"You don't have to get up right now you know." Flash reminded Daniel as he stubbornly tried getting out of his bed. "We're capable of handling this until you recover." all the young Green Lantern did was shake his head.

"You know me Flash, if I gave up at the slightest bit of pain, I wouldn't have made it in the Marines." he said rising to his feet from the bed he was on. Daniel grabbed his ribs as he felt another surge of pain shoot through his body. Gritting his teeth he continued towards the door. "Hell, I wouldn't have been selected to be a member of the Green Lantern Corps either."

"You've got nothing to prove Lantern, especially not to us." Hawkgirl told him as she and the others followed him out the doorway and into the hall.

"You guys are acting as if I'm crippled. I'm a little hurt, but I've still got a job to do." he replied.

"You really are a stubborn bastard, aren't you?"

"I can say the same about you Kendra. You have a habit of not giving up either, yet your bitching at me now."

"We're just trying to ensure you get the proper rest so you can recover." Arisia interrupted, hoping to break through his stubbornness.

"I slept for 18 hours, that's more than enough time to rest. Hell, that's probably more than I've slept this whole week."

"Oh they want you back in bed, just not to sleep." Flash chuckled, earning a glare from the others present.

"Coming from the "Fastest Man Alive", that's rather rich. No surprise you can't get a date, is it?" Hawkgirl said while glaring at Flash.

"Now what's that supposed to mean?" Flash asked as he looked at Hawkgirl with a mock frown on his face. "Just because I've got super speed doesn't mean I can't ple-"

"Hey Flash?" Daniel interrupted as he glared at the speedster.

"Yeah?"

"Just shut up." he said. "Otherwise I won't help you if they decide to knock some sense into your ass."

"I'm just saying." Flash said while throwing his hands up in a mock surrender. "Its kinda obvious considering you-"

"I swear to god, if you don't shut up, I'll be the one to kill you, not them." Daniel said, no longer amused by the Speedster's sense of humor. "Also, where the hell is my uniform?"

"After you passed out, we had to remove your uniform to properly tend to your injuries." Arisia said. "I had put your Earth military uniform in a pocket dimension until you would be ready to take it back."

"And who exactly is we?" Daniel said as he raised an eyebrow at his friends.

"Well me and Batman were the first to be by your side when you passed out. His medical knowledge and my speed were important in how we responded. Next was these three right here, mainly because due to the safeguards on your rings, if any of us tried yanking it off, we'd get zapped pretty good. Arisia and Two Six got it off your finger and we started treating you." Flash explained.

"Ok, let me be more specific, which of you were present when I was stripped off all my clothing, and had it replaced with the medical garments I'm wearing beneath my hard light uniform?" he asked right as they stepped outside, a dozen feet away from a congregation of people he recognized from back home, those he met in the short time while being here, and a number of individuals he didn't recognize.

"Myself, Bats, and Arisia took up that duty," Flash said. "Two Six and Kendra were right there though, just in case we needed them. Luckily, we didn't, aside from ring removal." As Flash finished explaining, Daniel could feel his face heat up as he ran his hand down his face in embarrassment. Its one thing to shower with your brothers in arms back in the barracks, it was another getting stripped down in the field, half of those doing so being female. Very close friends and teammates, sure, but it was still somewhat embarrassing.

"That's just great!" he muttered with his hand still on his forehead. Those around him only chuckled as they noticed him turn even redder at the realization of what happened.

"Trust me Lantern, you have nothing to be embarrassed about." Kendra said reassuringly, followed by a wink. "Nothing at all." If it wasn't her comment that turned him practically the color of one of Atrocitus' Red Lanterns, what came next would.

"Its not the first time I've seen you naked either, Daniel." Two Six said just loud enough for the group ahead of them to turn their heads, some chuckling at what they just heard. Others curious at what was being discussed, or as to why that was the topic of conversation.

"HA!" Flash laughed as he turned to face the now beet red, Green Lantern. "I freaking called it guys!" he said as he raced over to Batman, Superman, and Firestorm, the latter two of which wore smirks of various sizes across their faces. Flash fist bumped Firestorm and Superman, while Batman just shook his head and approached the now fully conscious Green Lantern, who was still bright red.

"I swear to all I hold dear, when I recover, I'm going to kill you, Flash!" he said through gritted teeth as he walked up to Batman.

"I guess I was right about one thing," Batman said in a deadpan manner. "I knew you were gonna play Captain Kirk while you were out in space. Anyway, welcome back to the land of the living. That was some damn fine work you did, Lantern." he held out his hand.

