Academia had arrived but waited an hour before sunrise. They didn't wish to be caught out by any traps which lay in wait from Ryo.
Ancient One heard a noise from the distance. His dragon hearing could easily pick up it.
"I hear at least twenty soldiers coming this way." Ancient One informed Leo.
"Good. Ryo is coming to gloat…. but don't underestimate him. He will make tactical errors but his power allows him to fight out of any corner." Marina replied.
"Let them come." Leo replied.
A few minutes later Ryo and the majority of his faction now faced up to Leo and his army on the road which led up to the coliseum.
"I'm pleased you finally came to check out my impressive empire, Leo." Ryo gloated.
"Yes you did a great job in nearly wiping everyone out." Leo replied.
"I have promised my army a free world. Xyz is ours to do with whatever we want!"
"Roget tried the same thing…. he failed!" Marina added.
"He failed as he had Security, the Council and Lancers…. the public… I only have the Resistance to crush and you!"
"You think you can beat our whole army?!" Edo yelled.
"You brought in two outsiders…. a Ritual and Xyz user…"
"And yet you use Xyz as well!" Shark snapped back.
"Yeah I do but you see…. I never truly brought into the whole "Fusion is the greatest" thing going on.. You knew this would happen, Leo but you were too scared to stop me!"
"You had that potential and I gave you the chance to take it… and you did! But you gave me results, Ryo so I looked the other way. I knew you would eventually become this so I've been ready!" Leo replied as he walked forward with his purple duel disk.
"Oh? You're going to duel me directly? Cutting to the chase, that's impressive! Fine, I'll end you first and your army will crumble!"
"I came to a world I felt that could respect me after Yusho Sakaki took my ideas… but I also found a world ruined by a war… I knew it was my duty to not only help rebuild it… but to allow the other worlds to be the same! However even if I were to die… my duty would've been fulfilled! The others will step up and continue our just cause!"
"You require the power of those Angels and Dragons…. you're worthless without them!"
"I know that but at least I'm realistic!" Leo yelled as his Academia duel disk activated.
"And I know my army can easily take down yours!" Ryo grinned as his duel disk also started.
"Let's duel!" both shouted.

"I summon Cyber Dragon Core!" A small robotic snake emerged.

"Since I control a Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon Vier can appear from my hand!" A small metallic serpent emerged glowing with a purple aura.

"I play Polymerization! I send all three Monsters to Fusion Summon! I need three Cyber Dragons and Core and Vier are treated as one! I Fusion Summon Cyber End Dragon!" Emerging from the Fusion spiral appeared a behemoth metal dragon with three heads, roaring with all a piercing scream.

"Then I draw! Witness, Ryo… this is how you truly lead! I set Tech Celestial Wise Magician andCelestial Tech Emperor Alexander in my Pendulum Scales!" Alexander was a warrior wearing a black militaristic outfit. Magician was dressed in purple robes; it had a half-human half-cyborg look.

"The Professor's deck, such an honour!" yelled Academia solider from the sidelines.
"Beat that traitor!" cheered a female.
"Come on Ryo!" shouted one of his followers.
"This is our land now!"
"It seems our armies are getting unsettled…." Leo calmly stated to Ryo.
"Yeah so hurry up and die!"
"I was already dying…. I don't intend to go back to that! I Pendulum Summon Tech Celestial Utopia and Kinmei!"Utopia had golden amour with shinning wings on the back but it had gears around its joints while Kinmei was a cyborg which sat on a throne.

"When Kinmei is Pendulum Summoned I add a Spell from my deck. I add Tech Celestial Fusion! Now I play Celestial Lock! This Continuous Spell means we have to send a card from our deck to the graveyard to attack and we can only attack with one Monster per Battle Phase!"
"Why on earth would you do that?!"
"Work it out, Ryo! I play Tech Celestial Fusion I fuse Kinmei and Utopia!" Both Monsters entered the whirlpool as Leo made the Fusion pose. "Come forth! Tech Celestial Augustus!" A grey-skinned dragon emerged with a robotic tail. It had red robot eyes along with a cybernetic chest-piece.

