Hi there!

Here is already another chapter. I was in a writing mood this week. I have no idea if you guys are enjoying it, but that doesn't stop me for continuing ;) . I know beginnings can be a bit slow, but I promise you that very soon things will happen.

Enjoy!

Chapter 3: Snapshot

He was waiting at least ten minutes, and with each passing second, his nervousness increased. The noises on the other side of the door left little to the imagination; the boss was in a very bad mood.

A scream, followed by three deafening bangs and then… silence.

He swallowed thickly, the boss was definitely not in a good mood. Quickly looking over his shoulder, he wondered if he could still sneak out and escape this goddamn life, but he knew that action would surely result in the very same thing he feared in the first place. Facing his boss at least gave him a slim chance of getting out of this alive… if he played his cards right.

The door opened and he was ordered in. With a heavy feeling, he entered the room and stepped over the body - a man in a similar position from another district - and stood before a desk. His prospect of walking out of here faded.

"Report!" The Boss's voice was cold and curt.

"We haven't found it yet, but we still have leads we are tracking down, Sir."

"I've heard about the way your boys handled things today," the boss said, leaning forward over his desk, letting a light fall upon his scarred face; discontent written all over it.

"Sir, that won't happen again. You have my word."

"Oh, it won't," the boss threatened. "This situation needs to be handled as quickly as possible. Patience of the 'Upper Hand' is running out and business needs to start running soon or we all vanish with it." The scarred man leaned back in his chair. "Anything else you want to report?"

"There seems to be another one, a girl, feisty and strong, yet they don't seem to be on an equal level of power. Although, she's strong enough to kick troops down. She was first spotted a week ago during the failed jewelry store robbery. I spoke to Jeremey, who was there and managed to have a short conversation with the target while he was being held in a headlock, and he is certain the target has personal attachment to this newcomer."

Even with this dim light he could clearly see the boss raise his eyebrow. "How does his attachment to this newcomer translate?"

"They seem to have no family bond and according to Jeremey, the target's behavior changed for the better when he pointed out their romance. There was definitely interest on the target's side, but Jeremy was sure they hadn't acted on it yet at that point in time."

The moment of silence that followed was excruciating. He was certain the boss was overthinking his fate at this very moment.

"You've been a loyal ally for quite some time, Hodaka, but so was Meguro," he gestured to the body on the floor. "The difference between the two of you - other than that he's dead and you're alive - is that you don't try to hide your flaws and speak the truth when I ask, I value honesty. You have a week to get the job done, but remember, time is running out, and so is my forgiving nature. No police; No flying heroes; No nothing. Just focus on the task at hand and do it more discreetly this time," he leaned back into the light, "Understand?"

"Yes sir!" With a distinct nod he left the room, ignoring the body, and when he was finally outside, he released all his tension. With trembling hands, he picked up his pack of cigarettes and lit one to calm his nerves.

He was one lucky bastard to walk out of there alive.

###

It was like a heartbeat, it felt warm, pulsing and full of life. Her eyes sparkled, not only from its reflection, but mostly out of wonder and excitement. She was doing it! The glowing ball of pure energy floating between her palms was proof of that.

"That's it!" His excitement was evident in his voice.

"Shush, Gohan, I'm trying to concentrate!" But to her horror, it was too late, her ball of energy had disappeared. Exhausted, she fell forward, panting on both hands, and felt beads of sweat drip from her face. She didn't realize until now that it was taking her so much effort.

"Here," Gohan's soft voice made her look up and was surprised to see him offer her a large chunk of chocolate. "To get some of your energy back."

She took it gratefully and let her fall back, leaning on one hand, and gave her Sensei a thankful smile. She couldn't believe how sweet and considerate he was.

They were both on the roof, continuing their training in a more private setting. The lessons she received during P.E. eventually attracted too much attention as some people had noticed that Gohan had knocked her down once or twice, keeping up with her punches and kicks. And because of her shout, everyone had seen him block her powerful flying kick and still hold up.