"Good to see you again Bats, its been a while since we last worked together." he replied shaking his hand. "But then again, it's been a while since I've worked with any of you. Having a whole space sector to patrol, and my other duties back home, don't leave me much time to liaison with you guys anymore."

"We all have our own duties, Lantern." Batman replied. "I rarely leave Gotham as it is, so you aren't alone in that feeling."

"So I assume you've all been brought up to speed on the situation by the locals?" Daniel asked, looking over the the Jedi, their white armored soldiers, and the local resistance fighters, the latter of which were staring curiously at Two Six, who returned the feeling of curiousness. Among the Jedi that were present during the battle, there were the two he had met on that planet he saved, and a blonde one he remembered from the message he intercepted earlier, and the one who initiated the conversation, in holographic form.

"So your the one who's responsible for saving Corellia and punching through the Separatist fleet?" he asked. "Good to see your back on your feet again. Your actions have spread across the galaxy rather quickly."

"Indeed," came the voice of an older looking man in the form of a blue holographic projection. "People across the galaxy thing your a hero for what you did, both there, and on Ryloth."

"I'm no fucking hero for doing my job," Daniel said coldly as he fixed his gaze on the man. "I did what I did because it's my job, not because I'm seeking glory and fame like some assholes do." A not so subtle stab at a certain member of the League back home who had an affinity for wearing gold. How Blue Beetle ever got along with him was beyond Daniel understanding.

"Such language," he heard a familiar voice to his left say. It was the older of the two Jedi he met earlier, while he was on the surface of the planet he saved.

"Believe me, I can say much worse than that, beautiful." he said, noticing her reaction at the compliment he gave, with some amusement. "If you want to thank anyone here, thank my colleagues here. If you don't remember, if it wasn't for them showing up when they did, we wouldn't be talking right now. And I hope I don't have to describe what would've happened to everyone here at the hands of that psychopath." most of those present looked around at each other for a few moments, before the older man continued.

"Still, you have the thanks of countless Republic citizens you saved, all of you do. Not only for your actions on Corellia, but the actions of your colleagues in bringing Wat Tambor to justice."

"What did you guys do while I was knocked out?" Daniel asked as he turned to Superman.

"After being brought up to speed on the situation here, we assaulted the main base the Separatist set up in the capital city. As it stands now, the Republic is in control, and all Separatist forces have been destroyed or captured."

"All of you against those dumb robots? Doesn't seem very fair to me."

"But you slagging a whole fleet was a fair fight?" Superman said with a smile.

"More fair than fighting a Kryptonian, Speedster, a Living Lightning Bolt, Living Nuclear Reactor, Thanagarian, Batman, and four other Green Lanterns."

"It wasn't much of a fight," Flash interrupted. "When we knew where to go, it didn't take very long for us liberate the rest of the planet."

"Well, I'm just glad you guys are here now. But now we need to figure out what to do now, because clearly Sinestro is aware of this universe, and there's a galactic wide war ongoing."

"That's something we've been trying to figure out all day," Batman said. "However we don't yet know the full scope of the situation here, despite our talks with the Jedi and their soldiers."

"I believe that is something we can discuss in a more private setting," the old man said to them. "We would like to invite all of you to Coruscant to discuss future cooperation, and to give our thanks for what you've done." The Leaguers and Green Lanterns looked at each other, all deciding if they should accept the invitation.

"Earth is at relative peace, but I'm not entirely comfortable with this many of us being away for that long." Superman said concerned.

"I already sent Shazam back, and I've got business to attend to in Gotham." Batman added. "Having too many of our heavy hitters gone isn't a good idea."

"What about you two?" Daniel said to Arisia and Two Six. "I assume Chaselon and Larvox went back home, but are either of you busy?"

"I've got things I need to do back home." Arisia said with a frown. "While my sector is at peace, there are matters at home I must concentrate on."

"No problem Arisia, I understand. What about you, Two Six? Mind joining me on this op?" he said, turning to face the Numericonian.

"I have no outstanding assignments, and see no issue in joining you, Lantern Daniel." she said with a smile, a gesture he returned to her.

"Katar and Shayera are taking over my present duties, so I am free as well." Kendra added.

"You can count me in as well, I'd love to see this place." Flash said in his usual joyful manner. "Not everyday I get to see a new universe, or the pretty ladies who live there." he said, waving to some of the local female fighters. Daniel simply grabbed his shoulder with a construct hand and flipped him around.

