Author Note: The Twilight Saga is a franchise owned by one, Stephanie Meyer. This is a fanfiction based on that franchise. I do not own Twilight or any of it's characters. I only own Becca Swan and this story.

This was it. Becca told herself as she stared at her reflection. Gathering her wits, she exited the bathroom to find it empty. Alice had asked her if she was okay when she didn't immediately come out of the bathroom. Becca had told them that she was tired and she need a shower and encouraged them to go downstairs for some food for her. Reaching into her bag, Becca changes into her black cargo pants, black boots and a heather grey long sleeve. Tying up her dark chocolate brown hair into a pony tail, Becca straps her vials to the inside of her leather jacket. She sneaks out along the balcony edge and down the fire escape, hailing a cab before anyone else can notice. Night has fallen by the time she leaves the hotel in the cab heading for the old Kagniz theater. I don't regret the choices I made joining the Vigil. She thinks to herself, staring up at the stars from the backseat of the cab. In the long run it brought Edward and I together. But I can't think of the what if goodbyes now, failure wasn't an option.

It wasn't long before the car pulled up to the old theater. Stepping out, Becca inhaled deeply. Waiting till the cab turned the corner, she pulled a vial out from her jacket and downed it before entering the building. She walks passed the old chairs that lined the walkway down to the stage. The scent of glass hits her like a train. Reaching out with her senses, she can feel his aura. It's thick and leaves hollow feeling in the air. It feels as if she is trying to breathe underwater, so heavy. "I wasn't aware vampires played hide and seek." She taunted him, one hand on the handle of a dagger at her waist. "From what Laurent told us, even for you, James. This game is pitiful."

James laughs, causing Becca to turn her head. It echoes from behind the stage. "That's my favorite part. You're stubborn, aren't you?" He steps out into the open.

"It's one of my many charms." Becca responds. Like a flash, James is in front of her. He reaches to grab Becca's throat but she slashes his cheek, driving the dagger into the trapeze muscle of his shoulder. He hisses at the burn, turning away from her as she steps to the side. "Sorry, you're predictable. You're making this too easy." She was baiting him and he was falling for it.

"Shame," he hisses through the pain, "I was going to make a little film of our time together." Cracking his neck before lunging at her, he was able to pin Becca to the ground. One hand pushing his face away, Becca gets her feet underneath him. She pushes him hard with her legs, kicking him off and through the rotting stage wall.

"Well, your acting skills suck." She comments, standing. James laughed again, catching her off guard as he stood. Faster than she managed, he grabbed her from behind.

"I'm going to enjoy breaking Edward's heart." He rounded to the front of her, his hand still gripping her throat. Becca calmed herself instead of allowing her body struggle to breathe. She pushed her hand hard up against his jaw. The glimmer of her hidden wrist knife in her peripheral vision.

"Edward has nothing to do with this!" she hissed as she felt him resisting against her hand.

Leaning forward, James sniffed her neck. "His rage will make for a more interesting sport than his feeble attempt to protect you." his fangs brushed against her neck.

"I don't need anyone to protect me." Becca fingers curled, releasing the trigger for the blade. The silver knife shoots up into the vampire's jaw, forcing him to release Becca. As he does, she pulls the dagger from his shoulder and plants it into his foot. Scurrying away to a safe distance, Becca reaches for her other dagger. James rages, yanking the dagger from his foot and the knife from his jaw, spitting his blood.

"Hunter," he hisses.

"You want more?" Becca beckons the vampire, gripping the blade of her throwing dagger. "Then let's continue." Releasing it from her hand, the dagger whips across the room and lands into James' side with a sickening thud.

The vampire snarls, yanking it from his side. "Beautiful, very visually dynamic. I chose my stage well." Although bleeding from his jaw and side, James jumps towards her as Becca rolls away. Before she can get up, he grabs her shoulder and bites. Fuck! Becca cries out in pain, grabbing the bottle of sunlight strapped to her high. She breaks the top off and throws it behind her into James' eyes. Blinding him with a bright, hot flash of light.

Fear courses Becca's veins as she can feel the ability serum trying to keep the vampire venom at bay. Becca forces herself to stand as James blindly stands. Grabbing his shoulders, she propels herself backwards into a flip, kicking him across the room into a mirror. She hears the shatter of glass but it's muddled by the pounding of her own heartbeat. "Tell him how it hurts!" James yells, blindly standing. "Tell him to avenge you!" Grabbing the sanitizing blade in the sheathe of her boot, Becca tries to regain control of herself. If she was going down, she was taking this motherfucker with her. James ran across the stage, launching himself up into the air in Becca's direction. She turns to throw the knife at him but stops as Edward collides with James, driving him hard into the floorboards of the stage. Looking up Edward sees Becca fall to her knees, blood pooling around her shoulder. She's been bitten. Edward turns back before James can attack and throws him through another stage wall. He stalks the vampire, grabbing him by the throat. Becca watches as Edward's fangs fully extend as he bites James' throat. Tearing his jugular. The world for Becca starts to blur as she reaches forward. Alice grabs Becca and calls for Carlisle, while Becca's world goes black.

Her body starts to convulse as the venom spreads faster. "Edward!" Carlisle calls to his son. "Becca needs you!" Becca gasps for air as she tries to stand but falls short. Carlisle holds her in his arms. Edward growls at James as Jasper and Alice grab him. "Son, remember who you are." Carlisle says, leaving Becca's side briefly. Edward shakes his head and is at Becca's side almost immediately.

"My shoulder," she grits against the pain. The serum was wearing off as the venom over took her, "It's burning." Carlisle touches her shoulder to find it is ice cold.

"It's the venom. You have to make a choice, Edward." Carlisle says as Edward shakes his head, "Either let the change happen or suck the venom out."

"No, not this way." Edward protests, taking Becca into his arms.

"It's going to happen, Edward. I've seen it." Alice calls to him, James' body burning before her.

"But not this way!" Edward shouts back. He pulls Becca closer to his face. "Forgive me." he whispers, sinking his fangs into her shoulder. Becca smiles weakly at him, her hand touching his cheek before dropping it to the floor. She let's out a small chuckle before her eyes close.

"Never," she whispers.
