CENTRAL CITY:

The news was going over the lockdown for the safety of everyone after the Deathstorm attacks. Back in P.A.R.K.E.R. Industries, they were working on the Electro trapper to send the power into Frost's body. While they do that, Peter was talking over his part of the plan with everyone else.

"So, we're actually going to turn Frost into some Anti-Deathstorm?" Karen asked as she was flying on its roof, making the modifications.

"We now know that Deathstorm is made out of pure thermodynamic energy, we can use the ET, Cisco made me call it that, to harness particles from his home dimension and beam them into you," Barry said as he gestured to Frost.

"This would mean that it'll turn you into a being similar to Deathstorm," Reed informs Frost. "Generate fire, defy gravity, and possibly suck the grief out of Deathstorm himself."

"Once he's weak enough, Rider comes in and finishes the job," Barry confirmed.

"Okay, this has to be the craziest thing we've ever done," Tina stated.

Peter was kneeling and holding Caitlin's hand, feeling the heat remediating off of her. Her condition was getting worse after her encounter with Deathstorm, trying to make her ready to come for her.

Caitlin began to stir in her sleep and Peter shushed her to let her sleep. "Rest. I promise you this will all be over when you wake up."

"You really think this crazy plan will actually work?" Frost asks Peter, talking about what he plans to do.

"It has to. We need to stop Deathstorm." Peter stated. "Reed said that we have an hour before he has the machine ready."

"We have any other backup coming?" Frost wonders.

"The kids got in touch with Maggie, she's coming, and Dawn is gonna bring the National City heroes," Peter answered her and stopped when he felt something off.

He started to walk off and looked out into the hall. His senses are warning him that something coming, getting him to think it's Deathstorm

"What?" Frost asks.

"Something's wrong," Peter whispered, wondering where it was coming from. "Stay here."

With that, he walks down the halls and wonders why his senses are going off softly, unlike before during the first encounter with Deathstorm. He kept going down the halls and turned left, wondering where he was going.

As he kept going, all of the lights down the halls started to turn off, giving him a sense of dread. All across the facility, everyone else watched as all the lights were turned off and leaving them all in the dark.

"Karen?" Reed called out from the labs as he was working on the E.P. "Anyone there?"

Frost was just in the break room, which is right across from the medical labs when the alert went off of an anomaly in the building.

"He's here," Frost said in shock.

"Actually, I'm everywhere," Deathstorm claimed, getting Frost to jump and turn to face with Deathstorm as Ronnie again. Acting fast, she sent a blast of mist towards the monster, only for it to go right through and freeze a few of the cabinets. "And nowhere. I was born a long time ago. Before Maltus. Before the stars. I was there when the first gas cloud sank and collapsed. I was there when the first beings drew their final breaths. I am decline. I am entropy. I am the master of death and all of its inhabitants."

And just like that, all across the building, all of the heroes were all looking at the loved ones who they thought were once gone.

Ollie looked and was face to face with his father, who had been dead for five years.

Peter looked and was face to face with May Parker.

Barry looked and was face to face with Nora Allen.

Ashley however, having nobody to grieve, was stuck looking at her angered snowy hair half-sister, ready to finish her off.

Karen was shocked when she turned and saw her mother whom she watched murdered by Brainiac in her home dimension.

Violet looked around and started to look in terror when she saw her mom was back from the dead.

Reed was back looking at Johnny while looking into the

Armando was looking around and noticed his father looking at someone before noticing it was Dante.

Daniel was also a late arrival when he looked and saw he was face to face with his mother, Sue.

Tommy, Aster, and Tina were next to Robbie, wondering what was happening.

Frost stayed there and stared into Deathstorm's eyes and kept him there, wondering what her next move was going to be if she can't touch him.

"Guys, I'm seeing dead people!" Daniel called from the commlinks. "My mom's here!"

"It's Deathstorm. He's somewhere in the building." Peter contacted the rest of them. "May's here."

"So's my mom!" Violet called in terror.

Deathstorm then had enough of it and destroyed her commlink. "That's better. Where I'm from, there's too much noise."

Frost then created an icicle spear and raised it to his neck. "If you even take one step towards Caity, I'll send you back to the hell you came from."