"If I'm taking you anywhere, you are going to behave yourself, and not be distracted by the beautiful sights around." he said with a smile growing across his face he reeled the Speedster away from the local ladies, and closer to him.

"Well that settles it then. You four will go, the rest of us will head back to our universe, and figure out what to do from there."

"Works for me, I guess," Daniel said. "Oh, by the way, Arisia, can I get my clothes back? I don't feel like wearing medical garments all day."

"Of course," she replied before reaching into her pocket dimension, and handing him his uniform. They were neatly folded, but not washed from what he could guess. He could wash them later, or just look around in his own pocket dimension for something else. He should have something else in there anyway. "Thanks Arisia!"

"No problem. Stay safe out there, all of you." she cautioned them. "If more of Sinestro's soldiers are here, it could mean trouble if you get caught flatfooted by those more dangerous than Dez."

"Hopefully that doesn't come to pass. I don't want to jinx it by saying names, but a few certain ones would cause far more death and destruction than he could. And you already know who I'm talking about."

"Take these," Batman interrupted, walking over with four tablets in his hand. "This marks the location of the current spatial anomaly we used to get here. Its still holding, and we'll have a team always posted on our side, ready to pick up communications from this universe. Should anything happen, we'll hear about it, and you'll have the option of coming back home should you need to."

"Thanks Bats!" Daniel said as he took one of the tablets, with the other three in his team each taking one. "Anything else you need to talk about Bats?"

"Yes, but in private," he said, signaling for the Lantern to follow him. Away from those who had no business overhearing their conversation, he cut straight to the chase. "Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked, catching Daniel off guard.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean staying here and trying to help. This war has nothing to do with us, and this is an entirely different universe. This is entirely out of our jurisdiction and we've got problems back home to worry about." Daniel just sighed in response.

"Look, I see where your coming from on this, but I don't have a choice. If I didn't encounter Dez here, I'd be tempted to return home, but we don't know if there's more members of the Sinestro Corps here. Not to mention a galaxy wide war isn't something I can just ignore, not on this scale, and certainly not now. How do you think it'll look to them if we all just up and leave?"

"We've got our hands full back home, especially due to recent events, plus figuring out who opened up this portal. And if you can guess who I believe is behind it, you know why I want all hands on deck."

"Darkseid," Daniel muttered under his breath, just loud enough for Batman to hear, and Superman to look back at them momentarily, before returning to his conversation with Flash and Hawkgirl. "Its because of him that the League was even formed in the first place."

"After he killed our predecessors, including my father." Batman said grimly.

"Not all of us. It was one that day, not long after the initial attack, that I got this ring. From what I was told, I wasn't even the first candidate. There were three others, all of which died in The Invasion. Me and you, with little experience under our belts, alongside the others, had to fight the greatest threat our world had ever faced."

"Its just a shame it took all of them dying for us to finally realize something I figured out long ago. Not even my father wanted to cooperate with them, and look where it got them."

"It wasn't just him, Bats, even the others mostly stuck to their own cities. If only they had realized couldn't do it alone, they'd still be here. You, me, Connor, Kara, Bart, Donna, Garth, M'gann, we all lived in the shadow's of those greater than us, and now we have to fill in their shoes."

"We have a long way to go before we can ever live up to their legacy. Or be able to keep Earth safe if he ever comes back, seeing as how we barely beat him back the first time."

"We won't be alone if he ever comes back, you know that right? The Guardians were aware of Darkseid before, and him attacking Earth, as well as killing my predecessor, was enough for them to take this seriously. Me, Jason, Quentin, and thousands of Green Lanterns, all stand ready if he ever comes back, as well as the League. We won't make it easy for him." Daniel said confidently.

"You make it sound so easy, yet the task ahead of us will be anything but that." Batman argued. "If he comes back, we'll need everyone to stand a chance."

"I never said it would be easy Bats, but you know that I don't give up easily, and neither do you. Hell, none of us are willing to give up. In the four years we've worked together with each other, that should've become clear. If he comes back, he won't leave our planet alive."

"You know, that's the one thing I never agreed with my father on. He refused to kill, even after all those psychopaths ran around Gotham slaughtering hundreds. I don't regret going against his memory in that way."

"I don't have qualms about killing either, but I'll exhaust every option before resorting to that. The sickos running around Gotham had their chances, and they paid the price for their continued crimes. With Darkseid, he's evil incarnate. If he comes back, we'll have no chance but to kill him."

