"Doctor," Arthur whispered, so afraid as many Cybermen walked at them.
The Time Lord quietly patted the blonde's hair. Right now, all he ever wanted is to get Sunny out of this place. "Cybermen in broad daylight? You think people won't notice?"
Yet people noticed, and they still took out their smartphones to take the photographs. Missy unpins her hat and puts it on the ground at Cyberman's feet. "Photos with the big metal men, one pound." She smiles as several coins are thrown into her hat. "Oh, honey! New York. Paris. Rome. Marrakesh. Brisbane. Glasgow. Everywhere. Anywhere. Me and my boys. We're going viral."
A woman with round glasses and a nice bow tie approaches them. "Would you like me to take a picture? Sorry, selfies are never as good, are they? And you're having a lovely moment. Hang on!" She took Missy's phone. The Doctor grabs Missy's arm and Arthur grabs Missy's legs so she can't move around.
"Love the bow tie," Arthur complimented.
"Thank you. Bow ties are cool." She winked. "Big smiles, and now!"
All of sudden, soldiers come out of the buildings on both sides. Several people on the street suddenly grab some guns. Once the scene is secure, a blonde woman walks up holding something behind her back.
"Afternoon," she called. "You've picked a lovely day for it. My, don't you look shiny." She looks at the Doctor and Arthur. "Haircut?"
"Bit of a trim," he shrugged.
"Might want to do your roots. Nice hair, Arthur."
"Uhm, thanks," he replied. He knows her too, then.
"Stay close to Osgood," the Doctor suggested to him.
"The woman," she ordered one of the soldiers. Soon Missy is held by two soldiers while Arthur is standing behind Osgood so Missy won't see him often. The woman glances at the serried ranks of Cybermen. "Kate Stewart," she introduced. "Divorced, mother of two, keen gardener, outstanding bridge player. Also Chief Scientific Officer, Unified Intelligence Taskforce, who currently have you surrounded."
"Human weaponry is not effective against Cyber technology," a Cybermen declared.
"Sorry, you left this behind on one of your previous attempts," Kate throws down a battered, different Cyberman head's model. "So now that I have your attention, welcome to the only planet in the universe where we get to say this," Kate gestured to the Doctor. "He's on the payroll."
"Am I?" The Doctor frowned.
"Well, technically."
"How much?"
"Shush. Any questions?"
Then, all Cybermen thump the blue disc in the middle of their chests and stamp their feet on the ground. Dust is blown everywhere as little engines in their feet start up. A soldier ordered everyone to stand back. The Cybermen zoom up into the air, and out of sight.
Osgood turns around to see the lead covering of the dome of St Pauls peeling back like a Chocolate Orange. "Oh, my God! Is it supposed to do that? Is that new?"
"A sun roof on Saint Paul's?" The Doctor elaborated. "Yes, I'd say that was new."
"There's going to be mass panic. Everyone in London can see that," Kate noted as more Cybermen fly out of the dome.
"91 Cybermen," Arthur counted. Everyone just stared at him. "I'm counting," he explained.
"How could Saint Paul's be full of 91 Cybermen and nobody noticed?" Kate wondered.
"Sunny?" The Doctor looks at him.
"Ehm… Dimensional engineering?" The boy guessed. "One space folded inside another?"
"Bingo!" The Doctor agreed. "Bigger on the inside. Easy if you're a Time Lord."
"Mostly deploying south, a smaller number east," Osgood added.
"Yep, but one straight up."
"So 91 isn't a coincidence?"
"Of course it isn't," he noted and took Missy's phone from her.
"Osgood?" Kate called. "91. Explain."
"91 areas of significant population density in the British Isles."
"That's one Cyberman for every city and major town," Arthur remarked.
"It's happening everywhere, all over the world, right now," the Doctor finished.
"Sweet planet, this. I think I might keep it," Missy commented.
Suddenly Arthur's head starts throbbing. "Oh, not now," he begged.
"One Cyberman per city. What could they hope to accomplish?" Kate asked.
"Doctor!" Osgood called him, noticing Arthur's pain expression. Before she can speak more, all Cyberman that flew straight up has detonated itself.
"Has it exploded?"
"More than that," Missy answered. "Cybermen don't just blow themselves up for no good reason, dear. They're not human."
