Chapter 4 – Doc Could Get It
Peering out my window the next morning after getting ready, I was greeted by a sight I hadn't seen in person since my previous life – outside was covered in snow, it having fell sometime during the night, still managing to stick and pile up, despite raining the day before.
I skipped out of my room, cheerily knocking a pattern on Bella's door, opening it upon hearing a faint "Come in."
"We've got snoooowww~" I sang, opening her door, leaning on the frame as I watched her finish brushing her hair, putting the brush down on her desk with a clack as she grunted in acknowledgement. "It's come down thick enough to not melt too soon like yesterday."
"I saw."
"Why, Bella," I grinned as she turned giving me a deadpan stare before I even finished my sentence "one would think that you didn't like snow."
"I don't." She replied bluntly, rolling her eyes as she picked up her bag brushing past me to begin the walk downstairs "Which you're well aware of, and I'm pretty sure I also mentioned it when it snowed yesterday."
I hopped off the last step, following her into the kitchen as she poured herself some cereal, holding the box up at me in silent question. I shook my head, instead popping some bread in the toaster, Bella passing me the butter as she placed the milk back in the fridge. "How much orange juice we got left?"
"Just enough for one glass." She replied shaking the carton "You can have it if you want."
"Nah, you got it out first. Just add it to the list." I told her as she poured it out, before grabbing a pen to scrawl on the list hung on the fridge door.
We fell into silence as we ate, both of us clinking our dishes into the sink after we'd finished to join dad's, the chief having already left by the time we'd got up this morning.
I locked up as Bella concentrated on making her way over to the truck, trying her hardest not to slip on the ice. I almost thought she made it before she lost her balance at the last hurdle, slipping once she reached the driver's door. Thankfully she managed to catch herself on the wing mirror before she could do herself any damage, breathing out an audible sigh of relief as she unlocked the door, pulling it open to climb inside.
My journey was a lot less uneventful, making it to the passenger side in record time as I hopped up into the cab that was already beginning to warm up. Bella slowly reversed out of the drive, being careful of the patches of ice we could see and doubly careful of any spots of black on the road just in case.
We made it to school later than usual because of the caution, but still on time, Bella finding a free spot, before pulling in carefully and cutting the engine. I grabbed my bag, exiting the cab first to walk around her side to help her get out in case there was any ice.
Bella shot me a grateful look as I helped her avoid the small patch that was just by her door, slamming the door closed behind her, only for her to pause as her eyes caught on something I'd already noticed.
The snow chains our dad had woken up early to put on our tires.
She met my eyes briefly before they flicked to look at something past my shoulder, only to snap in the other direction as a high-pitched screech echoed across the parking lot, the both of us angling towards the sound, seeing a van that had obviously been going too fast skidding wildly across the lot, heading directly for our truck.
And we were standing between them.
I grabbed Bella on impulse, adrenaline fuelling me as I pulled, lifted then pushed, managing to get her into the truck bed and somewhat into safety, my wrist straining under the pressure until I felt a distinct snap, the pain hitting me at first before dulling as adrenaline continued to course through my system.
Instinctively turning back to the threat that was still screeching its way towards me, my body not managing a full turn as something solid hit me, pinning me to the ground. Squeezing my eyes shut I braced for the pain that would undoubtedly make itself known, only for my eyes to fly open as I heard the crunching of metal above me, now seeing it had in fact been Edward who had knocked into me – and somewhat surprised that he'd still decided to intervene even though it was me and not Bella in the van's path, thanks to my intervention - his hand outstretched as he protected me from the van.
I squeezed my eyes shut again, hoping that he hadn't seen me open them and know that I'd seen his obvious display of inhuman strength very clearly. Ready to just wait out the entire accident with my eyes closed until Edward moves, which would probably mean it was now safe.
A hand gently squeezed my shoulder, the weight holding me down lifting once the screeching ceased, the only sound now being the rush of voices from the people watching "Vanessa, are you alright?"
I slowly pried my eyes open, peering up into Edward's concerned face "I think I heard my wrist snap when I threw Bella." I answered, involuntary tears already escaping my eyes from the pain.
"Let me see." He cautiously helped me rise to sitting, crouching in front of me as he reached for my wrist, lightly tugging my sleeve up as I flinched, revealing it to be swollen and bruised. He winced in sympathy as he gently began prodding it "Looks like you've at least sprained it, if not worse."
