A/N: Hello everyone I am so so so sorry for how long it's taken for this chapter to come out.

Here is what has happened, I have gotten a new job that demands a lot more of my time so it has been hard to find the free time to write.

However, this does mean I'm giving up on the story. I still plan to keep on writing and posting but the chapters are definitely gonna be more spaced out than usual.

After spending about two weeks in Ba Sing Se the Gaang decided it was time to start an official search for Appa.

So Aang and Katara had went out to find a printing office to make some posters while the rest of the group stayed behind.

Sokka however, chose to spend his time making drawings of Appa for the posters which were very poorly done.

Suddenly Katara and Aang walked into the house with Katara saying "We found a printer to make our posters." she then held up one of the posters they had printed out with a description of Appa and a very accurate drawing.

Sokka got upset and whined out "Hey, I thought designing the 'Lost Appa' Poster was my job. I've been working all day on my Appa." Sokka then held up one of his poorly made drawings to show them.

Dijin spoke up from one of the couches saying "Is that supposed to be Appa or is it some messed up looking beetle?"

Katara was holding in her laughter at both the drawing and Dijin's comment while Aang looked exasperated and said "Sokka, the arrow is on Appa's head."

Sokka just had a frown as he pointed at the drawing and said "This is his head!"

Katara grabbed the drawing and said "Why are feet coming out of it?"

Sokka just got mad and snatched the drawing saying "Those are his Horns!" Sokka got depressed before saying "Look, I haven't seen him in while o.k.?"

Toph spoke up then from her spot next to Dijin saying "It looks just like him to me."

Dijin had to hold in his laughter while Sokka smiled and said "Thank you, I worked really..." Sokka trailed off realizing that Toph was messing with him since she couldn't actually see the drawing.

Sokka then frowned at the blind girl saying "Why do you feel the need to do that?"

Dijin just busted out laughing saying "Why do you always fall for it?"

Katara chuckled at Dijin before saying "Okay, let's get back on track." She then looked at her brother and said "Sorry Sokka, but I think we're gonna stick with the professional version."

Sokka's response to that was to angrily tear up his drawings while Aang gave them all a wide smile and said "Come on, let's get busy!"

Aang then took off out the door before opening his glider and taking off into the sky.

As Aang flew he was letting the posters he had fall out of his bag so they landed all over the city for people to see.

It wasn't long before Aang had dropped posters almost all over the upper and middle ring before he went back to the house they were staying at.

Inside the house Dijin and Toph were lying next to each other and throwing a ball against the wall while Katara and Sokka were playing Mahjong.

Aang then walked inside saying "I just finished dropping all the leaflets. Has anyone come in with news about Appa?"

Dijin looked at Aang from his spot next to Toph saying "You literally just got done dropping off the posters. News won't come that fast Aang. You've got to be patient and wait."

Katara spoke up next saying "Dijin's right, you just have to be patient Aang."

Aang just got depressed and sat down at the table where Katara and Sokka were playing and watched them.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Aang instantly stood up saying "Wow, you guys were right! Patients really pays off."

Aang ran to open the door and Dijin sat up to see who it could be.

When Aang opened the door, he was disappointed and shocked to find Joo Dee at the door. In fact, it was the same woman who first showed them around Ba Sing Se.

Joo Dee didn't bother to wait to be asked inside, she just walked in the house while saying "Hello, Aang and Katara and Sokka and Dijin and Toph."

The Gaang quickly gathered around Joo Dee and Sokka couldn't help but ask "What happened to you?"

Katara then asked "Did the Dai Li throw you in jail?"

Joo Dee just gave them her usual creepy smile and said "What, jail? Of course not. The Dai Li are the protectors of our cultural heritage."

Toph spoke up saying "But you disappeared at the Earth Kings party."

Joo Dee replied saying "Oh, I simply took a short vacation to Lake Laogai, out in the country. It was quite relaxing."

Katara who still wasn't convinced said "But then they replaced you with some other woman who also said her name was Joo Dee."

Joo Dee motioned to herself saying "I'm Joo Dee."

Dijin frowned at the woman and just asked "Why are you even here?"

Joo Dee looked at the group saying "Dropping flyers and putting up posters isn't permitted within the city. Not without proper clearance."

Dijin just angrily replied "So what? We're not going to wait forever until you or Long-Feng say we can. So just shove off woman!"

Joo Dee gave them her creepy smile while saying "You are absolutely forbidden by the rules of the city to continue putting up posters."

Aang who was fed up with the woman was red with anger while having veins showing on his head as he yelled in her face saying "We don't care about your stupid rules and we're not asking permission! We're finding Appa on our own and you should just stay out of our way!"

