Alright ladies and gentlemen, got a bit of a break this week from work so I took that time to rest up and rewatch Chuggaaconroy's Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon playthrough.

Now before I write these chapters there will be a few things about how this will go.

SO IF YOU DO NOT READ THIS AN, THEN DON'T COMPLAIN WHEN I TOLD YOU YOU SHOULD HAVE READ THE AN, THESE THINGS EXIST FOR A REASON.

First off, Ruby will not be exploring these mansions for maximum money gain, mainly because of 2 reasons. A) Ruby is already filthy stinking rich beyond her wildest imagination. And B) seeing as the money in Dark Moon is only used to provide the Poltergust with upgrades that just make things more convenient for the player- I plan to circumvent that one at least.

Second, I do have a plan for the Boo's, no they will not show up in every single mission, seeing as even though they have plot importance, they've mostly been dumbed down to collectable and seeing as this isn't exactly a video game there really isn't too much point in hunting down god knows how many Boo's when they are only relevant and on the beaten path is only a few specific locations.

Thirdly, I will change what I can but just remember some things will not change- I can stop Ruby from being pulled toward E. Gadd's after every 'mission' but there are points where she will need to be pulled back.

Onto different news, I've just watched Ghostbusters Afterlife just before I sat down to start writing this and in my opinion...

It's actually a pretty damn good movie, don't base your reviews you've seen online about this movie- One of them gave this movie a 2 out of 5 which is a DEAD WRONG rating (What was the reviewer on when he made that review?)

In my opinion Ghostbusters Afterlife is a solid contender for second best Ghostbusters movie and I just deleted a full page that was actually turning into a review of the film. So I'll cut this here and say this.

Go watch the film in theaters, but don't spend money on the overpriced concessions, this movie is more than a love letter to the original movies, this isn't trying to ride on the success of the originals, this isn't a remake trying to take the title as it's own while being filled with a feminist undertone.

This is a true Ghostbusters movie.

With that said, I hope you enjoy this chapter.

[Gloomy Manor: Front Gates]

A camera positioned just outside of the front gates of the Gloomy Manor twitched before aiming at a clean dirt path in front the mansion as pixel's began to fly out of the lens, soon reforming into Ruby Rose, frozen in mid air until she was fully recombined- Gravity taking back control and pulling her down to the ground, causing Ruby to land on her butt… And naturally it was raining at the moment too.

"Well this sucks." Ruby muttered as she stood up and looked around the area she was in, nervously grabbing her flashlight and turning it on and pointing it at the Gloomy Manor.

"Okay, nowhere near as big as the last one at least." Ruby muttered to herself as she proceeded forward, "But it's still a haunted house full of ghost's that apparently the old Poltergust can't handle."

Ruby took a deep breath and began making her way up the dirt path, when she approached the steel gate in front of the manor's yard she hesitated as the gates blew open due to the breeze blowing.

"Well.." Ruby muttered as she stepped past the gate, "I guess this time it really was just-"

The gates slammed shut behind her.

"THE WIND!" Ruby shrieked, finishing her sentence and spinning around the see the gate had slammed shut.

Ruby sighed and looked around the front yard of the manor, it was mostly dirt with a few large flowers sprouting up and around with grass popping up in only a few places.

"This place really is gloomy." Ruby muttered and stepped onto the porch of the manor, walking up to the front and grabbing the doorknob.

Except the doorknob didn't turn.

"I'm locked out of the manor first thing?" Ruby muttered, "They must really not want to let me in."

Ruby pulled out the TS to check the map, and thankfully the garage was right next to the entrance hall of the mansion. When Ruby looked over she did see a window that should line up with the garage.

"Well, guess I'm going in through the window then." Ruby said, walking over to the window, and to check for ghost's, peeked through said window.

Inside the Garage, Ruby noticed an old car, which almost immediately revealed a Greenie sitting in the cab, who then started to honk the horn of the vehicle.

A second Greenie showed up behind the vehicle and seemed to be getting annoyed by the horn honking and dove into the vehicle from behind.