Back then, Gohan had simply shrugged off the questions and waved them off with the excuse that Videl made it seem real to scare him, but had made no effort to carry out real attacks. Most of their classmates believed it, because of Gohan's reputation of being bad at sports, but some still tried to understand how he was capable of coping with her shown speed. Only Sharpener didn't buy it. Having been Videl's main sparring partner during P.E. previously, he knew how hard she could hit, and he knew she wasn't holding back in that final attack. If it had been him, he would certainly have been thrown into the wall. Yet, Gohan didn't move an inch. He was much more than a nerd, that was for sure. No wonder Videl took a liking to the guy.

The exploded hand pad, however, had been a bit more difficult to explain. Of course the teacher came to check on them when the polyethylene foam started to scatter throughout the gym. Gohan tried to blame it on old material, not realizing that it had been newly bought just for this semester. Videl then managed to convince Mr. Jimu that the manufacturer was making defective equipment and that he should get her father's brand, the ones that can take punches. Of course there was nothing wrong with the hand pads they had used, nothing could withstand the force that Videl had managed to land.

Gohan was proud of her display during P.E., more than proud. He didn't expect her to access that amount of Ki already, so teaching her to fly wouldn't be that hard. However, with the other techniques, he should probably be more careful teaching them. A little too much Ki without control can be a real problem. That's why he decided to start with the basics from now on, step by step, away from prying eyes.

"How do you feel?" he asked, looking intently at her.

"I'm fine, don't worry," Videl shrugged, and after she had finished her last piece of chocolate, she sat up to try again. But Gohan took her hand and prevented her from doing so.

"I think your body has been spent enough, Videl. This is all new to you and you have used up a lot of energy. We'll stop for today and start fresh tomorrow."

"Just one more try," she pushed, freeing her hand from his grasp. Gohan sighed, deciding she would have to face the consequences for herself if she wouldn't listen, and watched as she managed to make a small Ki-ball for the second time that day. It took her less time than before and he couldn't help but be impressed by how quickly she learned.

The alarm of Gohan's watch went off, a sign that their free hour was over. Startled, Videl immediately lost her concentration, causing the Ki-ball to disappear directly afterwards. She sighed with a mixture of disappointment and satisfaction. Her Sensei stood up and offered her a hand to help her up, which she accepted. But when she stood on her own two legs, everything started to spin and even went black for a few seconds. When she came to, she was in Gohan's strong arms, holding her close. A little confused she looked up at him and was met with a very serious expression. She had never seen that with him.

"Let this be a warning," he said firmly, "If I say go, you go, if I say stop, you stop. Do not go against my orders again. Spending too much Ki is dangerous, you are playing with your life force. Spend too much, you die."

This shocked her. When she was still sitting on the ground, she felt she could easily do another round, even if she was a little tired. But now she wasn't even sure she could stand on her own if Gohan would let her go. She swallowed, beginning to understand that her stubbornness could have serious consequences. She nodded in understanding and leaned her body more into his.

Glad she saw the bigger picture, Gohan relaxed. He hadn't realized he'd been so tense during the last session and he was probably more concerned about her than he cared to admit. He hugged her in an intimate embrace - he was no longer her Sensei at this point - and placed a flat hand between her shoulders.

Videl's eyes shot wide, feeling a rush of energy through her being. The lifeless feeling left her body and she regained control of her muscles. Before she knew it, she was supporting herself again, almost as if nothing had happened. She looked confused at Gohan and was greeted with a friendly smile.

"Hope this helps, I gave you some of mine," his smile then turned a bit more serious, "Be careful today, alright, and have a good rest. In the evening I'll allow you to practice twice, no longer than fifteen minutes per session and with at least an hour of rest in between. I'm not there to patch you up, so don't overspend yourself. Don't try anything else, and definitely don't drop that ball of energy." He overly emphasized the last sentence.

"I promise," she said, "Thank you for everything."

