"Yuzar… is that… you?" Ray stuttered.
"That kid died the moment I was set free!" Ancient One said, clasping his hand.
"Died? What…?"
"Let me explain! He's gone, locked away! Academia allowed me to be in full-control!"
"So you're… Ancient One?!" Yuzu added.
"Yes, that's him…. Academia removed Yuzar and has put the dragon under control." Warrior said.
"How did they get a dragon under control?!" Samurai spoke who emerged next to Ray.
"That collar! It must be it!" Ray pointed out to Ancient One's neck.
Yuto could only watch as his eyes turned slightly purple. As he was standing behind the rest of them, the others couldn't see.
"Now we will duel, Ray! These humans will be make sure you don't escape!" Around the group were Academia soldiers all waiting to see a bloody fight.
"Fine! You dueled to save me when I was being used… I'll do the same to you!" Ray hit back.
"That was Yuzar, I'm not him!"
Ancient held out his arm and a blue duel disk with white spikes emerged from thin-air.
"Now, let's do this!" Ancient yelled.
"But wait….Dark Rebellion!" Warrior said looking at Yuto who was struggling to keep him down.
"I want him to see!" Ancient added.
"Yuzu, keep Yuto at bay… I'll handle this." Ray said.
"Yes… okay… we're right here if you need us." Yuzu added.
"Let's duel!" both yelled.
Turn 1

"Appear Ancient Magician!"A tall magician in purple robes appeared. She had a golden broach on her black hat which connected to the robes.

"And you use his deck?!"
"No. He used MY deck! My slaves from the original world! I play Foolish Burial Goods! I send a Spell or Trap from my deck to the graveyard! I send Ancient One Ritual."
"It's just like Yuzar… using his graveyard to its full potential…." Ray thought.
"I play the follow-up Spell Card, Ancient Retrieval! I bring back Ancient One Ritual from my graveyard to my hand and I draw again! Now I play Ancient One Ritual!" Yuzar said. "I tribute Ancient Magician to Ritual Summon!"
"Already?!"
A dark circle emerged around the dragon and Magician shot into it.
"Come forth Paladin of Ancient Dragon!" A sliver knight riding a scaly dragon with sharp purple edges on its legs was summoned.

"When Magician is used to Ritual Summon, I draw a card. Now comes the fun part! I tribute Ancient Dragon to summon myself from my deck!"
Ancient's eyes lit up and darkness glowed around himself.
"I summon myself, the mightiest of the dragon brothers!" A portal opened and from the sky thunder occurred. The dark blue dragon with blue orbs on its legs emerged. Ancient One was summoned.

"As Ancient One was summoned Yuto was screaming while holding his head.
"No! Stay out of me!"
"Yuto!" Yuzu bent down to hold his hand. Ancient One only smirked.
"I set one card! Your move!"

"Draw! I set En Spirit – Musashi and En Spirit – Yamauba in my Pendulum Zones!"
Above Ray emerged the two pillars. Inside one was a samurai from ancient Japan wearing his ropes and his hair was tied up. In the other was aged lady with long grey hair and leafs who surrounded her body.

"This isn't the deck you used? So you changed?"
"Yes I did! I got stronger… and these cards will bring you back, Yuzar!"
"Good luck with that!"
"I Pendulum Summon En Spirit – Tengu!"
En Spirit - Tengu ATK: 1800 DEF: 800 Light/Warrior/Spirit/LVL 4
""When Tengu card is Special Summoned I can add a Ritual Spell and Monster to my hand! I add Spirit Release and Spiritual Samurai! And next I Normal Summon En Spirit – Hangonko!" A black demon wearing a red jacket with a purple sash emerged while Hangoko was a purple mist which showed a human female in ancient Japanese clothing.

"Samurai? That fool?!"
"You'll regret saying that! Hangonko's effect! When she's Normal Summoned I flip over the top card of my deck and if it's an En Spirit, I can summon it with its effects negated! I draw!" Ray looked at the card and smirked. "Appear En Spirit - Makuragaeshi!" A blue male with long orange hair emerged. He had a toga on.
En Spirit – Makuragaeshi ATK: 1000 DEF: 800 Dark/Warrior/Spirit/LVL 3
"I use Spirit Release to Ritual Summon! I tribute Tengu and Makuragaeshi!" A blue circle formed around Ray and the two dissolved into it. "Ancient mystic warrior rises from your eternal rest and serves me again to fight against our adversary! Ritual Summon!"
A black samurai emerged with golden edges. It had two swords, one on its back and one stored by its side.
Spiritual Samurai 2500 ATK / 2200 DEF / Light / Level 7 / Warrior / Ritual
"Samurai's effect! I return all Monsters level four or higher to the hand!"
"Yes Ray!" Yuzu cheered as Samurai raised his sword.
"Pathetic, Fiendish Chain will stop you! This negates your effect and stops you attacking!"
"No!" Ray yelled as green chain shot from the ground and locked Samurai's arms downwards.
"I gain 300 attack for each level five or higher Monster on your field and graveyard!" Ancient yelled as his monster form roared.
Ancient ATK: 2800
"Sorry, Ray…" Samurai said.
"Ah, Samurai… I'd forgotten about you…. that's how little of an impression you made!"
"Forgotten? Was it not our side that stopped the dragons during the war?"
"Yes but alone you're weak!" Ancient replied.
"I end my turn with a facedown…. En Spirit – Hangonko returns to my hand since it's a Spirit Monster." As it returned Ray's Pendulums lit up.
"Now what's happening?!" Ancient yelled in shock.
"You didn't really think that was it, surely?" Samurai mocked.
"When a Spirit Monster returns to my hand via its own effect my two Pendulums activate! I can add a Ritual Spell from my graveyard or deck to my hand thanks to Musashi and Yamauba lets me add a Ritual Monster! I add a second Spirit Release and my upgraded Samurai… however now both Pendulums are destroyed."
Turn 3

