Chapter 5: Love and Thunder

The Mario family received an unusual surprise the last we saw of them with the delivery of King Toadstool's letter. With haste the four quickly prepared and headed off to Toad Town where Mushroom Castle lies. It's been a whirlwind of events taking place in the Mushroom Kingdom as of now. As the focus of the story now shifts to the Marios who knows what will happen next? The group having arrived at the city are in for a shocking revelation. Let us see what is going down in the Mushroom Castle...

"The Marios we've been expecting you." said a castle guard. "Right this way."

The guard led them through the castle to the upper floor area. The rulers are waiting for them in the castle observatory...

"Go right on in." said the guard as he opened the large double doors. "Your highnesses they have arrived."

The guard then returned to his normal duties...

"Welcome to Mushroom Castle Mr. and Mrs. Mario." said King Toadstool.

"We are pleased that you've come so quickly given the circumstances." said Queen Toadstool. "Thank you for bringing your children as well."

"That was quite a surprise we received your highnesses." said Mr. Mario. "Without a doubt we decided to come as soon as possible."

"I had a feeling when I first looked through our boys' eyes that they were special." said Mrs. Mario. "As you know Queen Toadstool that a mother's intuition is never wrong when come to children."

"You're right and your boys are more special than anything there has ever been here in the kingdom before." said Queen Toadstool.

"It has now come time to explain the truth about your sons Mario and Luigi." said King Toadstool. "Are you ready Mr. and Mrs. Mario?"

"Yes." said the duo in unison.

The king then went on to give a retelling of the recent events that have led up to this moment in time to the parents. Using magic given by the star spirits the couple could see the adventure of their children being projected from the observatory's ceiling. Mr. and Mrs. Mario were with disbelief of the birth then first ever adventure of their children being unfolded into their eyes. The king then went on to show the prophecy of the kingdom's future and the children's' involvement in it...

"After the prophecy's discovery I made a wish to the star spirits above to help find the heroes sketched within its page." said King Toadstool. "That's when the chief of Yoshi's Island informed me of their situation which led me to come find you."

"Without your children I fear when comes our daughter's time to reign the kingdom, your home, our world, will be destroyed." said Queen Toadstool.

"Well, what can we do?" said Mr. Mario.

"They're just babies." said Mrs. Mario. "It will be a long time before they can grow up and become the heroes they are destined to be."

"There is no doubt Kamek, and his army will try and come once again to kidnap your sons." said King Toadstool. "Our daughter will be protected by her own magic, but I can't say the same for your children."

"The Koopa's dark magic is far too powerful for even the star spirits to handle without some trouble." said Queen Toadstool.

"How long will we have until the Koopa clan comes after us all?" said Mr. Mario.

"That we do not know I am afraid." said King Toadstool. "If I know those evil creatures, we'll be hearing from them very soon.

"Could we somehow escape from them now?" said Mrs. Mario. "Go to a place where their magic could not find us?"

"Transporting somewhere like that would require a tremendous amount of magic." said Queen Toadstool. "Given how powerful Kamek is I am sure he would notice a large force of magic being used right away."

"Our best bet right now would be to wait until they come back again to attack." said King Toadstool. "That should give us an enough amount of time to come up with a plan to help you escape without being detected."

"In that case we will lay low until it comes time to help fight for the kingdom." said Mr. Mario.

"We were lucky enough to blessed with two wonderful children in the whole entire world." said Mrs. Mario. "Just not enough to give them a safe and normal childhood."

"The best gift a parent could ever give their child is love." said Queen Toadstool. "That is what keeps us together and can never ever be taken away by the forces of evil. Until we meet again Mr. and Mrs. Mario."

"I second that." said King Toadstool.

"Goodbye for now." said the duo.

And so, they headed on back home until the time will come for them to return. What waits for the Mushroom Kingdom next? We'll find out soon enough...

Author's Note: Yaa ha hoo! Chapter 5 is finally here. What a predicament we are in now am I right? I'm not going to say much because this Chapter was long and I'm already to see what happens next. I think it's time for a battle now don't you think? We met a bunch of characters and got to see their parts in the story unravel as of right now. Everyone who needs to know of the current situation has knowledge of it for the moment. I think it's ready, do you? Got to wait until Chapter 6 to find out. See you there