The first Greenie looked in confusion as the car rattled for a minute, before the second Greenie popped out of the hood, holding a little green lightbulb in his hand.

With a little bit of persuasion, the second Greenie led the first one out of the garage through a wall.

The moment the Greenie's had left Ruby turned around and slammed her back into the window taking deep breaths.

"It's fine Ruby." She muttered to herself, "Just turn on all the light and things will be fine."

After taking a moment to calm down, Ruby stepped away from the window, turned around, and dove at the window.

Only for a blue light to pulse from the window and result in Ruby slamming into the window.

"Ouch." Ruby muttered as she slid down from the window, "Okay, I guess I'll have to find the key then."

Standing up Ruby walked back to the front door, intending to look under the mat for a key or somewhere in the yard, not many other places she could search really.

However when she reached the front door a blue furred mouse, more actually a rat with how big it was, scurried out of a hole on the side of the mansion, it's tail wrapped firmly around a key.

Ruby and the rat locked eyes for a moment, neither of them moving, Ruby from how unusual yet convenient this was, and the rat because… Well, Ruby was standing in front of it looking tense.

In the blink of an eye Ruby lunged for the rat, which jumped to the side to dodge Ruby and ran off, however Ruby quickly recovered and burst into a cloud of rose petals, speeding to the front of the rat, starling it and taking advantage of it's moment's pause to snatch the key from the rat's tail.

"Thank you." Ruby said happily as she walked toward the manor.

The rat looked at Ruby in confusion, and slight fear as she walked toward the manor. It shook its head before running off, but it quickly ran into a web while it was fleeing, an unusually large and thick web at that, fear filled the rats eyes as small green glowing eyes lit up from beneath the bushes.

Not noticing any of this Ruby carefully slid the key into the door lock and unlocked the door, the moment she heard the door click she felt the key slip from her grasp, Ruby quickly looked down at her hand and yelped seeing that the key was dissolving into golden light.

"Well... " Ruby muttered, "I shouldn't need to unlock the door again right?"

Ruby took a deep breath and opened the door and stepped into an entrance hall of the Gloomy Manor.

Forgetting to close the door, Ruby noticed there were three other doors in the hall, one on her left leading into the Garage, one in front of her flanked by two large suits of armor, and one on her right pitifully hidden behind a sheet that looks like a door.

"Garage first." Ruby muttered as she stepped away from the door, forgetting to shut it.

Due to that, the door slammed shut behind her by itself.

"Yah!" Ruby yelped as she turned to face the door, then took a deep breath, "Right, haunted mansion." She muttered to herself, "Don't leave doors open."

With that Ruby ran over to the garage and entered it, making sure to shut the door behind her.

"Okay so the Poltergust should be in here somewhere." Ruby muttered, "May as well start with the car."

She noted that the green ghost had definitely pulled something from the engine compartment so she decided to check that area first… Well, she assumed it was the engine compartment, she didn't know cars very well compared to weapons, especially ones older than her mother.

Popping the compartment open Ruby smiled as she saw her prize, a new Poltergust, hopefully that green bulb wasn't too important.

Ruby lifted the ghost catching device from the compartment and slipped it onto her back, dropping her flashlight to grab the vacuum nozzle and checking it over, then giving the nozzle a quick kiss.

[Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon OST: Dual Scream]

Ruby jumped at the sound of the TS going off, and quickly patted her pockets trying to remember where she had stowed the device.

Finding it Ruby flipped the device open and the call was automatically answered.

[OST end]

"Ruby!" E. Gadd called out, "I see you've found the Poltergust 5000."

Ruby blinked twice at E. Gadd's statement, "Wait, how did you know I found the Poltergust?"

"Look up and to the right." E. Gadd said.

Ruby did as instructed and noticed a red and green camera looking directly at her, "You couldn't have just dropped me off in here?" Ruby muttered.

E. Gadd scratched the back of his head, "Not all my camera's are Pixelator compliant, I've only got two of those in the Gloomy Manor. Not only is the one outside closer, but the ones outside typically are less likely to leave you trapped in a room with no way out but the Pixelator." E. Gadd explained.