Ray LP: 4000 Hand: 3
"I draw! I play Ancient Chains on myself!" The Spell unleashed golden chains around his Monster form.
"Now what?" Ray said with frustration.
"I attack!" Ancient declared as his Monster launched an intense dark blue beam. "Ancient Chains effect! The Monster which battles my Ancient Monster is destroyed and then by paying 1000 lifepoints, it can attack again!"
"No!"
Ancient One's chains shot off him and grabbed Samurai, pulling him into the ground.
"Ancient loses its attack boost but that's nothing… I pay 1000 lifepoints!"
Ancient One ATK: 2500
Ancient LP: 4000 – 3000
"Attack her directly!"
Ancient charged up another beam and all Ray could do is watch as it came. The blast hit her chest sending her across the ground.
"Ray!" Yuzu cried out.
Ray LP: 4000 – 1500
"This is insane; we have two ticking time bombs!" Gloria yelled out.
"I doubt they care." Luna added.
"Exactly!" Ancient replied as Ray got up. Yuzu was still watching out for Yuto who was still fighting to hold back Dark Rebellion.
"I end my turn!"
Turn 4

Ray LP: 1500 Hand: 3
Ray drew her card and looked at it with gritted teeth.
"You didn't get what you wanted?"
"A duelist can make almost any hand work, you taught me that!"
"Me? I don't recall anything regarding… oh wait… inside Yuzar's mind… Yes I see it now! When he came turned around to win in a very tricky final duel!"
"You can see inside Yuzar's mind?"
"Yes, he was me after all!"
"Then let him go at least!"
"We shared the same body due to the actions of your angels! He can't, he's never returning and that's that! .DEAD!"
"DON'T YOU DARE!" Ray yelled back. "Don't even waste your breath in lying to me! I use my Trap, Ritual Redemption! I shuffle a Ritual Monster in my graveyard and summon the materials I used to summon it with their effects negated. I return Samurai to summon Tengu and Makuragaeshi!"

"A higher level?" Ancient one gasped.
"Yes! I Ritual Summon level eight, En Spirit – Kenshin!" A samurai who wore blue and black robes emerged with a blue mask. He had two swords stored on his back.

"It doesn't matter as I gain 300 attack!" Ancient yelled as his Monster form powered up.
Ancient ATK: 2800
"So that's Ray's new Monster?" Yuzu questioned to herself.
"His effect lets me draw cards equal to the amount of Ritual Material I used but I have to shuffle one back to my deck!" Ray drew three and sent one back to her duel disk. "I play my Equip Spell! Spirit Bond! I equip to an En Spirit and for every Spirit Monster in my graveyard it gains 400 attack!"
Kenshin's sword glowed as Ray's Monsters all appeared and gave their energy to it.
Kenshin ATK: 4000
"4000?!" Ancient snarled.
"Now attack, Kenshin!" Ray yelled.
Kenshin's sword slashed across Ancient One Ritual Dragon causing the dragon within Yuzar's body to yell with a loud scream. He dropped to his knees while holding his shoulder.
Ancient LP: 3000 – 1800
"She beat it!" Yuzu cheered. As it was removed the pressure on Yuto's head eased.
"I end with a face down!"
"So you took down my main form? Fine… well done…. enjoy it…. it won't last!"
Turn 5

Ray LP: 1500 Hand: 1
"I draw!" Ancient yelled. He looked at it and smirked.
"NO!" Yuto yelled.
"What is it?" Yuzu replied.
"He's…. evolving!" Yuto yelled.
"I play Ultimate Ancient Offering! This Ritual Spell brings back Ancient One from my grave!"

"Ray!" Samurai appeared beside her. "Watch out…. he's… going to do it!"
"This allows me to tribute Ancient One and summon its evolved form! Ancient King Ritual Dragon!"
"Ancient King Ritual Dragon?!"
"I tribute myself to summon my much higher form! Reap hell!" A white dragon with golden amour around its body appeared. It had blue wings with black stripes.

