Author's Note: We come to Chiharu for this halo. I have been sitting on crumbs of ideas for it for quite some time. It all just came out as I wrote. Everything just locked together in place as I wrote. I can't wait to see how Chiharu evolves and gets her powers. I decided to write little pieces for each of the Durarara characters' birthdays. I believe Walker's birthday is first. So will see something on this site, A03, and Wattpad then. I might get started on season twelve early this year. I can't wait to get started on next week's halo. For now, enjoy this week's halo.

Halo Twenty-Five: Chiharu:

-Chiharu-

I am slowly getting myself back. So far, I am starting to be able to walk on two feet again. It took weeks to stand without nearly falling over. And without having to lean on something. Standing is no problem now. I have been trying to get myself to walk. I still can't get very far.

Still can't talk. I can think of the words in my head but they won't come out of my mouth. When I do try to talk, I end up making screeching noises. That idiot brother of mine still tried to understand what I am saying. He doesn't know what to do with me.

Do you know how long I have been locked up in my room? Close to six months. I'm not sure it's that long. Time has become a lie. I can't stand my room anymore.

I have to get out of here!

I heard the door open down the hall. Damn it, he's home again.

"I'm home!" Tatsuya said. I heard him take off his shoes and walk into the living room. I already know what is coming next. He's going to try and push me to "get better". Or some shit like that. Then it's going to be some food. God, I'm hungry again. That's another thing.

The hunger. It's been getting worse lately. That idiot has been feeding me nothing but scraps lately. He doesn't want his sister to be a killer. But I am so hungry. I tightly shut my eyes.

I really need to get out of here.

Tomoya isn't the only one dealing with unwanted guests.

She won't stop calling him. Shuichi looked down at his phone. How did she even get his number? Two years of blissful silence and now she decided to try and harass him again? What the hell does she want?

"Something wrong?" Shuichi heard next to him. The tadpole turned his head. Yukio stood next to him, grinning. The other tadpole frowned at him.

"What do you want, Yuki?" he asked. The leader tadpole looked at the phone in his hand.

"Call from the ex again?" he asked. Shuichi rolled his eyes.

"I don't get why she even cares now," he said. "It was great two years ago. Why now?" The tadpole looked down at his phone.

"Maybe you should talk to her again," Yukio said. Shuichi made a face at him.

"You've got to be kidding me!" he shouted. Suddenly, his phone pinged. The tadpole groaned and rolled his eyes. Another text?

"This again?" he asked. Yukio gave him a big smile.

"What?" Shuichi asked.

"Why don't you reply to her?" he asked. The other tadpole gave him a strange look.

"You've got to be kidding me!" he shouted. Yukio shrugged at him.

"It's not going to stop until you do something," he said. Shuichi glared at him. He looked down at his phone again. The tadpole sneered at the notification.

The hunger is back. It's worse than ever. I heard a knock on the door. I tried to speak but all that came out was screeching.

"I'm coming in," Tatsuya said. I looked to see the door opening. He poked his head inside. A confused look came over his face.

"You're standing up?" he asked. Of course, I am. You can see me, can't you?

"Heh," Tatsuya said. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Can you say anything yet?" he asked. I tried to speak but all that came out was more screeching.

"Still nothing?" he asked. He sounded so disappointed in me. Look, I'm trying. Now, get me my food! He looked up when he heard me growling at him.

"Oh, right," Tatsuya said. He reached into the shack that his holding in his hand and pulled out a slab of bloodied meat. I jumped forward and started eating. Tatsuya slowly backed out of the room. Oh! This is so good! Mmm! Mmm! This was so good! I didn't even look up when my door closed.

The meat wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it would have to do for now. I sat back on the floor and licked the blood from my face.

I think I was smiling.

Taro danced up to Junko's office door and knocked.

"Enter," a muzzled voice said. The door slid open.

"I'm coming in," Taro said. He walked straight into the basement. The boy ignored the hissing and growling of the angels in their cages. He stopped in front of Z's cage and gave her a goofy smile.

"Hey there, beautiful," he said. She hissed at him at the far end of her cage. She didn't dare to get close. Taro chuckled as he kept walking. Maybe he would try to play with her later.

The horseman made his way over to Junko at her desk. The nurse looked up and turned her head.

