"Don't allow her to escape!"

Marina ran down the corridor of Academia as Obelisk Force chased her down. Each class in session had students looking out from their classroom to see the loud noise coming from outside.

"Hurry up and turn the dampeners on!" yelled another Obelisk Force.

They were trying to prevent Marina from using her Academia hybrid duel disk to open a portal. Even though Academia could no longer track her down due to her new duel disk she made in Synchro, the walls of Academia had technology which could prevent any form of teleportation.

As the walls begun to light up in green Marina knew she had to teleport now despite being unable to properly focus on her duel disk.

She hit her duel disk as she stopped mid-running. One of the Obelisk Force was now able to aim a net gun at her and fired it.

As a purple portal opened Marina was wrapped in the net but due to the sheer force she was pushed through the portal. Before Obelisk Force could enter the portal had shut.

Forest – Yusho's Hut

Inside the hut was all the essentials needed to hideout in the deep forest. Yuzu and the others took a seat at the table as Austin went over to the radio in the corner to listen in. Yusho joined the others at the table.

"This really is a miracle, Yuzu. It's been three years." Yusho said.

"Yeah… when you disappeared… it was so strange… my dad… Yuya…. Yoko…"

"Yes and I thank you all for helping Yuya."

"I'm sorry about your wife…." Yuzu saddened said.

"I will get her back along with Yuya… plus your father and the kids, Yuzu." Yusho said.

"What will you do to Leo?" Masumi asked.

"One of Leo's first actions was to teleport me from Standard to Fusion…. He put that much effort into doing that… just for one man… he is determined to kill me. But I must talk to him."

"And Austin is the guy who saved you all?" Yuzu asked to Masumi and Gongenzaka.

"Yeah, Austin was a member of the Obelisk Force who came to arrest me when I came to Fusion…. thankfully his heart was always pure and he joined my side.. Thanks to Austin we were able to learn more from the inside of Academia, being able to rescue kids before they enrolled, freeing Reiji and the others, as well making sure your friends weren't carded back in the Ritual Dimension."

"Wow…" Yuzu looked down at the table.

"And what you've done, Yuzu…. is beyond amazing." Yusho said. "So don't frown."

"Well that was down to everyone as well but…. I just can't see how we're going to save Yuya."

"Mina said she was going to help by going into Academia…. we have to trust her now along with Ryo." Masumi replied.

"Mina?" Austin walked over. "She's on our side now?"

"She…. had a moment which I think opened her heart." Yuzu replied.

"Well…. it would be a big positive… and with Ryo now fighting alongside… we are much stronger."

"Was there any news, Austin?" Yusho asked.

"Just Obelisk Force continuing to search for Yuzu and the others. No signs of the dragons either."

"They would be either here or Standard." Yuzu said. "But what's the status on Yugo?"

"And kept under lock and key." Austin replied. "They refuse to let another dragon escape."

"And since they have all the bracelets already, this could well be our last chance…. we have to find a way to break through to Standard and bring our allies here in one swoop. We can't keep waiting days to only bring a few each time" Yuzu answered.

"So I guess Reiji got a way through…. just like him." Yusho smiled.

"Along with Kaiba and our friends in Synchro, yeah." Masumi said.

"The kids you saved, Yusho, are all save in Standard as well." Gongenzaka said.

"I'm glad, thank you so much. But Yuzu is right; we need to get everyone here now. Austin, you were able to get a portal open before…. can we do anything again to link up to Standard?" Yusho turned around to him.

"Nothing that I know of… only inside of Academia could we find an answer."

"Then we have to rely on Mina." Yuzu said. "I need to contact her…. she is our only chance of finding something while inside Academia."

"I can handle that." Austin answered.

"Now you guys have had a long trip, rest up." Yusho added.

Academia

Mina and Ryo had teleported into a giant room filled with tanks which were in the dark. Mina had already received Austin's message which was encrypted to pass Academia's blockages.

"Is this…?" Ryo questioned.

"Yes, my father's… parasite creation room….." Mina said as she looked around. "The laboratory I guess has been closed so we'll need to work here."

