In a small cottage in Hogsmeade, Alice Longbottom sat on the floor. She was bored. Her father was at work, and her baby brother was taking a nap. Her mother usually paid more attention to her, but right now she had a visitor. While Alice made her little toy horse run around, she could hear her mother and Hermione talking to each other. She was not sure what the adults were talking about.
"More and more house elves are being set free," Hermione said. "Most of them are now employed by and still live with their former masters, but it's a start."
"That makes sense," her mother said. "Most of them probably don't know how to do things like use money."
"Yeah. I feel like I need a new cause. You wouldn't have any ideas, would you?"
"I do. I believe that not only are witches and wizards not superior to muggles but that we should all stop hiding from muggles. Something I really liked in your book that could be used as evidence for this too, was when you compared wizards enslaving house elves to muggles enslaving other muggles, and to muggles persecuting witches, and pointed out that both of those things are things muggles stopped doing a long time ago."
One of the family snakes, slithered up to Alice. "Adult humans can be so boring, sometimes," he whispered.
"Yeah," Alice whispered back. She soon heard the familiar sound of her father pulling his bicycle up to the house. "Daddy's home," she yelled, jumping up
Her mother looked toward the door and smiled, as the door opened.