"My home is much farther than hell," Deathstorm informed her. "Or at least it was until the singularity formed and Ronnie died. His life gave me life. His grief gave me hunger. His love became my guiding light."

Frost took a moment, thinking of what he said, and wondered what she could even say after that. "So, you're trying to take my sister 'cause you're lonely?"

"You don't know what it's like to live in the Dark Dimension," Deathstorm replied to that, earning shock from Frost, remembering Battleworld and the Batman Who Laughs. "Ronnie's feelings showed me how to end my suffering."

"I'll show you suffering." Frost declared as she went for a second attack, which did nothing when she impaled it into him.

It only seemed to slightly annoy Deathstorm as he took it out of his stomach and tossed it away. "You can't hurt me. But you're still fighting back...just like your father intended."

"So, what? You got my father alter ego hiding somewhere so that you can sic his grief ghost on me? Because news flash, I have no remorse for Icicle." Crystal declared as Deathstorm started to walk around.

"My phantoms only appear to those who can grieve them, which is why you won't be having any visitors," Deathstorm stated as he didn't even bother looking at her as he walked around the room.

"What the hell does that mean?" Crystal asks him, wondering what he was talking about.

"The true reason you won't be having visitors is because your grief and pain aren't real." Deathstorm declared as he just kept walking around.

"Well, I wish I knew that all those nights I was scarfing down chunks of ice cream while crying watching those Disney movies before my son was born." Crystal scoffed, remembering the time that she was pregnant with Aster/Zero. "Or the ten hours of labor of excruciating pain."

"The pain and sadness that you've experienced in your existence is just a copy," Deathstorm informed her as he finally faced her and walked over to her, "an echo of real emotion. Like all of your feelings. Like you."

Crystal scoffed, knowing he was just trying to get into her head. "You're so full of it."

"Then why can't I sense any loss inside your mind?" Deathstorm asked her. "Why can't I sense those hormones dancing along your neural receptors? It's because when Thomas built you in his lab, he gave you everything you'd need to protect Caitlin. Cryo-kineticism, healing, rage, but the rest of you is copied from her. Cloned a few feelings, a few tinkering personality traits. But he never built you your own consciences. Grief and pain. Those are things that make people truly alive, and you don't have them. Because you are not a real person!"

Crystal was ready to attack when she noticed someone was behind him.

"You're a faulty experiment, a broken mirror who can't aid me in my cause." Deathstorm continued on.

"Hey, asshole!" Sub-Zero called out, getting Deathstorm to turn and face him. "Nobody gets to talk to my mother that way!"

Zero then blasts a giant mist of ice at him, which Deathstorm doesn't even respond to as he stood there and took it. It stayed like that when Crystal also saw this wasn't his full plan and let it play out.

"Did you really think this would work?" Deathstorm asked him.

"No," Zero admitted as he stopped and turned to Aster.

"It was just to give him an opening," Aster said with a grin.

That's when a chain wrapped around the man, and it bursts into flames, revealing that the Ghost Rider was there, and he was given an opening to get rid of him by scorching this illusion of him.

"Thanks, guys. He was getting on my nerves." Crystal tells them.

"Don't thank me yet. I killed the illusion, not the real thing." Robbie warns her.

"Where are the others?" Aster asks his mother.

"If I had to guess? Living their worst nightmares." Crystal answered.

"Well, we found Karen talking to her dead mother on the way up, along with Reed and Cisco confronting their brothers. Afterward, she left to get us Anjelica, Maggie, Dawn, and Roberta," Robbie informs her. "Cisco and Reed are finishing up the machine."

"Good. The sooner he's done, the faster we end this." Crystal declared. "Go save the others, I'll check on their process."

Peter stood there, looking at May as she just stood there with that grin on her face that she always had.

"No. I'm not doing this." Peter declared as he went over and opened the door only to scorch his hand due to the heat. "Gah!"

"Ohh, did it get hot in here, or is it just the building?" May asked, even adding that terrible humor she always had.

