Inside the sewer Yuzu and the others were trapped. Austin's hut had been destroyed and now they had nowhere to go with the level of security Fusion had.

"All we can do now is wait for your friends to find a way to open a dimensional breach to Standard." Yusho said.

"Yeah but we're not safe down here." Yuzu replied.

"We can fend anyone off!" Gongenzaka affirmed.

"Yes, I would love to see you guys duel…. and not in a war setting!" Yusho smiled.

"Plus you're a strong duelist, aren't you, Mr. Sakaki?" Masumi asked.

"I wouldn't say strong…. more… entertaining!"

Academia – Doctor's Laboratory

Using the powerful systems within the castle, Mina was using her father's computer systems to scan for the dragons while also trying to find a way to connect to the Standard Dimension. Alongside her was Ryo.

"I've picked up three signals." Mina said while looking at the computer.

"Three?" Ryo replied.

"Yes, one must be Leo…. he has the power running through him now… but moving across the sea which I guess is his helicopter, which means the dragons are here. One in the east and the other in the west."

"And they'll becoming for the Synchro Dragon here…. Yugo." Ryo affirmed.

"And with Yuto in Standard they'll still need to head there… and that's how we can open a proper portal and not worry about a time limit!"

Throne Room

On a holoscreen Leo had gathered his last generals while he returned back to Academia. There was Cobra, the Doctor and Edo.

"So Marina got away while leaving Serena injured?" Leo asked.

"She got away but Serena is fine now…. a bit shaken after being electrocuted." Cobra replied.

"Even though she fears it, she'll use it as more motivation…. I've had enough chasing; I'm bringing the two dragons here. Doctor, arrange for Clear Wing to be released."

"Sir? What do you mean by that?" he stuttered.

"We're going to lift Clear Wing above the island… Odd-Eyes and Starving won't resist. Meanwhile, Edo, we're going to Standard for one last assault. Yuto is coming back to us!"

"Yes, Leo!" Edo responded.

"Cobra, contact Saunders, I want the castle ready. If we can't find the Lancers… we need the castle to be fully ready."

"Understood!"

….

A purple portal opened and Marina came flying out. The net which wrapped around her came away as she landed.

"That was too close….." she thought as she knew she had to run. Obelisk Force would be after her as soon as Academia's teleporting dampeners were reset.

Marina looked around to find her best place to head to. Like the Lancers, she was now on the run.

She realized she was on one of the mountains in the further outskirts of the city. She had a view of everything the city had including the further away Academia however so did the giant crystals in the sky.

"They'll know I'm here already…." Marina looked down and saw smoke coming from the distance with trees all knocked down.

East of the Island

Sitting in a tree in another forest was Yuya, except it was Odd-Eyes who had gained near total control now. He was still badly injured from his duel with Starving.

"That brat….." Odd-Eyes' body turned to red scaly dragon skin but it was all burnt and scratched. "I still can't maintain my true look but how I am right now…. I wouldn't want to be seen like this anyway." he thought.

Odd-Eyes allowed Yuya's skin to return as Odd-Eyes felt his chest.

"Well that's not an issue though… is it… Brother?!"

Odd-Eyes' hand lit up in a blue flame. Ancient One's power which was enhanced by Sin's strength allowed the Pendulum Dragon to begin to heal him up. Odd-Eyes looked up while his body working on itself.

"I still hear the spirits of my former friends in Yuya's deck…. the non-stop talking…. do they still assume I need saving? I did nothing wrong that day! The people rioted after Ciel killed King Leo…. I saw what people truly were…. I made the world better…..!"

West

Starving had now absorbed some of the Pendulum energy from Odd-Eyes, meaning he could now absorb any of his brothers whereas before only Odd-Eyes could. Starving was now sat in a cave and also like Odd-Eyes recovering.

He held up a card from Yuri's deck, it was Emma, Warrior's girlfriend who had been sealed into a card during the angel's battle with the dragons and fell into his hands.

"Maybe you can help me!"

Laboratory

"We know that Leo needs to cross into Standard to get Yuto… if I can find where Academia open their portals from within here, we have our route." Mina said while searching on the Academia computer.

