Boistrous Soul
Chapter 3: The Hero's Journey Begins

The group felt something slam into the side of the ship, sending a tremor through the vessel and staggering them.

"What was that!?" Mineta asked in a panic

"One of the villains most likely, we're a huge disadvantage here," Wind answered as he grabbed the railing to support himself.

Midoriya's brow furrowed as he went over their situation "Wind is right… as we are we're outnumbered and likely outclassed. They would've sent water-based villains to the shipwreck scene, and we only have Asui."

"Midoriya," Asui walked up to him, aware of the fact he was lost in thought.

He looked up as he came back to reality "What is it Asui?" he asked.

She shook her head "Call me Tsuyu. I was wanting to know what you're thinking. From what I've seen you can analyze quirks quickly and come up with strengths and drawbacks, were you doing that just now?"

Midoriya nodded, "I know your quirk is that you're like a frog, and that's the only water-based quirk we have right now,"

She nodded, "Right. My quirk lets me swim like a frog, and I can launch my tongue out like one too to grapple people and objects. I can also take my stomach out and clean it, though that's not as important right now."

Midoriya's brow furrowed again as he looked down "That's what I thought…"

"What about the rest of you?" Wind asked, as he stood up straighter from against the railing.

"What?" Mineta asked as they all turned to him.

"Your quirks, if Midoriya can analyze them like Tsuyu says he can, he'll need more information. What can you do?"

Mineta looked to Uraraka and she looked back at Midoriya. "I can make objects float as if there wasn't any gravity, but only if I touch them with the pads on my fingers. I can only do a few objects at a time and if I hold it for too long I get nauseous,"

The group turned to Mineta, "My quirk lets me create these balls from my head," Mineta took one of the large, spherical growths off his head as he explained.

"I can stick them to walls or people, and everything other than me gets stuck to them when they touch them. I bounce off though, and I can only pull so many in a short time or my head starts bleeding,"

Midoriya was nodding to himself as he analyzed the quirks in his mind.

"And you manipulate wind, right?" He asked turning to Wind.

"Right, though I lack in finer control. My strength lies in putting out massive bursts of wind that can knock things over and blow people away. My master's name is Tornado because he can conjure winds as strong as one, but I'm not there yet. He can also do things like manipulate air currents to carry objects or people, turn invisible by moving the water in the air, and on one occasion I've seen him create a vacuum for a brief moment, but it took a lot out of him to do that,"

"Can you do any of that?" Midoriya asked.

"In theory, but I've never actually attempted it before."

Midoriya put his hand on his chin as he considered this new information "It seems Wind's abilities are like mine with One for All, my powers are just weaker versions of All Might's, like his are weaker versions of Tornado's. He seems to have better control over his output than I do though as he doesn't injure himself, just tires quickly,"

The ship shook again as another villain slammed into it.

"Do you have any ideas?" Wind asked Midoriya.

"I think so," Midoriya looked up as he reviewed everyone's abilities one last time.

"Wind, can you create a wall with your abilities?"

"Uh… I think so? I've never tried before, but I could stop air flow in a large area and create a wall that blows back anything that tries to pass through,"

"That will work, here's my plan." Midoriya brought everyone in for a huddle to discuss his strategy.

Meanwhile, down in the water, the villains that had been sent to observe the shipwreck scenario in the initial attack were waiting on the students.

"Geez, these kids sure are taking their time. Do they think they have a chance or what?" One asked.

"Not after those rams, the ship's going down. They'll need to decide to go down with it or try to escape. And then they come right to us," another replied with a malicious grin.

At that moment they all saw Midoriya float over the water. He aimed his finger down into the waves and at the villains.

"What's he doing?" The second villain asked.

Midoriya's finger began to glow as he yelled "Smash!"

A blast of compressed air flew into the waves and created a massive gap in the water.

"Wind! Mineta! Now!" Midoriya shouted.

Wind held out his hands and the air around the water flowed down into the gap and held it there like a damn, the current create by the water trying to flow in slammed the villains into the wall, pinning them.

Mineta began to tear and throw his growths off rapidly, sticking them to the villains who in turn trapped their hands as they tried to remove them.

"Now!" Midoriya cried.

Wind, who had begun to tremble with the effort of maintaining his wall, gasped as he let his arms drop. The water suddenly crashed inward without the walls to stop it. The villains were sucked into the tide and launched into the air as the two waves crashed together.

While that was happening, Uraraka launched herself off the ship and caught Midoriya. Tsuyu grabbed Mineta and launched herself as well, wrapping Wind in her tongue as she left. The five of them flew through the air and over the turbulent waters, landing safely on the shore.

"That was a good plan Midoriya!" Mineta shouted as they landed.

"Yeah, that went off without a hitch." Midoriya was grinning through the pain of his broken finger as he replied.

"You may want to get that bandaged until someone can get a better look at it," Wind told Midoriya as he ripped off some of cloak. He wrapped Midoriya's hand to keep it still.

"C'mon, we need to get out of here before the villains catch up to us," Uraraka said as she turned toward the entrance.

"You're really cool, y'know that?"

The group froze and turned to see the leader of the villains walking towards them. Behind him was Aizawa, pinned to the ground by a massive, bird-like person.

"No way… they took out Mr. Aizawa?!" Midoriya's mind was racing as he took in the scene.

"Wind Blast!"

The leader held up his hands as he resisted the massive burst of wind that came at him.

Wind was holding up a hand, panting with the exertion.

"Wind!" Midoriya shouted.

"You get out of here, I'll hold him off,"

"But, you've got to be running out of energy by now!"

"I said go!" Wind shouted at them.

The others took a half step back in surprise.

Wind lifted his other hand and his spear appeared in it. He wrapped both hands around the handle and slammed it into the ground to support himself. His breathing was heavy and he was sweating profusely.

"He can't keep this up," Midoriya thought to himself.

"Nice trick kid, but you don't look like you can do it again!" The Leader shouted as he sprinted towards them.

He reached out for Wind with one hand while the others were caught by surprise. Time seemed to slow as they all watched The Leader reach for Wind.

Then, in an explosion of dust, the door to the building came flying inward, landing near Aizawa and the group.

Everyone stopped to look at the source, and saw All Might walking into the building. His face was fixed with a scowl.

"There's no need to worry anymore. Because I am here," he said, the normal smile he wore was gone.