"I don't understand any of this but I'll back you up for as long as I can." Ryo said.

"I can run a deep scan across the islands for any sign of Odd-Eyes and Starving…. and thanks to this card filled with their own energy… it might just be able to locate them unlike Academia's systems."

"And the dimensional portal?"

"Well I have a feeling this card energy might have just enough left to open the gateway to Standard… but then we're on our own." Mina replied.

"Fine… we'll fight our way out…."

"Yes, I know… you want to die for you what you did… if that's your choice, fine… but I need you to guard the door for now."

As Ryo approached the door the two could hear a loud sound lift off from the roof. The roof also shook.

"An Academia helicopter…. they only ever leave if Leo is heading to the mainland…." Ryo stated.

Yuzu

"What?!" Austin yelled as he received another message back from Mina.

"What is it?" Yusho replied.

"Well….. I think we're going to get a visitor… the Academia helicopters are en-route. Leo must be coming."

"But there was nothing on the radio?"

"Yes but I guess they kept it quiet…. they might've figured someone was listening in." Austin said as he looked towards the window.

"There's nothing to say he's coming here…. we're deep in the woods, not even those drones can scan beneath the deep growth." Yusho tried to reassure.

"Yusho, Leo won't leave his fancy castle for nothing… he must know you're here. We need to evacuate now!"

"Where could we go? We got lucky that you had a cabin…. we can't go back to the school…."

In the distance the sound of several blasts being fired followed by loud crashes onto the ground.

"What on earth was that?" Yusho said as he went to the window.

"Wake the three up, I'll cover!" Austin said as he grabbed his duel disk from the side.

"Austin!"

"Yusho, we have no time!" Austin gave no time for Yusho to reply as he opened the door and left.

"Austin…. Damnit!"

Outside Austin stood firm as he could see tree after tree fall down as the blasting got closer. Each tree was knocked down every one second so it didn't take long before the final sets were destroyed.

Appearing was several Obelisk Force with Ancient Gear Monsters active. The Obelisk Force stood to the side and put their right arm on their chest as Leo Akaba walked through. Austin gritted his teeth and walked towards Leo.

"Austin…. how are you?" Leo asked calmly as he stood amid the debris.

"How did you track me?"

"We both know it's not just you, Austin." Leo replied. "Search the cabin." Leo ordered to the Obelisk Force who nodded and breezed past Austin who had no way to stop them.

"I'll ask again… how did you find me?"

"When some of the Lancers fled after beating the Juvenile Officers this was the only place they could've run to. Hiding among nature…. not a bad choice." Leo looked around.

"Yeah and you've just wiped some of it out!"

"It can be replanted with Real Solid Vision… that's how our utopia will live forever! Now where's Yusho?!"

"…."

"Obelisk Force will be turning your cabin apart so for now… let's duel, Austin! A chance to wipe out another traitor is always something I will savour!""

"Sounds fine to me, Leo…. I'll do what Yusho can't…. I'll happily take you out!" Austin placed his yellow-gun hybrid duel disk onto his arm as it folded into place.

"Let's duel!" both yelled.

Turn 1

"I set scale oneCelestial Tech Emperor Caesar and scale six Tech Celestial Utopia!"Caesar was a sliver robot wearing a toga and a wreath crown while Utopia had golden amour with shinning wings on the back but it had gears around its joints.

"I now Normal SummonCelestial Tech Emperor Wilhelm!" A yellow robot dressed in a black uniform similar to Leo emerged.

"I use the Continuous Spell Supply Squad! Once per turn when you destroy one of my Monsters I can draw a card!

"I draw!" Austin yelled. Austin looked at his hand and looked at Leo. "He'll know my deck… so whatever Wilhelm can do, will almost certainly be a counter…. but I have to take that risk!" he thought.

"You always were one of the best Obelisk Force, Austin." Leo said.

"And I regret those days ever since! I play Blaze Accelerator! This Continuous Spell lets me send a Pyro Monster with 500 or less attack to destroy a Monster you control but I can't attack in return. I send Volcanic Shell!"

