A/N: I was gonna hold on posting this until I finished the next chapter, however, I have written nothing. I didn't want to hold this up any more. Let's go to Hawaii.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck
"I forgot something," Chuck said, sitting up.
"It's a little late now… we are literally over the ocean," Sarah told him. They were in first-class seating, in the actual first-class cabin. Chuck had assured her that as long he was flying with her, it would be first class.
"Oh, I know." She looked around, and then leaned in. "You wanted to join the Mile-High Club?"
Chuck cleared his throat, and tried to command his face to not turn red. His face flatly refused to listen to him. "Not that I wouldn't mind… with you. But no, that was not what I was thinking about."
She tsked, making him turn even more red. "Fine, what boring, mundane thing did you forget?"
"Night before last, you were trying to talk to me when I was all mopey, and fell asleep on your shoulder," Chuck reminded her.
She grinned at him. "Well played; went for the emotional, instead of the physical."
"Sarah… I can do both, you know," he said in a low voice, his brown eyes flashing dark for a moment. She looked away, her neck turning the slightest hue of red. He smiled. "I just won one of these."
"Pretty sure even when you lose, you win," she replied. Chuck laughed. They had spent the day before packing for Hawaii; Chuck in their apartment, Sarah going to her parents' house, and bringing many clothes over. Or so Chuck thought. The clothes for the presentation were already picked out, Sarah having prepared those and ready to go. What slowed Chuck down was her 'inability' to choose swimsuits, as she had to model each for him to see which one he liked. His answer ended up being, "Yes, all of them."
"You two gonna join the Mile-High Club?" Molly asked, her head popping over the back of Chuck and Sarah' seats.
"Maybe we already have," Chuck retorted.
"Ooo, someone's feisty," Molly replied. "Still mad about Teddy trying to have that idiot sex up my sister?"
"Did we have to bring her?" Chuck asked Sarah.
"Wasn't my call," Sarah replied, shrugging. Zondra had told Sarah she needed everyone to pull this off, which meant bringing in Molly. Zondra and Sarah told Chuck that, while she was who she was, she was amazing at conferences. Chuck told them he believed them… he knew what she could do when she set her mind to it.
They were flying in three days before the conference for set up and planning, and staying three days after, in case anyone wanted a one-on-one meeting with them, since many of the attendees stayed afterwards for a vacation.
Sarah had shown him the place they were staying in Kappa, Kauai. The website had said Aston Islander on the Beach is a gem of the Coconut Coast of Kauai. Chuck had seen many websites that showed pictures that made a place look far more impressive than it actually was. But he wasn't sure how they could have faked the pictures he was seeing. The rooms looked nice, the hotel itself was of plantation style architecture. But what had captured Chuck's attention was the access to, and the view of, the beach.
"That looks like someplace you'd go on a honeymoon," Chuck had said, as he saw the website.
"Well, we can call this a practice run, as long as you finish all your work first," Sarah said into his ear as he'd stared at the website. Chuck had been caught up in the pictures, so it had taken him a second to process what she'd said, but then he'd done a slow turn toward her, seeing the grin on her face. "Maybe I won't need any of the swimsuits."
"Ignore her," Sarah said, bringing Chuck back from him memories, and out of his thoughts of the hotel, the beach, the practice honeymoon and Sarah's bikinis… or lack thereof. "We're going to have an amazing time, and no one is going to ruin it."
"Don't jinx it," Molly said. "It's a bioscience conference, so one of those idiots might have some type of… well…. something, and we all get infected."
"Oh, I'm getting infected, and there is only one cure for it," Sarah said, grinning as she flipped through her magazine. Chuck narrowed his eyes.
"She means she's getting infected with you, and sex with you is the only cure," Molly told Chuck.
"I figured that out," Chuck told her.
"Just trying to help," Molly said, as she sat back. "Oh, and dad really wants her married before she is pregnant," Molly added, popping back up and then sitting back.
Sarah shot Molly a look. "I'd have rather had a dog," Sarah muttered. Chuck didn't say anything. There was nothing he could think of to say to make him feel better, or comfort Sarah. "So, back to the original discussion: What did you forget?"
"Oh," Chuck said. "You said you and Ellie had a weird conversation."
"She said something to me about being a bridesmaid, but she's married," Sarah said, shaking her head. "I had to have misheard her."
"Actually, you probably didn't. Apparently, she and Awesome are considering doing a vow renewal thing to make the parents happy," Chuck explained.
"What do you mean, make the parents happy?" Sarah asked. Chuck snickered. "Wait, did your parents forbid Ellie marrying Devon?"