Joo Dee just cowered back not expecting Aang to be so forceful before Aang shoved her out the door and slammed it in her face.

Dijin placed a hand on Aang's shoulder saying "Couldn't have said it better myself."

Sokka spoke up from behind them saying "Be that as it may, that might come back to bite us in the blubber."

Aang just glared at the door and said "I don't care. From now on, we do whatever it takes to find Appa."

Dijin suddenly shouted "Damn right, let's do it!"

Toph then shouted out "Yeah, Let's break some rules!"

Toph then thrusted her arms diagonally to the left while stomping her feet Earth-bending the wall of their house and making it collapse.

Dijin looked at the destroyed wall and said out loud "I think you went a little too far there."

Toph just scoffed and said "If you ask me, I didn't go far enough."

Dijin just shrugged his shoulders not wanting to argue before the Gaang left the house with some more posters and some cans of paste with brushes.

The Gaang found a large stone wall in the middle ring that got a lot of foot traffic so they decided it was a good place to start putting up posters.

When they finished Sokka spoke up saying "We'll split up to cover more areas. Toph, I guess you should come with me or Dijin."

Toph just angrily replied "Why, because you think I can't put up posters on my own?" she then angrily grabbed a poster and brush before getting some paste and put up the poster.

Sadly, she put the poster up backwards so you actually couldn't even read it.

There was just an awkward silence before Toph said "It's upside down, isn't it?"

No one replied to her not wanting to upset the blind girl further so she just sighed and said "I'll just go with Dijin."

Then she and Dijin walked off to go put some more posters up while everyone else separated.

While Dijin and Toph walked he noticed she was wearing the jade bracelet he got her. Since he had realized he might have feelings for the blind girl he smiled at the thought of her enjoying his gift so he said "Do you like the bracelet?"

Toph stumbled a bit surprised by the sudden question but Dijin quickly caught her and set her upright.

Toph just had an awkward blush as she felt Dijin hold her before she said "Yeah, even though I can't see it. I like how I can bend it how I want. You never know when it might come in handy."

Dijin smiled again saying "Good, I was thinking of you specifically when I bought it. So, I'm glad it worked out."

Toph turned her head away so Dijin couldn't see her blush while Dijin blushed himself at how forward he was being before Toph said "Anyway, come on, we need to help Twinkle Toes find that big furball."

Dijin nodded his head saying "Right."

The two then went on to put up more posters and look for Appa.

With Katara, she had found a stone fountain where a lot of people hung out so she decided to put up some posters there.

However, as she was putting up a poster, she heard a voice she never thought she would hear again speak up from behind her.

"Katara?"

Katara slowly turned around and gasped in shock at who she saw.

Standing a few feet behind her was the freedom fighters' leader, Jet.

Jet smiled at her before saying "I think I can help you."

Katara's answer was to instantly glare at Jet before jumping in the air and raising her arms while bending her wrists.

Next, all the water inside the fountain followed her command and went streaming towards Jet in a giant wave.

Jet just had a wide-eyed look of panic as he shouted "Katara, Wait! I've changed!"

Katara just ignored Jet as she had the water connect with the freedom fighter sending him into a nearby alleyway.

Jet weakly stood up while Katara ran to alley's entrance and quickly rotated her hands in a circle, Water-bending a ball of water that she could throw at Jet at a moment's notice.

Katara glared at Jet in hatred and said "Tell it to some other girl, Jet."

Katara then thrusted her palms out turning the ball of water into Ice spikes and sent them straight at the Freedom Fighter.

Jet quickly drew his hook swords and blocked two of the spikes but the others came at him so fast he was forced to stumble as he dodged the attack before falling on the ground against the alley wall.

Jet quickly stood up and blocked another Ice spike before he shouted at Katara saying "I don't want to fight you, I'm here to help!"

Jet then sighed before he raised his swords high and dropped them on the ground to show Katara he meant no harm.

Katara looked at him shocked before Jet smirked and reached behind himself.

Katara thinking Jet was going to attack quickly threw some more Ice spikes at him which pinned his clothes to the wall trapping him.

Suddenly, Sokka and the others showed up since they heard the commotion from blocks away.

Sokka ran up to his sister and said "Katara, what is it?"

Katara just pointed at Jet and said "Jet's back."

Dijin's eyes widened before he walked forward and saw the freedom fighter pinned to the wall.

Dijin then walked up to Jet and said "How in the spirit's did you break out of a Fire Nation prison?"

Jet just smirked and said "To be honest, even I don't know how I pulled it off. If it wasn't for Smellerbee and Long-shot I don't know what would have happened. But there is something I have to say about what you did."