Appearing on the field was a tripod gun. Austin placed the card into his duel disk and the fire energy flowed into the weapon. It launched a fireball at Wilhelm and wiped it out.

Leo LP: 4000 – 3500

"Supply Squad lets me draw!" Leo said as he did just that.

"And I pay 500 lifepoints! When Shell is in the graveyard, by doing this I add another Shell!"

Austin LP: 4000 – 3500

"I use the Quick Play Spell, Volcanic Cyclone! I send Pyro Monsters in my hand to destroy that amount of Spells and Traps you control!"

"What?!"

"I send Shell and Scattershot!" Austin held up the two cards which became fireballs. The two struck Leo's Pendulum Scales. "And Since Scattershot was sent to the graveyard you take 500 damage!"

Leo LP: 3500 – 3000

"I set one card and during the End Phase I draw cards equal to the amount of Pyro Monsters I sent to via the effect of Volcanic Cyclone!" Austin drew twice.

"All that and you didn't even attack…"

"It's not always about control, Leo! I've had a long time to think about this duel!"

"You always pictured dueling me…? Well I am flattered…"

"That's what this is all about….a god complex…. you yearn to be worshipped!"

"I saved the Fusion Dimension, didn't I? I've made my contribution!" Leo smirked.

"I would rather it still be the war…. at least then we were free!"

"No one is ever free in a war, Austin! I've brought this world safety! Without me you would've all starved!"

Turn 3

"I draw! And since you removed my Pendulum Scales…. I'll do this! By banishing Celestial Tech Emperor Wilhelm from my extra deck, I can set two new Pendulum Scales!"

"I helped you?"

"Everyone contributes in my world, Austin! The weak and the traitors will fuel my Arc Area Project… and you'll be joining them! I set scale one Tech Celestial Rainbow Serpent and scale eight Tech Celestial Stardust Wyvern!"

"I Pendulum Summon Caesar and Utopia!"

"Caesar's effect! I look at your hand and banish one Spell or Trap… inflicting you 500 damage!"

"Damn you…." Austin set all three cards in his hand into his duel disk's Spell and Trap slots as they appeared on Leo's duel disk.

"Volcanic Doomfire and Rocket… I guess I have no choice but to select yourFire Recovery Spell." Caesar lifted up his reef crown and threw it towards Austin. The reef crown increased in sharpness as it hit his chest before returning to Caesar.

Austin LP: 3500 – 3000

"Rainbow Serpent's effect! I banish it to send Fusion Material from my deck and hand! So be gone Rainbow!" Leo ordered as his Monster left the Pendulum Zone. "I send Celestial Tech Emperor Meiji from my hand and Celestial Tech Emperor Alexander! I Fusion Summon!"

The two humanoid-robots entered into the whirlpool which formed above.

"Come forth! Tech Celestial Augustus!" A grey-skinned dragon emerged with a robotic tail. It had red robot eyes along with a cyborg chest-piece.

"Well what about this! Augustus can summon a Tech Celestial from my deck when summoned! Appear Tech Celestial Ivan!" This robot had a sliver face with a bulkier build than its fellow Monsters. It had a bright yellow gown over its body while holding a spear.

Tech Celestial Ivan ATK: 2300 DEF: 0 Dark/Machine/Pendulum/LVL 6/Scale 5

"This ends now! Attack directly, Augustus!" Augustus unleashed a furious dark breath at Austin.

"I use my Counter Trap! Searing Firewall! I negate a direct attack by banishing a Volcanic Monster! I banish Shell! And if it had 500 or less attack, I can destroy a card on your field, be gone Stardust!"

"A Counter Trap?!" Augustus' breath faded away as bright flames blocked the blast. Stardust was also wiped out.

"I attack with Ivan then!" Ivan launched the spear at Austin who took the hit.

Austin LP: 3000 – 700

"How irritating…. I end my turn!"

"I also knew of your Stardust's Pendulum effect…. allowing you to negate a card effect… so only a Counter Trap could do. This is my real deck, Leo. My individual self! And not some generic deck you force others to use!"

