The time has come for the last duel to determine who will be in the top four. It will be against Conner and the mystery duelist. At least they'll see who it is. Conner was all set to go with his friends watching. As Laura made her way over to them, Houki was the only one not present.
"How's Houki?" Senshi questioned.
"She's staying by Hector's side." Laura said. Since Hector lost his duel to Meldrick, his mind is lost to the shadows. Until it returns, he will never awaken. Conner only really cares that he gets to duel.
"It's time. Where is my opponent?" Conner said as he was ready to go.
"Here she comes now." Mila said. They all looked to the entrance and saw the mystery duelist come forward and stepped into the field.
"So, it's finally my turn." The mystery duelist claimed. "It took long enough, even though I knew this was going to happen. I also know that you're going to lose this duel, Conner."
"Someone is confident, but you clearly don't know who you're up against." Conner said.
"Wait just a minute. I feel like I know that voice." Charlotte said.
"As do I." Senshi claimed as the voice sounded so familiar.
"You mean you don't remember me? How could you forget me that easily?" The mystery duelist questioned. She took her cloak and threw it off to show that the mystery duelist was none other than Tatenashi. "Surprise! Happy to see me again?!"
"Tatenashi!" Senshi said as he, Charlotte, and Conner were shocked to see it was her.
"I remember you! You're that museum girl that persuaded me to start my tournament!" Conner said.
"It's Tatenashi in case you forgot my actual name. You think I "persuaded" you to start this tournament, but the truth is that I saw it coming." Tatenashi said as she tapped against her tiara.
"I can't believe that Tatenashi is really here!" Charlotte said.
"Isn't that the same girl you guys met at the museum?" Rin questioned.
"She is. She also holds the Mystic Tiara that allows her to see the future." Senshi said.
"I bet you're surprised to see me here, but I had every right to be in your little tournament." Tatenashi said. "I'm sorry, Conner. This might be your tournament, but I have foresaw that this win is going to be mine. I'm only telling you now so you won't be so surprised that you lost to me."
"Oh please. I didn't buy your nonsense before and I'm not buying it now." Conner said. "I honestly don't care that you're in my tournament. You're just another opponent for me to defeat, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. So, spare me your future lectures and let's just do this!" Conner was ready to go as he activated his duel disk.
"Have it your way." Tatenashi said as she activated her own duel disk.
"Now! The final duel between Conner Knight and Tatenashi will now begin!" Tate said.
"Let's duel!" They both said as they now had 4000LP.
"Ichika, do you really think this Tatenashi can defeat Conner?" Cecilia asked.
"I honestly can't say." Senshi claimed. "I've never seen Tatenashi duel before, but her artifact allows her to foresee the future. Perhaps she can defeat him. I suppose we'll find out soon enough."
"I'll be the one to kick this off!" Conner said. He looked in his hand and saw he already had one of his White-Eyes Silver Dragons. Once he gets the others, his plan will be put in action. "I'll begin my turn by summoning Peten the Fiend Clown!" He summoned out his clown as it came up with 900atk points. "Next, I activate my Dark Matter Converge! As long as this remains on the field, my dark monsters that have less than a thousand attack points has their attack points double!" Peten's attack points increased to 1800. "With that, I place one card facedown and that ends my turn."
"Starting things with your weak little clown so you can summon out your big bad dragon?" Tatenashi taunted.
"What?!" Conner said as he felt like she saw through him.
"You don't need to see the future to tell you plan to bring out your signature dragon." Tatenashi said. "It's my turn!" He drew her next card. "I'll start by summoning Akua Sword to the field!" She summoned out an aquatic-like man that held a swordfish like a real sword. It also had 1100atk points.
"Akua? Never heard of it. What does that even mean?" Rin questioned.
"I believe it's rough translation is "aqua". That must mean she uses a water-themed deck." Laura figured.
"Next, I will use my Akua Sword to build my circuit!" Tatenashi said as she opened up the circuit. "The summoning conditions are one water-attribute monster! That's what I have!" Her only monster went into the arrow pointing down and brought out a new monster. "I link summon Link One Akua Princess Jellyfish!" She summoned out a princess-like figure with her outfit designed after a jellyfish. She also had 1400atk points. Next, I activate Akua Sword's ability! When he's used to link summon a water attribute monster, he comes back to the field." Sword came back up with all power. "Also, when he comes back from his own ability, your monsters lose 700atk points." Her monster unleashed a series of slashes against Conner's clown with its attack power dropping to 1100. "Next, I activate my Princess Jellyfish's ability! I can summon a water attribute monster next to her link! I summon out Akua Lobster!" She summoned out another aquatic-like man with claws like a lobster's around his arms. He also had 1000atk points.
"She summoned three monsters in one turn! That's impressive!" Senshi said as he was amazed with how she was dueling.
"I'm afraid there's more. As long as Akua Lobster is on the field, all my Akua monsters gain an additional 300atk points." Tatenashi claimed as all her monsters power increased to 1300, 1400, and 1700atk points. "Now let's have some fun! Akua Lobster, take down Conner's little clown!" Her first monster went on the attack. He smashed the claws against Peten and destroyed it with Conner's life points dropping to 3800.
"Not bad, but did you see this coming!" Conner said as he played his trap. "My trap, Damaged Remains, allows me to draw two cards after my monster was destroyed. Your monsters also lose attack points equal to the damage I took until the end of this turn." He explained as he took two more cards.