Peter would love to see her again if he didn't know this was just Deathstorm trying to mess with his head. "No." He scoffed, wondering what he was gonna do now since he can't break the walls in his own company like that. He just needed to wait it out until the others come and get him. "You're not May. You're just one of Deathstorm's manipulations. You're here to mess with my head so Ronnie can get to Caitlin."

"How can you say that, Peter?" May asked him in shock. "I'm your aunt."

"No, you're not!" Peter cried as he marched over to her, noticing the scared look in her eyes. "You're a figment of my imagination and my grief for not being able to save you that day!"

"So you're still blaming yourself?" May asked him.

"I'm always blaming myself!" Peter stated as he walked over to her. "I'm always blaming myself for everything that happened. For Ronnie. For Eddie...not anymore, since, you know, he's alive. For Ben. Everyone. But I've tried to move on."

"Dad?" April asked from the doorway, getting his attention when he saw that she, Anjelica, Maggie, and Dawn were there in the doorway.

"Oh, thank god." Peter sighed in relief as he walked away, leaving the illusion to them.

Ashley was currently being blasted down the halls and skidding against the floor before getting up and facing the dark evil version of Tina marching over to her. Groaning, Ashley pulled herself together as she got up and pulled out her gloves with the claws. Marching down the halls, Evil Tina formed an icicle in her hand and dragged it against the walls.

"When did my life become some weird horror movie?" Ashley asked as she got ready to fight.

"The day that you were born, most likely." Evil Tina scoffed as she went to stab Ashley, only for her to use her claws as grapplehooks and slide across the ground and away from the impaling monster.

"Oh, I get it." Ashley started to see what was happening. "You're working off of my insecurities since I have nobody to truly grieve."

"Well, I see why you would be afraid of her." Evil Tina stated as she looked over herself. "You were the monster that ruined her life."

"In my defense, I was taken advantage of in an emotional state," Ashley said casually as if her life wasn't threatened.

"Everything is such a joke with you, isn't it?" Evil Tina asked as she walked over and punched Ashley in the face, causing her to take a few steps back. Before she could even react, Evil Tina grabbed her and held her by the throat. "Everyone would be better off if you never existed!"

Ashley tried to fight back and free herself but even with her claws, they did nothing to the illusion that was trying to kill her.

"You are a cancer who destroys everything she touches!" Evil Tina cried in anger. "You killed May." She then created an icicle again, ready to drive it into her stomach. "Now I get to kill-"

Before she could finish, a web came in and pulled her off of Ashley, allowing her to drop to the floor and breath. When she looked to see her savior, she was shocked when she saw it was the real Tina standing there in between her evil counterpart and Ashley.

"You're right," Tina told her evil self. "She is the one responsible for May's death. She wanted to get back at us for something we never did." She then looked down at Ashley and saw the tears in her eyes. "But you never saw the story from her perspective. We were rich, and to the public eye, the perfect family. Nobody knew our father had two halves of a wife with three children from the two of them." She then looked back to her evil self, taking all of this to heart. "And here she was. Poor, wearing hand-me-down clothes, and living in an orphanage. She was left behind. She had a reason to rebel and come after us. She was led to believe we left her. But that's not why we go after her. We blame her for May's death because the alternative would be to blame us for not stopping it before she died." She then looked to Ashley who was shocked at the revelation. "I've been giving her a hard time instead of treating her as she is. My sister. Whether I like it or not, we are sisters. Making her family." She then looked over to Evil Tina and growled. "And this is what happens if you mess with my family..."

Robbie came up behind her and grabbed her neck, causing the illusion to burst into flames, whilst screaming in agony.

Tina couldn't believe what she had said and realized everything she said was true. "You okay?" She asked as she helped Ashley back on her feet. "Didn't break anything?"

"Nothing I can't walk off," Ashley promises her as she dusted herself off. "You have quite the grip on you."

"Thanks?" Tina didn't know how to take that.

"Did you mean what you said back there?" Ashley asks, wondering if things were cool with them now.

"I'm still pissed," Tina admitted she still has a moment of confession. "But I think I can start to forgive you."

"Thanks. I promise I won't stab you in the back." Ashley promises her.

"Your actions will speak louder than your words," Tina replied as they walked off to find everyone else.

"Oh, thank god!" April cried in relief as she walked over and hugged her sisters. "That means I don't need to choose a side anymore!"