"What is it?" she asked. Taro giggled.

"It's beginning," he said. "She can stand up now." Junko perked up.

"Oh! This is excellent!" she said, clapping her hands together. "Is she talking yet?"

"No. Sadly, no," Taro said.

"Aw," Junko said. "It's just disappointing. Still, she can pull through. She is one of the first angels after all." Taro screwed up his face.

"What makes her so special?" he asked. Junko smiled and tapped her on the side of her nose.

"Because, my dear boy," she said. She leaned close to his face.

"She's going to be the mother of all angels," the nurse said in a whisper. Taro stared up at her with a curious look on his face.

"She was made first, wasn't she?" he asked.

"That's right," Junko said. She looked at the other angels behind him.

"Now, we do have some others evolving as well," the nurse said. The horseman raised his hand.

"What are you going to do with them?" he asked. Junko took a moment to think about this.

"You know something?" she asked. "I'm still trying to work that one out. I guess it will all depend on F and a few others." Taro leaned in closer with wide eyes.

"And the new guy?" he asked. She smiled and patted him on the head.

"We're going to get to him once your sister gets her horse," Junko said. Taro pouted when he heard that.

"Damn it," he muttered. Junko gave him a little shrug.

"Sorry. That's just how it is," she said. The horseman huffed.

I can't take this anymore. I hate staring at these stupid walls. I want to go outside. But my idiot brother won't let me go out. He won't tell me why but I know what he's thinking when he sees me.

I'm a monster.

It's not my fault. It's that bitch. She did this to me. I was happy to no longer exist. But she had to drag me back. I don't know what she plans to do with me but I refuse to play along. I have to get myself back. In order to do that, I have to get myself to talk again.

So far, I am able to start walking again. I think that latest feeding helped out. At first, it was baby steps. For some reason, I couldn't give up. Something inside of me told me that I had to keep going.

Standing up is much easier now. I still have to try and walk. Let me try from my bed to my door. I can do this. I took another breath and began walking again.

Step. Step. Step.

Okay, good so far. I can do this. It doesn't hurt and I'm more stable. Looking good so far.

I walked over to the bed without any problems. Well that was easy. But I still needed to fully test it out. I would have to walk long distance to see how I really am. I sat down on my bed. I looked up at the ceiling. I started to be able to use my hands in a normal way again. But I still can't talk. I slammed my fists into my thighs as I cursed myself in my head.

I heard the door open from down the hall. Oh, he's back again.

Shuichi sat in McDonald's, frowning. Why was he doing this? Yukio suggested this. Eri said that she had to meet up with him. She sounded so happy to hear from him again. Shuichi couldn't understand why. The tadpole clicked his tongue.

"Lame," he said to himself. He counted down for the next part. Five… Four… Three… Two… One.

Suddenly, his phone buzzed. Sure enough, it was her. Shuichi rolled his eyes and opened the text.

"I'm outside. Look up!" The heart, kissy, winky emojis made him want to hurl. Shuichi looked out the window. There she was. Eri smiled and waved at him. Shuichi rolled his eyes before forcing himself to smile. His ex turned and walked into the McDonald's. Might as well get this over with. Eri slid into his booth. She looked like she was on cloud nine. Shuichi held up his phone.

"What do you want from me?" he asked.

"I just wanted to see you," Eri said. The tadpole narrowed his eyes.

"What were you expecting when you came here?" he asked. His ex gave him a little pout.

"I don't know," she said. "I just had to see you again."

"Why though?"

"Do I have to give you an answer?"

"Why though?"

Eri sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Are we really going to do this?"

"Why though?"

His ex threw back her head and sighed. Shuichi stared at her with his eyes narrowed. There was no point to this. They were over. Surely, she had to know that. Why did she have this stupid idea in her head that they were ever going to get back together? He might as well put her out of her misery.

Shuichi sat back and took a breath.

"We are not getting back together," he said. Eri opened her mouth to speak but the tadpole put up his hand.

"No, listen," he said. "Forget about it. We're not going to happen again. Put it out of your brain." She looked like she was about to scream.

"Why are you being like this?!" she asked. "I am trying to reach and talk to you."

"Why though?" he asked. "Why do you even care now after all this time?"