Ruby had to admit, E. Gadd did have a point.

"Now then, look at the bottom of your flashlight, you should find a small screw cap." E. Gadd said, "Unscrew it, and pocket the cap."

Ruby nodded and grabbed her flashlight, the cap was connected to the tether she had kept attached to her belt ever since the first mansion incident, but she did as instructed, and saw a plug hidden under the cap.

"Now feel around on the lower side of the Poltergust, I've got a small sliding compartment on both sides that are hiding plugs." E. Gadd said, "Plug one of those into the flashlight and then give the ring around the plug a good twist to lock it in place."

Ruby nodded and switched the flashlight to her off hand, feeling around the side of the Poltergust until she found the compartment, slid it open and found the plug, which did have a ring not dissimilar to one found on a hose.

She then plugged the Poltergust into the flashlight and twisted the ring around the flashlight to lock it into place.

"Good, that acts like your old tether while also providing the flashlight access to- Wait…" E. Gadd stopped his explanation as he looked hard on the screen, "Ruby, face away from the camera, I need to see the Poltergust real quick."

"Okay…?" Ruby muttered, doing as told.

"Criminy!" E. Gadd shouted, "The Strobulb is missing!"

"The what?" Ruby asked confused, "Wait, was it a green light bulb?"

"Yes and it is key to capturing the ghosts in the Valley." E. Gadd said, "Normal light doesn't affect these ghosts nearly as much as it does the ones from the trap mansion. Plus the mansions around Gloomy Manor adjust their lighting depending on if ghosts are in the room or not."

Ruby gulped, her old 'Turn on all the mansion lights' tactic died then and there.

"But the Strobulb works on a different concept of stunning ghosts." E. Gadd said, "A big flash of light not too dissimilar to an old camera seemed to lock up most ghosts of the valley, whether it was from how bright it was or just simply being blinded by a big flash of light remains to be seen- But it works."

"So I'm still technically weaponless." Ruby bemoaned.

"Not quite." Clairvoya said, hijacking E. Gadd from the camera, "All of the ghost's in Gloomy Manor know about the Strobulb, they just don't know how it works. For now at least all they know is that you've got the Poltergust, and a flashlight, they know enough to believe you are actually a threat to them."

"So I at least have a little bit of time to find the Strobulb." Ruby said, then she remembered the two ghost's from before, "Wait, I think I know what ghost took it."

"Then go grab it." Clairvoya said, "Also if I recall the master of the manor has a spare key in the chest that's in the garage with you, the one who built the manor didn't vary the locks of the place so the current owner kept a spare key in the garage."

"Got it." Ruby muttered, "Wait… Master of the Manor?"

"Don't worry about her for now." Clairvoya said, "But be aware that she knows you're there."

"That's creepy." Ruby muttered as she closed the TS and ran toward the window and peered through.

Outside she saw the two Greenies from before, they were both tossing the Strobulb back and forth to each other. This went on for a minute until one of them threw the bulb a little too hard, the bulb passing through the other Greenie and breaking the window behind it, which annoyed Ruby that ghosts could break the mansion but not her.

The Greenie that was attempting to catch the Strobulb looked at the thrower in annoyance as the window repaired itself and floated through the wall after it, his friend following behind.

"Well, it's back in the Mansion for now at least." Ruby muttered as she looked to her left and saw the chest Clairvoya was talking about. Quickly throwing off the sheet on it, Ruby cracked the chest open and took the key from inside it and quickly left the garage.

Not noticing a red spider slinking down on its web over the chest.

Not staying in the Entrance Hall long, Ruby made her way to the door flanked by armor and tried to open it, quickly stopped by the fact the door was locked.

Quickly fishing out the spare key, Ruby unlocked the door, the key dissolving once more, and entered a short hallway with several suits of armor in it.

As well as the two Greenies, one of which was tossing the Strobulb in one hand and catching it again.