"Whose side were you on originally?" Tina asks.

"Neither," April admitted. "A little hurt I didn't get a ghost visit."

"Neither did I," Tina admitted. "But I guess Dad's dealing with May."

"Not anymore. We took care of him." April assures her.

While Robbie was making his rounds when Frost came downstairs to see how Reed and Cisco were doing after being warned Caitlin is falling deeper into Deathstorm's bride.

"Is it ready yet?" Crystal asked as Aster stayed with his aunt.

"Well, after that weird setback..." Reed tried to make sense of what happened. "Where's Peter?"

"Getting his and Maggie's part of the job ready," Tina said as Barry and Dawn sped into the room.

"Everyone has their demons taken care of now, thanks to Robbie," Barry informed everyone.

"Good thing we brought him in," Cisco said when he saw Roberta in her suit. "Hey, there's my handiwork. How's my suit treating you?"

"Pretty nice," Roberta admitted.

"Yeah? How are the wings?" Cisco asks her.

"The what?" Anjelica and Roberta ask him in shock.

"What?" Cisco asked in shock. "Did you not try out those wings?"

"Wing?" Roberta asked when suddenly two red wings came out from the back of her suit and lined up with her arms.

"Whoa!" Anjelica called as she backed up in shock.

"Well, with that out of the way, we're ready," Reed informs them.

Frost stepped inside the machine just as Robbie and Peter ran in when the particles were released. They watched as a blue blinding light consumed the chamber and they waited to see something happen.

As the machine continued, they saw Crystal start to hold onto the grief of her life. Everything that Deathstorm she could never feel. As she felt all of it, she felt herself gaining more power.

When she stepped out of the machine, Frost had been transformed into her usual getup, just completely black as well as her hair turning all black. "Whew! I've never felt this warm in my life!"

"Dang, you just got hotter," Peter commented, the pun completely intended.

"Time that we give Deathstorm a piece of his own medicine," Frost tells Peter.

"Right behind you, sexy." Peter complimented, not even joking about her look. "Let's go save Cait."

As the night came to the dawn, the team all stayed back while in the medical lab, Caitlin stood there in the opening. Feeling all of her grief, Deathstorm came in as Ronnie while walking up behind her.

"You're almost ready, Caitlin," Deathstorm said as he approached her from behind. "I can sense all that grief inside of you. I've waited so long to end my solitude. Time to get ready for our honeymoon, my bride. Because I want eternity to start right now."

That's when Caitlin turned around and smiled before morphing and revealing to be Maggie. "What can I say? Am I that good an actor I can act full of grief?"

"What?" Deathstorm asked in shock.

Frost then came out and blasted Deathstorm backward into the wall. "Payback, bitch."

Peter then came over and punched Deathstorm in the face. "When will you learn? You can't defeat me!"

"Maybe not." Peter shrugged, agreeing with him before grabbing his hand and showing a smile. "But I know he can."

That's when he started to grunt, and smoke started to come off his head before his skin started to burn and melt away. Deathstorm looked in fear as Peter revealed to him that he has the Spirit of Vengeance inside of him.

When the smoke cleared off of Peter, he was revealed to now be in a clothless white body with a spider symbol on the chest and a skull with blue flames on his head. Growling in anger, the Ghost Rider was here for vengeance, and he will have it.

The new Ghost Spider was getting up and shot several strands of webbing at him, tying him up before Frost came over and grabbed him. "Not so tough now, are you?"

But Deathstorm wasn't going down that easily as he blasted off into the sky, bringing Frost with him. Ghost Spider turned to the other side of the room before Violet came in and opened a portal to where they were currently heading.

"Let's go," Violet tells him

With Deathstorm and Frost, they were flying through the air together before Deathstorm separated herself. Getting a few feet away from her, he got ready to send blasts at her. Revealing to her that she was fighting the real deal, and not some illusion.

"I will burn you to ash!" Deathstorm proclaims.

"You first!" Frost replied as she started to get the hang of flying around.

She sent a giant blast of energy at Deathstorm before flying in to tackle him and fly through the city once more. Skidding against a few of the windows and bricks before separating and both of them send a beam of energy at one another.

