Avoidance

Brandon woke up the next day. He noticed that Harry was still curled into his side and smiled. A quick tempest charm showed that it was five o'clock in the morning. He gently shook Harry awake. Harry opened his eyes.

"Morning kiddo."

"Morning daddy." Harry said as he sat up rubbing his eyes in a cute way.

Harry cuddled into Brandon's side even more. Brandon smiled at the action. Even though he wanted his son to socialize with people other than his family, he loved his son the way he was and understood why he didn't want friends.

"Good, both of you are awake." They turned and saw Madam Pomfrey.

She summoned a house elf. She was upset that they didn't eat anything last night, but was glad to see that they were awake to eat breakfast. She snapped out of her thoughts as Dotty, a house elf, popped into the room.

"Bring these two some breakfast."

The house elf snapped her fingers and breakfast appeared on a tray at the end of the hospital bed. Dotty popped out of the room. Brandon brought the tray onto his lap. They both started eating breakfast. Poppy nodded in satisfaction and went back to her office.

"Eat then go get ready for class."

"Okay."

They ate before Harry left to go get ready. Brandon left to go visit his sister-in-law. He remembered where her office was and just opened the room. Minerva glared at him, making him flinch.

"Do you ever knock?"

"No."

"What do you want?"

"Are you blaming me for yesterday?"

"Absolutely."

"Yeah me too."

"Good."

"I am leaving, but I wanted to make sure that Harry can sleep in your rooms until the students stop fearing him."

"My nephew will always be able to stay in my rooms."

"Goodbye Minerva."

"Bye Brandon."

(With Harry)

As soon as Harry stepped into the Ravenclaw common room every student backed away from him in fear. Harry pretended he didn't notice. Harry showered then changed clothes and went to History of Magic.

He used his magic to find the secret passage ways that would take him to the classroom quicker. When he arrived he sat in the back. He had the class with Gryffindor.

The students filed into the room. They all made sure to avoid Harry at all costs. Mr. Binns entered the room and started lecturing about the Gargoyle Strike of 1911. Harry took notes as he pretended that he didn't notice the looks of fear and distrust.

When the class ended Harry left as quickly as he could. He ran out to the court yard to go to the mandatory flying lesson. Harry didn't like the idea of leaving the ground at all nor facing any more students.

Madam Hooch noticed the young boy and remembered the meeting they had last night after dinner. She remembered all of what Minerva said about him.

[All the professors were in the staff lounge. They had all been stunned by the boy's power.

"Minerva explained what had happened." Dumbledore demanded as soon as he entered the room.

"Please do not expel him. He has a lot of power and his feelings make it unstable." She took a deep breath before continuing. "He is able to control his power around his family, but with so many people around he lost control."

"Is he going to be able to control it now? Are the other students safe?" Dumbledore asked.

"Yes he is. This is a rare occasion that he has lost control. For Merlin's sake he is an eleven year old boy." That made most of the professors look guilty. "Anyway he will be staying with me for a while." She walked towards the door before she looked over her shoulder. "He may be mature and act like he is an adult, but he is still a child. His grandfather will most likely come here to help Harry out. Please do not judge him on this accident."

She slammed the door behind her. The look on her face stunned most of the professors. The room was in stunned silence before Flitwick spoke.

"She is right. That boy is here to learn how to control his magic, just like all the students here are. We should give him a chance." He left after that.

"I agree with Filius." Sprout said and she too left.

The rest of the professors left with most agreeing. Dumbledore was the last to leave. He hoped that the boy was okay after what had happened. He felt foolish for forgetting that the boy was only eleven and therefore only a child.]

Madam Hooch looked at the boy and understood why Minerva said about the boy. She also saw how everyone avoided him. She shook her head and blew her whistle. She began class as soon as everyone was silent.

"Stand on the right side of the broom." She began and started lecturing the students on the dangers of flying. "Put your right hand over the broom and say up." She instructed after her lecture.

While Harry was powerful the broom never left the ground. Even when he said up in a confident voice the broom remained on the ground. Madam Hooch saw that Harry was the only one who couldn't get the broom up.

"Is there a problem Mr. Reese?" She asked. Sometimes when a child is too scared the broom will remain on the ground.

"Yes. The broom will not come up."

"Are you frightened of flying?"

"No. I may prefer to stay on the ground, but I am not afraid of flying or heights."

Madam Hooch frowned at that. She could tell that Harry was telling the truth. She wondered what the problem was.

"I have no idea what is wrong. Go sit on the bench." Harry nodded and followed her instructions.

He took out a potion journal and started reading. He read until class was over and then went to the Great Hall for lunch. When he sat down at the Ravenclaw table the students near him scooted as far away as they could.

Minerva saw her nephew's eyes darken. He ate quickly then left for the dungeons for his double potion lesson. He sat down and continued to read his potion journal. When the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws arrived they made sure that they were all on the other side of the hallway and no one was anywhere near Harry.

Professor Snape arrived and they all entered the classroom after Harry had entered. This time when they sat down, they left a working space on either side of Harry. Snape noticed this, but started the class.

"Today we will be learning all about the cure for boils. It seems as if most of you dunderheads used the wrong types of ingredients last time. That is why all, but Mr. Reese, failed to make the potion." His scowl deepened. "Mr. Reese begin your potion while I teach the rest of you since it is obvious you can't read. Make sure to follow the instructions from your Magical Drafts and Potions book." He glared at all except for Harry and began to lecture on snake fangs and which species of snake's went into the potion.

By the time Harry was done with the first part and began the second, Snape had finished his lecture and Snape started to lecture them on the reason why the porcupine quills should be added when the cauldron is off the fire and the consequences of what could happen when it is not. It was now the second half of double potions.

Harry finished the potion before the other students began making the potion. He bottled it up, labeled it, and put it on the desk. Harry left the room and went down to his aunt's rooms to make himself some dinner.

Harry ate and then cleaned up. He laid down on the sofa. He knew that his aunt would like to talk to him, but he didn't want to talk. He fell asleep worrying over what his aunt would say. He believed that his aunt was disappointed in him.