It was then the Greenie's noticed her, and the Poltergust, they looked at each other and the one holding the Strobulb tossed it to his partner, who tossed it back to the original.

While they were tossing the bulb back and forth, attempting to get Ruby to not focus on them, Ruby started to march forward- Hoping to scare them enough to drop the bulb.

She made it past one suit of armor when she heard a loud clang right behind her, causing her to stiffen.

Ruby looked behind her to see that the armor had swung it's sword straight down, the blade missing her by an inch, and returning to its original position.

Seeing Ruby being distracted, the two Greenies took their chance to escape and fled further into the Manor.

Deciding not to let the armor hit her, Ruby burst into rose petals and flew at the door, stopping before she hit the door and grabbed the door knob, only to find the door locked.

"Is every door in this place locked?" Ruby muttered as she kicked the door, "Okay, I've got one more path I can search, hopefully there is a key in there." Ruby muttered and she sped back to the Entrance Hall.

Looking at the poor attempt to hide the door, Ruby sighed and ripped the sheet down and went through the door behind it.

Opening the door, Ruby entered the Mudroom. Ruby quickly noticed that all the boots and coats in the room were covered in a slight amount of mud.

"I'm gonna need Weiss to explain this room to me." Ruby muttered as she looked around the room, noticing a streak of white in one of the windows as she did so.

Walking over to the window and peering out she quickly saw a doghouse, and a ghost dog digging.

Unlike Spooky however, this dog had all four legs and seemed to prefer being on all four legs.

The ghost dog lifted it's head from the hole, causing its whole body to go flying back a little and revealing it to have a face that reminded Ruby of when Zwei was a puppy, in its mouth was a golden bone that it quickly tossed behind it as it landed on it's butt.

The Polterpup backed twice in excitement and circled it's bone before pouncing on it, then shaking the bone around until it managed to flip itself in excitement, sending the bone flying shockingly far, over the roof of the Manor much to Ruby's surprise.

The Polterpup looked at where its bone had been launched to, barked twice, and started to run after it, making long bounds similar to when Zwei was running, only the Polterpup was gaining height as it started to fly with it's running- And was distracted for a moment chasing its tail, but quickly resumed chasing it's bone.

Ruby turned away from the window and blinked twice at what she saw, "Well, at least it's not a scary dog like Spooky was." Ruby muttered as she raised her head and got lost in thought, "In fact it was as excitable as Zwei was when he was a puppy."

Ruby then noticed there was a key on the ceiling fan and raised an eyebrow, "Well, they're ghosts, what should I expect?" She muttered as she began to use the Poltergust's suction function to spin the fan, which eventually picked up enough speed to cause the key to slide off and land in front of her.

"There we go." Ruby said, grabbing the key quickly making her way back to the locked door, dodging the armor that continued to swing at her, and unlocking the door to the Foyer.

Ruby took a deep breath and entered the Foyer, doing a slow sweep with her flashlight as she looked around the room.

A door on her left and right, a fish fountain directly in front of her with a wall of gears behind it, and a second floor that all Ruby could see at her position was a fish tank.

And floating down from the chandelier were the two Greenies.

One of them was chuckling and then pointed up to the chandelier, causing both the other Greenie and Ruby to look up and see the Strobulb was replacing a candle on the chandelier.

Ruby blinked slowly as the two ghost's laughed at their little joke before they noticed Ruby.

One of them quickly led the other to the door on Ruby's right, which had a red device on it and also two bars in front of it connected to that device.

"Ghost's later, Strobulb now." Ruby muttered as she ran toward the stair and up to the second floor, smirking as she noticed a fan above the chandelier, Ruby pulled out the Poltergust and began suctions, slowly spinning the fan and lowering the chandelier down to the first floor.

Once the Chandelier had reached the first floor Ruby hopped down to the first floor and plucked the Strobulb off the chandelier, taking the Poltergust off her back and seeing where it went, screwing the small bulb back into place.

A green flash signified the Strobulb was working.