Dijin just tensed up and said "What's that?"

Jet bowed his head and said "Thank you."

The Gaang gasped in shock while Jet clarified saying "If you hadn't done what you did, I never would have realized how wrong I was. No matter what my goals are, I shouldn't become a monster to accomplish them."

Dijin frowned at Jet before saying "While that sounds good. that's all it is, words. If you want to prove you've changed show us through action."

Katara stepped forward while shouting "Are you kidding? We can't trust anything Jet says or does!"

Sokka spoke up next saying "We don't even know why he's here."

Katara just snapped and said "I don't care why he's here. Whatever the reason is, it can't be good."

Jet chose then to speak his piece saying "I'm here to help you find Appa!"

Jet then moved his arm that he had behind himself showing he was holding one of the Gaang's Lost Appa posters.

Aang looked at the poster then at Jet before looking at Katara saying "Katara, we have to give him a chance."

Dijin spoke up too saying "I agree, Iroh always taught me that everyone deserves a second chance." Dijin then glared at Jet and said "No matter how awful the person's past may be."

Jet looked at the group pleadingly and said "I swear I've changed. I was a horrible person, and I let my anger get out of control. But I don't even have the freedom fighters anymore. I've put all that behind me."

Katara not believing him just shouted "Your Lying!"

Toph however, walked forward and placed her hand on the wall next to Jet before saying "He's not lying."

Sokka curious on how Toph was so sure asked "How can you tell?"

Toph explained saying "I can feel his breathing and heartbeat. When people lie, there's a physical reaction. He's telling the truth."

Aang after hearing Toph looked at Katara again and said "Katara, we don't have any leads. If Jet says he can take us to Appa, we have to check it out."

Katara looked unsure before she sighed and closed her eyes before looking at Aang and saying "All right."

Katara then glared and pointed harshly at Jet saying "But we're not letting you out of our sight."

Jet just smiled and said "That's fine, just follow me. I work near where I think their holding Appa."

Katara turned away from Jet before waving her arm and bending her wrist melting the ice spikes pinning him.

Jet then brushed himself off before saying "It's this way." as he walked out of the alley with the others following him.

After they left the alley Jet led them to a huge warehouse in the lower ring.

When they were inside Jet spoke up saying "This is the place I heard about."

As the group made their way inside, they noticed the warehouse was completely empty save for some piles of bags and loose hay on the floor.

Aang looked around the empty building and said "There's nothing here."

Katara glared at Jet and growled out "If this is a trap."

Jet just turned towards Katara and said frustratingly "I told you! I work nearby. Two guys were talkin' about some giant furry creature they had. I figured it must be Appa."

Suddenly Toph shouted from the other end of the warehouse saying "He was here!"

The Gaang quickly ran over to the blind girl who was holding a bundle of white fur.

She quickly handed the fur to Aang who looked at it sadly before saying "We missed him."

Suddenly an old custodian showed up and started to sweep the floor while speaking up saying "They took that big thing yesterday. Shipped him out to some island. About time. I've been cleaning up fur and various, uh, leavings all day."

Aang quickly turned around and ran up to the old man saying "What Island? Where's Appa?"

The old man simply answered "The foreman said some rich royal type on Whaletail Island bought him up, guess for a zoo or such, though could be the meat'd be good."

Dijin frowned at the old man's words and stepped forward saying "Watch your mouth old man that's our friend you're talking about."

The old man put his hands up in the surrender saying "Sorry, I meant no offense."

Aang looked at the group and said "We gotta get to Whaletail Island." he gained a puzzled look before saying "Where is Whaletail Island?"

Sokka pulled out a map and after a few seconds of searching he quickly gained a remorseful look before saying "Far. Very Far." Sokka laid the map out and pointed at the island saying "Here it is. It's near the South Pole, almost all the way back home."

After hearing that Katara spoke up saying "Aang, it'll take us weeks just to get to the tip of the Earth Kingdom. And then we'll need to find a boat to get to the island."

Dijin spoke up next saying "I don't know about all this. Something doesn't feel right, almost like we were Supposed to find this place."

Aang just had a determined frown as he said "I don't care either way. We have a chance to find Appa, we have to try."

Suddenly the old janitor spoke up saying "An Island sounds nice. I haven't had a vacation in years."

Katara angry at the old man's interruption shouted at him saying "Don't you have some more hair to clean up!"

The janitor just sighed and said "Shuffle off, I get ya."

the janitor walked away and kept sweeping while Katara turned towards Aang and said "Your right, Aang. Right now, our first concern has to be finding Appa. We can come back when we have him."

Sokka started to head out saying "Okay, let's get moving."

