after you left hospital!"
"Just shut up!" Haruto hit back.
"Please, just listen to me! It's me!"
Ruri looked down and had an idea. Ruri removed Yuzu's pink duel disk off her wrist while she looked at Yuya. Yuya understood what she was implying and did the same by removing his red duel disk.
The two threw the duel disks to the centre of the field and Anna and Haruto looked down to them before taking them.
"We want no violence…. just please, trust me." Ruri said.
"This…. peace offering…. Ruri said about doing the same thing when Academia first invaded." Anna said to Haruto. "She always wanted peace."
"Yes before I learned that Academia couldn't be negotiated with… please… just trust me…" Ruri answered.
The two Resistance members looked at each other and Anna looked towards them.
"Follow us this way." Anna said bluntly, as the two walked away, Ruri's eyes changed back to Yuzu's. The ghost figures of Ray and Ruri disappeared as Yuzu and Yuya wondered where they had gone.
Ruri
Ruri opened her eyes, she had returned to the point where she collapsed and found herself in Yuzu's location. Ruri was on the ground while Rio sat down on some rocks nearby; she hadn't noticed that Ruri had woken up.
"Ruri… are you okay?"
As Ruri regained her senses, a familiar voice was heard from beside her.
"What…. happened?" Ruri questioned as she turned around to see a figure in a green shirt with a black cape. "Yu… Yuto?!"
"Hi Ruri." Yuto replied with the biggest smile anyone could have on their faces. The two quickly embraced with each other, neither wanting to let go.
"So you're back." Rio said to Ruri.
"Sorry about that I…." Ruri said as the two released themselves from the hug.
"Ruri can explain when we go back to the camp." Yuto replied.
"Yuto… I can't believe it…." Ruri stuttered.
"I found you after all this time…" Yuto replied back, the two looked at each other again, they stuttered before bursting into pure-relief smiles.
"How though? What happened when you came back?!"
"We can answer all this back at the camp." Rio said. "Then you lovebirds can talk all night." Rio said firmly.
Ray
Ray had woken up as well and Shun was there to help her up.
"Thanks." Ray said as Luna only watched them interact.
"What happened to you?" Luna asked. "You just collapsed?"
"It's a very long story." Shun replied.
"We will explain once we get back to your base." Ray answered as she took a deep breath in.
"I really hope you're telling me the truth…. Rio won't be happy I just let you in without dueling you two to test you…."
"We appreciate it, Luna." Shun replied.
"Let's just go before it turns to night."
"HOLD UP!"
"Oh no…." Luna face palmed.
"Oh… you're kidding me... not him." Shun yelled.
"Amazing! I found them! I found them!"
The figure in a white school uniform stopped. He put his hands through his hair and gained a cocky smile.
"I knew it! I knew I would be the one to find you on your return, Shun!"
"Shingo Sawatari…." Luna replied in an annoyed manner.
"Wait… you're here? How?!" Shingo gasped at Luna finding them first. "You Resistance need to stop dressing in dark clothing and hiding in the shadows!"
"Shingo? This is Shingo?" Ray said to Shun.
"Sadly…."
"Well I found you with my amazing detective work; I bet you just found them by accident." Shingo replied to Luna.
"Whatever…." Luna sighed.
"And you must be Ray?" Shingo said. "Wait?! You were working for Academia!"
"Shut up!" Shun yelled to him. "It wasn't her fault! Don't go yelling that about!"
"We have to go!" Luna yelled. "They'll be shutting the gates for the night and I don't want to sleep outside exposed!"
…..
"I know Academia wrecked this place but…. there surely has to be some form of life around here?!"
It was Mina; she was rubbing her body due to the cold air of the night rolling in. She was walking around the deserted streets of Xyz having landed in the dimension a few hours ago. The girl who teleported herself from Synchro was now looking for any sign of life.
"Then again…. I'm wanted by Academia… and my cover with the Lancer's is over….." Mina continued to think. She took out the card with angel and dragon energy and watched it shine.
As she looked at it in the far distance she could see a group walk past. Mina hid behind some rubble and peaked over. It was Luna, Shun and Ray with Shingo.
"This will work!" Mina smirked.
Shun and the others walked back in silence, Luna, Shark's girlfriend was still sceptical about their identities.
"So what happened when you arrived here?" Ray asked Shingo.