"Assuming we even can," Batman replied dryly.

"I've spent a few years thinking of it, but I came up with a desperate, all else fails fails, type of plan. I sent it to you a while back, you ever read it?"

"You'd basically wreck the solar system in an attempt to kill him."

"We could do it, these rings have the capability to destroy planets, so it wouldn't be impossible. Hopefully we never have to find out if that plan works, because like I said, its a long shot, and a desperate gamble."

"How long do you plan on staying over here?" Batman said, shifting the subject back to the original topic.

"As long as I'm needed over here. Me, Two Six, Kendra, and Alex, will get a general idea of what's going on. I can send back Alex as soon as possible though."

"Its fine, we've got a few other speedsters laying around, we should manage."

"Well if you've got nothing else for me, I'm heading back to my group, and we're gonna figure out what to do next.

After agreeing to come with the Jedi to their capital world, Coruscant, to meet with their leaders, and help discuss how they can solve the situation. The four of them boarded one of the dagger shaped starship, being momentarily confused when every crewmember they encountered looked exactly alike. It was explained by the Jedi that the soldiers they used were clones, bred for war. The response the four of them had to that wasn't a very positive one, but chose not to pursue an argument about it. The glances they exchanged, which were noticed by the Jedi, told them how they felt about it.

They were given access to four spare cabins aboard the cruiser, however Daniel and Two Six opted to take the same one, eliciting wicked grins from Kendra and Alex, to which he replied by flicking them off. Upon closing, and locking the door, he removed his ring, took off the medical garments he'd been wearing for the better portion of a day, and began sorting through the clothes he was wearing beforehand.

"Well that's not gonna do at all," he muttered as he noticed the blood stains on his uniform. He sighed, realizing that only his underwear and socks had been spared from getting covered in blood after his encounter with Dez. Looking into a mirror that was present in the room, he looked over his body, and noticed a new scar that ran across his chest. 'Just one more mark on my body.' he thought glumly. His mood went down a bit further when he noticed that as Two Six herself was undressing, something he couldn't help but do, was that there was a scar running down one of her tentacles on the right side of her head. "What happened?"

"What happened with what?" she asked curiously.

"The scar," he said, waving his hand down the side of his head, to show her what he meant. "What happened?" she just smiled gently as she looked back at him, almost completely unclad, and began walking towards him.

"Its nothing to worry about, just a reminder of why we keep fighting." she said, before pressing her lips against his own. The feeling of their lips pressed onto each other's was one hell of a rush. Not seeing each other for nine whole months, tending to their various duties, would do that to anyone. Their kiss became more and more heated, with their tongues danced in other's mouths, each trying to establish dominance over the other. Daniel gripped her waist with both arms, and pressed her body to his. Her soft breasts feeling like pillows as they pressed onto his chest. As their lungs began to beg for air, Two Six broke the kiss, pushed Daniel onto the bed behind him, and climbed atop him. "Besides, I should be more worried about what happened to you." she said, running a finger across the diagonal scar on his chest, which made him wince slightly.

"Easy there," he croaked out, causing her to frown, and quickly remove her hand from his chest. He in turn reached his hand up and gently ran it down her scarred tentacle, causing her to shiver slightly. "I'm going to be worried about my girlfriend getting hurt, now what happened." he pressed on, causing her to lean in closer to him, her hot breath tickling his ear.

"One of Sinestro's soldiers, who is no longer alive, now stop worrying," she breathed out huskily, before bringing her lips back down on top of his. This time she her demeanor was more aggressive, her tongue, which was slightly longer than his own, wrestled his into submission, and coating his mouth with her saliva as it probed every corner of his mouth. She pulled herself away once more, her orange eyes looking directly into his brown eyes. A look of intent visible as she used one hand to balance herself on the bed, while the other slid her own underwear off, and tossed them across the room. Her eyes glowing slightly darker in color, a sign of arousal, and of what was about to come next. "And let me take care of you," she purred as she dragged his boxers off, revealing his throbbing erection to the cold air of the room. She took it in her hand without preamble, and began stroking it.

"F-fuck!" Daniel moaned as he shifted beneath her, causing her to look down at him with a wickedness in her eyes he hadn't seen in a long time. A look that only intensified as he snaked his hand down her lower lips, and inserted two fingers. In response to his insertion, she leaned in closer, until her face was but inches away from his, and whispered.