Putting the Poltergust on her Back Ruby grabbed her flashlight and clicked the red button, turning on. She frowned and clicked it again, turning it off.

Frowning still she looked around the flashlight, she failed to find another button until she heard a hum from the flashlight.

Looking at the head of the flashlight, Ruby noticed that instead of the normal light coming from it was now bright white, blinking, and it's range of light was considerably smaller. Ruby aimed the flashlight away from her and noticed her thumb was holding the red button down.

"So that's how it works." Ruby muttered as she lifted her thumb off the button, and a bright white flash filled a good chunk of the area in front of her, "Oh this is gonna be useful."

At that moment her TS went off and Ruby put away her flashlight and flipped the TS out of her pocket.

"I see you've found the Strobulb." E. Gadd said, "Frankly I'm glad the ghost's left it there and not behind that door they went through."

"What's with that device on the door anyway?" Ruby asked.

E. Gadd scratched the back of his head, "A small oversight on my part." E. Gadd admitted, "I was testing a new type of lock, one designed to react to the light of the Strobulb… I installed it on a few doors around Evershade valley and in hindsight I should have taken them down after testing."

"Okay so I just blast them with the Strobulb then?" Ruby asked.

"Right." E. Gadd said, "Also turn the flashlight head to the right real quick."

Ruby raised an eyebrow but did so anyway, a small click was heard before it refused to move further.

"There, that disabled the 'off' switch for the flashlight." E. Gadd said, "It'll turn off when the head faces down instead. But now pressing the button instead of holding it will give a quick flash of the Strobulb. Not as much range as a charged flash, but still enough to lock a ghost up or activate one of my locks."

"Thank you." Ruby said in relief, she didn't want to have to charge up the Strobulb everytime she wanted to use it.

"You're welcome Ruby." E. Gadd said, "Now go catch those ghosts before they cause more problems."

Ruby nodded and put away the TS, then approached the Gadd locked door and pressed the red button on her flashlight, and a bright, but much smaller, burst of light was emitted from the flashlight and the green panel on the yellow circular device lit up, the bars sliding out of the way.

Ruby opened the door and found herself in the Coat room. Admittedly Ruby had no idea what this room was, but there was something off that she immediately noticed.

And that was the toilet in front of a bright blue wall right in front of her.

"If this doesn't scream 'Secret Passage' then I don't know what will." Ruby muttered.

Walking over to the toilet and noticing a lack of liquid in the toilet bowl, Ruby liked to believe she figured out how to access the passage.

Closing the lid on the toilet seat, she hopped onto it and grabbed the rope next dangling down and gave it a pull.

A moment passed and Ruby was starting to feel embarrassed at the fact she had apparently not figured out what to do.

That is before the wall spun rather violently and launched Ruby off the toilet when it stopped spinning and into a sink full of water.

Pulling her head free from the water and giving it a super speed shake to dry her head she groaned, "That sucked." Ruby muttered, then she noticed the sound of a shower next to her and looked over to see the glowing shape of a Greenie taking a shower, the curtain not even drawn.

Ruby brought up her flashlight and charged up the Strobulb, hearing the hum the Greenie, who wasn't even facing Ruby gave out a confused grunt and turned around to see Ruby aiming her flashlight at it.

The Greenie gave out an exaggerated shout before the Strobulb went off, stunning it from the bright light.

The shock quickly wore off for the ghost as Ruby pulled out the Poltergust and began to vacuum the Ghost.

Ruby began her old tactic of repeated small yanks of the poltergust, only to find they weren't as effective on these ghosts as they were the ones in the old mansion.

With this in mind Ruby simply pulled back and held back with the Poltergust, lifting it as she did so and was actually overpowering the ghost.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed blue electricity coming from the nozzle and a blue light flashing on the Poltergust, giving it a press Ruby immediately was caught off guard as suction from the Poltergust increased tenfold, but the nozzle was retracted by the hose to keep the nozzle from yanking forward- And it was retracted hard enough that the nozzle was pointed almost completely away from the ghost.

