Nighttime finally came, Nightmare fixed his bow tie and straighten his tophat, 'it's time, I shall find that mortal and consume his fear,' He thought, and he dissolved into black mist and slip through the crack.

"Bowser hasn't gotten any better," said Mario.

They just finished fighting Bowser and rescued Peach, for the 20th time this week.

"Thank you, Mario!" yelped Peach, "I might have married that horrible browser if you didn't came."

Mario shrugged it off, "No problem," then he nodded to Luigi, "you did good too bro,"

"Thanks, man," replied Luigi, "it's late now, do you wanna go out and have dinner bro?"

"Yeah sure," Mario shrugged, "I'm free, you Peach?"

"Oh, um," Peach blushed, "I would love to join you two, but I got work."

"Oh," said Mario disappointedly, "See ya, princess."

"Bye," replied Peach

After Peach left, Mario turned to his brother, "which restaurant are we're eating at?"

Nightmare flies to different houses, searching for the mortal, he killed and consumed fear from all of the toads he comes across, but none of them have the fear that the certain mortal has. 'Perhaps he isn't a toad,' thought Nightmare, as he stabbed his claws into the screaming toad's belly, consuming his fear and killing him in the process. 'They all have the same amount of fear in them, delicious. But, not the kind I'm looking for.' As he turns into a black mist and flies away.

'How is he going to find that mortal? If he keeps on killing, there might be people who notice and alert the whole Kingdom that there is a murderer on the loose, and then the King of this Kingdom might tell all the citizens to stay home. Maybe that might help? Maybe it might be easier to find that mortal?' Nightmare thought as he traveled to homes and homes, consuming fear and killing countless toads. 'Perhaps, I'm going to try that.' And Nightmare continues to search.

"Oh boy," burped Mario, patting his stomach. "That is one big dinner, isn't it bro?" he asked

The brothers just finished their dinner in a restaurant that is in Toad Town Mall.

"Yep it is," replied Luigi, "now I'm kind of sleepy."

"I know, I'll see ya, bro," yelled Mario as he walked off

"See ya" replied Luigi as the brothers each went in a separate direction.

Luigi stumbled to his bed, kicking off his shoes, not bothering to change his clothes. And flops onto his bed, falling into sleep quickly. Without any worries that he might have nightmares again, or better yet. Meeting that creature again.

Nightmare has just finished consuming a toad when his senses went off, he senses that mortal has just fallen asleep.

He grinned mentally, 'I'm finally going to see what the mortal looks like,' he curses himself for not bothering to look at his prey for the first time when he entered his dream.

But he knows that in order for him to go into a mortal's dream, he needs to be asleep as well. And here isn't the place for him to do that. He needs to be in a physical form to do that as well, 'oh snap, where should I hide?' he quickly transforms into a black mist and flies away. After an hour of searching, he finally found an abandoned warehouse, he flies into it and found a clearing for him to fall asleep, he quickly searched around and made sure no one was in the warehouse. Then he transformed into his physical form and entered Luigi's dream.

Luigi woke up in the haunted mansion, "Oh no," murmured Luigi, "not again." He reached his left hand to the Poltergust's handle.

But only to grasp the air.

Luigi widened his eyes and looked down, he was shocked that the Poltergust isn't on his back, it's always on his back, every single time, except now.

"Ma-ma-mia," murmured Luigi. Now he is going to go through his nightmare without his Poltergust, his weapon, his hope for survival. And before Luigi took a step, he heard a voice behind him.

"So, you are the mortal that I'm looking for."

Luigi froze, that voice, he knows that voice, the same exact cold, growling voice that sends chills down his spine this morning. His heart pumped faster, and he slowly turned around, his eyes widened and he knows that his real nightmare has just begun.

Standing there is a 6 feet tall, black-bear-sprite-like-robot with a small purple top hat and bowtie. It has sharp, gleaming metal claws and teeth, and right at his belly, there is another set of gleaming teeth that look like a big wide stretched mouth. And it has a pair of glowing red eyes. He appears to be broken, but it suits him very well, it suits him to look scary.

Luigi stood frozen, scared out of his wits, as this monster surveyed him. And finally, the monster's eyes locked with Luigi's and stood silently. Waiting.

Finally, Luigi broke out of his trace and asked

"Wh-who are yo-you?"

The monster looks like it smiled despite him not really having a face for emotions.

"Who am I?" he asked, "I am Nightmare."

"Night-Nightmare?"

"Yes, my name is Nightmare." Nightmare stretched out his claws and asked.

"What is your name? Answer me or be killed" Nightmare threatened

Luigi stammer "M-my n-name is lu-Luigi"

"Luigi? Such a sweet name." Nightmare replied coldly

"th-Thanks?" Luigi stammered, not expecting that cold, praise

Nightmare laughed, his laugh sent chills down Luigi's spine, and made his blood run cold. And his heart pumped even faster, he started to sweat.

"Ah yes, you are the mortal that I'm looking for." Nightmare growled gleefully, "That amount of fear that is radiating off you is enough to turn me invincible."

"in-in-Invincible?" Luigi stammered more heavily

"Yes," Luigi can see the manic, joyful, gleam in Nightmare's eyes

"Invincible." He laughed. "And I will destroy the whole Mushroom Kingdom with pleasure."

Luigi gulped, and he took a step back.

"Oh? You're running away?" Nightmare taunt

A moment of silence passed and Luigi screamed

"YES!" And he took off running, Nightmare laughed. "You can't escape me! I am in your dream, your nightmare, and I control it!"

Suddenly, the hallway tilts upwards, causing Luigi to lose his balance and slide down the hallway, and at the bottom, was Nightmare's head, laughing with glee and opening his mouth threatening to swallow Luigi. Luigi screamed, then his whole vision turned black. And he heard Nightmare's voice, turning from laughing gleefully, to an angry yelling. Screaming, "You will not escape me! I will find you, and consume you, Luigi! I WILL BE BACK!" And with that final threat, Luigi wakes up.