"Great." It was my dominant hand too. Looks like I'm going to have to talk Lauren into copying her notes…
"…Is it over?" Bella's head peered over the side of the truck bed, eyes widening as she spotted us "Vanessa! Oh my god, are you okay?!"
"I'm fine." I answered, shooting Cullen a look to keep his mouth shut as I discreetly lowered my sleeve. "Are you? I did practically throw you in there."
"I'm fine."
"She hit her head." Edward contradicted.
"Wha-?" She looked at him in disbelief "How do you even know that?"
"You were holding your head when you sat up." He reasoned. "Am I wrong? No? That's what I thought."
Bella changed tactics "How did you get over here so fast?"
"I was standing right next to you."
Now I already knew he was lying but wasn't going to call him on it. Bella however seemed about to before someone from outside the other side of the van called out to us "Don't move!"
"Get Tyler out of the van!" Someone else shouted.
"Don't get Tyler out of the van!" I shouted back a bit hysterically, trying to stand "Are you crazy?! You don't move someone that's been in a car accident unless you're an EMT!"
Edward held me in place "Just stay put for now. The teachers are already making their way over to stop them."
I settled back down trusting his words as Bella questioned "How do you know that?"
"I just do." He answered, though there was a bit of an edge to it.
Bella dropped the subject, only to go back to her earlier question "You were over there, you were by your car."
"No, I wasn't." He denied.
"I saw you." She argued.
"Bella," He sounded so frustrated "I was standing with you, and I pulled your sister out of the way."
I held up a hand weakly "Which I am thankful for."
She shot me a look of concern before shaking her head at Edward "No."
"Please, Bella." He asked.
"Why?"
"Trust me." Was all he said.
She narrowed her eyes at him "Will you promise to explain everything to me later?"
"Fine."
"Fine."
"Fine!" I joined in cheerily, Bella rolled her eyes with a quirk of her lips and even Edward looked a bit amused. "Now how long do you think it'll take for them to get us out of here?"
Their looks changed to concern upon seeing me wince, Bella asking "Are you sure you're okay?"
"She's hurt her wrist quite badly." Edward answered before I could, the traitor. I squinted at him unimpressed, to which his response was "What? I told you about her hitting her head. It only seemed fair."
I let out a sigh as Bella rambled at me in concern, this being the first time that I'd been the once injured and not her so she was at a little loss as what to do, seeming torn between trying to climb down from the truck bed to reach me or do the smart thing and wait for people to move the van away so there was more space.
Eventually the ambulance's arrived, the EMTs and two teachers, one of which I recognised as Mr Mason, lifted Tyler's van away from us enough that they could bring the stretchers in. I brushed mine off easily, showing my injury so I could get treated asap as Bella protested hers, only to be forced onto it and into a neck brace when Edward snitched on her having hit her head.
Police sirens announced our dad's arrival as Bella was being loaded into the ambulance I was already sat in "Bella!" He called, having caught sight of her first, making his way over quickly.
"I'm completely fine Char-dad, there's nothing wrong with me." Upon seeing his disbelieving look she decided to throw me under the bus "Vanessa isn't though."
With that said his eyes widened head snapping around as he looked for me, finally spotting me sitting on one of the seats inside of the ambulance, one of the EMTs sat next to me as she wrapped up my wrist to stabilise it before I could get it checked out at the hospital.
I raised my uninjured hand in a small wave "Hi dad."
"Vanessa!" He rushed over, looking at me in worry, obviously seeing the dried tear tracks on my face, his eyes shooting down to my wrist before turning to the EMT "How bad is it?"
She looked up having finally finished wrapping, turning to reach for an ice pack, snapping it as she answered "The bruising and swelling is bad for how little time has passed, I think it's likely either a snapped tendon or a break but we won't know for sure until she has an x-ray."
"Hey, just think of the positives. If it is a broken bone, it's my first one." I pointed out.
The EMT handed me the ice pack, patting me on the shoulder as she left "That doesn't really help, Vanessa." He sighed dejected "You've both only been here just over a week and have already been in an accident that could have cost you your lives."
I turned to look at the gurney that Bella was still laying on, having been lifted into the back while we'd been talking to see she was pretending to sleep. "…We're fine, dad."
The EMT returned, climbing into ambulance before he could respond "Both ambulances are ready to set off Chief Swan. Well get them seen by a doctor as quickly as possible."
"Yes you will." He replied, "and you'll be getting a police escort." The EMT nodded, moving further into the ambulance. He turned back to me, promising "I'll see you both after you get checked out."