"Since I control a Fusion Monster, I can tribute it to take control of a Monster you control and it's treated as a Tech Celestial!" Meiji dissolved and it became energy which fired towards Cyber End.
"The Professor has won it in one turn!" yelled one of his students.
"Don't insult me!" Ryo replied back. "My Trap Cybernetic Prison! I banish a Cyber Dragon and for each Fusion Material, I banish a Monster you control until the End Phase the turn! Cyber End has three so I'm removing Augustus!"
"The Professor's Monsters… gone… just like that…." Edo said as all the Monsters vanished from the field.
"I play Tech Celestial Summon! This Spell allows me to summon one Monster from my Pendulum Zone then it's destroyed after battle! Appear Tech Celestial Wise Magician!"

"I send Tech Celestial Tech Celestial Neos from my deck to the graveyard to allow Magician to attack! Go!"Magician spun its staff and a charge fired from it, shocking Ryo to the ground.

Magician left the field after its battle. Ryo got up smirking.
"Just the jolt I needed!"
"And now our Monsters return to the field!" Leo returned.

"Your followers are as bloodthirsty as you, Ryo…" Leo observed.
"Aren't we all? But that's our difference! You hide away in a castle…. while I'm out here, fighting with my troops!"
"He was ill!" Marina defended.
"This guy…. you gained your followers just by saving the world…. well I'm the first to say, no more!"
"You always relied on me, Ryo. I showed you who you truly are!"
"I'm aware. You showed me what I could be like without my brother…. but now I've surpassed you! Academia is far too soft… the five dimensions don't need to merge! We can take all one by one! Your leadership is weak, Leo!"
"And you have no idea how things truly work!"
Turn 3

"Draw! I use Pot of Desires to banish ten cards facedown from my deck to draw two more. Now I equip Super Strident Blaze to Cyber End!"
Across the Fusion Dragon it gained steel armour with green energy flowing across it.
"This means you can't activate any effects or cards during the Battle Phase and now due to your annoying Spell, I have to send a card to attack from my deck! I send Cyber Dragon Hertz… Cyber End attacks your Tech Celestial Augustus!"
The three heads powered up a deadly charge in their mouths and fired them in one burst connecting as they struck Augustus.Leo shielded his eyes from the big blast.

"My Equip Spell's effect would normally allow me to attack a second Monster by banishing a Cyber Dragon but you no longer have any."
"Augustus will now join my Pendulum Scale!" Leo replied as his Fusion appeared alongside Alexander.

"Thank goodness." Marina said with relief.
"I end my turn with a face down."

"Then it's my move!" Leo drew.
"You have two scale eights… what can you do with that?!"
"Your small mind once again stops you, Ryo! You should know by now as one of my former Commanders that I always have a plan!"
"No one knows much about your deck since you barely do anything with it!" Ryo mocked back.
"Well I'm here now giving you a lesson! I will also play Pot of Desires!" Leo yelled as he drew two more. "Pot of Desires is a great card… and one only for Academia. It's a disgrace you use it when you want to cut ties with us!"
"Ryo doesn't have any honour!" Edo taunted.
"Who needs honour in a war…. these guys certainly don't!" Ryo replied as he pointed back to his soldiers. "Do it!"
The Academia soldiers behind Ryo all slammed Ancient Gear Monsters on their duel disks including Ultimate Ancient Gear Golems.
"What are you doing, Ryo?!" yelled Leo as the Ancient Gears came stomping towards him and his troops.
"I wanted to entertain you…. before crushing you all!"
"Coward!" Marina yelled. "Everyone run, including you, Professor!"
"Now you've truly lost any respect I had of you!" Leo snarled. He placed his arm out and it glowed purple.
"What… what are you doing?!" Ryo replied with an unusual stutter.
"I created Real Solid Vision… I am its master!" The energy Leo created dissolved the Ancient Gears.
"What… how?!"
"The power of the Angel and Dragon of Fusion!" Leo smirked.
"It doesn't matter! I'll kill you in this duel!"
"And I'll do the same to you! I use Pendulum Scale Shift! I Special Summon a Pendulum Monster from my graveyard with the same scale as one of my Pendulum Scales! And since I have two scale eights… I summon Neos!" A white alien warrior with a steel spike on its head emerged. It robotic plating on its chest.