"Oh, no," Chuck told her. "Back when Devon and Ellie were trying to plan their wedding, both of their parents got really involved."
"How involved?" Sarah asked.
"Really," Chuck stressed. "Devon's mom, Honey-"
"Wait… Honey?" Sarah asked.
"Yep," Chuck replied. "His dad's name is Woody."
"Wait," Molly said, popping back up. "Devon, the hunk of man married to Ellie… what?" she asked, giving Sarah a look. "I'm not eating that prime rib, but it looks fine."
"Oh, Lord," Chuck groaned, and Sarah rolled her eyes.
"That man comes from two parents named Honey and Woody?" Molly asked.
Chuck nodded. "So, my mom and Honey butted heads, often. Ellie and Devon both tired of it, and went off and got married at the courthouse. Dad was hurt, because he wanted to give Ellie away."
"So, I need to quit teasing dad about us running off and getting married?" Sarah asked. Chuck shrugged. "Do you have an opinion?"
"I do," he said hesitantly. "It's the choice of the two people getting married on how to do things. Too often, parents stick their nose in and make it about what they would want, instead of what their children want."
"So, what do you want to do?" Sarah asked.
"I haven't thought about it, to be honest," Chuck said. Sarah nodded. "Now, Morgan, on the other hand…" Chuck trailed off.
"He's thought about his marriage?" Sarah asked.
"No, he's thought about my marriage," Chuck told her. She gave him a look, and all Chuck could do was shrug.

"Oh my God, it's beautiful," Chuck muttered as they arrived at the hotel.
"I mean, thanks, but I'm a she, not an it," Molly told Chuck. Sarah shook her head at her sister. "Oh, you meant the hotel… it's a'ight."
"Yeah, on the beach, six acres of tropical floral gardens, outdoor pools with hut-like cabanas, and a bar," Sarah began.
"I'm gonna get me a cabana boy, and have several drinks," Molly said, grinning.
Sarah rolled her eyes. "Plus, jet spa, beach loungers, bike rentals, barbecues, and an activities desk to help plan island adventures-"
"Oh, that's simple; just somewhere with you," Chuck said with a shrug. Sarah looked over at him. He had just said it, off the cuff. He was still looking around at everything. It hadn't been a line, it was just his honest opinion.
"You should know, I'm happy for you," Molly said in a low voice where Chuck couldn't hear. "You deserve him."
"I don't know about that, but I'm glad he's part of my life," Sarah told Molly.
Chuck pulled out his phone as the two talked. "C3PO, please don't do this," Chuck said softly.
"I don't know what you mean… sir," the app responded.
"I had to turn you off during the flight," Chuck whispered.
"No, you did not," C3PO countered. "You listened to their barbaric rules. I know what not to do on the plane. I understand the common smart phone… and that word is so ironic," and Chuck couldn't help but smile at that, "might do something and mess up the plane's navigation or flight controls, but I know better."
"I know you do, but the rules are the rules," Chuck told him.
"Master Chuck, please don't patronize me," C3PO replied. "You break the rules when it pleases you."
"You're right, and I'm sorry, but that would have been breaking a federal rule. And I get you wanted to be on, but is it any different than you powering down?" Chuck asked.
"It is… that would involve a request from you, or my desire," C3PO told him.
"Sarah talked about sex. A lot," Chuck said softly. There was silence for a moment.
"On second thought, maybe it was best," C3PO said. Chuck bit his bottom lip, to keep from laughing.

Zondra handed the two of them their keys, a twinkle in her eye. "What have you done?" Sarah asked.
"I got you two a suite, because I know you, Blondie. During these things, you like to practice what you do. So, I'm giving you the nice room, so Chuck can sleep, and you can do your thing," Zondra explained.
"Zondra, you don't have to," Sarah began.
"I'm actually doing it because I really need Chuck to be right on this one. I would like to do this twice a year. We're getting paid to be here." Zondra turned and looked out over the beach.
"She's got a point," Chuck admitted.
"Well, if you're going to do this twice a year, I'm your plus one," Sarah informed him.
"Always, baby," Chuck told her. She smiled at him.
"Let's go check out your room, and make sure it's satisfactory," Zondra said to Chuck.
"Why a BioScience conference, Zondra?" Chuck asked, as he followed the two women. "I mean, well… how do I ask this nicely?"
"What can we offer them?" Zondra asked. Chuck nodded. "I don't know if you realize this, but there are more women than ever entering the STEM fields. Not that there's enough, but it's a start."
"Okay," Chuck said, nodding and following.
"A lot of these guys… they're used to it being just them," Zondra continued.
"Oh," Chuck said with a nod. "So, you're here to gently remind them to be professional."