"I've been stuck in this dimension for ages now… " Shingo replied. "When that Mina girl tricked me and Yuto we ended up in the Ritual Dimension and…." Shingo paused as he looked at Ray; he hadn't thought his words through. Ray's head dropped.
"I remember…. now….. I was sent to Ritual and I dueled Yuzar there…. you and Yuto were there…." Ray responded in a slow depressed tone.
"Nice going, Shingo." Shun said bluntly.
"I…. yeah…. sorry about that." Shingo answered back, he looked ashamed with himself.
"No, don't be." Ray replied. "You wanted to avoid hurting my feelings… thanks."
"Anyway after we returned to Xyz we've been helping the Resistance, Me and Yuto."
"Why didn't you return to Synchro?" Shun asked.
"We tried but there was a block!" Shingo replied.
"But it was removed?"
"We gave up trying after several attempts… we were stuck here and we were needed here."
Luna noticed something fly towards them from the corner of their eye.
"Watch out!" Luna yelled.
Small white pellet-balls landed around the group, filling the air with white gas.
"Don't breathe it in!" Shun yelled. The group all coughed as one by one they fell to the ground asleep. Shun saw the figure in a yellow coat walk towards them. "Yo… you?"
Ruri/Yuto
Ruri walked behind Yuto, for some reason Ruri did not want to talk to Yuto after their initial meeting. Yuto had a feeling why she wasn't.
"So…. you've been separated for ages and now you're not talking?" Rio said to Ruri.
"So now you think I'm Ruri?" she replied.
"Yuto vouches for you…. that's all I need…. sorry about what I said, Ruri."
"So why aren't you talking?" Uriel appeared and said to Ruri.
"Because….. because I wasn't here for Yuto when he needed me." she thought back.
"Hardly your fault?"
"But still…. I should've been plus…. when I last saw him… that vision of Dark Rebellion taking over when he dueled Yuzar, I've never seen Yuto like that…. and…"
"It scares you?"
"Yes but…. every time I see Yuto I see… that anger…. Uriel, you said my connection with the dragon had been broken."
"The influence Dark Rebellion gave out… yes, Yuto couldn't snap out of it even with you, Ruri. I'm not sure if even Fiona could…."
Yuto stopped and looked behind at Ruri.
"Ruri we need to talk." Yuto said.
"Yuto…. I…. agree."
"You two can talk back at the camp." Rio said. "They will close the gates soon."
"You're the leader, Rio, you can change those rules."
"Yuto, it's dangerous out here!" Rio persisted.
"We won't be long, this needs to be in private. Everyone in the camp will hear us if we talk there." Yuto replied.
"… Fine! Five minutes." Rio walked further up the road and left Yuto and Ruri alone.
"Ruri…. you know I'm sorry for what happened."
"I'm the one who's sorry… I couldn't do anything…"
"Are you scared of me?"
"No!" Ruri answered back right away. "I'm scared of Dark Rebellion and you getting hurt…" Ruri put her head onto his face and looked into his eyes.
"You see Dark Rebellion more than me now… don't you?"
"No! I just can't stop thinking about that devil living inside of you…. and all the times I failed to help you like when Sergey trapped me…."
"You know Dark Rebellion wasn't always a devil." Uriel said. "The times me, Fiona and Dark had were special."
"I know… sorry, Uriel." Ruri replied. "I didn't mean it like that."
"I know but Dark is a devil right now who needs saving."
"How could you save Dark Rebellion?" Yuto asked.
"Clear Wing got saved in the Synchro Dimension!" Ruri remembered and replied with an optimistic response.
"He did? Where's Yugo now?"
"Well….."
"He got captured I guess?"
"Yeah…. Clear Wing had finally realized he was wrong and begun to help us but now…." Ruri stuttered. "… Now they'll be coming after you and Yuya."
"Don't worry about that; let's focus on saving Dark Rebellion." Yuto said.
"Well…. yeah, we know he wasn't a bad person before all this happened. Just like what you said to me back when we stayed together during that night in Synchro… how because we carded people… that doesn't make us bad people… because we're trying to atone for our errors."
As Yuto was about to speak, Ruri's duel disk bleeped.
"What is it?" Yuto said.
"My duel disk….? It's a message?" Ruri clicked the holoscreen and on the other end was a sight she didn't expect to see, Mina.
"Ruri, I'm glad you picked up."
"Mina." Ruri answered firmly.
"Mina? She's here?" Yuto questioned. "Mina, how are you?"
"I see you didn't tell him…" Mina smirked. "It's been a long time since Synchro."
"We were being chased and you opened the portal for us? We presume you got captured?" Yuto added.
"Mina's Academia." Ruri explained.