Gohan's carefree smile returned, "My pleasure," and gave her a kiss. "See you tomorrow, I really have to go now, otherwise I'll be late."

Videl watched as he took off, still amazed at how fast he was. After some minutes she felt a cold wind and noticed how silent it was without him. She hugged herself and wished his house arrest would be lifted soon, because an hour felt too short to be with him. She blushed at the thought and snickered at how hopeless she had become - Videl Satan, totally in love with a boy. Ridiculous, wasn't it?

###

"Big Brother!"

His little brother's cheery scream drowned out the umph-sound the elder produced when Goten collided with his stomach, nearly knocking him over. He had misjudged how strong the little one had become, the training with him had paid off.

"Hey Squirt, missed me?"

"Yeah! I'm so glad Mom punished you! Now I can see you every day!"

Gohan shook his head, the little one was unbelievable, "I appreciate the thought, but it's not very nice to wish your brother punishment, is it?"

Goten thought about it for a moment and he lowered his head, "I guess so… I'm sorry!"

This made Gohan chuckle and ruffled through Goten's hair, "It's all right, Squirt. Where is Mom? Have you been nice to her today?" He certainly hoped so.

"Yeah, I was! She's making dinner."

Gohan put Goten back on the ground and went to the kitchen. He was on time, even ten minutes early because he flew as fast as he could, so his mother had no reason to be upset with him. They hadn't been on good terms when he left this morning, so he really hoped she'd cooled down enough to have a normal evening. He just needs to make sure he keeps her happy and does what she asked him to do.

"Hey Mom, I'm home," he tried carefully.

"Ah, Gohan! How was school today?" Chi-Chi welcomed him in her normal happy tune.

'Good, so she has calmed down,' Gohan thought, relieved. "It was nice, we did Martial Arts today in P.E. Some of my classmates are quite good."

She looked up from her cooking and gave him a concerned look, "Please tell me you've restrained yourself."

"I functioned as a punching bag, no worries," he joked, getting a smile back from his mother.

"Good," Chi-Chi turned off the stove, cleaned her hand with the dishcloth hanging from her apron, and turned to face her eldest. Gohan had a bad feeling about this, but he kept his calm demeanor. "I think our argument got out of hand yesterday. I made my point very clear and still stand by the punishment I gave you. That said, I do apologize for not asking you how your date went."

Gohan swallowed, he was actually glad she hadn't asked him about it. He wasn't in the mood for his mother to go all crazy over him having a girlfriend, so he tried to avoid the subject as much as possible. "Apparently it wasn't a date," he said, which was totally true, "They organized a surprise party in my name, to welcome me back after my month abroad."

"Oh," there was a slight disappointment in her voice, "That's very sweet of them."

"Yeah, it was actually quite nice, too bad someone broke into my apartment in the meantime," he sighed. Inwardly, however, he was quite proud of how smoothly he switched subjects, something he wasn't that great at.

"About your apartment…" his mother began, causing an uneasy feeling in the half-Saiyan's stomach, "I think you should move back here."

"What?! Why?" Gohan was shocked, seeing his free life fall to pieces.

"Because you've recovered and it's no longer necessary. You can travel from here to school just fine now, so there is no need for you to be located in Satan City."

"But Mom, you send me there to socialize with people my age. If I stay here, how can I do that? In school I have to focus and work hard. And then there's training and stuff, so I don't have that much time. Me already living there allows me to join my friends when they get together. Wasn't that the whole purpose anyway?" he said rapidly, maybe a little panicky. He was looking forward to living on his own again, much closer to Videl. He wouldn't admit it, but he quite enjoyed that Videl spontaneously barged into his apartment, something he would miss if he had to leave. He also needed a little more privacy. He loved his brother to death, but sleeping with him in one room - mostly even in one bed because Goten kept crawling into his - caused inconveniences, so to say, especially with his mind wandering to a certain attractive crime fighter every now and then. His innocent days had passed him.