I nodded with a smile calling after him as I remembered something just before the doors closed "Can you get mine and Bella's bags please!" I received an affirmative grunt as the doors clicked shut, the ambulance pulling away not long after, the sound of a police siren accompanying us to the hospital as we made our way there in what I assume was record time.
Upon arriving at the hospital we were taken directly into the ER, I being gestured to take an empty bed as Bella was loaded onto the one next to it, her neck still in the brace that she was no doubt loathing having to wear. The EMT who had treated me led over one of the nurses, likely having told her of the treatment I'd received onsite as she moved over to Bella instead, helping her sit up as she put a pressure cuff on her arm, noting down the results on her chart before taking her temperature, noting that down too before leaving.
I watched in amusement as Bella reached up to unstrap her neck brace as soon as the nurse was out of sight, throwing it under her bed with a huff. Tyler being wheeled in to be placed on the bed next to hers shortly after, head covered in bloodstained bandages that Bella turned away from, face already paling.
"Bella, Vanessa, I'm so sorry!" He apologised immediately upon spotting us.
I waved him off with my uninjured arm as Bella responded "We're fine, Tyler – you look awful, are you alright?"
He ignored her question "I thought I was going to kill you! I was going too fast, and I hit the ice wrong…"
"Don't worry about it, you missed us." She reassured.
"Barely…" I muttered. I wasn't nearly as forgiving as my sister in this, all of this could have been avoided if he'd just drove responsibly.
"How did you get out of the way so fast? You were there, and then you were gone…" He spoke more to himself than us at this point.
"Vanessa threw me into the truck bed," She bit her lip, flicking her eyes over to me briefly, hesitance showing as she added "…then Edward pulled her out of the way."
"Who?" Tyler snapped out of his daze, probably a bit dizzy from a combination of blood loss and likely hitting his head on impact.
"Edward Cullen, he was standing next to us…" She told him trailing off. I could tell she still didn't believe he was there and was likely hoping for Tyler to back her up unintentionally.
"Cullen?" His brows scrunched up in confusion "I didn't see him…wow, it was all so fast, I guess. Is he okay?"
"I think so. He's here somewhere, but they didn't make him use a stretcher." She finished, her tone making it obvious she was still a bit bitter at the fact that they made her use one.
It wasn't long before a nurse led us to another waiting room to get an x-ray, Bella being sent in first as if she did have a head injury it'd be more urgent. Luckily it didn't take that long, only the two of us actually needing to be x-rayed today. The upsides of it being such a small town I guess.
Unlike Bella however, who after getting her x-ray was sent back to wait in the ER where we'd arrived, I instead was sent to wait in a smaller room to wait for a doctor to check over my wrist as the injury was quite apparent even without an x-ray to check the bone inside.
I was waiting, idly swinging my legs from the place I'd sat on the cot all doctor's rooms seemed to have lined with tissue that didn't even cover the whole thing which made me think of what the point of it even was as the nurse who led me here tapped away at the computer.
And then he entered the room.
I'd never understood the appeal of doctor-patient roleplay until now. Oh. My. God. I thought taking in the indescribable beauty that was Carlisle Cullen. In my personal opinion he was on a complete other level to his 'children' and the movies really didn't do him justice.
"I heard the Chief's daughters were here." He greeted, holding a hand out to the nurse who relinquished my chart over to him almost as if bewitched "I've got this one, Jackie."
"Just me." I answered, smile spreading across my face once I'd got past being starstruck at how truly unbelievably beautiful the man in front of me was. "Bella was here earlier but she got sent back to wait in the ER while I got checked over."
He shot me a smile that any Hollywood actor wished they had "Then that makes you Vanessa."
You can call me whatever you like. Is what I thought, "Yup." Is what I actually said. "And you must be Doctor Cullen." A true bona fide DILF.
He turned away from my x-rays, raised an amused brow "I see my reputation precedes me. What gave me away?"
"You mean besides your dazzling good looks?" I flirted "It says it on your ID badge."
"Ah," He looked down at it as if he'd forgotten it was there, kind smile still on his face as he moved over to the cot where I was sat "a rookie mistake." He gestured toward my injured wrist "May I?"
I held my arm out to him wincing a bit at the movement, the coolness of his hands helping to ease the pain a little as he began studying the injury, brow furrowing as he focused on it "Can you try to straighten your fingers for me please, Miss Swan?"