"I won't pretend to know any of that stuff but I know for sure that we're not going to be alone for long." Ryo affirmed.

"Found it!" Mina hit the main button but no portal begun to form when she turned around.

"Did you do it right?" Mina looked at the screen again and saw a new message on it.

"It needs thumbprint recognition… of course he'd plan something like this!"

As Ryo was looking at Mina he heard the door open. The two turned around to see the Doctor walk in while the door closed behind him.

"Mina?! Ryo?! Guar-!" Before the Doctor could yell for backup Ryo put his hand on his mouth and slammed it against the wall.

"You're not going to say a single thing! You know exactly what I can do… and I have nothing to lose now!" Ryo whispered to him. All the Doctor could do is mumble behind Ryo's hand. "Don't you dare scream!"

Ryo pulled his hand away from the Doctor while keeping him pinned against the wall. The Doctor was actually impressed.

"So… you turned into a good guy then Mina… working with Ryo here…" he laughed to himself.

"Open a portal, now!"

"I won't do anything! In fact I have my own job to do! You ran away from Academia, Mina…. you took your own path and I'm on mine! You might not recall much from the Fusion War but Leo Akaba will lead us to a new era and I intend to be a part of it!" the Doctor yelled back.

"I met with Roget in Synchro and he told me about how he killed Mom…. without her we both went down a darker path…. but even I knew that trusting someone to destroy all of reality and remake a new universe is beyond insane!"

"All those who fail to recognise genius call it….insane!"

"Then we'll do it this way!" Ryo grabbed the Doctor and pushed him towards the computer console while holding his mouth.

"Yuzu and the others wouldn't approve of this but…. we've already crossed that line." Mina stated. The Doctor was muffling and trying to shout behind Ryo's hand as Mina took his hand put his thumb on the console which scanned and approved the teleport.

"Now what do we do with him?" Ryo asked as the Doctor tried to get out of Ryo's tight grip.

"Tie him up in the corner."

Standard Dimension

"Is it Academia?!" Reiji huffed as he entered his office.

"Yes but not who we think." Kaiba replied. He turned around the laptop and on it was Mina.

"You!"

"Reiji Akaba and Seto Kaiba! I don't have time to explain but I'm trying to help!"

"Not a chance!" Reiji yelled back. "Cut the feed."

"No! Look, I have Ryo with me!" Mina's camera showed Ryo finishing tying up the Doctor in the corner.

"Ryo? What's happening?" Kaiba said.

"She's telling the truth. Yuzu and Mina…. found an understanding… but right now we're in Academia and we can open a proper portal."

"This is it…." Reiji stuttered.

"Where's Yuzu and the others?!"

"I was able to contact Yuzu on her duel disk; she and the Lancers along with Yusho are based in the somewhere in Fusion. I'll open a portal to there but after that…. I don't know what I can do next."

"You can't tell us as the father is in the room and listening… good thinking. Okay we'll meet up with Yuzu in the designated spot and don't worry; I have a way to avoid Academia once we're there."

"This is really it." Kaiba said. "Mina, Ryo, good work."

"Okay, also Academia is preparing to come for Yuto, and very soon."

"Since Yuzu and the others departed yesterday we've been planning this. Yuzu and the others found Yusho so their job is done… now we shall do ours and bring back up!"

Fusion

"The portal is open! Let's go." Mina said.

"Right!" Ryo replied as the purple portal opened in the laboratory.

"It must be in there!"

The doors opened and Obelisk Force ran in. They had detected a dimension portal opening which Leo had not ordered.

"Go!" Ryo activated his duel disk as Obelisk Force aimed a net gun at Mina.

"Ryo, run!" Mina yelled but before she could move the net gun trapped her against the wall.

"Mina!" Ryo yelled who was also fired upon.

"Free the Doctor! We need this shut down!" one of the Obelisk Force ordered.

Sewer

As Yuzu waited with the others a bright light appeared in the tunnel.

"Is it….?" Masumi asked.

Stepping out with a backpack on was Reiji along with Kaiba.

"Guys!" Yuzu rejoiced.

"We're here now, and not just us." Reiji smirked as the light showed more figures from behind.