Sighing in defeat, Chi-Chi knew this was coming, so she turned on the stove and continued her cooking. "Alright, just visit me more often, okay? It can be very empty without you in the house." A gasp followed, not expecting to be hugged tightly.

"I will," Gohan said, "I missed you too."

"Alright, alright!" his mother laughed away, trying not to give in to the tears that welled up. "Please, set the table for dinner, I'm almost done."

After dinner, he and his little brother had trained extensively and before long he dozed off in his warm and cozy bed. His unconsciousness took him back to that night, where he and Videl locked themselves in that pastel-coloured room, sharing secrets after secrets. Tonights dream was not sexual, he only recalled the little things: the subtle touches when he sat close to her; that lovely cherry scent; the peaceful feeling he had when he woke up next to her and holding her close in his arms. Oh, how he wished he could wake up like that more often.

As he slowly returned to reality, awaking from his dream, he noticed he was indeed holding someone tightly, though not Videl. He slowly let go of his little brother and lifted his head to retrieve his arm, only to find that he had been drooled all over.

He took a quick shower and by the time he was ready to face the day, his mother had already made breakfast. While she ate at a decent pace, Goten devoured his pancakes as if it was thin air, inhaling it at quickening speeds. Gohan was somewhere in between, having learned how to eat with good table manners, yet eat quickly enough to fill his Saiyan stomach in a reasonable time. After some small chit chat, Goten looked up from his plate and remembered something he had been dying to ask his big brother ever since he woke up.

"Gohan! What is Videl?"

This caused the eldest to choke. Coughing and spluttering, he slammed his fist against his chest to dislodge the chunk of food stuck in his throat and he eventually managed to swallow it. Still recovering, he glanced at his little brother.

"How the-" he paused, realizing his mother was in their presence, "I mean, s-she is one of my classmates, why?"

"She?" His mother asked suspiciously, though Goten overruled the conversation.

"So you cannot eat her?"

Gohan blushed profusely, "She isn't food, Goten!" answering the question wisely.

Goten's face was full of confusion, and he was visibly thinking. "But…" he stammered, "But…"

"Why do you think she is food? And how did you even know her name?"

"You said in your sleep that you loved Videl. It sounded yummy and I always dream about food, so I thought you did too!" disappointment was written on his face. "I was hoping it was a new kind of candy I could try," he added almost inaudibly, saddened by this new revelation.

"Tell me about this… 'Videl', Gohan," his mother asked slowly, with a clear hint of seriousness and firmness in her voice. Gohan couldn't determine which direction the conversation would go, so he swallowed and tried his best to keep her satisfied with his answers.

"She's one of the friends I made, and -"

"-You love her?" his mother finished his sentence.

The eldest son shot an angry look at the one who sparked this conversation before continuing, "Y-Yes, I do."

"Is she from a prestigious family?"

"Mom!" the teen exclaimed, "Why does that even matter?"

Deciding to drop her last comment, she continued, "I hope this doesn't affect your studies?"

"No, neither will my training, I promise."

"Good," she relaxed a little and slowly resumed eating, "Was she the one you thought you had a date with the other day?" A nod in acknowledgment made her heart sink a little, "Sorry it turned out to be that way."

"Well…" he paused and stared at his plate, his head working overtime. Should he confess? Tell her that he in fact had a girlfriend? And if he did, how would his mother react? Would she approve? If only the little squirt could hold his mouth for once, Gohan could have told his mother when he was ready, when their relationship wasn't so fresh. Realizing that this conversation had already gone too far, he'd better tell her everything. "Even though it wasn't technically a date, Videl and I ended up together."

Chi-Chi looked up in surprise. Did her eyes really sparkle? "So you have a girlfriend now?"

"What's a girlfriend?" Goten interrupted, but was ignored by the others.

"Uh-huh," somehow this confession made him shy and he started to blush, enough for his mother to see that his feelings were genuine.

She smiled, albeit half-hearted, "You know, not everyone can handle the truth, you should be careful."