"Vanessa." I corrected as I tried to do as he said with only a slight twitching to show for my efforts, the hand having already formed into a claw at this point "With their being two 'Miss Swans' in town and all, I think you can call me by my first name Doc, otherwise it'll just get confusing."
"Fair enough." He agreed easily "Vanessa, I've already looked over your x-rays and you luckily haven't broken the bone. Unluckily however, from your limited movement and from the amount of bruising and swelling I can say you have definitely torn your ligament. So we'll be putting a cast on it today." He gestured to the nurse "If you would please Jackie?"
She nodded before scurrying out of the room, presumably to fetch whatever they needed to apply it. The doctor shot me another smile as he politely excused himself to take the seat the nurse had just vacated, looking over what was presumably my medical file on the computer.
"So," I began, causing him to flick his eyes over to me briefly to show he was listening "I heard you weren't married."
A brow arched, the corner of his mouth twitching upward at my bluntness "You heard correctly."
"…and no girlfriend?" I asked in a tone that was anything but casual.
"No." Anything I could've said was cut off as the nurse re-entered the room, arms laden with supplies. Carlisle stood upon her entrance, taking them from her with a thank you as she moved to retake her previous seat, the doctor moving over to me to begin the casting process, the room falling into silence as he concentrated on his work.
"…boyfriend?" I asked eventually, continuing our earlier conversation as he pulled the fabric back over the plaster once it had been fully applied.
He didn't look up from his task as his smile twitched upwards "No."
"Are you looking?" I couldn't help but ask "Because I would gladly volunteer for the position."
"Of boyfriend?" He joked with a smile as he began cleaning up. How casual he was being about my forwardness really showed how used to being hit on he was.
"Girlfriend," I corrected, listing casually "lover, life partner…Whatever floats your boat really."
He let out an amused hum "Once your cast has set enough I'll escort you back to the ER where your sister is waiting, and then you should both be free to leave. Is this your dominant hand?" I nodded "I'll write you a note so your teachers understand that you either won't be able to write or will need extra time."
With that said he excused himself to talk to the nurse quietly before eventually making his way back over to check my cast. He checked it over for a moment, lightly pressing on it, deciding it had dried enough for it to be stable, walking back over to the desk to scrawl out the promised note to show my teachers.
"Hey Doc," I held out my wrist with an exaggerated flutter of my eyelashes "will you be the first to sign my cast?"
Letting out a chuckle he passed me my note before looking back over at the desk, hand hovering as he decided on a pen, eventually picking up a sharpie, pulling off the cap to begin writing 'Get well soon, C. Cullen' I peered down at the neat handwriting, casually asking before he could put the pen down "Can you write your number too?"
I turned to grin at the nurse who had finally stopped acting like she wasn't listening in every time I hit on him, as a snort of laughter escaped her from where she sat in the corner at the computer, turning it on Carlisle as I wiggled my eyebrows.
He let his lips turn up into a smirk, recapping the pen before placing it back in the holder "And have it out there for everyone to see? I think not."
"Oh that's okay, you can just give it to me privately then." I suggested with a light shrug.
He looked down at me faux scolding as I stood "Is this going to be a constant with you?"
"Oh, most definitely." I answered with a grin, it falling to a softer smile, amending as we exited the room waving goodbye to the nurse as we left "Though I'll stop if I'm making you uncomfortable."
His smile softened as he shook his head lightly "I assure you, I've experienced a lot more forward women than you. But thank you for your consideration."
"I'll have to step up my game then." I told him which earned me a chuckle as we turned a corner, only to pause as we came into view of an arguing Rosalie and Edward.
Rosalie was clearly furious with Edward who was standing his ground, jaw clenched stubbornly as they stared each other down, Rosalie's words coming out in a hiss "This isn't just about you, it's about all of us-" She cut herself off upon catching sight of us.
Carlilse shot them a strained smile, focusing his gaze on Edward "Edward, why don't you accompany Vanessa back to the ER while I have a word with Rosalie. I'll be joining you shortly."
Rosalie shot one last glare at Edward before walking off with Carlisle, Edward adopting a nonchalant air as he joined me, sending me a slightly strained smile as he began leading the way back to the ER where Bella still waited.
Edward pushed the door open, gesturing for me to enter first which I did, striding confidently over to the bed where Bella was pretending to sleep, and for good reason as Tyler in the next bed perked up at seeing me, more lucid than he was the last I saw him "Vanessa! I'm so sorr-"
I shushed him holding up a finger to my lips as I stared him down, watching him shrink back into himself at my stare "Your apologies don't mean a thing until you recognise what exactly it was you did wrong." I held up my injured hand to cut off his words, his mouth snapping shut as he took in my cast "If I were you I'd take the course my dad will no doubt suggest to your parents that you attend."
He hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Good." I responded, reaching over to briskly close the curtain between the two beds, completely cutting us off from Tyler's view. I turned back to see Edward watching me in amusement, his eyes flicking over to Bella's form as he asked "Is she sleeping?"
Upon hearing his voice my sister's eyes flew open as she sat up abruptly, eyes flicking around the room until they landed on where he stood at the end of her bed with a glare. "So, what's the verdict?" he asked, unphased.
"There's nothing wrong with me at all, but they won't let me go." She told him before accusing "How come you weren't strapped to a gurney like the rest of us?"
"It's all about who you know. But don't worry, I came to spring you." He told her, causing a look of confusion before the door to the ER swung open once more, admitting the man himself.
"So, Miss Swan," He met my eyes briefly, lips twitching upwards as he obviously recalled our previous conversation as Bella immediately corrected with her own name "Bella, how are you feeling?"
"I'm fine." She replied tiredly.
He picked up her file, holding up her x-rays to the light as he looked them over "Your x-rays look good, does your head hurt?" He asked in concern, slotting the photos back into their folder as he moved to gently prod at the back of her head "Edward said you hit it pretty hard."
"It's fine." She insisted, only to be betrayed by her own body as his hand brushed against where she had hit it, causing her to wince.
He probed around the area more carefully, removing his hand completely when she had no further reactions "Tender?"
"Not really." She denied, obviously just wanting to leave at this point.
"Well, your father is in the waiting room," He accepted her denial graciously, looking between Bella and I as he continued "I'm releasing the both of you to go home with him now. But come back if you feel dizzy or have trouble with your eyesight at all." The last part being directed solely at Bella.
She seemed glad for the release before the full meaning of his words hit her, her shoulders slumping as she asked "Can't I go back to school?"
"If you do, you're going back by yourself." I told her, holding my cast up for emphasis.
"Maybe you should take it easy today." Carlisle told her.
She jerked her chin towards Edward "Does he get to go to school?"
"Someone has to spread the good news that we survived." Said boy commented with a smirk, completely ignoring the glare my sister was shooting his way.
"Actually," The doctor cut in, seemingly amused "most of the school seems to be in the waiting room."
Bella instantly let out a groan "Oh no."
"Of course they are, this is probably the most interesting thing that's happened for a while and they get to miss class with the excuse of the accident." I told her, reaching out to pat her shoulder with my non-injured hand "Now let's go meet dad so I can also check if Lauren's there so I can blag her to start taking notes for me."
"Unless you want to stay?" Carlisle asked with an amused twinkle in his eye when Bella made no move to get up.
"No!" She denied, shooting up off the bed so quickly she stumbled, her only saving grace being the fact that both the doctor and I reached out a hand to catch her. "I'm fine."
The blonde turned away from Bella at her assurance, turning to me in concern, obviously having caught the fact that I'd instinctively reached out for her and in doing so used my injured wrist "Take some Advil for the pain. Please try not to stress it too much, and if it gets any worse come back so I can check it over."
"Thanks doc, will do."
"You were both extremely lucky today." He told us "I hope I don't see you back here too soon."
"Lucky Edward happened to be standing next to us." Bella couldn't help commenting.
"Oh, well, yes." For the first time since I'd met him I saw the doctor's expression close off somewhat, the man making his way decidedly over to Tyler's bed to flip through his chart. "I'm afraid that you'll have to stay with us just a little bit longer."
Damn Bella, did you have to push? I was enjoying looking at the blonde beauty… "Can I talk to you for a minute?" Apparently yes, as those were the words that left her mouth as soon as we left the room with Edward.
"Your father is waiting for you." Was his blunt response.
"I'd like to speak with you alone, if you don't mind."
"And that's my que to leave." Bella startled at my voice, shooting me an apologetic look as she had clearly forgotten I was there. I shot her a smile to say I didn't mind, giving them both a cheeky salute as I walked backwards "Don't get up to anything too saucy now you're without a chaperone kiddos."
With that I turned on my heel, walking away, following the signs until I made it to the door that led to the waiting room where we had been told both our dad and a good portion of students were waiting.
Pushing it open my dad immediately made his way over, apparently having been watching the door like a hawk the entire time he'd been here, waiting for us to come through "Vanessa! Are you okay? What did the doctor say?" He then noticed I was alone "And where's Bella, is she okay?"