"Yeah I know, she helped me escape from Academia, she's on our side now."
"No she's not." Ruri said. "It was all a lie…. Mina was lying to us to gain the angel and dragon energy… she also wanted to experiment on us further."
"This isn't the time for jokes, Ruri." Yuto said. "Mina, where are you?"
Mina sighed and took a step back. Now the screen showed Shun, Luna, Ray and Shingo. The four were stuck in a green force field dome.
"Shun, Luna, Ray?!" Yuto yelled out.
"And Shingo! Don't forget me!" Shingo yelled in rage while hitting the wall. As he did, Shingo was zapped from the force field and fell backwards.
"Mina?! What have you done?!" Ruri yelled. "Shingo, are you okay?!"
"I'm fine! Nothing I can't handle…..!" Shingo said as he got up, trying to put on a brave face.
"I have your friends." Mina said who walked back into view. "I don't care about them, bring the Xyz dragon here and you can have them. But I will still hurt them if I need to."
"Mina… why are you doing this?" Yuto still failed to believe Ruri.
"I tricked you, Yuto, end off."
"You need Ray to experiment on! You won't hurt them! Now give them back!"Ruri snapped back.
"I see someone has learnt a thing or two about war, Ruri. Being locked up with Yuri must've toughened you up! But you're right…. I can still hurt the other three though! I'll send you my location." Mina turned off the screen.
Yuzu/Yuya
Yuzu and Yuya were walking back as Anna and Haruto each held one of their duel disks. As they walked back, the two of them buzzed.
"What is this?" Anna said, stopping.
"Some trick?!" Haruto replied.
"No! It's a message!" Yuzu said. "Can I have it back?"
Anna and Haruto gave over the two duel disks and Yuzu and Yuya answered it. It was Ruri.
"Yuzu? Thank goodness you're here!" Ruri said, relieved.
"Ruri! What's wrong?"
"They have Shun and the others! Mina… she's here!"
"What?!"
"I'm sending you the location! Hurry!"
As Ruri hung up, Yuzu and Yuya looked at each other with worry.
Ruri
Ruri and Yuto along with Rio made their way to the location by running through the streets.
"So Shun was right about his suspicions." Rio said. "You should've listened."
"Not now, Rio." Yuto replied.
"She's right…." Ruri answered back in a monotone voice.
"No. You saw the good in her… maybe… there is something…" Yuto answered.
"Academia? Good side? You know that's stupid, Yuto." Rio responded.
The three arrived and saw the dome where the four were being kept.
"Ruri!" Shun yelled.
"Brother!" Ruri went over and nearly touched the cube but Yuto stopped her.
"Yuto…. you're here…" Shun stuttered.
"Didn't expect to see you like this!" Yuto replied. "But let's get you out of there."
As Yuto looked around to see a way out for them Yuzu, Ruri, Anna and Haruto all arrived.
"Yuto?!" Yuya said with joy.
"Yuzu… Yuya…. good to see you." Yuto replied.
"Ruri…. Shun…" Anna looked at them.
"They're all here…." Haruto added, almost stunned at the sight.
As Yuzu stepped forward green walls shot up from the ground and sealed the four in.
"What now?!" Yuya yelled.
From within the shadows stepped out Mina, smirking.
"Mina!" Yuzu yelled.
"Thanks Ruri, you brought the others right where I needed them." Mina said. Ruri gritted her teeth knowing she had been tricked.
"What are you doing?!" Ruri yelled.
"I have Ray, Yuzu and Yuya where I want them… these cubes will begin my data analysis!" Mina replied.
"What?!"
"And don't even try using your duel spirits…. I used the angel and dragon energy I took from you in Synchro to make these cages!"
"She… she's learnt to use the power?" Warrior said who appeared.
"Yes I have and now it means I can see all you spirits as well." Mina replied. "This is just amazing…! I'll get my mother back once I dispose of you all!"
"Okay… can someone explain what on earth is happening?!" Haruto yelled. "Let us out!" The boy played his hands on the wall which zapped him to the ground.
"Haruto!" Anna bent down to help him.
"Let them go!" Ruri shouted.
"Such a cliché line… I'll let the others go if you beat me in a duel."
"So you can hurt us and put us in the cages…." Yuto replied.
"Yes, that's about it!"
"I'll duel you!" Ruri said, stepping ahead of Yuto.
"No. I want a tag duel! You'll give me 8000 lifepoints however!"
"Ruri, I don't need you to protect me. I'm thankful you are willing but… I need to do this as well." Yuto said by placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Yuto….. fine…. I guess…"
"We will win." Yuto replied as both activated their duel disks.
"I've been waiting for this!" Mina added as she activated hers.

