Punishments

The Potters and the Weasleys were in Dumbledore's office. The Potters were confused while the Weasley's wondered what their son had done now. Unlike the Potters they knew that their son didn't deserve special treatment and were already on him for his grades.

"Albus, why are we here?" Lily asked as she looked at her old headmaster.

"As you know both your children are already failing?" He paused.

"Albus, I can't believe that my little boy is failing." Lily said.

"Mrs. Potter, I have given you a report of his grades. Their grades aren't the issue. Both of your childre-" Dumbledore stopped before he went over to his pensive and placed a memory into it. "This is a memory of what happened. Please take a look."

They did as they were told. After a few minutes they had completely viewed the memory. The Weasleys looked shocked and angry while the Potters looked shocked.

"Both boys will be in detention for a week for harassing and attempting to bully another student. They also won't be allowed any privileges for a week." Both parents nodded in agreement.

"Ronald Weasley, how dare you say those things to another person. You are going to write an apology letter to the poor boy." His mother scolded him. "Also you are to be tutored by Percy so that your grades may improve."

"Yes mother."

Meanwhile on the other side of the room James Potter was punishing his son. "Godric Potter, I thought I taught you better but apparently I have spoiled you way too much. I want you to apologize to the other student as well as studying to bring up your grades. If you are still failing by the winter holidays you will stay here. From now on if you want something you are going to have to work for it and that means that when you are home you will be doing chores."

"James, I think that is a harsh punishment for a small disagreement." The whole room was silent when they heard what Lily said.

"Lily, I believe that the punishment is fit for his crime. He harassed another because he was doing better than Godric and then tried to bully him. I will not have him turn into the bully I was during school." James told his wife. "Godric can't treat people like they are beneath him. It is not only wrong but rude."

Lily and Godric looked at James in shock. They weren't the only ones, everyone in the room, including Dumbledore, looked at him in shock.

"What?" James asked when he noticed everyone stare at him.

"It is just a shock to hear you say something mature." Replied Dumbledore.

"HEY!" James exclaimed, offended.

"It's the truth."

"True." James said as he shrugged before he opened his mouth again to speak. "Wh-"

Dumbledore cut him off. "His office."

James flooed out before he flooed back with Sirius and dragged him away. Dumbledore's eyes twinkled even more.

They reached the office and James knocked on the door. "Enter." Drawled a familiar voice.

They entered and once Severus recognized the pair he scowled but James and Sirius spoke before he could.

"We're sorry."

"What?"

"We are sorry for what we did to you when we were in school. We were wrong." James started.

"After the prank that nearly killed you James and I realized that we weren't being funny we were being down right nasty and bullying you." Sirius continued.

"Even though we were in Gryffindor we couldn't find the courage to tell you we were sorry."

"It was the reason we stopped pranking you and bullying you."

Severus looked at the two who tormented him until after the incident that almost cost him his life. He was shocked by what he was hearing.

"Apologies accepted. Now, get out. I have to grade these dunderheads' homework as well as write up an apprentice contract."

The two nodded and turned to leave. The two knew that what they had done would never be forgotten nor would it be easy to fix the damage they knew they had done but they sure as hell were going to try.

(With Harry and Allen)

Allen had received word from Minerva about the incident and made his way back to her rooms. He just couldn't believe the idiocy of the two 11 year old Gryffindor boys. He gave the password before he entered.

"Harry?" He called since he wasn't in the sitting room nor was he in the kitchenette.

"In the bathroom." Harry said as he opened the door to the bathroom and walked out, towel drying his hair.

"You okay?" Harry tilted his head, smiled and nodded. "Tell me what happened. Your aunt only said that two first year boys from Gryffindor were harassing you and failed to bully you."

Harry walked over to the couch and sat down before recalling what happened a couple hours ago. He knew that his grandfather would be proud with how he handled things.

"You did very well. Tell me, how did your magic feel?"