"Enough teasing, Daniel, let's move on to what we both want," she said seductively, ripping her hand away from his member, and shifting herself to where her lips began grinding up and down the length of his shaft.

"Two Six," he said through gritted teeth as she continued to grind atop his length. She was wet. Very wet, he realized as it wasn't long before the entirety of his cock was soaked in her fluids, something she realized, as her hand crept down once more, and guided him inside her. "Oh my god!" he moaned as he slipped inside her, he insides gripping him like a fist as she began to rock her hips back and forth on his cock.

"The fact that I can drive you this crazy does good things for my self assuredness, knowing how perverse humans are." she smiled, looking down at the pleasure written across his face, as he saw the look in her eyes, both of them knowing how much they were enjoying this. Straddled atop the human, she began to rise and slam herself down on his cock, the sensation sending jolts of pleasure throughout her body, arching her back as she rode him. "I needed this so badly!" she groaned as she steadied her pace and matched it with the upward thrusting that Daniel was contributing.

"So have I!" was all he could muster as a reply, as the feeling of her insides clenching every inch of his member, milking him with a ferocity he had never experienced before. Her juices flowed down like a waterfall, drenching both his thighs and hers, and pooling on the bed beneath them, leaving a large wet spot. He reached his hands up, gripping her breasts, and squeaking, causing her to squeak, and arch her back in response. "And I forgot how much you love that!" he said grinning.

"Yes," she totally didn't mewl as he pinched her nipples between his fingers, arching her back further, and clamping down tighter on his length as she continued to rise and fall atop him. Her pace quickened and got more erratic, a signal to both of them that she was closer and closer to orgasm. Hell, both of them were near the tipping point. Nine months without so much as seeing each other, or anyone else in this manner, left both of them pent up to the extreme. Daniel glided his hands down to her hips, gripping them hard as he thrusted up into her quicker and harder than before, making her eyes roll into the back of her head at his increased pace. "I'm going to cum," she moaned out as she slammed downwards with reckless abandon, driving both of them over the edge. She bent down once more and kissed him hard, ready for the orgasm that was ready to surge through her body.

"Cum for me, baby," he whispered as he pulled away from the kiss, one hand still firmly gripping her ass, the other going around her waist, pulling her closer to him. In the end, his orgasm set off her own. He erupted inside of her with the force of a firehose, sending rope after rope of warm cum inside of her, splashing against her most sensitive regions. This set her off in turn, her walls gripping at him, like an evolutionary instinct to milk every last drop from him. The harder and more he came inside of her, the harder she gripped him in response. Her eyes rolled back as she grinded piteously on top of him, riding off her orgasm as he continued to unload inside her.

However it wouldn't last, as Daniel shot one last rope inside of her, and her orgasm subsided shortly after. With him still inside, she collapsed onto his chest, causing him some pain from his previous injuries, but he didn't care. He brought a hand up to stroke her head lovingly as they lay together in the afterglow of their sex. Neither one of them had orgasmed that hard before, and were still couldn't believe just how amazing it was. Finally, it was Daniel who broke the silence.

"That was absolutely amazing," he said as looked down into her orange eyes, which in turn looked up at him.

"Yes, it was," she replied.

Ever since they were both recruits in the Green Lantern Corps, the bond they shared was unbreakable. Through thick and thin, they stood by each other, never leaving or cheating on one another. "I've missed you so much, Two Six. Being on the other side of the universe for so long, not being able to see you, hurts worse than you can believe. Even more so when I saw this," he said as he stroked the tentacle that held the scar.

"I've missed you too, Daniel, but you don't need to worry. I was worried when we got the call about you disappearing, and I jumped at the first chance to help find you. I don't want to lose you, and when I saw you in the aftermath of the battle with Dez, I was worried that I might." she said with genuine concern in her voice. Reaching with a free hand, he put a finger under her chin, and leaned down to kiss her. Not the lust filled kiss from earlier, but a gentle, loving one.

"I promise, you aren't going to lose me. I have no intention of dying just yet, nor do I plan on leaving you alone. I love you, Two Six, and I'll never stop."

"And I love you too, Daniel," she said, leaning up to kiss him once more, this time lasting longer, before she finally broke it, laid her head down on his chest, and closed her eyes.

"Tired after a long day, huh? Don't worry, I am too." he smiled as he went back to stroking her head, her smile widening as she got herself comfortable. Daniel pulled the blanket over her body, shielding her body from the cold air of the room, and shifted himself slightly on the bed. Before long, they both fell asleep in each others loving embrace.