"She already knows," this made Chi-Chi look wide-eyed from her plate and left her fork hanging half-way through her mouth with a bite of pancake on it, "She knows everything: about my past; Cell; my alien heritage; me being Saiyaman… everything. And she is fine with it."

"Y-You already told her? Sounds like you're dead serious about her," Chi-Chi felt her heart skip, her son was growing up so fast.

"Yeah, I am. Like I said, I love her." He looked at his watch and cursed, he was running late. "Sorry Mom, gotta go!"

"And when will I meet this lady who stole your heart?" She asked as she saw her eldest son grab his lunch capsule from the counter and run outside. But with a quick goodbye, he left her alone with that unanswered question.

###

A few days passed and everything was working out great. They were only needed a handful of times to help with some minor crime, which Gohan really enjoyed doing with Videl - or should he say Saiyawoman? Now that they'd teamed up, he had significant time to train Videl. She had made great progress on her training and he looked with pride at the now airborne girl.

"Don't go too high! The wind might take you by surprise," he yelled, as she was at least 5 feet high. This, however, broke her concentration, and with a soft scream she fell down. Gohan gently caught Videl immediately. "I think that's enough for now, let's take a little break" he said, a bit concerned, but confident enough for Videl to agree. He put Videl down and offered her a piece of chocolate.

"Thanks," gratefully accepting it. As she ate, she looked at Gohan, a bit daring.

"What?" he asked when he noticed.

"Who are you right now? Since this is a break, you should be Gohan, not Sensei, right?"

"Uh, I guess so?" Not sure where this was going.

"Good," then she stood up and sat back down in the middle of his crossed legs, leaning against his body. She was cold from all the energy she'd spent and she needed to be warmed up. He immediately threw his arms around her and held her tight, and with her skin feeling like ice, he raised the surrounding temperature with his own Ki. Videl sighed in content, having missed their closeness. Training with the Sensei limited her time with Gohan, even though they were the same person, because he always prioritized training over pleasure. He really had some self-control, he was dedicated and not easily distracted, spending their limited time as efficiently as possible.

Maybe she could spend her break as efficiently as well, she thought mischievously, and turned to face him. He gave her a soft smile. Oh, she really wanted to taste that smile again, it has been days! And with that thought she threw her arms around his neck and moved forward slowly, seductively.

Beep Beep Beep

Of course, at this critical moment, her stupid watch went off! She almost had him where she wanted!

Irritated, she answered, turning away from Gohan. "What?!"

Startled at the rude reception, the Chief stammered a bit, "H-Hi Videl, t-there's a pickpocket near your school. The police are on their way, but I thought you might be there sooner. Is everything alright?"

"On my way," she said annoyed, ignoring his question as she disconnected the call and pressed her other button to switch outfits. Pickpocketing shouldn't be an issue to call backup for, she thought, but got up anyway. "Come on," Videl - dressed as Saiyawoman - said and offered Gohan a hand.

After arriving at their destination, they looked down at the scene from a building. "Looks like they don't need us after all," Gohan chuckled as he watched the police escort the handcuffed criminal to their vehicles.

Videl came standing next to him and snickered softly, "What do you know; they are capable of something for once." She beheld the scene beneath her, but looked up in surprise when she felt two arms wrap around her. Her heart skipped a beat and her face began to blush underneath her helmet; she hadn't expected it. She was elated that he finally made a move on his own after his distant behavior of previous days, and subconsciously she leaned into his body.

"I've still got five minutes left," he said softly, turning her gently so she'd face him. Videl looked at him, yet only saw her own helmeted reflection in his visor. His smile, however, as soft and genuine as ever, was proof that the costumed hero was indeed Gohan.

He moved one of his gloved hands to the heart-shaped ornament protruding from the front of her helmet and pushed it up along the slot, opening her visor in the process. He looked at her two beautiful opal eyes and chuckled, "I'm beginning to understand the purpose of that yellow heart of yours." Videl held her breath and waited expectantly as he aligned her chin in the right position and pressed his lips gently against hers. She had almost forgotten how good his kisses were.