"Big deal. That's only 200atk points." Tatenashi said as the attack points changed to 1100, 1200, and 1500. "My other two monsters can still attack you directly! Akua Sword, you first!" Her monster went on the attack as it slashed against Conner and his life points dropped to 2600. "Akua Princess Jellyfish, it's your turn! Aqua Shocker!" Her last monster gathered electricity in her hands and launched it all at Conner with Conner getting zapped and his life points dropped even more to 1100.
"Conner!" Mila called as she couldn't believe her brother was pushed back like that.
"I'll place one card facedown and that ends my turn." Tatenashi said. Since it was the end of her turn, her monsters attack points went back to how they were before Conner played his trap. "I know you're not giving up already, Conner. You got something that will restore your life points."
"Keep your ridiculous ideals to yourself." Conner said. "No one tells me how to duel, and I'm not buying your little act. My turn!" He drew his next card, but he was a little surprised at what he just drew. It was a card that did what Tatenashi said. 'It can't be! How did she know I would draw a card that would replenish my life points?!'
"What's wrong, Conner?" Tatenashi taunted. "You seem rather surprised? Is it that my "prediction" came true."
"Don't mock me!" Conner shouted. "It's just common sense to try and increase your life points! I play my spell card, Melody of Jubilation! This spell card allows me summon a monster from my hand, but it's attack points drop to zero and half of those attack points are added to my life points! Rise, White-Eyes Silver Dragon!" He summoned out his signature dragon as it came up with 3000atk points. However, those attack points didn't stay as they dropped all the way to zero while his life points increased to 2600.
"Wow! I can't believe Conner would weaken his best monster like that!" Cecilia said.
"Haven't you learned anything from watching him duel?" Rin questioned. "Conner would only do that if he had something bigger planned." She was right. Conner had something else in mind.
"Now it's time for the real fun to begin. I summon the tuner monster, White Shimmer!" Conner said as he summoned out a new monster that looked like a small angel with energy wings. It also had 400atk points. "Now watch as my dragon further evolves!"
"Like duh... You said your new monster is a tuner monster. That can only mean you're about to synchro summon." Tatenashi claimed.
"That's right. I tune my level one White Shimmer with my level eight White-Eyes Silver Dragon!" Conner said as his two monsters molecularly broke apart and came together into a circle and that one circle became nine with a beam shooting through. "Watch as this light pierces through all, good or evil! I synchro summon White-Eyes Shimmering Dragon!" Conner summoned out a new dragon that looked like it was coated in white armor and shimmered like it was a jewel. It also had a total of 3200atk points.
"Conner can synchro summon too?!" Rin said as they couldn't believe he pulled it off.
"This is only a sample of what I can do!" Conner said. "You thought you would be the winner, Tatenashi, but you're about to see how wrong you are! Next, I activate my dragon's special ability! I can now special summon a monster from my hand! I'm bringing out Fear Dragon!" Conner summoned out Fear Dragon as it emerged with 1500atk points. "You're in trouble now, Tatenashi!"
"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Tatenashi said as she didn't seem scared. "You're planning to attack my Akua Lobster since it has the lowest attack points. If that were to happen, I would lose 2900LP. However, that's not exactly going to happen. I play the trap: Akua Wave! This trap card prevents any of my Akua monsters from being destroyed, and any damage I take will be cut in half this turn!"
"Whatever, you're still taking some damage!" Conner claimed. "White-Eyes Shimmering Dragon, attack her Akua Lobster! Blast her with Shining Nova!" His dragon gathered power in its mouth and unleash an intense blast of light at Tatenashi's field. Her trap saved her monsters, but Tatenashi still took damage as her life points dropped to 2550. "Fear Dragon, it's your turn to attack!" Fear Dragon flew straight at the same monster and slashed its claws against Lobster. That caused her life points to drop down to 2450. "You might have saw that attack coming, but your prediction about you winning is dead wrong."
"Don't be so quick to judge now, Conner. There are forces the likes of which you couldn't comprehend at work." Tatenashi said. "Then again, you don't want to comprehend since you're so stubborn."
"I'm getting fed up with that nonsense you kept spouting." Conner said as he got annoyed with Tatenashi's talk. "I activate Shimmering Dragon's special ability! I can now add one monster from my deck to my hand. The one I choose is my second White-Eyes Silver Dragon!" He said as he took his second dragon. 'Tatenashi can claim she see the future all she likes, but the only who is going to make a future for me is me. She doesn't know what else my dragon can do.'
"You're planning to summon that dragon of yours next turn, aren't you?" Tatenashi said as she could see his strategy. "The reason you summoned Fear Dragon instead of White-Eyes Silver Dragon with that ability is because your new dragon doesn't allow you to summon the monster you just drew until your next turn."
"So, you spotted my dragon's weakness. Perhaps you do have some skill, but it still doesn't mean your prediction will come true." Conner claimed, but Tatenashi playfully laughed.
"You might think that way for now, but you'll see I'm right." Tatenashi said. "I believe it's my turn now. I draw!" She drew her card and it was just what she thought. 'Perfect, this is the card that will ensure my win against Conner. He might doubt my tiara's abilities, but he'll soon see how wrong he was.' She thought as she could actually see how the duel was going to end. 'Sorry, Conner. Your refusal to believe what's right before your eyes will soon be your downfall. That arrogance of yours is what will be the key to my win.' Tatenashi can see the future and she sees she is going to win. Is she right? Could this be where Conner loses in his own tournament?