"When Warbler is summoned like this, I can bring out another Lyrilusc from my hand! Appear Lyrilusc - Cobalt Sparrow!" Another female bird came, this time it had blonde like hair and had brown wings. It had yellow claws for feet.

"When she's Special Summoned I can add a level one Winged Beast to my hand from my deck! I add Lyrilusc - Sapphire Swallow. And since I control a Winged Beast on the field I can summon it!" Another girl appeared but in a blue bird outfit.

"Birds with beautiful wings! Gather on the battlefield and take brilliant flight! Xyz Summon! Dance in the sky! Rank one! Lyrilusc - Recital Starling!" The three Lyrilusc's all shot into the whirlpool and a female bird shot out.
The creature was similar to Assembly Nightingale but its colours were darker and had stars on its wings.

"You won't flip it? Fair enough… I'll do it myself! I play the Spell Book of Taiyou! This lets me flip a Monster on the field to attack! Appear my Shaddoll Hedgehog!" A purple hedgehog surrounded in a dark glow emerged.

"Of course she uses that!" Anna yelled.
"You picked the wrong two people to duel!" Haruto added.
"Turn her into a card!" Rio shouted.
"You can't! We changed that rule!" Shun said. "It powers up Academia's plan!"
"You've been gone for a while, Shun!" Rio replied. "I changed the rules! I'm in charge now!"
"You can't!"
"We had no other choice!"
"I do love a good argument…." Mina smirked. "I use Shaddoll Fusion! And since you have a Monster summoned from the extra deck on your field, I can use Fusion Material from my deck! I fuse Hedgehog and Shaddoll Dragon! Appear before me, El Shaddoll Winda!" A green haired female in a purple outfit appeared on top of a dragon. It seemed to be its tamer.

"I use Hedgehog and Dragon's effects! When sent to the graveyard via a card effect, Hedgehog lets me add Shaddoll Falco to my hand and Dragon lets me destroy a Spell or Trap on your field! I'm taking out the one on your right!" The Trap was Ruri's Lyrical Luscinia - Power Flight.
"At least neither can attack until their second turn." Yuzu said.
"Yeah, we've seen Obelisk Force do the opposite… they attack a player even if they hadn't had a turn." Yuya replied.
"Maybe…. Mina is fighting with some form of honour?" Yuzu replied. Mina heard the words but ignored them.
"I set one card and end my turn."

"I can't and you know why! I overlay my two level threes!" Both Monsters became energy and crossed into a vortex. "Souls of knights who fell on the battlefield. Revive here and now, and become the light that breaks the darkness! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank three, Phantom Knights Break Sword!

A new knight mounted on a flaming steed came out of the great explosion, this one waved his sword.
"When Ragged Gloves is used as material for a Xyz Summon, the Xyz Monster gains 1000 attack points!"

"I set one cards…. and I use Break Sword's effect! I detach an overlay unit and destroy your Monster and a card I control! I'm taking out your Winda and my Trap I just set, Fog Blade!"

Break Sword galloped forward towards Winda but green-haired female was saved by a purple force field which pushed Break Sword back.
"She can't be destroyed by your card effects… but nice try!" Mina smugly replied.
"Still my Fog Blade is destroyed… I banish my Silent Boots! It allows me to add a Phantom Knight Spell or Trap; I'll add Phantom Knight Wing! I place two cards facedown and end my turn!" Yuto said as his Trap dissolved.

Mina drew her card next.
"Was any of that real, Mina? When you saved me from Academia?" Yuto asked, he was hurt after discovering Mina's true goals.
"What? That I was doing it as a favour? No, you're the only one who thought that." Mina replied. "I play the Fusion Spell Invocation!"
"Another?!" Rio yelled.
"I fuse Aleister the Invoker from my hand and thanks to my Fusion Spell; I can banish a Monster from my graveyard to Fusion Summon! I banish Shaddoll Hedgehog! Appear my demon Invoked Caliga in defence!" A demon which walked on all fours appeared. It was purple with black wings on its front legs.

"Two Fusions with different archetypes in the same deck…she's not bad I'll give her that." Luna stated.

"5200?!" Ruri yelled out as Winda wiped out Break Sword with fierce purple energy ball. Yuto fell to one knee as he took the damage.

Mina looked at Yuto and saw him holding his head. He wasn't at that stage yet but Mina knew she had Yuto exactly where he wanted her.

"I added Cobalt Sparrow! And since I control a Lyrilusc, Ruby Robin can appear!" A female in a red robin outfit emerged. She had a hood over her head with a beak.

"I use my set Quick Play Spell, Lyrilusc – Bird Flock! If I control two Lyrilusc's I can summon a Lyrilusc from my hand and then from my graveyard with their effects negated! Appear Cobalt and Sapphire!" Two portals appeared and the two bird-girls flew out and rose into the sky.

The whirlpool had a beam of light rise from it as a taller female bird arose. It shinned in the light as it revealed it's long white and blue wings. It had a sort of dress with golden sections which went over her bird like legs. Four overlay units spun around it.

"Since I used Cobalt as Xyz Material, you can't target it with card effects and Sapphire allows me to add Ruby back to my hand if she's used as material!"
"Both were negated but since those effects only apply once you Xyz Summon… you bypass it…. amazing, Ruri!" Haruto yelled out.
"But I won't stop there! I play Rank-Up-Magic Soaring Force!"
"A rank up?!" Mina was in shock for the first time this duel.
"Yes Mina and I'll rank up Assembly! Go!"
Assembly became a purple aura and shot high into the sky. The darkened night was lit up by the card.
From the sky emerged Nightingale but with yellow streaks going across its body. It's feathers were longer and sharper.

"Go Ruri!" Anna shouted.
"Her effect gives her 400 attack and defence for each overlay unit she has when Xyz Summoned!"