"Dad, breathe." He stopped, taking in a breath to calm down "Bella's fine she'll be here in a minute she's just…thanking Edward for helping." I held up my cast "I didn't break it, but did tear the tendon. Doctor Cullen saw me and gave me this snazzy cast, look," I pointed to where he signed it "I even got his autograph."
He let out a quiet snort, gently taking my wrist to read it "Good man, great doctor. I hope you didn't give him any trouble." He shot me a knowing look "Did he prescribe you anything?"
"Nah," I shook my head "Just said to take some Advil and to come back if it got worse." I then caught sight of someone else in the waiting room, excusing myself, dad waved me off to go reassure my friends while he waited for Bella to join us.
I moved through the waiting room, pointedly ignoring all the other curious students who'd skipped school as I made my way over to Lauren who watched my approach with a scowl, crossing her arms. "You survived then."
"Yup." I replied popping the 'p' with a smile "got a battle wound though." I showed her my cast.
"I noticed." She commented, taking my arm, turning it so she could also read the writing "It's a bit plain, but I'll help you decorate it."
"Much appreciated…though there's also another favour I've gotta ask." At her raised eyebrow I continued "Could you, pretty please, copy your notes for the lessons we share?"
She let out a put-upon sigh, letting go of my arm, though I could tell she wasn't actually that bothered "I suppose so. Did 'C. Cullen' give you a doctor's note?"
"He did indeed." I patted the pocket where I'd shoved the note earlier.
Lauren nodded over to where my dad had just rushed to Bella as she entered the waiting room "Looks like you can go now."
"Looks like it." I shot her a wave as I moved to join them "See you tomorrow!" She waved back, readjusting her bag on her shoulder as she left, as unlike the rest of the students it seemed she had no reason to come to the hospital other than to make sure I was okay. What a sweetie.
No matter how hard she tries to hide it. I thought amused.
Bella spotted me first, looking relieved that I hadn't taken long as she directed us both to the entrance, avoiding the gazes of the few still loitering students "Let's go."
Thankfully he didn't question her urgency as we quickly left, piling into the cruiser, driving in silence until we eventually pulled up to the house. Dad's voice halting Bella as she reached for the doorhandle once he'd cut the engine "Uh…you need to call Renee."
"You told mom!" She looked at him accusingly, shoving the door open with a huff, slamming the door behind her.
He winced, rubbing the back of his head as he peered into the back where I still sat "Sorry."
"Hey it's okay." I assured him "Mom would've killed you if you hadn't told her… Bella's just a little sensitive at the moment, don't worry about it."
"If you say so…" He perked up exiting the car only to pull my door open "Here, pass me yours and Bella's school bags, I'll take them inside so you don't hurt your arm anymore." I did so, passing them one at a time from the seat next to me to his awaiting hands, him hovering concerned as I slid out of the cruiser, shutting the door behind me.
"It's my arm that's injured, not my leg you know." I commented with a fond roll of my eyes as we made our way through the front door that Bella had left open.
"I'm your father, I'm allowed to be concerned." He retorted mock stern "Even if it doesn't make sense."
"Whatever you say pops."
He dropped our bags in the living room, standing as if he didn't know what to do from there "Uh…I've called off work for the rest of the day in case you girls need me…do you need anything?"
"Some Advil would be great, but I'm not sure if we've got any…?" I trailed off.
"I-I don't think we do, I'll make a quick run to the shop." He decided, making his way over to the stairs "I'll go ask Bella if she needs anything before I go."
"Take the list off the fridge with you as well." I called up after him, hearing a distant call of agreement back as I settled down on the couch, kicking my shoes off as I began flicking through the channels for something to watch until dinner.
I googled and it said a cast could be put on in about 10 – 15 minutes, but a plaster splint would probably be used first until the swelling went down but hey I'm not medically trained in the slightest so let's just say she got a cast and be done with it. It's for the ~plot~ :') (also changed Tylenol to Advil which I had to look up what they called ibuprofen in the US)
I was honestly just gonna put her in a brace until that line about writing his number on it came to me lol couldn't resist.
Despite this being the fic I updated most recently I pushed this chapter ahead because of how many people have shown interest in this story, I'm happy you all like it!...However please don't try to passive aggressively pressure me to update in the reviews, it'll make me want to take longer 3
I warned y'all from the beginning that my updates would be random.