The others followed him while Dijin spoke up saying "I still think there's something weird going on here but I agree, Appa is priority."

As the group was leaving Jet suddenly ran in front of them and said "I'm coming with you."

Katara just glared at the freedom fighter and said "We don't need you."

Jet got frustrated and said exasperatingly "Why won't you trust me?"

The group just continued forward with Jet along with them save for Katara and Toph who stayed back for a second.

Katara crossed her arms and huffed before saying "Gee, I wonder."

Toph just smirked and said "Was this guy your boyfriend or something? Miss I've never dated anyone."

Katara looked at Toph with wide eyes screaming "What! No!"

Katara turned away from the girl in another huff while Toph just smirked wider while saying in a Sing Songy voice "I can tell your lying."

Katara just marched out of the warehouse and Toph laughed while following after her.

After leaving the warehouse the Gaang plus Jet were currently walking down the street in the lower ring and headed for the Trolley Station.

Sokka spoke up as they were walking saying "We can take the Trolley out to the wall, but then we'll have to walk."

Aang just had a smile on his face as he said "Don't worry, on the way back, we'll be flying."

Toph just looked relieved as she said "We're finally leaving Ba Sing Se. Worst City Ever."

Suddenly they heard someone shout at Jet from down the street saying "Jet!"

The group turned around and saw Smellerbee and Long-shot running towards them.

Katara once again glared at Jet and said harshly "I thought you said you didn't have your gang anymore."

Jet turned around confused while saying "I don't."

Suddenly Smellerbee glomped onto Jet hugging him tightly while saying "We were so worried." She then pulled away and asked "How did you get away from the Dai Li?"

Katara gained a look of shock and exclaimed "The Dai Li?!"

Jet took a step back and said "I don't know what she's talking about."

Smellerbee looked at the Gaang and said "Jet got arrested by the Dai Li a couple weeks ago. We saw them drag him away."

Jet just seemed to get upset and replied "Why would I be arrested? I've been living peacefully in the city."

While Smellerbee and Jet were talking Toph decided to kneel on the ground and place a hand down to see if either of the two were lying.

Toph just gained a confused look as she spoke up saying "This doesn't make any sense. They're both telling the truth."

Katara held her arms wide while saying "That's impossible."

Sokka realizing what was going on walked forward saying "No, It's not."

The group all looked at Sokka as he explained saying "Toph can't tell who's lying because they both think they're telling the truth." Sokka then pointed accusingly at Jet saying "Jet's been brainwashed."

Jet just gained a wide-eyed look and started darting his head around saying "That's crazy! It can't be." Jet then started to have a small panic attack and looked at everyone around him before backing away shouting "Stay away from me!"

However, before Jet could run away or harm anyone Dijin was suddenly at his side and punched him in the jaw knocking him out.

Dijin then picked Jet up and placed him on his shoulder while saying "Why am I always knocking you out."

Smellerbee and Long-shot were instantly in battle stances after that with Smellerbee saying "What in the spirits do you think you're doing?"

Dijin placed a hand up in the surrender motion saying "He was panicking and was about to run or harm someone. So, I made sure he could do nether and now we can take him somewhere where we can get an idea on what happened to him."

Smellerbee looked at Long-shot who just nodded his head. So, the girl plus the archer put their weapons away.

Smellerbee then approached Dijin saying "Long-shot and I will carry him."

Dijin didn't argue and just handed the unconscious freedom fighter to the girl.

Once Smellerbee and Long-shot had Jet, Smellerbee pointed towards a nearby building saying "Our place isn't far from here we can find out what happened there."

The group nodded their heads and followed the freedom fighters to their home.

Inside the freedom fighters home Jet was still unconscious and the entire group was gathered around him.

Katara had her arms crossed as she spoke up saying "The Dai Li must have sent Jet to mislead us, and that Janitor must have been part of their plot, too."

Dijin spoke next saying "I knew that warehouse was too easy to find and this all definitely feels like something Long-Feng would cook up."

Aang added his thoughts saying "I bet they have Appa here in the city. Maybe he's in the same place they took Jet." Aang looked at the group and said "Someone wake him up."

Dijin bent down and started slapping Jet's cheeks saying "Come on Jet. Wake up time."

After a few seconds of slapping Jet finally snapped awake and sat up.

Dijin stood up and stepped back while Jet rubbed his sore jaw.

Aang then leaned down towards Jet asking "Where did the Dai Li take you?"

Jet just looked at the group and said "Nowhere. I, I Don't know what you're talking about."

Aang put a hand to his chin in thought as he said "We need to find a way to jog his real memories."