"If it's not exploding, what's it doing?" The Doctor asked as he's taking Arthur from Osgood.
"Pollinating. Falling like rain into the cracks of the Earth."
His head is getting more and more painful. He can hear some tiny voices that hurt his ears a lot. It's so painful, like he'll explode into tiny pieces if he can't stop this. Why is this happening to him?
"Sunny," the Doctor quietly said. "You must jump now. You can't stay in this timeline."
"What… why…?"
"Because of the danger. Missy's existence at this time can cause problems in your future. She might have told you something that you shouldn't know. We can't let that happen, Sunny. Your head and ears are hurt because it's basically warning you to jump now." He gently kissed his forehead. "So jump now."
"But what about…"
"I can handle this. You know I can. Clara and Claudia are smart girls, they can survive this. Don't worry about us. Just leave."
Arthur gripped his hands closer to the Doctor's shoulders, ready to jump. He can feel his body slowly getting relaxed and the pain slowly stops happening. As the light enveloped his body, the last thing he saw before jumping was the Doctor's face and the sky's getting darker than ever.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
In Karn, as the sky's dark and the surrounding rocky is the same as usual, Ohila, leader of the Sisterhood of Karn, stands still, looking at the new visitor without fear. "Welcome, Colony Sarff. We are the Sisterhood of Karn. If you do not leave our world immediately, we will take your skin."
"Where is the Doctor?" Sarff demanded.
"Where he always is. Right behind you, and one step ahead. Tread carefully when you seek the Doctor, Colony Sarff, or he will be the last thing you find."
"Davros, creator of the Daleks, Dark Lord of Skaro."
"What of him?"
"Davros is dying."
"Davros is ancient. He should have been dust centuries ago."
"He has a message for the Doctor."
"Then you will give it to me," Ohila commented, rolling her eyes at Sarff's attempt to turn into his actual form. "Your powers mean nothing here. Give me the message and leave."
"Tell the Doctor, 'Davros knows. Davros remembers.' Tell him he must face Davros one last time. 'Davros knows. Davros remembers.'"
When Sarff's gone, Ohila turns around, looking at the Doctor and Arthur. "Doctor, what have you done?"
The Doctor doesn't see her eyes. His hand is still gripping Arthur's since he landed in Karn a few minutes ago. No words ever spoken out from his mouth. The boy simply observed.
Ohila steps closer to the duo. "He has asked to see you. His servants seek you everywhere. Will you go?"
"No."
"Why do you always lie?"
"Why do you always assume I'm lying?"
"It saves time. The truth, will you go?"
"No."
"When?"
"Soon."
"Why?" She glances at Arthur. Judging from his face, he doesn't know what happened. But Ohila won't be surprised if he can figure it out. "Did something happen?"
The Doctor stares down at the boy's fingers. She knows little about the boy's connection to the Doctor, but he's most certainly very important for the old Time Lord. "No."
"Was it recent?"
"Yes."
"Whatever it was, you owe that creature nothing," Ohila empathized, needing this Time Lord to understand the consequence of leaving Arthur Jonas–the Explorer–alone without a guide.
"He and I've known each other a long time," the Doctor shrugged.
"You've been enemies for all of it."
"An enemy's just a friend you don't really know yet." He stopped for a moment, sighing, looking at Arthur. "Sorry. Was that me being cynical again, Sunny?"
"Kinda," the boy replied, concerned, yet saying little. "But you're gonna face something, so being cynical isn't a surprising thing."
"Aren't we friends, Doctor?" Ohila pondered.
"That's different. I don't like you!" He remarked.
She chuckles. "Which means you can trust me."
The Doctor stares down at the metal disc. "You know who to give that to?"
"You know the boy is capable of holding it."
"No. I won't give it to him or any versions of him."
"And your family?"
The Doctor stands up and lifts Arthur. "I won't go straight away," he said instead. "I'll hang out for a bit. Probably meditate on a rock somewhere. Get myself ready. Probably teaching one or two things with Sunny."
"You are embarking on an enterprise that will end in your destruction."
"You could say that about being born."
"Wherever you go," Ohila continued. "There are people who care enough to find you."
"Look after the universe for me," he told her instead and started walking away. "I've put a lot of work into it."
"Anyone can hide from an enemy, Doctor. No one from a friend."
The Doctor doesn't say anything as he's taking Arthur with him, away from the cave.