"Because I love you!" Eri shouted. "I haven't stopped loving you! I can't stop loving you!" Tears welled up in her eyes.

"But why?" Shuichi asked.

"Do I have to have a reason?!" she yelled. "And, no! I can't get over you! I've tried and it doesn't work!" She held her head and groaned.

"See what you did to me?! Why are you so exhausting?!" Eri asked. Shuichi just sat back and stared at her. He expected this but he drew a blank to respond.

"Wow," was all that he could say. Eri threw back her head and screamed. She didn't care who was looking at her.

-Chiharu-

He's back again.

"I'm home," Tatsuya said from the doorway. I heard him take off his shoes and walk down the hall. I looked up as my bedroom door opened. Tatsuya poked his head inside.

"I'm coming in," he said in a whisper. He walked into the room.

"Oh, there you are," he said. Where else am I going to go, dumbass? You won't let me out of here.

"How are you doing today?" Tatsuya asked. I stuck up my middle finger at him. He sighed and shook his head.

"Pleasant as ever, I see," he said. Is he kidding me? He's really trying to test me, isn't he? Maybe I could strangle him now.

"My day was crap," Tatsuya began again. "Kamiya-san is pregnant again. Can you believe that? That's six kids now? She and her husband need to slow down, you know?" He descends into annoying ass chatter about his day. Hearing him speak just made me angrier. I sneered as he kept on talking.

"Idiot."

I sat there blinking for a moment. I noticed Tatsuya staring at me stunned.

"Idiot." My voice came out raspy when I spoke. I did it. I was thinking of the word and it came out of my word. Tatsuya stood looking at me, stunned.

"Whoa! You can talk now?" he asked. I was glaring at him.

"Idiot," I said again. "I hate it here. It sucks. Hearing you talk makes me want to reach out and strangle you. If I have to stay in here any longer I am about to go crazy." I felt myself getting tired just by saying all of that. My tongue nearly stuck to the roof of my mouth as I gasped for air. Tatsuya walked up to me as if I was going to bite him. (I probably was, but that wasn't on my mind.)

"I think I liked you better when you couldn't talk," he said. I rolled my eyes. That's it. I couldn't stand this anymore. I rose to my feet. It was a good thing I learned this little trick when I was getting myself back together.

"What are you doing?" Tatsuya asked.

"Leaving," I said. I closed my eyes and vanished into thin air.

For some reason, I found myself in front of this apartment. I didn't really have a destination in mind. I just wanted to get out of my room. Tatsuya will probably chase me down and bring me back to that prison. I pushed that thought out of my head and knocked on the door. Oh, there's a boy looking at me after he opened it. I think I know what his name is. He's stunned to see me.

"Hashimoto?" he asked.

"Mi-ka-do," I said. Each syllable lingered on my tongue as I began to remember who this boy is.

"What are you doing here?" Mikado asked. I clicked my tongue and sneered.

"I had to get out of there," I said. I still couldn't speak louder than a raspy whisper. I shouldn't be surprised that this boy could still hear me. He's like me in a way, but yet not.

"Does Tatsuya-san know where you are?" he asked. I shook my head. Mikado moved aside to let me in. I bowed my head and walked into the apartment. Two girls sat on the floor near his computer. I know who they are.

"Chiharu!" the girl with the curly ponytail on the side of her head said, covering her mouth. The girl with the big boobs sitting next to her stared at me. She too kind of smells like me but not. Only… Not as strong.

"A-n-ri. No-ri-ko," I said. The girl with the ponytail, Noriko, ran over and hugged me wildly.

"Whoa!" I shouted as I nearly stumbled backward.

"Be careful!" Anri said. Noriko didn't listen as she looked up at me.

"I missed you so much," she said. I didn't know how to take this.

Hideki woke up in the middle of the night when he heard someone sitting up in his bed. Kana was sitting up with her back to him.

"Kana-chan?" he asked, half-asleep. "What are you doing up?" She didn't speak at first or turn around.

"Honey?" he asked. He paused when he thought he heard her saying something.

"What did you say?" he asked.

"I have to go," Kana said. She stood up and put on her slippers. The woman walked over to the door and put on her robe.

"Kana?" Hideki asked. His wife walked out of their room and closed the door behind her. Hideki got up and ran after her.