"Then one of my scales is reduced by the summoned Monster's scale until the End Phase! Alexander drops to zero!"

"Amazing!" Marina cheered.
"Now I'm Pendulum Summoning! Return my servants!" Kinmei and Utopia shot out of the sky and landed before Leo.

"Neos allows me to Fusion Summon without a Fusion Card!" Neos was tributed but Ryo smirked.
"Then I use Dimensional Barrier and select Fusion Summoning! You can't do that this turn!"
"Another Academia staple!" Edo stated.
"I had a feeling Ryo! So I play Pendulum Power Storm! Your Monster loses attack equal to my lowest Pendulum Monster's attack however it's not destroyed in battle and Utopia must battle. Utopia has 2500 so Cyber End loses that amount!"
Cyber End ATK: 1500
"I send Tech Celestial Stardust Wyvern from my deck to allow me to attack!"
"You've been using that card to fill your graveyard so you can use them with your Pendulum Cards…." Ryo noted.
"About time you understood! Now Utopia!" The dragon fired an electrical spark attack at Cyber End, making it yell in pain while also sending Ryo to the ground.

"I end my turn! Was that all the shock you needed to beat me?!"
"You won't mock me for much longer!"
"You're down and out!" Ancient One yelled.
"Give it up!" Shark added.
"I won't have two outsiders tell me to give it up! You two will be next!"

"I DRAW!" Ryo clenched his chest as the pain begun to get to him.
"Ryo… are you okay?" asked one of his soldiers.
"Shut up! I play Ultra De-Fusion!"
"Of course he drew that…." Leo thought gritted his teeth.
"I see you're not happy! I pay halve of my lifepoints to return Cyber End back to the extra deck and in return I summon one its Fusion Materials."

"And then I summon a second one from my deck thanks to the Spell!"

"He's going to do it." Shark noted.
"I overlay!" Both turned into different auras and shot into the sky where a yellow portal appeared. "I Xyz Summon rank five, Cyber Dragon Nova!" A bigger Cyber Dragon emerged with black wings and a longer tail. It had a black chest piece in the centre.

"Now it's time to unleash this very special Monster! I can Xyz Summon again using Nova!" Nova fired into the sky as his troops looked in amazement as a slimmer Cyber Dragon emerged with a red aura. It had a black tail with yellow markings.
Cyber Dragon Infinity ATK: 2100 DEF: 1600 Light/Machine/Rank 6/OU 2
"So this is the Xyz Monster I've heard about…"
"But do you know enough?! Its first effect! I can add a Monster on your field to it as Xyz Materials! I add Augustus!" Augustusbecame an overlay unit which fired into Infinity.

"Now his attack goes up by 200 for each overlay unit!"

"Shark… do you know anything else about it?"Marina asked.
"No… Ryo always used these cards away from me… away from anyone except the duelist he was facing…. and their all cards now."
"I send Zwei to the graveyard to attack! Go Infinity!"
"It's not enough! I tribute Utopia to end the Battle Phase!"
"You fell for it! Infinity uses an overlay unit to negate the effect!"

"Direct attack!" Ryo roared as Infinity unleashed a fiery blast which hit Leo head on, causing his clothes to catch fire.

"Professor!" Marina and Edo yelled as they saw nothing but flames.
"He's dead! Leo Akaba is DEAD!"
"It's nothing but fire….. it can't hurt me anymore!" said Leo as he rose up. He spoke as if nothing had happened. The energy from his wrist dissolved the flames and repaired his clothes.
"Impossible…."
"The Angel of Creation and the Dragon of Destruction…. maybe you should've paid better attention!"
"How can you wield that power?!"
"I have… a past!"
"Whatever you freak! I end my turn!"

"Draw! I use Tech Conversion. This Spell lets me set a Monster in my graveyard in my Pendulum Scale!"
"Go ahead." mocked Ryo.
"He won't negate it?" Edo questioned.
"Then he's saving Infinity's effect for whatever Leo is building up to." Marina replied.
"I set Stardust in the other scale!" A bright white dragon with green wings appeared. It had a red robotic mask over one eye with a jetpack attached to its back.