"Where are we going?" Arthur asked as they're inside the Tardis.
The Doctor stares at the console. "Somewhere we can meditate."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Which is why, right now, both the Doctor and Arthur are sitting on the floor, closing their eyes, meditating.
Arthur hears footsteps getting louder. He opens his eyes and Bors is already in their private room.
"How many days have we been here?" The Doctor asked.
"About three hours."
"Three hours?"
"Well, nearly," he shrugged.
"Maybe Clara's right," the Doctor mumbled, taking a goblet. "She keeps telling me I've got Attention Deficit, er, something, or other."
Bors stares at him and Arthur. "What is your journey?"
"You can't come with me, Bors. Even Sunny can't."
"I'm pledged to your service ever since you saved my life."
"You had a splinter," Arthur remarked, taking a drink from the Doctor. It tastes horrible.
"Where is it you go? Why your son cannot come with you? And why must you meditate first?"
"Someone I know is very sick. He'll want to see me before," he paused, "while there's still time. And I'm his caretaker, Bors. Not his father."
"An old friend?"
"More like an old enemy," Arthur clarified and took out his diary from his jacket's pocket, writing down his adventures.
"If there is danger, let me ride at your side," Bors insisted.
"You can't help me, not where I'm going. I have to get myself ready. I have to be alone. I have to think. No more distractions."
"But your son…"
"He needs to study."
"Of meditating?"
"Yes. Of meditating."
Bors shook his head. "As you wish, Sir Doctor."
The Doctor takes another drink from the goblet. "Urgh. Hang on a minute," he called Bors, standing up. "The water."
"The water, sir?"
"I don't like it. I can't meditate properly without decent water."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Outside the castle, peasants are following the Doctor and Arthur with shovels. "We're going to dig a well!" The Doctor announced. "Right on, er, this spot. There will be excellent water here."
"How'd you know?" Bors asked.
"Oh, I'm very good at water."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Day 5
"This is definitely a good spot for water," the Doctor insisted while Arthur's sitting on a rock, reading River's research papers about new artifacts on Mars.
"But this is the twelfth place you've made us dig," Bors recalled.
"Well, twelve is my lucky number."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Day 12
Bors draws a bucket of water. Arthur took his drinking bottle and filled the waters in. "Well, you've all the water you need now and it is the finest in the land. Your meditation can begin."
"Yes, I suppose it can," the Doctor agreed as Arthur finished filling the bottle and ready to drink the rest of the water in the bucket. "Except."
"Except?"
"Do you know what this well really needs?"
"Nothing. It's perfect."
"A visitor's centre."
Bors let go of the rope, not bothering if he didn't get Arthur the chance to drink.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Day 17
The Doctor's making coins disappear from his hands whilst sitting in a deck chair by a campfire and Arthur's keep checking on some of his homework the Doctor told him to do, when Bors walks up to the older alien. "Everyone has agreed on the plan for the throne room extension, but we're not quite sure what you mean by a sunroof."
"Look at this coin. You see it?"
Bors looking at the coin while putting down his armful of scrolls. "I see it."
The Doctor waves his hands about. "Where is it now?"
"There."
"No, it isn't."
"Yes, it is. I saw it."
"Are you sure? I'm really a very good magician."
"What is it you dread?"
"Why would I dread anything?"
"You're always making jokes. You never sit still, like you're running in fear of days to come."
The Doctor gave a quick glance to Arthur. "I thought you were an idiot," he commented.
"I know. I thought that too."
"Good. I was worried I would have to break it to you."
"Aaand done!" Arthur said, finishing his homework. "Now can anyone show me the new bedroom? I'm tired."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Day 21
"Face me, Magicians! Face me!"
"Ready?" The Doctor asked. "One… two… three!"
As the smoke releases, The Doctor and Arthur enter under the portcullis on a tank, playing rock guitar and wearing sunglasses. The crowd cheered, clearly loved it. Arthur finishes the riff a la Marty McFly from the first Back to the Future.
"Dude! What is that?" Bors demanded.
"You said you wanted an axe fight. Oh, come on. In a few hundred years, that'll be really funny. It's a slow burner."
"A musical instrument is not an axe."
"Yes, and a daffodil is not a broadsword, but we still won the last round!"
The crowd cheers.
"What do you think of our tank? Don't worry, it isn't loaded. Sunny makes sure of it."