His alarm went off, which meant only one thing: he had to go home. Reluctantly, Gohan pulled away from their intimate kiss and his hand - which had been roaming her body just seconds ago - pulled her visor down. "Sorry," he apologized and gave her a half-hearted smile. "Come, I'll bring you home." He leapt over the edge and stopped in mid-air, looking back at her, "Want to try it yourself?"

She looked unsure over the edge and hesitated for a moment. They were at least twenty-five stories high - too high for her comfort - but Videl Satan wasn't the one to turn down a challenge. She swallowed and closed her eyes, concentrating on the things he had taught her. Gohan smiled - he loved her devotion - and watched her slowly gather and push her Ki underneath her, causing her to float in the air. After she felt certain she was airborne, she dared to open her eyes and, with a healthy dose of ambivalence, she leaned forward and floated over the edge of the building.

"You are doing great!" Gohan smiled at her with a big grin, "I'm proud of you."

"Shush, I'm trying to concentrate!" But his motivation boosted her confidence. She smirked as she managed to fly towards Gohan and hovered over the costumed man. He gave her an encouraging nod and she took off slowly towards her home, Gohan by her side. He was enjoying her laughter of pleasure as she accelerated a little and began to feel more comfortable with her newfound skill.

But as soon as she flew past one of the skyscrapers, she was blown away by a strong wind. She spiraled out of control and fell a couple of feet before Gohan caught her. Videl sighed; she was relieved, but also annoyed that she had fallen in the first place. Gohan, however, was ecstatic; he never thought she would have come this far in such a short time.

"It was a nasty gust of wind; even experienced Ki users would have struggled with it, so don't beat yourself up for falling, okay? You did great, more than great." Videl looked at his smile and flushed. Something about him made her more accepting of her flaws and soothed her bruised ego, something she normally had trouble with. But being back in his strong arms helped the situation, and she buried her helmeted head against his shoulder.

Much to her disappointment, the flight was over very quickly - probably because Gohan was running out of time - and he had dropped her off on her balcony. "See you tomorrow," he smiled at her and, even though he was still in the air, he gave her a quick kiss. "I can't wait until my curfew is lifted and I can spend more time with you," he whispered, kissing her again, a longer one this time. He then pulled away, gave her a salute and flew off, leaving Videl with butterflies in her stomach.

###

"Someone is surely happy today!" Erasa eyed her best friend and when she got an irritated fake glare, she playfully stuck out her tongue. "You can't even hide that smile with that frown, even if you wanted to. So please tell me, what happened?"

"Nothing," she tried, but Erasa's expression clearly told her not to lie to her, or else. The raven-haired girl sighed, knowing that Erasa wouldn't stop until at least she got something out of her. In order to quell her friend, Videl gave her enough information to silence her, at least for the moment. "It has to be kept secret, you understand?"

"Come on, Vi, you know me better than that! I can keep secrets!" Videl only gave her a knowing look, so she added, "Tell me, did anyone hear about that time when you were so busy fighting crime that you didn't have enough time to learn, so you had to 'borrow' some answers for that chemistry test? The Videl Satan, fighter for all that is Justice, capable of such crimes herself? No. Or that time you told that gold-digger of a lover that your Dad was totally bankrupt only to break them up? Nope, not a word was spilled! Oh, how about that one time you got all confused because of that conflicting feeling you had after that erotic dream about you and Saiyaman despite you hated the g-"

"Alright, alright! You've made your point! Shush!" She swallowed, that latter was painfully spot on. Videl quickly looked around to see if anyone overheard the two, but luckily everybody was minding their own business. She let out a relieved sigh. "Okay, you have to promise me that you won't tell a goddamn soul about this and don't push me for answers I don't want to give. It has to stay a secret, so don't even tell Sharpener or Gohan, you understand!"

