Hello, I've had an idea for a slow burn Remione. It has been awhile since I last wrote. I anticipate this story to be 10 chapters. I have written up to chapter 6. Please let me know your thoughts, and bare with me!

Remus trudges softly down the stairs of Grimmauld Place out of fear waking up the occupants of the house. Yet another broken night haunts his sanity. Feeling caged in he decided to make his way to the kitchen to have a cup of tea. As he reaches the bottom of the stairs, he avoids the creaking step and steps down carefully. In the kitchen he fills the kettle with an unspoken Aguamenti and taps the magical powered stove with his wand to enflame the intended burner.
It has almost been a year after he moved in to Grimmauld Place. Harry and Hermione had moved in right after the war. They had done up the place and it lost its dreary feeling. It truly felt like home, especially when Teddy stayed with them. He knew it had been the right decision to end his marriage. It seemed that his relationship with Tonks had run its course. When the British wizarding world had started rebuilding, they had bought a lovely family home. For some time, everything seemed perfect and they were all happy. Teddy grew up to be a very happy and curious two-year-old. Tonks had settled into family life and worked as an Auror as part of the team searching for the last of the Death Eaters and Voldemort supporters with his Godson. As it was still a struggle to figure out how he could make a living and support his family even with his First Class Order of Merlin it took him some time to find his way. His affliction made a 'normal' fulltime job impossible. Hermione had been a big help as she informed him that in the Muggle World many people made a living as a Freelancer. With help of Hermione, Kingsley and Minerva he was able to work as a tutor for children that needed the extra help at Hogwarts, as well as a liaison for the Department of Magical Creature Regulation. This gave him the opportunity to manage his time with enough time to recoup from his affliction and gave him time with his family. Unfortunately, with Tonks' working hours, this meant that he didn't see his wife a lot and when they were able to spend time together it mostly ended up in a fight. When Tonks admitted that she had feelings for another, they decided to end things. It turned out for the best. They were able to stay friends and parent Teddy even better than before. Tonks got to pursue her interest in the other man, which turned out to be Charlie Weasley, and Remus got to spend much needed time with Harry and Teddy. He had lost his family and found another that was just his. The nights that Harry worked were mostly spend with Hermione. They'd spent hours in either the library, garden or kitchen talking and discussing about different interesting topics. He could confide in her about most matters. Were it work, family, love or just the news, Hermione would inform him or set him straight when she'd think he was wrong. When they'd disagree it could get heated, though it would never lead to a conflict. When conversation got heated, they'd agree to disagree or stop talking about that particular subject. After moments of silence one or the other would start talking about something else.
Though many issues in his life had sorted itself with time, there was still one big problem in his life that he would never be able to sort out. It was a part of him, as it will be until he takes his last breath. His transitions seemed to become harder every month. As a result, he couldn't even stay in his designated cage in the basement of Grimmauld Place. He'd start going wild, attacking the magical enforced cage door with no avail. Then he would turn on himself and start clawing and biting is own body. Hermione was kind enough to talk to Poppy to learn some more of healing magic to help him recover. It was as if the beast became stronger each month and would be even harder to control. In agreement with Minerva, he had been able to roam the Forbidden Forrest since a couple of months ago. Remus knew he was loved despite his animalistic nature; he knew he was awarded with the most prestige's award for his role in the war. Yet he couldn't share this with his family and friends. He didn't want to concern them, or Merlin forbid, scare them. He has been able to hide it for some months now but it he is losing his grip. Moony became unbearable, even outside of his monthly transformations. He kept speaking up and meddling in his affairs. Now unasked. And with Moony's growing control it seemed as if his own kept being depleted. He felt like he was losing his sanity.
Remus was brought back out of his musings as the kettle whistled. With a flick of the wrist his cup filled itself and his tea started to steep. His broken night was due to his nightmares. Nightmares from the war and sometimes nightmares where he would destroy everything in sight as wolf. In his nightmares it wasn't just Moony, no he as Remus, would hurt people. The people he loved. He leaned back in the seat and propped his bare feet crossed over each other on the table. With a groan he rubbed his forehead with measured movements up and down. He felt Moony starting to nibble on his conscious again. He spoke of going to the Forbidden Forrest to hunt and run. To run wild and be free. In the hope of distraction, he started to rattle his agenda for the next day. He had scheduled two tutoring sessions. First a seventh year needed help with his DADA and a third year with Herbology. He had already gone over the lessons he had prepared but began listing them again as Moony seemed to keep increasing his volume. That is how Hermione found him. He seemed to be half sitting, half laying down on his chair and the table with his head in his hand whilst muttering about stance, wand movement and clear pronunciation.
"Remus?" Hermione asked softly.
Hermione had startled him. Why didn't he hear or smell her approaching? From the deep recesses of his mind a gravelly voice answered him: "Because you would ruin all the fun, human.". Moony. Remus couldn't help but let out an exasperated moan. What are you talking about? "You know exactly what I mean." Moony answered.