Sokka smirked and said "Maybe Katara could kiss him. That should bring something back."

Katara answer to that was to punch her brother in the stomach making him collapse onto the floor wheezing.

As Sokka was wheezing on the floor he got an idea while looking at the wheat stalks that made up the stuffing for the mattresses.

He quickly composed himself and said "Wait, I got an idea."

Sokka grabbed a wheat stalk and promptly stuck it in Jet's mouth.

Jet just glared at Sokka while saying "I don't think it's working."

He then spit out the wheat stalk while Toph gave her two cents saying "Try to think of something from your past that triggers your emotions."

Smellerbee understanding what Toph meant looked at Jet and said "The Fire Nation, remember what they did to your family?"

Katara looked at Jet in the eyes and said "Close your eyes. Picture it."

Jet did as she asked and his eyes instantly began to clench shut tight while sweat poured off his brow. his whole body looking as if it was in pain.

Suddenly Jet sat forward with wide eyes and screamed "No! It's too painful."

Katara being the caring person she was walked next to Jet while saying "Maybe this will help."

Katara then unclasped her Waterskin and started to bend Water at the sides of Jets head.

Soon the water took on a green glow as Katara started to soothe Jet's scattered mind.

Luckily it seemed Katara's technique was working as Jet started to relax and drift off in a trance.

After a few moments Jet started to speak saying "They took me to a headquarters under the water, like a lake."

Dijin realizing something spoke up saying "Wait a minute, remember what Joo Dee said? She said she went on vacation to Lake Laogai."

Jet's eyes widened as he stood up saying "That's it! Lake Laogai."

Dijin took a step forward and looked at Jet saying "Do you remember where it is?"

Jet had a determined frown as he said "Yeah, I think so."

Dijin nodded his head and said "Lead the way."

Jet nodded his head as well and made his way towards the door followed by Smellerbee and Long-shot then the others.

After traveling for a few hours Jet led the group to a mountain range on the outskirts of Ba Sing Se with a large lake in the center.

As the large group stood at the shore Sokka spoke up saying "So where's this secret headquarters?"

Jet unsure just rubbed his head saying "Under the water, I think."

Toph slid her foot on the ground and spoke up while pointing to the right saying "There's a Tunnel right there, near the shore. Hot Rocks, follow me."

Dijin and Toph walked to where the tunnel was and then simultaneously Jumped in the air while crossing their arms. Next, they slammed their feet on the ground while spreading their arms.

After that, a stone pathway rose up out of the lake that led to a Tunnel with a stone cover on it.

The group walked down the path with Dijin and Toph leading the way and once they were at the tunnel entrance Toph bent the stone lid away.

The group climbed down and found themselves in a maze of different tunnels and rooms.

As the group patrolled the tunnels things started to seem familiar to Jet so he spoke up saying "It's all starting to come back to me."

Jet then ran to a door on the left side of the hallway and peeked inside before moving on as the rest of the group each took a turn peeking and when Dijin looked inside he was horrified at what he saw.

Inside the room, a Dai Li Agent was brainwashing a large group of women which were all dressed the same as Joo Dee.

The Dai Li Agent was speaking in a slow monotonous voice while a lantern flashed around the room saying "I'm Joo Dee. Welcome to Ba Sing Se."

The group of women all replied at once with dilated eyes and monotone voices saying "I'm Joo Dee. welcome to Ba Sing Se."

The Dai Li Agent spoke again saying "We're so lucky to have our walls to create order."

The women all replied at once again saying "We're so lucky to have our walls to create order."

Dijin quickly moved away from the room and caught up with the others silently vowing to destroy this horrible place.

As the group continued forward Jet started to get more confident as his memory returned and spoke up while pointing ahead with one of his swords saying "I think there might be a cell big enough to hold Appa up ahead."

Jet then led the group to a door as he said "I think it's through here."

He pushed the door open leading the group into a dimly lit room.

However, suddenly the door slammed shut and the room brightened up revealing that the group was in a large chamber of some sort with crystals being used for lights.

Sokka took in their surroundings saying "Now that's something different."

Just as Sokka finished speaking Long-Feng's voice spoke up from ahead of them saying "You have made yourselves enemies of the state."

Long-Feng glanced at the team of Dai Li agents behind him and said "Take them into custody."

Next thing the group knew they were surrounded by at least 20 Dai Li agents and they were closing in.

The Dai Li attacked first with two agents sending their Earth-gloves at the Gaang but Toph moved in front of the incoming Earth-gloves and clenched her fists shattering them.

Dijin turned towards a duo of Dai Li and clenched his fists turning their Earth-gloves into magma causing the men to scream in agony as their hands and forearms melted.