Noticing he isn't going to win this fight, Deathstorm slammed his hands together and sent a shockwave to send Frost flying and falling. Before she could hit the ground, however, a portal opened, allowing Ghost Spider to walk out and catch her.

"Thanks," Frost tells Peter as she got to her own feet and Deathstorm came back down.

"You can't keep me from my bride!" Deathstorm declared. "You can't keep me from my bride! Who do you think you are?!"

Ghost Spider snarked as he approached him, creating a web that bursts into flames. "Her husband!"

He swung the web and wrapped it around Deathstorm, stopping him from escaping. Frost then started to approach as Deathstorm was being held down by her husband.

Frost then ripped off the Firestorm Matrix. "Go to hell!"

Deathstorm cried in pain as Ghost Spider finally had the disconnection that he needed from the mortal realm to finish the job. But as she stood there, Violet watched as the grief started to come towards her, causing her entire body to glow blue and immediately change to orange as she started to fly.

"Whoa...what's happening?" Violet asks as she tried to come back to the ground.

Frost decided Peter has this and took off before grabbing the flying girl. But just then, a giant glowing silver ball came flying in and was revealed to be the Silver Surfer in full health as he grabbed the child.

"You are safe." The Silver Surfer assured her.

"Looks like we have a new color and power," Frost said as she eyed the Surfer. "And look who's finally awake."

Ghost Spider then grabbed Deathstorm and went face to face with the monster. "Look into my eyes..." Deathstorm saw what he was trying to do and tried to pry himself free of the hero.

The Rider was going to use the Penance Stare. Something that induces self-mortification by imposing him or her every negative action, behavior, sensation, and sin to the pain of others that individual has ever committed in their lifetime.

For Deathstorm, it meant feeling the grief and pain of every person that he had engulfed in his entire existence as he turned into a burning crisp. The Ghost Spider roared in his victory as he cried out and his head burst into flames as his body cooled off the energy he absorbed.

Back in the building, Caitlin woke up with a gasp. Looking to her right, Reed was shocked to see she was awake.

"Oh, god, guys, she's awake," Reed informed the team through the halls.

"What happened?" Caitlin asked in shock, not remembering much.

"It's a long story. Which involves your husband bursting into flames to save your life." Reed informed her. "He's fine, don't worry."

Back with the Ghost Spider, he started to descend back inside of Peter, allowing the man to stand back out in the open with his Spider-Suit back on. Groaning, he fell to his knees to try and get his bearings after everything he had just gone through.

"I know we call me a hothead, but that was a step too far," Peter muttered in a shutter after everything.

Frost rolled her eyes as she made it over and helped him stand up. "You good?"

"I feel hot," Peter admitted in a joking manner. "Unlike you...who's smoking."

"Taking advantage of the no comms?" Frost asked as she wrapped her arms around his head.

"I'm running on adrenaline with a demon inside me. And I ain't referring to the Rider." Peter told her flirtatiously.

"Watch it, buddy," Frost warmed him jokingly as she leaned in closer. "You're playing with fire."

"And you just saw I can take the burn," Peter stated as he lifted his mask enough to kiss her.

"Uh..." Violet snapped them out of it when they looked over towards the girl. "Remember, there is a child present."

"You can open portals." Frost reminded her. "Go be somewhere else."

Violet rolled her eyes when she noticed someone getting up. "AHH!"

Looking in the direction that she was looking, they noticed something that shocked them to their core. Ronnie Raymond was rising to his feet, before immediately being blasted back by Violet, who was glowing yellow. Implying she used an energy blast.

Frost went to go take care of him again when Peter stopped her. "Wait. The Rider scorched him away."

Crystal looked over at him, wondering what he was talking about. "You're saying..."

Spider Ghost then burst out for a quick second as he looked between the two of them. "Deathstorm is gone. But Ronnie Raymond's soul was clean."

Then the Rider turned back and let Peter look shocked at the revelation that Ronnie Raymond was actually alive.

After everything was settled down, Barry and Cisco were in the labs looking over the last problem they have, which is the killer robot. Reed packed up after getting the power out of Frost, and Ronnie went back home after taking back the rider.