"Yeah, that's the nice way to put it," Zondra said with a grin. "Also, your girlfriend… or is it fiancé? Molly said you two were talking about a wedding."
"That would be Ellie and Devon renewing their vows in front of the family, because they eloped," Sarah said, giving Zondra an amused look, and shaking her head.
"Uh-huh," Zondra replied, skepticism coloring her words. "Anyway, while it's important for these scientists from different backgrounds to be in session about their fields, what we bring to the table lets them get away from things for a while." Chuck was silent, but he looked as though he had a question. "Go ahead and ask."
"Oh, I wasn't going to-"
"We have no idea if they'll listen to us about our subjects or not, or if they'll even attend our sessions," Sarah said, cutting him off. "Zondra and I have talked about it over and over, and the only way to find out is to try."
"I would think your presentation would work well," Chuck told her. "You have a doctorate, in Psychology no less." Sarah gave him a grateful smile. "What did I say?"
"You might think, but my science isn't quite as… hard, based in numbers, and as concrete as theirs," Sarah explained. "They don't see it as a pseudo-science or anything like that, but…"
"You're not as cool as them," Chuck finished for her. Sarah nodded, chuckling.
"We want it to work, but we're aware of what we're facing, Chuck," Zondra admitted. "That's why we want you. We know that you will do everything in your power to make this go as smoothly as you can, and that will save us a lot of stress and headache."
"So, you're not putting on this conference like others?" Chuck asked.
"Oh, no, we're more presenters than anything," Zondra replied. "So that's gonna help as well. We won't make as much, but…" She looked out over the beach and then at Chuck.
"There're things other than money," Chuck finished for her.
"Right," Zondra said, leading them to their room. Sarah unlocked the door, and Chuck followed the two inside.
"I love it," Sarah said. "I can work out here when I need to, and when it's time to stop, I can close that door and go to bed."
"Look at this view," Chuck muttered, looking out the sliding glass door to the ocean, seemingly just yards away. "This is…" He trailed off, stunned.
"We good?" Zondra asked. Sarah and Chuck both nodded, words escaping them at the moment. "Okay, now the bad news: I need to borrow him for a few, to check out how this is going to work."
"Fair enough," Sarah replied. "You care if I unpack for you?"
"Really? You don't live out of a suitcase during these?" Chuck asked.
"Maybe, if it's a short one. But we're going to be here a while, and you're with me…" She trailed off with a shrug. "It feels like home, when you're here."
"Oh, God," Zondra muttered, grinning. She grabbed Chuck's arm. "Come on, curls, I need to make sure this is gonna work."
"Hey, I'll make it work, I promise," Chuck told her.
"Z, you okay?" Sarah asked.
"Yeah," Zondra replied. "I just want this, you know. It's outside of our… wheelhouse?" Chuck and Sarah nodded, understanding. "It means a lot to me, professionally."
"Then let's go make this work," Chuck said. He turned and gave Sarah a peck on the lips. When he turned back toward Zondra, Sarah spun him, and kissed until he thought smoke would come out of his ears.
"I swear, just an hour," Zondra said with a grin. She steered Chuck toward the door, since his ability to navigate was questionable at the moment. They got out the door, and Chuck started walking on his own.
"Thanks for this, Zondra," Chuck told her. "This is amazing."
"Yeah, well, you're gonna earn it," Zondra told him. Chuck laughed. The two chatted as they walked toward the conference area. As they walked inside, Chuck's eyes went wide.
"What happened here?" Chuck asked.
"Well, the IT guy on staff at the hotel is supposed to be in charge of… well… IT," said the man who was currently looking on in horror at the cables running everywhere. "He's got food poisoning." The man turned to Chuck. "We have to find someone to do all of this or-"
"Hey, I can," Chuck told the panicked man. "I can wire all of this."
"Zondra Rizzo," Zondra said.
"Oh, Miss Rizzo," the man said, taking her hand and shaking it. "Can we borrow your IT guy?"
"Absolutely," Zondra said, smiling.
"I am Dr. Guy LaFleur, we spoke on the phone," Dr. LaFleur said.
"Oh, Dr. LaFleur," Zondra replied. "This is Chuck." Dr. LaFleur pumped Chuck's hand vigorously. "He's a tech wiz."
"Thank God!" Dr. LaFleur said. "So, I'll leave this to you."
"I got it," Chuck said, watching LaFleur walk off. He turned to Zondra. "Well, didn't that work out nice."
"Right," Zondra said, excited. "What could go wrong?"
A/N: *Taps lip with finger* BioScience Conference and Dr. Guy LaFleur…something about that sounds so familiar… Next time….you know.