"Now I use an overlay unit!" Advanced lit up when the overlay unit was removed.

"This allows me to attack you directly this turn and you can't activate any effects in response to this! Go!"
Advanced built up an energy ball in between her wings. She stretched out her wings and slammed them together, hitting the ball like a tennis racket. Mina was struck in the chest, sending her flying.

"I use my Trap! Xyz Reuse! If I detached overlay unit this turn, I can do it again and use that effect again however you can draw a game."

"Mina! What have you done?!" Ruri snapped.
"I guess he knows I'm going to beat Yuto and wishes to avoid it… Yuto is refusing to use Dark Rebellion…. the only answer to get him out of this mess!"
"He feels a dragon?" Luna questioned.
"Do it, Yuto! Allow him to appear!" Mina taunted.
"Enough!" Ruri defended Yuto.
"Come on, Yuto! Fight it!" Shun yelled.
"What is going on?!" Rio demanded to know.
"It's a super long story… remember what I told you before about Yuto going berserk during that duel with that Fusion user who looks like him? This is that." Shun answered.
"Yuto…. you know what I'm going to do once I win…. I'll make sure Ruri is the first to be tested on…. the pain she will feel!"
"ENOUGH!" Yuto roared, a dark aura shot up and his eyes glowed.
"No! I can't be here!" Yuya panicked.
"MINA!" Yuzu shouted. "COME ON!"
"No… I have you all where I want you to be!"
"It's time!" Dark Rebellion yelled. "My true form! I OVERLAY MY TWO LEVEL FOURS!"
"True form?!" Anna responded.
"Formed from pitch-black darkness, to fight those foolish enough to oppose it with its treacherous fangs! Now, descend my true self! Xyz Summon! Appear! Rank four! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Yuto was surrounded by darkness as the mighty dragon emerged also covered in darkness.

"Enough of you!" Dark Rebellion fired a dark energy beam from his hand and into Ruri's chest, knocking her to the ground.
"RURI!" Shun and the others yelled.
"Mina, let us out!" Yuzu pleaded.
"No way… this experiment has been a success… but it's not over yet!"
"I use my two overlay units to use my effect! I halve your Monster's attack while I gain that amount! Treason Discharge!"

Dark Rebellion unleashes its wings and from them came rays of energy that sucked the attack points from Winda.

"GO!" Dark Rebellion's dragon form extended its wings and a powerful bolt of white lightning shot from its mouth, wiping Winda out with ease. The blast was strong enough to make the cages rattle and enough to throw Mina across the ground.

"I'm not finished! I use my set Quick Play Spell, The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up-Magic Launch! I'm using myself to Xyz Summon again!"
A dark portal opened and the dragon flew into it. Once in, a dark beam shot down.
"You want to see what a dragon can do? Well let me show you with one of my evolutions! Dark Reaper Xyz Dragon!"
A dragon shaped like Dark Rebellion emerged. Instead of its red markings, they were now dark purple. The Monster had blood red-eyes and its tail took the shape of a scythe.

"Yuto never… had that Monster?!" Anna said with a stutter.
"What did you mean, Shun? Berserk… you never spoke about it afterwards."
"Because…. my best friend becomes a demon…. the world of Duel Monsters is very much real… Monster's are real…. and Yuto's dragon is one of five trying to destroy all the dimensions…"
"I….. that's crazy." Anna stuttered. "But… so was the idea of other worlds and that's now true…. So Yuto has a demon inside of him?"
"Yes and Academia want them all." Shun replied. "But Mina is now independent… she's fighting her own cause."
"I use my Trap! The Phantom Knights of Steel Chain! I target a Monster on the field and change its position and negate its effects!" Invoked Caliga stood up and turned grey.
"Very impressive!" Mina complimented.
"Now I can use its effect! Now I attack! Dark Flare!" Dark Reaper unleashed a spiralling beam at Invoked however Mina was ready.
"I send Aleister the Invoker to my graveyard to increase Invoked Caliga's attack by 1000!"

The blast easily wiped out Caliga and Mina once again took damage but thanks to her last minute move, she survived.

"Fine… but I'll Reaper's effect! I reduce one Monster's attack on the field to zero and it gains halve that attack and it can attack again…. I'll choosing Advanced!"

"No!" Ruri cried out. Dark Rebellion had now turned on her.

"I knew I was dueling the Xyz dragon… so I prepared! Go my Trap, Double Dragon Descent!" Mina replied. "When you attack me directly, I summon a Light Xyz Dragon Monster! Its attack becomes equal to the attack Monster with its effects negated!"
"Mina?! Can use Xyz?!" Yuzu yelled.
"Appear Thunder End Dragon!" A sliver and blue dragon emerged from behind Mina.