"I don't like it."
"No, neither do I. I bought it for Sunny's fish."
"Your son's fish?" Bors frowned.
"I may have ordered online!" He implied, but only earned a complete silence. "Oh, come on. Fish? Tank? Honestly, this stuff will be hilarious in a very few hundred years. Do please stick around. And remember, I'm Sunny's nanny."
From a distance, Arthur can hear Clara's voice. "What's the matter with him? He's never like this."
"He's losing it. That, or he wants to play with Arthur. Both work," Claudia replied.
The Doctor looks up at the ramparts, directly at both girls while Arthur waves at them despite tense when looking at Missy. Then, to prove they know they're here, he plays the opening of Pretty Woman. "Now, you lot. Me and Sunny have been here all day, and it's been a great day!"
"You've been here for three weeks," Bors reminded him.
"Three weeks?" He looked at Arthur again. The boy nodded, confirming Bors' words as the truth. "It must be nearly bedtime. Well, we've partied." They all cheer. "Yes! I helped you dig a well, with a first-class, child-friendly visitor's centre! I've given you some top-notch maths tuition in a fun but relevant way. And I have also introduced the word 'dude' several centuries early. Let me hear you!"
"Dude!"
"Are you a Renaissance?"
"Dude!"
"Are you a Medieval?"
"Dude!"
"I am a dragon-slaying?"
"Dude!"
"We are all the young?"
"Dudes!"
"I like it. But I've got some sad news for you, dudes. Tonight, I'm going to have to leave you."
"Nooo!" All the crowd–and Arthur–responded.
"But before I do, I'd like you to meet a couple of friends of mine."
They applauded and cheered. Arthur smiles, beaming as Claudia and Clara enter the courtyard and waves.
"How did you know we were here? Did you see us?" Clara wondered as she hugged Arthur.
"When do I not see you?" He asked back.
"Valid point," Claudia agreed as Arthur hugged her now. "Nice guitar."
"I made it. Like it?"
The bluenette hums as she lets go of the hug. "Well, now I know who's gonna play songs at my wedding."
Clara nudges her. "Too early!"
Without wasting time, the Doctor hugs them.
"Okay," Clara mumbled, surprised. "And we're doing hugging now, too. I can't keep up."
"Well, you know what they say. Hugging is a great way to hide your face."
"Doctor," Claudia pulls back, looking straight at him. "What's going on? What is all this? Don't tell me you're having a mid-life crisis."
"I spent all day yesterday in a bow tie, the day before in a long scarf," he waves off. "It's my party, and all of me is invited."
Noticing Missy enters as well, Arthur hides behind the Doctor's legs. "What the hell are you up to, man?" She asked.
"It's the wicked stepmother! Everyone hiss!" The Doctor stated and soon the crowd hissed.
Missy bows and flourishes her handkerchief, not even bothering. "Apparently, you think you're going to die tomorrow."
Arthur looks up and spots something on Claudia's hands. The metal disc that the Doctor gave to Ohila, back at Karn.
"Well, I've got some good news about that," he responded.
"Oh, yeah?"
"It's still today!"
"Oh, that's very good."
Arthur hears a choking sound. His eyes widened when Bors' hands held his neck. "Doctor!"
"Is it a marble again?" The Doctor asked as he stepped closer. "Did you swallow one of the marbles I gave you? Don't swallow marbles!"
He pulls a banded snake from around Bors' throat. Arthur yelped, stepping back with absolute terror in his face while his hand covers his trembling mouth. The Doctor quickly throws it away. It slithers under the robes of a familiar being from Karn.
"Doctor," Sarff's called. "Your friends have led me to you. You will come."
"Says you and whose army?"
Arthur closed his eyes as Clara held him from behind. His breath got harder as he heard a hissing sound from Sarff's.
"Nobody dies here!" The Doctor demanded. "Not one person, not one of my friends, do you understand?"
"Davros, creator of the Daleks, Dark Lord of Skaro, is dying."
"So I hear."
"He would speak with you again on the last night of his life."
"Then you will harm nobody in this place. Not one person. Are we very, very clear?"
"Are you so dangerous, little man?" Sarff challenged him.