Erasa nodded and her eyes began to twinkle. Yeah, she was good at keeping secrets despite her gossipy nature. Her friend didn't even know she knew about her and Gohan's bedroom adventure. And man, that had cost her all her self-discipline not to hear her out. She wanted her friend to come to her about it herself, and now she felt the time had finally come.

Videl took a deep breath and decided how to tell her some details, but without revealing crucial information, and avoided her gaze as she mumbled, "It's about this boy…"

A loud and deafening squeal escaped the lips of the bubbly blonde. She knew it! Her best friend was going to tell her she liked their mutual dark-haired friend. This was so exciting!

"Erasa! Quiet! Someone might hear ya!" Videl gave her a shocked look and waited for the rest of the corridor to mind their own business again before continuing, "I said it has to stay a secret, not only because I want to, but you know how the tabloids feast on these things; I must keep them from knowing about it whatever it takes, you understand? I didn't even want to tell you, but I just can't lie to you."

"My lips are sealed!"

Another deep breath; 'well, here goes nothing'. "I think I'm in love," she blushed and began to hug the books she was holding, "I mean… I'm in love, for real this time, and best of all, it's mutual. Or at least, we never actually said the L-word out loud, but I just know he feels the same, and well, we hit it off really well, having all these things in common and share the same interests, and, and,-" she paused, "and I'm rambling, aren't I?"

Erasa giggled, "Oh, yes you are!" She smiled broadly at her tomboy-esque friend who got all girly over a guy. She never thought this day would come. "Is he good?"

"What do you mean?"

"Is he a good kisser?" Erasa grinned, "Or rather, is he good in bed?"

Videl looked shocked at her best friend and promptly walked into the person in front of her. Embarrassed, she quickly apologized and took a brisk stride before continuing the conversation. "Erasa!" she whispered firmly, still avoiding eye contact, "Can you be more subtle about it, please?!"

"Where's the fun in that?" Erasa - a bit out of breath because Videl was walking too fast for her comfort - looked at her mischievously, "So, is that a yes?"

"Yes, he's a good kisser, satisfied?" No way Videl was going to tell her that they have had a very good time doing those other things as well.

Pleased she had at least gotten so much out of her, Erasa decided she wouldn't push further. Knowing Videl, pushing too much would counteract the desired effect, closing herself off from sharing. But she needed to know how much she was willing to share, even though she already knew the answer, "Does this guy have a name?"

Videl again avoided looking at the blonde, "Sorry, that's the kind of information I'm not willing to share just yet. If it goes public I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm not sure he's ready to face reality, because it can have a huge impact on his life as well. I really don't want to scare him off."

"Sounds like you two are quite serious about it," Erasa looked at her sympathetically. She began to feel sorry for them, unable to enjoy each other freely. She heaved a sigh. Maybe that's why Gohan was so annoyed about her and Sharpener kissing in public the other day. She shouldn't have teased him, it felt really unfair now.

"Let's postpone this conversation, because you know…" Videl said, giving a knowing nod to their other classmates as the duo entered the classroom.

Videl's eyes immediately fell on Gohan, who was sitting in his usual spot, but with his head buried in his folded arms. This wasn't something he normally did, and she was beginning to worry that something might have happened. When she was almost at his side, he sat up, but said nothing. He only gave her this strangely defeated but empty look. She looked at him confused and he avoided her gaze, closed his eyes and sighed. He then lifted something he had in his lap and showed it to her.

Erasa looked curiously over Videl's shoulders and gasped at what she saw: It was a SuPerGuy magazine, a magazine targeted at teenage females with mostly celebrity gossip, far-fetched love conspiracies, and hot half-naked guys. Erasa always loved to read them and looked forward to the next issue that would come out next week. But according to the one Gohan was holding, they apparently had printed out an early release.

The cover read in big capital letters 'Indisputable evidence: Videl Satan is Saiyawoman!' and even bigger 'The Great Saiyaman has fallen for her devilish sharmes'. And behind it there was a full-size photo of the city's herotic duo kissing on a rooftop.