"I just did! I fuse Neos and Kinmei! Appear Charlemange!"A king who wore a blue battle suit with a yellow cape emerged. Like the others, he had a robotic feature. This Monster had android eyes.

"Leo's won!" Marina yelled.
"I can't…."
"You haven't, Ryo." Leo added. "I need to teach you a lesson first!" Ryo was exasperated, he couldn't move. "I use Lock's second effect! By shuffling this card into my deck, I can add a Spell from my graveyard to my hand. I add Tech Celestial Fusion and play it!"
"He's… Fusion Summoning again?!" one of Ryo's troops said as he backed off.
"Run for it!" yelled another as they did just that. Leo nodded to his troops to chase after them including Ancient One and Shark. Marina and Edo stayed to see the end of the duel and Ryo who hadn't noticed his troops had left him.
"I can fuse a Monster on my field with a Pendulum Monster! Charlemange fuses with Alexander in my Pendulum Zone! It's time to kneel before the true emperor. Appear….. Celestial Tech Ultimate Ruler!" A bright beam shot down from the sky as a golden castle appeared. It was being circled around by small planets.

"5000….." Edo stuttered.
"His effect will prove a worthy end for someone who loves pain. It can attack directly and its effect cannot be negated!"
"A 5000…. direct attack?" Ryo looked up.
"Major pain isn't worth much if you lose!" Marina hit back with a clenched fist of joy.
"That's where your wrong…..!" Ryo roared. "If I'm going to lose…. I'll lose with what I love! The thrill of battle! Go on, Leo, DO IT!"
"You served me well, Ryo…. but you're a traitor and I won't give you what you want! Ruler!" Leo ordered. The planets all flew into the castle and it shone brighter than anything across the Xyz Dimension. The golden glow became an energy beam which struck the ground causing an earthquake to hit across the area. The beam slammed into Cyber Dragon Infinity, eradicating it and Ryo in a bright light.

Ryo lay injured on the ground while he was laughing.
"You coward!" he yelled as Leo walked towards him. He held out his duel disk and it begun to glow purple. Ryo then began coughing while also trying to catch air.
"Ryo?" Marina questioned.
"It's his heart…. the strain…. it's too much." Edo added. Leo kept walking towards Ryo but stopped as Ryo begun to turn pale.
"This is…. even better." Leo smirked. "You'll die not by battle but by the effects of battling… how weak… pathetic!"
"L… Leo? Are you sure?" Marina now started to look very uncomfortable with this idea as did Edo.
"Yes I'm very sure."
"It's just that you said… we should give you other views and he'll be much better being energy for us…."
"Once the utopia is born all the carded people die anyway…. you never had an issue with that before." Leo begun to walk off.
"Edo! Say something!" Marina elbowed him.
"He's made his mind up…. we have to follow it." Edo replied as he followed. Marina dragged slowly behind but she went back to Ryo as soon as Edo and Leo were out of sight.
"You better get yourself somewhere they can help you…." Marina whispered to the injured Ryo as she bent down and held out her duel disk.
"You're…a traitor….. not bad…." said a weakened Ryo. Marina looked away and hit her duel disk button, making Ryo vanish.
Resistance Base
As Academia had fought against Ryo's faction, the Resistance and Lancers had been sleeping. They had just started to get up as normal until they heard Anna run down the stairs from her guard duty.
"Everyone move!" Anna yelled. "This isn't a drill!"
"What… is it, Anna?" Rio replied.
"It's…. it's….."
"Out with it?!" Shun yelled.
"It's Academia isn't it." Ruri added.
"Not just that…. it's a whole army facing the base…. with Leo!"
"Leo?!" Yuto shouted along with Yuya.
"With Shark…."
"And Yuzar…." Rio and Ray both said.
"But we have defences, right?" Shingo spoke.
"They know that but they look… confident." Anna replied.
Yuzu had not gotten up or even moved, she remained with the covers over her but no one had noticed as they had more important issues however she felt a tingle alongside Ray, Yuya and Yuto.
"EVERYONE MOVE!" Yuya yelled at the same time as a bright flare struck the roof, exploding right before them in the base.