Reaper unleashed the dark spiral once again but Thunder, thanks to its increased strength, was able to punch the spiral, forcing half of the attack to shoot towards Reaper. The two blasts struck each dragon, wiping them both out.
"HOW?!" Dark Rebellion yelled. "You're from the Fusion Dimension!"
"Only fools stick to one summoning method! I used some of your energy I captured to make a few countermeasures against dragons… you stopped yourself!"
"You're going to perish! I banish Fog Blade which brings back Break Sword!"

"Again you persist?!" Dark Rebellion replied.
"I'm taking you either way! I fuse Invoked Caliga and El Shaddoll Winda!"
"Her two Fusions?!" Rio said in surprise.
"Appear Invoked Elysium!"
Above, a golden frame emerged from within the dark Xyz sky.

"3200?! I have no choice but to end my turn…." Dark Rebellion gritted his teeth and closed his eyes.
"Oh? Did I make you retreat? How fascinating!" Mina mocked. "I dueled Starving Venom…. even though I lost on purpose, he was way stronger than you!"
"I'll bury you for those words!" Dark Rebellion said as he ended his turn.
"Yuto! Take back control!" Ruri pleaded.
"It's foolish."
Yuzu turned and saw Yuya smirking with red eyes.
"Odd-Eyes….." Yuzu said firmly.
"Dark Rebellion is the weakest, he talks a good game but he is no match. He needed me alongside him to win in Synchro!"
"You be quiet, Odd-Eyes!" Dark Rebellion yelled. "I'm not the one caught in a cage!"
"You're just a coward!" Warrior yelled who appeared in spirit form.
"As if this cage could hold me…. no, I don't interfere with my brother battles…. before my Magician friends betrayed me, we had a pact, to never interfere with another battle."
"So you still have some form of honour…. shame that honour belongs to an evil dragon!" Warrior snapped back.
"It makes them stronger! Once we merge fully, they must be the strongest they can be!"
"Odd-Eyes… the core dragon title belongs to me!" Dark Rebellion yelled. "I will make you all merge with me!"
"You weren't the one who could wield the Pendulum energy….. but as you know, once one of you can beat me then you gain that power….. but you can't even beat a human girl!"
"This is amazing… just… amazing…." Mina thought. "Two legendary powers…. fighting right before me…..!"
Luna, Haruto, Anna and Rio were all too surprised to say anything; they were seeing two demons speak to each other. They were just trying to make sense of the situation.

From it emerged a mighty tall purple angel. It had purple clothing with long pink wings.

Mina hit her duel disk and a green cage surrounded Dark Rebellion, capturing him.
"One down…. one to go!"
"MINA!" Ruri shouted.
"I don't need your forgiveness. Hound can still attack! Attack Advanced!" The purple beast jumped onto the rank two and clawed it until it was no more. Ruri felt the damage and dropped to her knees.

"The dragons and the angels…. since hearing about them when Leo created Academia…. I knew what I wanted! I was stuck testing stuff on bugs and irrelevant things… but now… the most powerful creatures in existence?! How could I resist that?!"
"Why are you so intent on doing such nasty stuff?!"
"The chance to learn new things while a dead body lies before you…. it's beautiful!"
"You're past… your past in the war… the things you must've seen…. there is another way!" Ruri replied.

"Maybe…. but I won't give up on you!I play the Continuous Spell Lyrilusc - Defence Formation! I take no damage once per turn from a battle involving a Lyrilusc and it's not destroyed…. I attack Elysium!"
"What are you planning?!" Mina demanded to know.
"Zero attack vs. 3200? Ruri's insane!" Haruto yelled.
"Damage I would take from battles involving Recital is also given to you! And since I take no damage thanks to my Spell and you have nothing to stop it… it's game over, Mina!" Mina smiled and accepted her defeat by closing her eyes.
"Regardless… I've already got what I wanted."
Starling slashed her feathers across Elysium, creating a huge blast which swept Mina away and into some rubble.

The cages around the group faded and everyone quickly moved away from their spots.
Lying on top of the rubble was Mina, now knocked out. In the opposite side, Yuto was in exactly the same position. The Lancers and Resistance could only take stock as to what had happened.