Toph acted next by spreading her arms wide while bending her wrists which created two large pillars that launched some Dai Li agents diagonally into the walls.

Jet seeing some agents getting ready to attack Dijin ran forward with a yell saying "Rrraaah!"

The agents seeing Jet attack focused on him instead and shot their gloves at him.

Jet just twirled his swords and rotated in a circle making a horizontal slice with his right blade shattering the gloves. Next, Jet cartwheeled and slid across the ground using the hook on his sword to trip one of the Dai Li agents before focusing on the next one.

Meanwhile, Aang was using a combination of Air-bending and Earth-bending to take out agents. First, Aang used his staff to create a large wave of air that slammed into two agents sending them into a wall. Aang then twirled his staff and held it with his left hand while spreading his right arm outwards and bending his wrist. This in turn created a diagonal Earth-pillar that slammed into an agent's stomach which sent him flying.

While this was happening Katara and Sokka had teamed up with Sokka using his club and knife to block the agents Earth-gloves and Katara used her water to create some Water-tentacles to attack the disarmed agents by either whipping them or tripping them up.

However, some of the agents got a couple good hits in and their gloves grabbed the siblings which started pulling Sokka along with Katara towards the agents.

Luckily, Dijin and Toph acted fast by slamming their left and right feet down and throwing their fists to the side. Next, rows of pillars erupted from the ground creating a diagonally shaped wall that blocked the siblings from getting captured.

The Dai Li agents retaliated by rotating in a circle while moving their arms vertically which created a river of pillars that were sent straight at the two Earth-benders.

Dijin and Toph responded by waving their arms in circle and pushing their palms upwards which made a pillar rise under them sending them upwards.

The agents followed them by creating pillars of their own and launching themselves onto the wall. Then with Earth-bending they began to run across the walls towards the bending duo.

Once they were close enough agents on either side of Toph and Dijin created pillars that went straight towards them.

Dijin and Toph acted fast by simply jumping upwards letting the pillars slam into one another before Toph slammed her foot on the ground creating a boulder and punched it towards an agent which hit him dead center and made him fall.

Dijin on the other hand punched his fist into the pillar the other Dai Li agent was standing on then turned it instantly into magma burning the man's legs and sending him falling to his death.

However, while the two were distracted an agent sent one of his gloves at Dijin and grabbed him making grunt and be pulled downwards.

Luckily though, Jet came swinging by on a make-shift rope and grabbed Dijin before he could get captured.

The two landed with each of them giving a nod to one another before they went back to fighting.

After seeing most of his agents get defeated Long-Feng started to retreat towards a stone door at the back the room.

Aang had just sent an agent flying with an Air-blast as he noticed Long-Feng leave and he quickly shouted to get everyone's attention saying "Long-Feng is escaping!"

After that Dijin, Aang, and Jet took off after Long-Feng while the others stayed behind to hold off the Dai Li.

Dijin simply punched his fist forward shattering the stone door instantly letting the trio pursue Long-Feng.

The Trio chased the puppet master down the hallway until they came across an underground waterway with stone pipes everywhere.

The Trio looked around trying to find Long-Feng anywhere but then the doorway they entered from suddenly sealed itself shut while the man they were looking for dropped down from up above and glared at them.

Long-Feng looked at them and spoke menacingly saying "All Right, Avatar, Right hand. You've caused me enough problems. This is your last chance. If you want your Bison back."

Aang glared at Long-Feng and shouted "You do Have Appa. Tell me where he is!"

Dijin got into a stance and glared as well saying "You'd better do as the Avatar asks. You don't want to see him angry."

Long-Feng just replied "If you agree to exit the city now, I'll waive all charges against you and allow you to leave with your lost pet."

Jet glared at Long-Feng and held up his swords saying "You're in no position to bargain. You're outnumbered."

Long-Feng simply smirked evilly before saying "Oh, really?" He then looked at Jet in the eyes saying "Jet, The Earth King has invited you to Lake Laogai."

Dijin and Aang watched as Jet slumped forward and his pupils dilated before he said in a monotone voice "I am honored to accept his invitation."

Next thing the bending duo knew Jet made for a dual horizontal swipe with his swords trying to slice them up.

Meanwhile Long-Feng snapped his fingers and a group of ten Dai Li agents appeared. He then glared at the fighting trio and said "Get rid of the Avatar and the Right Hand and if the boy gets in your way finish him off as well."

The agents all simply nodded and went in to attack.

Dijin glanced at Long-Feng and saw the incoming agents so he quickly turned towards Aang while dodging a swipe from Jet saying "Aang, you take care of Jet and I'll stop the Dai Li from interfering."