"You want to know how dangerous I am? Davros sent you. You know how stupid you are? Huh! You came!" He mocked and Sarff hissed. Arthur clenches his hands at Clara's shirt, still afraid to open his eyes. "Is that supposed to frighten me? Snake nest in a dress? Now, explain, politely. Davros is my arch-enemy. Why would I want to talk to him?"
"No, wait, hang on a minute," Missy interjected. "Davros is your arch-enemy now?"
"Hush!"
"I'll scratch his eye out."
"Davros knows. Davros remembers."
Sarff throws something to the ground near the Doctor. Curious, Arthur opens his eyes, realizing it as a sonic screwdriver.
"That's yours," Clara realized.
"Er, it was," the Doctor sheepishly replied.
"Was?" Claudia repeated.
"I don't have a screwdriver any more."
"Ooo. Never seen that before," Missy pointed out. "Doctor, the look on your face. What is that?"
Clara looks at the Doctor's face who looks… "Shame. You're ashamed." Her eyes dart at Arthur who doesn't understand what's going on. "Doctor? What have you done?" And why are you avoiding Arthur's eyes? She wanted to ask but couldn't.
"Is your ship in orbit?" The Doctor asked Sarff, giving a 'don't interrupt' gaze at Clara and Claudia.
"It's a trap," Missy warned.
"Prepare yourself for teleport," Sarff stated.
"Doctor, listen to me. I know traps, traps are my flirting. This is a trap."
"I am prepared."
"You sent the blue girl your confession dial. You threw yourself a three week party. You know what this is."
"Yes. Goodbye." He sighs, looking at Clara and Claudia. "Goodbye, girls." Then at Arthur.
"No," Arthur insisted, trying to remain calm despite his anger and aggravation moving in his emotion. "You can't die here. You can't."
"Sunny–"
"You can't die here! I met another you, a future you! You can't just expect me to let you die for nothing! You haven't told me everything! You promised me you would!"
"Time can be rewritten," the Doctor reasoned, needing him to understand his choice so this won't end with bitter taste.
"Don't you dare," Arthur seethed. "Don't you dare say that. I don't want to. Not like this." He closed his eyes. "Take me too."
"We're coming with him. Three of us," Clara joined as she, Claudia, Missy, and Arthur hold their hands behind their backs
"No! No, no, no!" The Doctor rejected. "Under no circumstances!" He stares at Sarff. "What are you doing now?"
"Voting. We are a democracy. It is agreed."
"No, no, no! I forbid it, no! No! No! No! No!"
▪︎▪︎▪︎
"How long have we been waiting?" Clara asked as they all inside a space-station Arthur's not familiar with.
Though he tried to ignore the snake wrapped around his wrist behind his back, Arthur couldn't help but feel annoyed whenever he heard a snake hiss or a wrist sensation. He finally tried to focus on the lyrics to the Ed Sheeran song that Doctor had played at the Tardis with Ryan and Graham.
"Who knows?" The Doctor shrugged. "It's always the way with hospitals."
The cabin door opens and Sarff glides in. "You will come," he stares at the Doctor and Arthur before doing so with Missy, Claudia, and Clara. "You will stay."
"Fair enough."
"Doctor," Claudia called, glancing at the door behind her. "You sent me your confession dial. Why?"
He let Arthur move first and simply whispering, "Gravity."
"I know," Missy and Claudia replied.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Colony Sarff guides the Doctor and Arthur into a chamber.
"Doctor? Explorer?"
Arthur spots an older man sitting on a platform that's similar to the Daleks. He's hooked up to a lot of tubes, with his head resting on one hand. "Doctor. Explorer," he greeted.
"Davros," the Doctor coldly called.
"I approve of your new face, Doctor. So much more like mine. And I appreciate the young face you have, Explorer. Colony Sarff, untie our guests' hands."
Sarff glides past the Doctor's and Arthur's back, taking the snake away with him. Arthur never felt relieved now.
"You may leave us," Davros ordered and Sarff obeyed. "You came, then. You and the boy."
"Clearly," the Doctor grumbled.
"Did you suspect a trap?"
"I still do."
"Then why are you here? Did you miss our conversations? Or did you want the young Explorer to learn?"
Then, from a small wall screen, clips of memory playing.
A man with a long, colourful scarf spoke. "If you had created a virus in your laboratory…"
A man with straight, blonde hair and blue eyes, yelled. "I'm not here as your prisoner, Davros…"
A short man with a panama hat said. "Unimaginable power! Unlimited rice pudding!"