"So, how's Ronnie?" Cisco asked Barry.

"According to Caitlin. In a coma for the time being." Barry answered. "Any news on our Robocop?"

"A little slow. It'd help if I knew its origins." Cisco admitted. "Seems Karen has taken a liking to our Silver Surfer friend."

"Took that guy a while to get out of his coma from our encounter. I wonder who did that to him." Karen commented as she came down to see them. "How are things down here?"

"Safe. Now." Barry was happy to say.

Then that's when she got a look at the robot that Cisco was tearing apart and shrieked at the sight. "Gah!"

"What is it?" Barry asked her.

"This is bad. Worse than I'd imagined." Karen said in fear as she stumbled backward, trying to get away from the bot. "I thought he was lost in the destruction of my world...The way it stands now, I'm not sure I could have prepared for this."

"Prepared for what?" Cisco asks.

"Karen, do you know who created this?" Barry asks her.

"Yes. And if he's here...you have already lost the planet..." Karen was sorry to say.

Out into the void darkness, a hand grasped control of something as it zoomed in on Peter, back in his casual Spider-Man attire. And Crystal, who was back normal, waiting for their friend who called them in.

Suddenly, Barry came speeding up and circled them. "Thanks for meeting me."

"It's been a long day, man. Make it quick, please." Peter asked of him.

The man then reached and started to target the remaining three heroes he has yet to capture.

"Karen has brought to light some details about the robot," Barry informed them. "We think someone is coming. And this same someone is the person that the Silver Surfer tried to warn us about."

"The guy went to inform Alex everything he tried to warn us about," Peter admitted where he went, as Alex is the go-to dealing with aliens. "We're shorthanded if it's just the three of us."

"We need backup." Frost agreed.

"I think it's time," Peter said as he looked at Barry. "Protocol YJ."

Barry was shocked to hear that as they haven't talked much about activating it officially. "You think they're ready?"

"Lois said Clark was recently taken, we need the help," Peter tells him. But then his senses went off and he knew something was coming. "Watch out!"

Peter pushed Barry out of the way, just when a forcefield surrounded him and Frost, causing them to jump and look for a way out. Frost started to blast the forcefield to try and free them when her hands started to be transported.

"What the hell?" Frost asked. "Peter!"

Peter saw there was nothing he can do when he looked and saw the same was happening to him. Looking to Barry, the only hero left, there was only one thing they can do.

"Barry...activate the protocol," Peter begged Barry as he was abducted.

Barry saw there was only one thing he could do and raced off back into the basement of P.A.R.K.E.R. Industries where he heard the whirring of something coming for him. Making it over, he activated the computers and pulled up Gideon.

"Hello, authorization required." Gideon said as Barry pulled his glove off and used the thumb scanner to read him. "Recognized. Welcome, Barry Allen."

Barry then watched as the computer screen pulled up all the locations of all the members. Sadly, the only few that were left with only Metalla and Kid-Arachnid.

"Would you like to activate a protocol?" Gideon asked him.

"YES!" Barry screamed into the computer as he hears something coming down the stairs and puts downstairs into lockdown.

Unknowingly, behind him, the robot they thought was shut down came to life and started to make its way over to him.

"Activate Protocol YJ," Barry begs as the robot made its way over and the ones at the door were trying to break it down.

"Are you sure?" Gideon asked him.

"YES!" Barry cried just as the robot came and knocked him out from behind, rendering the Speedster unconscious.

"Activate Protocol: Young Justice," Gideon confirmed.

Back at the Snow-Parker household, BB-8 woke up with an alert showing on his face when he ran and got the attention of all the kids, including Tula and Violet. When they came over and saw what was wrong, a hologram of their father was projected from the robot.

"Hello. My name is Peter Parker. But you most likely already know that." Peter said, showing to be wearing the old red and black suit he used to wear up until recently.

"This is a pre-recorded message. Taken a while after the Crisis on Infinite What If's." Kara Danvers proclaimed on another projection for Anjelica, Roberta, Dawn, and Cessily as they watched the recording.

"And if you're watching this, then that means the tracker has identified that either most or all members of the Justice League are missing." Kate Kane said while Terry was watching the recording in the Batcave.