Aang nodded his head shouting "You got it!" before the two separated With Aang focusing on Jet while Dijin ran towards the oncoming Dai Li agents.

Once Dijin was close enough he dropped to his knees and slid across the ground while dragging his arms across the floor.

As he dragged his arms, he was picking up Earth and turning it into magma then once he had a good amount in each hand he stood up and grabbed the two nearest Dai Li agents by their faces and slammed them into the ground.

All the remaining Dai Li watched in stunned horror as their comrades' heads were melted into goo while Dijin just kneeled between the two screaming men with a terrifying glare.

Once the two agents were dead Dijin got into a stance and glared at the Dai Li surrounding him and simply said "Who's next?"

An agent acted by throwing his fists forward sending a large pillar at Dijin who simply did a reverse roundhouse kick shattering the pillar. Next, Dijin slammed his feet into the ground creating a pool of magma around his feet. Dijin then opened his hands and raised them up making orbs of lava form around him. Before the Dai Li could even question what was happening Dijin punched an orb towards the agent that attacked him.

The orb hit its target making the man scream in pain and horror as his chest melted.

After that Dijin did a rotating sidekick sending another orb at an agent who wasn't fast enough to dodge and the magma hit his leg separating the limb from his body.

However, it wasn't over yet while in mid rotation Dijin moved his body so he could slam his knee and fist into the ground which created a river of spikes that only four of the agents could dodge while the other three were stabbed repeatedly by the sharpened earth.

The remaining four agents teamed up and performed a team attack by jumping and slamming into the ground on all fours sending a massive wave of earth at Dijin.

Dijin just glared at the attack and stomped his right foot forward diagonally while throwing his hands forward palms out with his fingers inverted.

The wave then followed Dijin's command and went towards the agents who were so caught off guard they couldn't dodge the attack and were sent flying into different parts of the walls making man sized craters.

Dijin looked around and saw all the agents were taken care of before he focused on Long-Feng and gave him a deathly glare.

Long-Feng seemed to be unfazed by the battle he witnessed nor did he seem fazed by Dijin's glare but if you looked closely, you could see a few beads of sweat on Long-Feng's brow.

Meanwhile with Aang, the Air-benders fight had begun with Jet going for a dual vertical swipe with his swords while Aang rotated in circle to dodge the attack.

As Aang was dodging he tried to snap Jet out of his trance saying "Jet, It's me, Aang!"

Jet's answer was to do a low windmill swipe with his swords as Aang tried reasoning with him again saying "You don't have to do this."

Over with Long-Feng he spoke up from his position saying "I'm afraid he longer has a choice."

Dijin just Glared at Long-Feng and said "We'll see about that." before he ran towards the brainwashed freedom fighter.

Once Dijin was close enough Jet tried to swipe at him with a dual vertical slash but the Earth-bender caught his wrists and tried to reason with him like Aang saying "Jet, remember why you came down here!"

Jet just grunted and broke out of Dijin's grip and tried slashing him again but Dijin dodged and raised his fingers upwards creating some small pillars that tripped up Jet.

Aang then spoke up from next to Dijin saying "Jet he's right! Don't you remember? We're your friends. Look inside your heart!"

While Jet recovered Dijin spoke again saying "You came here to redeem yourself! To show us that you're a good person. Don't let Long-Feng turn you into something you're not!"

Long-Feng interrupted the two saying "Do your duty, Jet."

Jet stood up in front of Long-Feng and got ready to charge the two in front of him while Dijin tried to reason with him again saying "He can't make you do this! You're a freedom fighter Jet not a murderer!"

Suddenly Jet's head snapped up as his eyes went wide as if he was realizing something profound.

Long-Feng however, was frustrated that Jet hadn't attacked yet so he shouted at him saying "Do it, do it now. Finish them off!"

Jet answer to that was to spin around and throw one of his swords at Long-Feng showing he had broken free of the brainwashing.

Long-Feng dodged the attack and then sent his right fist forward sending a river of spikes towards the three fighters.

Jet seeing Aang and Dijin in danger quickly acted and shoved the two out of the way before the attack hit and a huge dust cloud erupted around the room.

Dijin quickly got up and pushed his hands down clearing the dust and what he saw next broke him on the inside.

In the center of the room was Jet only he had two large Earth-spikes impaling him in his stomach and shoulder.

Jet Just gave them a weak smile with blood running down his lips as he said "You two, ok?" before he fell backwards the spikes making a squelching sound as he slid off them and onto the floor.

Dijin and Aang both had wide eyes as they ran towards the wounded fighter screaming "Jet!"