"If you have such a hatred of my methods… just try and take me out!" Leo yelled. As he finished his sentence he saw his Obelisk Force come out.

"Professor… there's no sign of anyone!" said one.

"What?! How?!"

"Not knowing annoys you…. doesn't it?!" Austin mocked.

"You filthy scumbag! Search the area!" Leo demanded as Obelisk Force obeyed.

Turn 4

Leo LP: 3000 Hand: 2

Austin LP: 700 Hand: 2

"Draw!" Austin smirked. "I use Blazing Fusion! I fuse Doomfire in my hand with my Blaze Accelerator! If Academia taught me even one thing it's that any card can be fused! Including Spells!"

A metallic dragon made of pure ember fired into the air along with Blaze Accelerator.

"I Fusion Summon! Burning from hell, Volcanic Blaze Erupter!" Towering above Austin emerged a pure flaming dragon. It had two cannons mounted on its back.

Volcanic Blaze Erupter ATK: 3000 DEF: 2000 Fire/Pyro/Fusion/LVL 8

"I send a Pyro Monster from my hand to inflict halve of Erupter's attack as damage! I send Rocket!"

Austin's dragon's cannons loaded with flame energy from its own body. It unleashed a piercing screech as the blasts fired out and hit Leo directly.

Leo LP: 3000 – 1500

"I use its second effect! I banish a Volcanic from my graveyard to destroy a Monster you control and hit you with 800 damage! I banish Doomfire! Take out Augustus!" The Fusion Monster was burnt away thanks to the effect. Leo then felt the burning pain from his duel disk.

Leo LP: 1500 – 700

"But as my deck suggests, you might take one down but it returns in a different form! Augustus goes to my Pendulum Zone"

8 Augustus

"Erupter attacks Ivan!" Erupter launched one more blast as it flew towards the Pendulum Monster.

"Ivan's effect! When I have a Pendulum Monster in my scales I can tribute it and summon that Monster! Augustus returns with its effects negated!"

"I end the battle…." Austin gritted his teeth.

"Now we shall end this!" Leo affirmed.

Turn 5

Leo drew his card with almighty power.

"We're equal…. so much for some "god"!"

"I've never declared myself as god…. but I am close! I use Tech Celestial Fusion to fuse Augustus with Tech Celestial Wise Magician in my hand! Appear Charlemange!" A king who wore a blue battle suit with a yellow cape emerged. Like the others, he had a robotic feature. This Monster had android eyes.

"All Monsters with 2000 or more attack on your field lose 1000 attack!"

Erupter ATK: 2000

"So…. I failed….." Austin took a step back.

"You took me to five turns…. be grateful for that! Charlemange ends this!" Leo's Monster launched electric created from its palms at the beast. Austin went flying with the shocks surrounding his body.

Austin LP: 700 – 0 Leo Wins

Austin lay flat on his body as he saw Leo approach.

"One more time…. where's Yusho?" Leo bent down to Austin's level.

"He will find you." Austin replied weakly.

"Good… I hope for it."

"Get it over with!"

"If I recall…. this is where you went with your father… before the war…. it makes sense to let you die out here…. alone." Leo put his hands on Austin's chest and his arm lit up in purple energy.

"What… what are you doing?!"

"Carding people…. that's my underling's job…. except for Yusho. No, you'll die at my own hands… out here." Leo smirked and Austin screamed as purple energy flowed into his body.

Leo stood up and walked away. Austin could only clench up in pain.

In the background Leo spoke to his Obelisk Force and he agreed with them. As Leo departed for the helicopter the Obelisk Force used their Monsters to destroy Austin's cabin.

Yusho had woken up Yuzu, Masumi and Gongenzaka just in time to escape to the Fusion Dimensional sewer. Austin had a exit door inside which was hidden under a bed and camouflaged to look exactly similar to the floor.

"We can't stay down here for long…. I have no doubt they'll work it out soon enough." Yusho said.

"What do we do now, Mr. Sakaki?" Yuzu asked.

"I…. honestly don't know…." Yusho's tone was that of a defeated man.