After Ancient One had introduced himself, Marina and Edo had appeared within the base.
"You two as well? Why are you here?" Ryo spoke in disgust.
"Because you've not found Dr. Faker." Edo replied. "It's been a while since we had any results… from both of you." Edo looked at Shark and then back to Ryo.
"Don't blame me, at least I check in with Academia with an update report." Shark responded.
"Regardless we need him! And since Leo isn't occupied anymore….."
"He told us. We know he's not dying anymore thanks to the angel and dragon power." Ryo said. "What of it?"
"Leo will come here soon! Doesn't that scare you?!" Marina added.
"He knows I have a certain way…. I've brought him thousands of carded people; it would be very unwise of him to change our agreement!"
"You were brought here to do a job, Ryo!" Marina snapped. "You will serve his orders!"
"And I do! In my own time! He might've stripped you of your titles but once again I am a commander and you should show respect!" Ryo barked back.
"We're also commanders again! So we're equals!"
"How cute…. something tells me he didn't send you here just to check on me… why are you here?"
"If you answered your messages… you would know Gloria escaped to this dimension…. you do check your messages, right?" Edo asked.
"The Xyz boy deals with that stuff." Ryo crossed his arms and looked out from the tower.
"It's Shark! Regardless, I was looking for Faker!" Shark answered back.
"It's fine…. you and the Ritual Dragon will deal with that while we find Gloria… if she finds the Resistance… our knowledge will belong to them." Marina added.
"You're aware as to why you need Faker, right?" Edo asked Shark.
"First it was for trying to build a support suit for Leo… now he wants his knowledge on sustaining the Arc Area Project… it seems getting fresh life has opened Leo's mind." Shark responded.
"Taking help from the Ritual and Xyz Dimension….. pathetic." Ryo said as he walked off.
"Ryo! I'll report you!" Marina yelled.
"I've been reported many times… it never amounts to anything! As I said, Leo knows my assets!"
"You're not bigger than the end goal! He will dispose of you!"
"You need to relax girl…. take a tour of my paradise or something!" Ryo walked down the stairs, laughing with all his might.
"He's not worth it." Edo said. "Ryo… is Ryo. He won't listen to anyone but himself."
"He thinks he can get away with it because he gets results?! How does Leo accept that?! I get results while following orders!" Marina replied clenching her fists, face with rage.
"Well clearly he gets better results… plus you're really going to question Leo's tactics?"
"No… of course not…. sorry, Ryo gets in my head…."
"Regardless… is this Ritual dragon safe?" Shark asked.
"Yes, from what we know, the original personality Yuzar was tortured until Ancient One appeared and conditioned. Yuzar no-longer exists so any chance of him interfering is zero."
"We killed him?" Shark replied.
"No… suppressed." Marina added. "Plus outside influences like Ray and Odd-Eyes have been erased from his mind. He's one hundred percent protected."
"Let's hope those words won't come back to haunt us." Edo responded. "Now we have our jobs, let's go."
As Edo walked off, Ancient One could sense something…. it was Dark Rebellion and Odd-Eyes awake in the same place. He had their scent.
Fusion Dimension
Academia – Serena's Room
"No cameras… good."
Yuri's eye lit up in purple as he said that. Serena's eyes were also glowing.
"So tell me, you have a plan?" Elisa said to Starving. Both had taken over the bodies once again, planning a way to stop Academia before the dragon and angel war continued.
"Of course I have a plan… but I presume you do as well?"
"I presume yours is as destructive as mine?" Elisa asked with a smirk.
"Great minds do think alike! Wipe out this entire school…. we wipe out Academia's ideals. They will fear and run rather than smirk and chase!"
"Just like it was back before all this begun." Elisa added.
"Before you betrayed me? True."
"You started to destroy our original world! We should've ended you before you even made it into the Supreme King Dragon!" Elisa replied.
"True, had you killed us, it would've ended it before it begun… but you didn't! You still supported your sisters despite disagreeing and wanting to end their lives!"
"You really don't understand. You were about to wipe out our whole world, I was planning to stop you by using the other angels… afterwards I was going to take their lives." Elisa replied.
"You don't appreciate the beauty in destruction!"
"How can you appreciate anything when there's nothing left?! What was the plan once you killed everyone in our world?!" Elisa snapped back.
"We would've had the angel power… we could just remake the world again and crush it… again!"
"You really believe that…. you really do… I wondered how we were ever even friends?!"
"Our paths split apart and soon battle will recommence. It was inevitable even if Ciel hadn't killed King Leo… that one day we would battle. Tell me, Elisa, could I ever convince you to see my way of life?"
"Not one chance. I still draw the line at mass destruction."
"Ah but I've seen you destroy quite a few things via Serena….. hypocrite much?" Starving replied smugly.
"Like you, I don't care for this world. It's a fake! I only care our own world!"
"And we can bring that world back…. by stopping Academia and using their equipment for our own."
"Agreed…. but then the cycle would repeat… the war would continue." Elisa explained further. Starving heard this line and begun to think about it.
"Regardless, we have a common goal… neither of us can backstab the other until then." Starving replied.
"You know I don't trust you… but agreed. If either of us tries, then we're all doomed." Elisa replied. "But this is the thing; will we just kill each other again when the world is restored?"
In response, Starving just gave a confident smirk.
"Answer the question!" Elisa snapped.
"Then we shall fight…. back to the death."
"And if you lose?"
"If I lose? Then you'll kill me…. like you vowed, right?" Starving placed Yuri's hand on Serena's cheek and looked right into Elisa's eyes. "Right?"
"Do you truly think you can kill all those people? What do you get out of it all?"
"We're dragons, this is who we should've been from the start… not guardians protecting! And I did before… of course I could again! But your eyes…. they something to me…. You couldn't finish even if you wanted!"
"Is it really my eyes that says that or is it something that you think? Elisa replied.
"Maybe it's both." Starving put Yuri's head onto Serena's so he could have a closer look. "You remember last time we had a proper fight…. like we did in training?" Elisa laughed at Starving's words.
"I beat you every damn time." Elisa shoved Starving away.
"We just need to blow this place apart; we will end this in seconds."
"Did you forget the seal? It's weakening by the day but to destroy this whole castle… we need a bit more preparation than just attacking."