"Remus, are you okay?" Within a few steps Hermione was beside him and caressed the side of his face with a worried expression. It occurred to him he still hadn't answered the one person he should actually be talking to. He groaned. "I'm alright, Hermione. Just couldn't sleep. Really, I'm fine." Remus said as kindly as he could whilst laying his hand on hers that was still grazing his right cheek.
Hermione peered at him with a keen eye. "Are you sure? The colouring of your eyes is rather peculiar."
Remus quickly put his feet firmly on the ground and stood. "What do you mean?" Inside his head Moony butted in. "She sees us, she knows, human." "What does she see?!" Remus grounded out in harsh tones. He just forgot to use his 'inside' voice. Hermione took a step back as soon as Remus had stood up. She quickly pulled back her hand as if burned by his rigid behaviour. The height difference was substantial. Remus took in her shocked expression and sighed. His shoulders slumped and he sat back down. "See what you did? The witch wanted to touch us. You know she couldn't resist our touch. Her heat is approaching, we can smell it." Moony's rough voice dripped with excitement. Moony was struggling for control as he felt his right leg move on its own. Remus quickly curbed the movement by stomping his feet firmly down where he himself had put it. Moony then moved their nose up in the air and exaggeratedly inhaled the air around them. It registered quickly with both Remus and Moony, it was fear. Remus flustered with shame, Moony felt giddy with excitement.
With red cheeks Remus dared to look up to Hermione. She stood a foot from him eying him with worry in her eyes still gripping the hand that had caressed his cheek. He didn't who was controlling which part of his body or mind for certain. As he spoke, he noticed his hand had shot out to Hermione. "I apologize, Hermione. I am not feeling so well after all."
Hermione took him in. Remus sat restless as his arms and legs kept moving either towards her or stiffly against his body. His voice sounded strangled. His eyes kept shifting from his familiar soft green eyes to a shimmering caramel. His posture was strained. She carefully took a small step towards him. "You feel awfully warm, and your eyes keep shifting. What is the matter Remus? Let me help you." Her words seemed to bare down on Remus. He let his head fall back against the chair and squeezed his eyes shut. "Truly, Hermione, I need to figure this out by myself. I will come to you when I need help. Please just go back to sleep."
"Remus, you are worrying me. Let me get Harry." As soon as she had turned around and turned towards the hall Moony shot up and grabbed her from behind. Within mere seconds his arm had wound around her waist and she was pulled into his chest. "Remus!" Hermione squeaked.
Moony's lowered his face and rested his lips against her ear. "Do not move, witch. The cub is not needed. We are fine how we are, aren't we?" As soon as the gruff whispers of Moony hit her ear shell goosebumps flittered over her body. His free arm touched her shoulder and gently made its way down her arm. At her wrist his fingers caressed the sensitive skin, when his nails lightly scraped against the skin, she let out a shudder. "When were you last touched, witch? And I do not mean by your own naughty fingers. When did a man last worship your beautiful body, nipped at your lovely pale skin, or lapped up your sweet excitement? Don't answer for I already know the answer. I can smell it on you. It reveals it all to me. At any given time, I can smell your desires, your emotions. I have known since you howled for me." Moony crooned.
Hermione felt herself fall deeper under his spell. His touch, his voice, his pheromones. Yet his words angered her. She felt betrayed, by her own body, but betrayed all the same. Remus had never mentioned or acknowledged any of this. Her hand searched the pocket of her shorts for her wand but found it gone. "Please, Moony."
"Yes, witch, beg me." Moony crouched down further to sniff, nip, and lick her neck. His own excitement was rubbed against her in pulsing movements. She couldn't help but gasp wantonly as the sensations pulsed through her body. Her body seemed out of her control. Moony played her body as if he had done it before. He expertly targeted all of her most sensitive spots. Suddenly his arm tightened painfully around her before releasing her at once. Quickly she turned around and stepped away from him. Moony stood unmoving gripping the arm that had held her. He fell to his knees whilst groaning. Both his arms steadied him against the floor as an animalistic sound came from his throat. Remus then shouted out a booming: "RUN!", followed by a mixture of a whine and a growl. Hermione didn't need to be told twice and bolted out of the kitchen. Within record time she found the Floo in the living room and threw down the green powder whilst practically screaming for the Ministry of Magic as tears streamed down her face.
Preview of next chapter:
Hermione took a step back and just stared at him. She just looked at him in disbelief. As a new flood of tears found their way to her tear ducts, she buried her head in her hands. Pacing she tried to gather her thoughts. She knew he was right, she still found him to be a gigantic asshole as well. She smoothed her hair back and stepped back up to Harry. With a terse intake of breath and a soft snivel she steadied her voice. "Well, what do you suggest, Auror Potter?"
