A bunch of Fic ideas/challenges that I had but don't plan on writing. Most are Naruto Fics but there are others in the mix. Each chapter will be a different Fic idea. All of them are up for adoption, the only thing that I ask in return is that you PM me if you write any of them so I can read it too! You don't even need to credit me lol.
MIND'S EYE
One day, during his second year in the Academy, Naruto was attacked by a drunken Shinobi (this should be an isolated incident. Naruto should not be constantly attacked). The unfortunate event cost the boy's sight (if I am not mistaken, the Uchiha massacre happened at the end of Rookie 9's first year in the Academy. It is important that Naruto's blindness happens after the Massacre so, adjust the timing of the incident accordingly).
But trauma wasn't the only thing Naruto got from the attack. After regaining consciousness, Naruto unlocked a powerful Uzumaki ability: The Mind's Eye of the Kagura. It was only thanks to this skill that he would be able to continue to pursue his dream.
Before detailing Naruto's sensory skills, I shall quote Naruto's Fandom Wiki about Karin's sensory skills:
"Karin possesses a unique ability called the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, which allows her to sense any targets' chakra signature. Sasuke states that her sensory abilities are unlike any other. Unlike most sensors, who normally need to mold chakra beforehand, Karin appears able to detect chakra targets without any conscious effort. Using this ability, Karin can detect the presence of others, easily discerning a specific individual, even its species, from a great distance, letting her easily track the target. She can determine the size of a target's chakra reserves and its potency, and even tell when someone was lying because their dishonest emotions cause their chakra to fluctuate. Karin can also tell if one is trapped in Genjutsu, including herself. Similarly, she can completely conceal her own chakra from others. However, she cannot use her chakra for other feats while doing so, thereby disabling her own abilities."
Naruto's Mind's Eye (which is active 24/7) is stronger than Karin's. Beyond the sensory abilities displayed by Karin in canon, Naruto is able to sense Negative Emotions (like Kurama and Mito) and Chakra Networks (like the Byakugan). He is also able to faintly sense Nature Chakra (just enough for him not stumble into inanimate objects. This will be drastically increased once he becomes a Sage). Naruto is also be able to predict people's movements and Jutsu by reading their Chakra (similar to the Sharingan), this also means that he is be able to copy Jutsu.
Naruto is also be able to sense people's chakra affinity (and also how strong their other elements are. i.e, Naruto is able to tell that Kakashi's affinity is Raiton, but also that his Doton is a bit stronger than the remaining three). Naruto's understanding of Chakra skyrocketed, meaning that his Control over it has also increase drastically. His Mind's Eye also allowed him to sense the Kyūbi's Chakra sealed within him shortly after it's awakening. His senses cover a circular area around him and in all directions (without any breaches, like the one the Byakugan's field of vision has), but how big this area is should be for you to decide.
Still, the incident took its toll on the boy's already fragile psyche and he needed professional help from Yamanaka Inoichi. After the incident, Inoichi was conversing with his wife about Naruto. Unfortunately, his daughter Ino, eavesdropped part of it. On the occasion, Ino learned about the incident, Naruto's blindness and his condition as the Kyūbi's Jinchūriki. Tearing up upon hearing so many bad things that happened her classmate, Ino confronted her father and Inoichi was forced to bring his daughter to the Hokage, for only Hiruzen had the authority to clarify the situation to Ino.
Hiruzen explained everything to Ino and asked her to keep secrecy. He also told the girl that Naruto would get a new set of eyes and she didn't have to worry about it (that was a lie, though. After awakening his Mind's Eye, Naruto refused a transplant. But Hiruzen found it wise to keep his new ability secret. So, Naruto would wear goggles all the time in front of people [its lenses should be like sun glasses, you know?] and, if anyone who knew about the incident but not about his ability questioned him about the goggles, he would simply say that his new eyes became sensitive to light).
Ino was relieved that Naruto would be ok, but she started to respect and admire him a great deal after her meeting with Hiruzen. She would become curious to know him better and, once he returned to the Academy, she would begin to hang out with Naruto more and more.
Naruto, on his end, would be a bit subdued for a while after the incident, but the sessions with Inoichi helped him to bounce back quickly. Other than that, the World was a completely new thing for the boy. Even though it was kinda terrible to sense all negative emotions the villagers had about him, "seeing" everything with his Chakra was amazing and a beautiful experience. But what intrigued Naruto the most was how good and beautiful the Chakra of the Yamanaka heiress felt.
And that's it! Just a quick and random idea that popped out of nowhere. The most intriguing part of this idea, to me, is how the relationship between Naruto and Ino would be. I mean, Ino is a girl that likes to look pretty, but Naruto would never be able to see how pretty she is on the outside. On the other hand, Naruto would be the only one to truly know how beautiful she is on the inside, assuming that a person's personality and character are reflected on how their Chakra feels to Naruto. And, judging by how her Chakra fascinated Naruto, it is safe to say that Ino should be, at least, a good person.