"His evolved form…." Ray stuttered.
"King destroys all Special Summoned Monsters on the field except itself! Be gone Kenshin!"
Ancient King fired a dark blue and purple energy ball at the Ritual, wiping it away with a large blast which made everyone around the duelist to hold their ears.
"Fine! When Kenshin is destroyed it goes into my Pendulum Zone!"
Kenshin 10 –
"Regardless I gain 800 attack!"
King ATK: 3800
"End her!"
"Kenshin's Pendulum effect! By sending a En Spirit from my extra deck to the graveyard we will both take equal damage!"
"You can't!"
"I can!" Ray yelled.
Kenshin emerged and blocked the blasts from Ancient King, causing both to explode and a mass explode to occur in the middle of the field.
The explosion sent Ray and Ancient One flying in separate directions across the field. Yuzu, Luna, Gloria and Yuto all crouched on the ground as the fast wind from the blast zipped through the air.
Anicent LP: 1800 – 0
Ray LP: 1500 – 0
"Let's go!" yelled Luna who helped Ray up. She had been used to dust storms and had used them in the past to sneak away from Academia.
"Right!" Yuzu replied. She was able to help Yuto up who was near her.
"What about Gloria?!" Shingo replied.
"Leave her! Shingo with me!"
"No!" Ray stopped.
"Fine! It's your funeral!" Luna let go and ran forward, Shingo looked back and reluctantly followed Luna.
"Take Yuto, we'll get her!" Yuzu added. Luna rolled her eyes and agreed.
The two girls were able to see Gloria as the dust cleared, however that also meant so could the army.
The army had grabbed Gloria and were holding her down. Yuzu and Ray were then grabbed by Academia.
"Get off!" Yuzu yelled.
"Stupid humans!" Ancient One yelled. "Get after the Xyz Dragon as well!"
"No-one is going anywhere! I play Abyss Actor Smoke Screen!"
"Shingo?!" Yuzu said. "You're meant to have gone with Luna?!"
"Nah! This is much more exciting! GO!"
Around the field appeared smoke machines which emerged from the card. Heavy smoke funnelled through the street making everyone cough.
"Now!" Shingo yelled. The soldiers who were holding the three girls all had let due to the confusion.
"Yes!" Yuzu and Ray ran to Shingo and they were surprised but glad that Gloria was following them.
"Enough!" Ancient One yelled as a dark aura shot out of his body which cleared the smoke. His face was fuming. "FIND THEM NOW!"

The group reunited in another house a few streets away. Shingo knew the location and had presumed Luna had taken Yuto there.
"You're all fools." Luna said with crossed arms. "Saving that girl... nearly got you carded!"
In the corner Gloria had been handcuff to a pipe and had been gagged with a cloth.
"She came with us! Maybe... she can change." Ray said.
"I can't accept this... and Rio and the others won't either. We need to card her right here and now!"
"But you said-" Shingo tried to speak.
"That was before she dueled us!" Luna snapped. "I don't care if it fuels them... she's too dangerous!" Luna took her duel disk but Yuto grabbed her arm but Luna shook it off.
"Enough of this!" Yuzu yelled. She was about to stand in front of Gloria but Shingo was already doing it.
"MOVE!"
"Not a chance." Shingo said. "I know you and the Resistance treat me as a fool... well I am... but even I can see this is wrong!"
"This is why!" Luna replied. "She is Academia... she is a snake! I don't care if she wants to see her sister! Now move!"
"She's human as well and if her sister can change... so can she! You're becoming like Academia!"
"You're next!" Luna slapped her hand across Shingo's face, knocking him to the ground.
"Shingo!" Yuzu yelled.
"Think of Shark!" Shingo pleaded. Luna's arm shook as he mentioned that.
"Why?! Why do all this?! You're irrelevant in all this! You don't know us!"
"I've gotten to know you all since I've been here... I've seen you all slowly lose yourselves except you, Luna... you still have that heart... don't lose it!"
"... No! I have to..." Luna tried but she couldn't. She dropped to the floor and Gloria rolled her eyes.
Elsewhere
"Gloria is around here... somewhere..."
Grace looked around the empty street along with Reiji, Gongenzaka, Masumi and Reira.
"Be prepared for anything." Reiji said.
Heartland Tower
Noro looked at the computer as the signal showing Reiji and the others had arrived.
"So the boy came here?" Nora hit a button and a screen connected to Ryo. "Ryo... you wanted a top level target? Well... Reiji Akaba and his group have just arrived!"
"About time you said something useful."
Reiji
Behind Reiji and his group another portal begun to form.
"What now?!" Grace said.
"That's not fair!"
From within the light emerged Sora, he had also crossed over from Standard.
"Sora? Why are you here?" Reiji asked.
"Because... I'm the only one who understands Ryo... and he's coming for us, right this second."