Then, a man with sticky, brown hair, whispered. "Everything we saw. Everything we lost…"
Finally, a curly haired-man with a rainbow jacket, denoted. "But did you bother to tell anyone they might be eating their own relatives?"
"Yes, yes, yes, okay, you've made your point!" The Doctor interjected.
"Have I?" Davros challenges and presses another clip. A man with a long, colourful scarf speaks again.
"If someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you, and told you that that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator, who would destroy millions of lives, could you then kill that child?"
The Doctor turns off the recordings. "I get the point," he said with a dreadful tone.
"Do you know why you came, Doctor?" Davros' eyes still close, yet Arthur can sense his stare towards him. "You have a sense of duty. Of guilt, perhaps. And certainly of shame."
"You flatter me."
"Pity. I intended to accuse. I believe that for the ultimate good of the universe, I was right to create the Daleks."
"You were very wrong," he snarled, thinking of so many deaths because of the Daleks. Of what happened at the Crucible many years ago.
"This is the argument we've had since we met," Davros lamented.
"It ended in the Time War."
"It survived the Time War. But it will end tonight. That is why you are here. That is why the Explorer is here."
"What do you mean by that?" Arthur demanded. What did Davros know about him to even bring him here with the Doctor? Why did the Doctor look worried whenever Davros talked about it?
Before he can ask more, an alarm is playing.
"It seems your friends have gone exploring."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Meanwhile, Clara, Claudia, and Missy stand in the open airlock. Missy puts her arm out while Claudia scans their surroundings using her sonic pen that she kept on her sling bag.
"It's warm, isn't it?" Missy pointed out. "For deep space, anyway."
"What are you doing?" Clara asked, addressing the two of them.
"Treading softly."
Clara steps out cautiously onto nothing visible with the bluenette, hand still holding hers. "What, there's a floor?"
"More like the ground," Claudia clarified, stepping out as she's scanning, frowned when she can't check the result. "Which means… this is a fake."
"We're on a planet," Missy revealed. "And that is not a space station. That is a building. And the rest of the planet, the whole thing, is invisible."
"Not sure to feel impressed or ridiculous," Claudia admitted. "Still…"
"Why would anybody hide a whole planet?" Clara finished.
"That would rather depend on the planet, dear."
The space station is revealed to be just one of many similar shaped buildings on a desert planet. While Claudia and Clara just look in wonder, Missy looks mortified.
"No."
▪︎▪︎▪︎
"No!" The Doctor reacted as the buildings were all visible from the window. He glares at Davros. "Skaro! You've brought us to Skaro."
"Where does an old man go to die, but with his children?" Davros denoted as the Doctor immediately grab Arthur and trying to open the door.
"Skaro?" Arthur repeated, confused.
"Oh, you never tell him?" The Daleks' Creator smiles wickedly. "This is the home planet of Daleks, Explorer."
Oh God. "Clara! Claudia!" Arthur began shouting, banging the door.
"What are they going to do?" The Doctor demanded. "Tell me, what?"
"Who can say? You know what children are like."
From the screen, Arthur can see Missy walking with confidence while Clara and Claudia are standing behind, looking warry. "Daleks! Pay attention!"
"Don't. Just don't," the Doctor begged.
"You know what this is? This thing you're about to destroy? I'll tell you! It's the dog's unmentionables. And you know all about those, don't you? This is a Tardis. With this, you can go anywhere, do anything, kill anyone. With this, the Daleks can be more powerful than ever before." She climbs up onto a ledge opposite the Tardis and the Daleks all turn to look at her. Clara is trying to edge towards the door while Claudia is ready to protect her. "You just need one thing."
"No. Missy, no!"
"Me. You need me. A Time Lady, to show you how it works. With this and with me, everything can be yours. And you can burn it all, for ever and ever and ever… Or would you rather just kill me?"
The Daleks turn to their leader.
"Maximum extermination."
"Exterminate."
The Daleks fire at Missy. The Doctor quickly shield his gaze from the screen, not wanting the boy to witness it.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
Both Clara and Claudia were wary of the movements of the Dalek who were pointing their weapons at the two of them.
"I love you," Clara whispered, afraid.
"I love you," Claudia repeated before they're running away and got shot in the back.