This sudden increase in suction dragged the ghost forcefully into the Poltergust with no more resistance being capable from the ghost despite it still being full of energy.

"Whoa." Ruby said as she looked at the Poltergust, "What an upgrade."

Shaking her head, Ruby returned to the toilet, pulled the rope, and this time was prepared for the sudden spin.

Ruby then made her way back to the Foyer, only for a gate of purple energy to slam down in front of the door, causing Ruby to yelp, and a Greenie appeared behind her laughing.

"Why do ghost's think this is funny?" Ruby muttered as she turned around and quickly flashed the ghost, and caught it just as quickly.

The gate vanished from the door as Ruby did so.

"Okay so now I know for sure how that works." Ruby muttered, "Despite it being completely obvious."

Ruby opened the door to the Foyer, successfully this time and entered the room- and noticed scraps of paper flying out of the corner of her eye.

Moving to get a better angle Ruby saw the paper was the result of a Greenie pulling out and tearing apart random sheets of paper from a desk while three of it's buddies were playing in the fountain.

"Oh boy." Ruby muttered and charged up the flashlight.

The three Greenie's in the fountain noticed this and quickly flew out of the fountain, vanishing as they did so and causing gates to appear over the doors, the one shredding paper didn't notice until it was too late and was quickly caught.

Not seeing the other's immediately, Ruby began to charge up the flashlight again, and then she noticed the water in the fountain ripple in a line rather than from the water hitting it.

'Shoot.' Ruby thought as she realized something, 'These guys don't vanish like the ones at the trap mansion, they just turn invisible.'

Moving closer to the fountain, Ruby waited until she could see at least one.

And one did appear, it's hands on where it's ears would be, hands splayed out and thumb in the 'earhole' and sticking its tongue out to mock Ruby.

Ruby let the Strobulb flash, stunning not only the mocker, but also it's two buddies who were invisible and behind it, being revealed in the light.

The three were quickly caught in the Poltergust at the same time, causing the gates in the room to vanish.

"Alright!" Ruby cheered, then checked her TS for a map, "Well the bottom room is locked so I guess I'll check the second floor." Ruby muttered to herself as she put away the TS.

Turning away from the fountain, Ruby made her way to the stairs.

Only for a deep grunt and a cash of wood to be heard from near the fountain, causing Ruby to jump and slowly turn around.

Over by the corner of the room a large red ghost had jammed it's fist into a gear mechanism and Ruby watched as it ripped out a set of four gears. Then haphazardly tossing them one by one away from it until it had one.

Three other ghost's like it were behind it, one of them had two gears until it was shoulder rammed by one of it's buddies, taking one of it's gears in the process.

The victim quickly returned to butt heads as the last ghost looked on in anticipation until the first of the red ghosts noticed the quarrel and slammed it's fist on the head of the two fighting ghosts.

It then hiked it's thumb behind it and one of the ghosts began to follow it to the second floor and went through the wall.

Meanwhile the remaining two went through the same wall, only they remained on the first floor.

"Oh boy." Ruby said with a gulp, though ghost's looked a lot tougher than the blue painted ghosts from the trap mansion.

Subject: Madame Clairvoya

Madame Clairvoya was born in Evershade Valley, back when humans and faunus lived in the valley of course, and due to being conceived and born in the valley, the supernatural energy there gave her an ability that is quite separate from a Semblance… And quite specific too.

By drawing on the power of local spirits, Madame Clairvoya can use lost possession of people to see the past, present, or future of whatever subject she deems, although it's much easier to view the owner of the object.

She spent half her life living in the valley and then moved to Mistral, though most people viewed her as a con considering the limitation of her powers to 'lost possessions'.

Those that did recieve her services however quickly learned otherwise. She claimed her favorite customer was, 'The Old Soul' (See Gadd Spirit Guide, page 55) as they had a consistent supply of lost possessions for her to use.

She vanished in her old age, however Madame Clairvoya herself has confessed that she simply returned to Evershade Valley to pass away of old age.

Threat Level: Non-existent.