"Head to Xyz, as of now you're Chief Commander."
Leo stood in his throne room and there bowing to him was Mamoru Noro who wore a blue coat and red waistcoat with a bowl haircut. He had an old-fashioned pocket watch attached to it via a string.
"I would be privileged, Professor." Noro replied while looking nervously to the side.
"What is it?"
"Well… it's just… um… well… Ryo is a…. wildcard…."
"You don't think you can tame him?" Leo replied.
"No! Not at all! It's just…."
"Then we have no issues." Leo answered back. "Everyone now reports to you, Noro. Don't let me down. I reappointed the four to be commanders to make sure their loyalty was rewarded…. but my trust in them is still low. You'll be my eyes and ears."
"Professor…. if I might suggest something…?"
"You wonder why I'm sending you and not Saunders? Because Saunders is busy with a project…. in case the Lancers do somehow get into our castle… our defences must be perfect. Now go, you will relay each instruction I send you!"
Leo walked down the steps from his throne podium and headed towards the doors. As he did, Noro stood up and saluted with a pale-white face and shaking lips.
"Yes…. sir!"

On top of the castle, Leo overlooked the remainder of the Fusion Dimension.
"Somewhere Yusho… you're there…. where are you now?" Leo clenched his fists and they glowed with the energy he gained from Elisa and Starving Venom. "I will find you!"
Leo now took out his purple duel disk and his eyes lit up with desire… desire to hunt.
Outskirts of Fusion
Yusho and Austin were sitting by an open campfire on logs. Behind them they had two green tents.
The two were deep within the jungle which could be found on the main island of the Fusion Dimension. The tall bushy trees easily hid any signs of the fire, making it a perfect hideaway for the two.
"I really hope you don't mind staying out here, Yusho." Austin said, looking deep into the fire.
"You kidding? On the run from an army… hiding out in a forest…. it's not my first choice of a holiday but you can't say it's not exciting!"
"As ever, Yusho, you try to make the worst case scenario into a positive."
"I understand that you used to go camping with your father in this same jungle… before he passed…. I guess I'm just trying to keep your mind occupied."
"You don't need to worry; surviving is what I do... and all I think about."Austin remained looking serious at the fire, his eyes not moving.
"Okay… so what do we do now?" Yusho replied.
"We wait for Kaiba, Reiji or whoever to save us…. we got the kids out of the school, that's all that matters."
Standard Dimension – Leo Corp – Reiji Office
"They never arrived here, Rin. As I told you, just Sora came back." Reiji answered back to a holoscreen in a concerned manner.
"But they went back through the same portal?!" Rin replied.
Reiji was alone in his old office and Rin was speaking to Reiji from the Synchro Dimension. Rin had contacted him to ask how the others were; just a few hours had passed since they left Synchro.
"We are running a scan across the four dimensions…. if they're not found, then we can assume there in Fusion since we won't receive any information from there. They're fully protected from any scans." Reiji added.
The door opened and in-stepped Kaiba.
"They're in Xyz. The portal somehow changed once Sora went through." Kaiba said to both Reiji and Rin.
"How?!" Rin panicked.
"We don't know. But we know which dimension their duel disks are in… but where exactly though…. we're not sure."
"Then I'm going!" Rin said.
"Wait! We can't be certain where they are, it could be bait!" Kaiba responded.
"Plus you need to help rebuild Synchro… we need that place for the final assault. We need the people to trust us."
"I guess… but we can't sit and do nothing…." Rin stuttered.
"We won't." Reiji replied, pushing up his glasses. "Because we will go to Xyz ourselves, don't worry, we'll contact you once we sort something."
"Okay…. just find them please." Rin replied before she hung up.
"Well of course you mean me." Kaiba said.
"No. I mean me." Reiji said as he looked out his window. The dome around the city had been repaired fully thanks to Reiji's return.
"You just escaped Fusion! I can't keep sitting in this building!"
"Then go for a jog or something!" Reiji slammed his hand onto the table. "Standard needs a genius here as well!"
"What about Austin and Yusho?" Kaiba replied.
"They are survivors…. we will get them out of there… somehow…" Reiji spoke in a lower, more depressed tone. "They saved us by dueling the guards in the school…. letting us escape…. we owe it to them."
"If they're still alive…"
"Yes… but as I said, they're survivors, they won't have lost to foot soldiers. Now we need to plan who we send."