"And that means you were placed on a protocol we put in place in case the day came that the Justice League was taken out."

Maggie was watching this on her phone as she was shocked to hear the news in her home.

Ollie was also watching it on his suit as he was fixing up some things when his mask started to beep.

"This was meant to be a 'passing of the torch type situation'. But it seems now we are either dead or captured."

"And everyone who has this message will soon receive a message attached to show where to meet the other members."

Mia was listening to the message as she was currently on her motorcycle, driving off towards the said location.

"According to the alert, the place the protocol was activated was on high alert. Meaning that you might be getting visitors somewhere pretty soon."

"Meaning the world is under attack..."

"And that is the reason why..."

"...above all else..."

"...why we put together...

"...the Young Justice Protocol..."

"Good luck."

"And goodbye..."

LOCATION ATTACHMENT:

All of the members of the team then suddenly heard whirring and lights shining as they noticed that someone was coming.

?:

Barry groaned as he opened his eyes and saw he was in some weird ship. It was all dark, with gigantic circular windows at the front of the ship, and what looked to be a gigantic chair with wires sticking where the head would go.

"Good." Someone said, making Barry look and see that Peter was also on board with his mask off. "At least I'm not alone."

"Peter." Barry sighed as he removed his cowl. "Where are we?"

"My guess? Somewhere around Mars or Saturn." Peter said as he gestured outside, and they saw they were indeed nowhere near Earth. "But where's Frost?"

"Who has this type of advanced technology?" Barry wondered as he looked around and felt the surface of the ship.

"Your victory over your battle with Deathstorm warrants further study." A new voice neither of them have ever heard before said, getting them into defensive positions.

They looked and watched as a portion of the floor raised, revealing a gigantic bundle of...what can be described only as replicas of Otto Octavius' arms started to retract, releasing the person who was in the middle of it all.

This person had a tall, muscular build, a bit large and humanoid, green-skinned alien being with no hair. He has cybernetic prosthetics and protective armor warping his body, with little purple tubes around his head.

"Greed skin. My money's on alien." Peter told Barry.

"Could he be a Martain?" Barry wondered. "Like J'onn?"

"My point of origin was a thousand light-years removed from Mars." Their captor informed them, getting up and walking towards them as Barry and Peter backed away a little. "I am from the planet Colu. I am... Brainiac."

That shocked both of the heroes, as they'd heard stories from Brainy about his murderous cousin who had destroyed hundreds of worlds. But they were told he was stopped eons ago. But then that's when the two heroes came to the same conclusion on what could've changed things on such a large scale such as him.

Crisis.

Or Battleworld.

Before either of them could fight back, the Brainiac sent giant tentacles that grabbed and wrapped around the two of them, cutting off Peter's fingers from the rest of his gadgets, and Barry off from his legs and the ground so he couldn't use his speed.

"What...the hell...do you want?" Barry asked as he tried to pry himself free.

Brainiac then brought the two of them over to the window and looked to see his current plot setting him on a course for earth. "I seek the beings known simply as Kryptonians. For years, I believed Krypton and all its residents were destroyed. But I discovered that there are a number of them that survived and escaped to your world. An oversight that must be corrected. Yet, your planet has also piqued my interest at this time. Its many contradictions are fascinating." He stated as he turned to the two of them. "The two of you, like many others such as yourselves, have dealt with challenges that you shouldn't have been able to overcome alone. And yet, you have. It's fascinating."

"Sounds like we have a secret admirer," Peter told Barry.

"We'll never serve you!" Barry promised, seeing this guy only wanted them for the powerset they possess.

"Serve?" Brainiac asked, confused by what he was saying. "I am no petty despot. I collect worlds, preserving their essential knowledge to enhance my intellect...and then I discard the remains."

"Why?" Peter asked, not following his ideal.

The two were then brought so they were in between Brainiac and the window. "Your species values precious metals." He informed the two as they constantly tried to pry themselves free. "Arbitrary symbols of status." He then gestured to the rest of the ship, which they saw looked almost like an alien computer. "I value knowledge. And like your metal trinkets, knowledge is more valuable when it is rare."