"It felt like it was trying to burst out of my skin and attack but I did the breathing we did this morning during meditation and it calmed down. After that it felt like it pooled in my hand and waited for me to signal it to attack." For once in his life Harry was confused about a subject and it must have shown on his face since his grandfather started to explain.

"Listen carefully Harry because this is very important." Harry nodded in understanding so Allen continued. "All magic is sentimental especially when it is being wielded by us magical folk. If we are in danger our magic reacts to protect us. It is the same when we are happy, sad, or even angry. Magic is there for us whenever and however we need it. Understand?"

"I think so. If I am feeling overwhelmed my magic is there to help me like it did when I was five and made dad feel my emotions."

"Correct."

"So my magic was ready to explode because I was hurt and angry but when I calmed down it decided to pool in my hands so I would be able to use it quickly if the need arose for it."

Allen smiled proudly at his grandson. "Yes."

"Then I completely understand."

"Good. Now let us get something to eat before we go back to training."

"Okay grandpa." Harry stood up and went over to the kitchenette to help his grandpa cook.

Minerva, who had been told what happened with the two lions, entered her room only to smile at the sight before her. Allen, who she knew was a good cook, was showing Harry how to make one of his grandmother's roasted chicken recipes. Harry was listening to everything he was saying but he was also laughing and looked to be covered in flour.

"Didn't you just take a shower Harry?" The two were startled by her voice and spun around to see her.

"Yup." Harry said as he popped the P. "Grandpa had the bag of flour on the counter and he tripped over his foot and knocked into the bag and the bag landed on me." Harry grinned impishly at his grandfather who huffed and turned his nose into the air.

"Why I never. In my day children who tattled had their tongues cut out."

"In your day people lived in caves." Harry said as he smirked at his grandfather.

Allen glared down at his grandson who blinked at him innocently. Emerald green eyes stared into another set of emerald green before the three occupants in the room burst out laughing.

"Brat." Allen said fondly to his grandson after he calmed down.

"Yeah but I'm your brat."

"Wouldn't have it any other way."

Minerva flicked her wand and both the kitchenette floor and Harry were clean. The boys finished lunch and the three ate before Minerva left to go grade papers and the boys to go train. This time Allen was teaching his grandson how to focus on feeling his magic.

(Gryffindor tower)

Ron and Godric entered the tower pissed. They couldn't believe that they were being punished. How could the boy-who-lived and his friend get into trouble? It just didn't make sense to them.

"Ron get over here." Percy said as he came from his dorm with first year books.

"Coming." Ron replied miserably.

Percy had already been told what had happened. His parents said that if he tutored his brother then he would receive a scholarship that would allow him to take the course in Administrative law that is taught at the ministry. Before Arthur had been working overtime so that they could pay for the class and if all went well then Percy would get to take the class.

Percy felt bad for doing this to them but he wanted a better life than his parents. He only hoped that his dad would get promoted to head of the department soon. His dad could have had a better job before but he loved the department he was in. Hopefully all will be well soon. He understood though. His dad wanted to be happy and have fun as he worked and another department wouldn't give him that.

However, thanks to the headmaster Dumbledore, he would be getting a scholarship that paid for the class, books, school supplies, and even the robes required for the class. He quickly told them that he would do it.

Percy glared at Godric before he started his tutor lesson with his brother. He blamed Godric for the changes. Before they started hanging out Ron used to help their parents out around the house and was willing to learn. They met two years ago and became friends and then Ron changed. He stopped helping, became really lazy, and stopped wanting to learn.

Godric on the other hand pouted as Ron left. He then went up to the dorm so that he could sulk. He was still shocked that he was being punished and by his dad no less. Usually his dad didn't punish him. Sure he told him not to be a bully, but in Godric's head he wasn't. He actually believed that he hadn't done anything wrong.

He grabbed his books and started to do his homework. He knew better than to go against his father. He did what he was told until his mum talked his father out of this stupid punishment. He shook his head to clear it and then began homework.