Long-Feng chose then to slam his fists together creating a pillar that sent him upwards towards a large drainage pipe that he walked into.

Long-Feng looked down at Jet and the rest in disgust saying "Foolish boy. You've chosen your own demise." with that said Long-Feng disappeared into the pipe.

Just then the rest of the group showed up and saw Jet before they all gathered around him.

Dijin knelt down and held Jet by his shoulders while saying "You Idiot! why did you that? I could have stopped it."

Jet just looked at Dijin weakly and said "I had to prove to you somehow that I wasn't a monster." He then gave a weak laugh while Dijin just gritted his teeth.

Smellerbee knelt next to Dijin with tears in her eyes as she spoke saying "Let me hold him."

Dijin just nodded his head and helped place Jet in Smellerbee's lap.

After seeing Jet's wounds Katara quickly gathered some water from her pouch and started to wave her hands back and forth bending the healing liquid on Jets injuries.

After a few seconds Katara shook her head and said "This isn't good."

Smellerbee looked at the group and said "You guys go find Appa, we'll take care of Jet."

Dijin stood up and stubbornly said "We're not gonna leave you."

However, everyone was shocked when not Smellerbee replied but the mute archer Long-Shot who said "There's no time. Just go. We'll take care of him. he's our leader."

Katara was unsure until Jet spoke up and weakly said "Don't worry, Katara. I'll be fine."

Katara just squinted her eyes shut as she realized Jet was dying and there was nothing she could do before she quickly stood up and started to walk away with the rest of the Gaang behind her.

As the Gaang left Toph grabbed Dijin's arm and said with a downtrodden face "He's lying."

Dijin moved his arm so he was holding Toph's hand before he said "I know."

Toph just squeezed Dijin's hand tight as they left freedom fighters to mourn the loss of their leader.

After leaving the waterway the Gaang found Appa's cell rather quickly and Dijin punched the stone door barring their way shattering it into pieces.

The group quickly entered the room but were shocked to find it empty with nothing but loose chains on the ground.

Aang looked at the empty cell and said "Appa's gone! Long-Feng beat us here."

Sokka spoke up saying "If we keep moving, maybe we can catch up to them."

The group quickly turned around with Toph leading the way saying "This way! I can make us a short-cut."

The group followed her to a dead-end hallway before she stomped her foot and thrusted her hands forward palms out.

Next, a tunnel was formed going at an upwards angle which the group entered and started climbing.

A few minutes later a slab of earth erupted out of Lake Laogai by the shore before the face of the slab shattered revealing the Gaang climbing out.

Once they were all out the started to run back towards Ba Sing Se but they were soon pursued by more Dai Li agents.

Sokka looked at the large number of agents in a panic and asked "Do you think we can out run them?"

Aang just replied "I don't think it's gonna matter. Look up ahead."

The group looked and saw Long-Feng with a row of Dai Li agents behind him who slammed there feet down while crossing their arms which created a huge wall in front of the group.

Next, some Dai Li did the same thing behind them effectively pinning the group down while being surrounded by agents.

However, suddenly Momo started to act strange and erratic causing Aang to say "What is it Momo?"

Momo just took to the sky and flew into the clouds making the Gaang squint to see where he was going.

However, a few seconds later the Gaang all had wide smiles while Aang had tears in eyes as they all heard a familiar roar and saw a giant white furred creature flying down towards them.

Aang couldn't hold in his happiness as he shouted "APPA!"

Appa seeing his friends in trouble quickly flew down and plowed through the walls trapping the Gaang shattering them to pieces while also incapacitating the Dai Li.

However, some agents were able to doge by jumping onto the rock-face but Dijin and Toph quickly remedied that by running forward and slamming their fists into the wall.

Next, a horizontal section of the wall came bursting out sending the agents flying into the lake.

After destroying the walls Appa circled back and landed in front of Long-Feng while growling at him.

Long-Feng just got into a Stance and said "I can handle you by myself."

Long-Feng then made to attack the Bison but Appa just opened his large mouth and bit Long-Feng's right leg before tossing him across Lake Laogai like a stone.

Appa just glared at the water before spitting out Long-Feng's shoe as the Gaang came running towards him.

The Gaang instantly started to hug and pet their long-lost friend saying "Appa!" while Aang who especially missed the sky bison jumped onto his face while saying with tears of joy "I missed you, buddy."

Appa Just closed his eyes happy to finally be back with his family.

After a few more minutes of enjoying their reunion the Gaang quickly climbed onto Appa and flew off to a secluded area so they could plan their next move.

While down below Zuko and Iroh climbed out of the hidden base with the Gaang never knowing the role they had to play in saving Appa.
